Excellent service at really good prices. I made the mistake of booking the rental car at the wrong city. When I called them up, the lady was really easy to deal with and organized a shuttle ride and notified the team to expect me and that I'd need a car last minute. Lucky for me everything went smoothly and they picked me up within minutes, and despite being quite busy when we got there, they found me a car and I was away. Very efficient and friendly staff all around.

3rd time we booked with Snap, and were very happy with everything. Yes I was a bit taken aback when I forgot about the $2000 security we had to put down because we don't have a credit card, but our customer service relation was very good at explaining it, even though I got a bit annoyed, he kept his calm and was very friendly. :) Never had any car issues or other problems with service, on the opposite, they were going above and beyond to make sure we could get a coffee close by, they dropped us off and picked us up again when it was time to go to the airport.

The service that we received was absolutely wonderful, the boys at the Christchurch branch they were fantastic, if all car rentals have guys like that life will be so much simpler, service with a smile and it’s like you have known them for a long time, great service, breeze in and breeze out. Super fast pick up at airport, just had to click a button and add our details and then they were there to pick us up. Fast friendly check in when we got to Snap. Arrived back and again fast friendly service to return the vehicle and super fast delivery back to the airport. Would highly recommend

Another great experience with Snap. Considerably cheaper than the 'big' rental companies and absolutely no issue at all. Car slightly older (~6 years) but in perfect working order. Will be back next time I'm in NZ!

I've rented from these guys in the past with no problems and while their prices are good I left this time slightly dis-shelved. There was a dispute about the gas filling of the tank. So here is a heads up. Don't fill to the second click plus when you return a truck park it on the flat. The return area has a slight incline and will miss read the diesel. When they check you out its on a downwards incline and shows full. Over the years I've rented cars and trucks and never have I had a problem like this.

I love their office, it's so clean and so minimalistic! Rental process was fast(we paid in full with insurance online) we were well on our way in 10 mins. Our car was a Toyota Corolla Hatch 2014 and it was great except for it's in car player (I can't use the Bluetooth and USB function). Car was clean too! 10/10 will rent with Snap Rental again!

I was very nervous to start with - I'd never hired a rental car before and how could this company be so much cheaper than the main ones you see advertised, what's the catch? Well I couldn't find a catch - the booking made it clear what to do when I arrived at the airport. The responding text enabled me to track my shuttle which wasn't necessary as it arrived promptly. The check in process was painless and a quick inspection of the car saw me on the road quickly and they even helped load my bags in the car. I had a hybrid and travelled many km's and the price of petrol I used was minimal. I loved the car. Upon return I had the same friendly staff member drop me promptly back to the airport. All in all it was great value for money and everything went without a hitch. Thanks to the staff at Christchurch airport SNAP rentals - next time I am in town I will definitely book with you again

Reasonable rate for hire car (including zero excess insurance) if all you need is a reliable set of wheels to get around. 2016 Toyota Vitz was received - While High mileage and heavily dented all over, drove and handled otherwise well. Agent insisted that I didn't need to photograph car because I took "peace of mind" coverage, however took no chances as I've run into grief before under similar circumstances with a car rental franchise operating under the 'Thrifty Car Rental' banner in suburban Melbourne, Australia (who I also caught engaging in a campaign of posting multiple false testimonials) Complimentary airport pickup and drop off offered. Interaction with Front office Staff pleasant despite being visibly run off their feet, (they did express they felt they were understaffed) Overall Satisfied and plan to rent from this branch again.

Highly recommend Snap Rentals and their Staff! We were a bit unsure about Snap Rentals Christchurch, NZ because they didn't appear to be a major player in the Car Rental Market and no one we spoke to seemed to have heard of them.... BUT... we were VERY pleasantly surprised and can't speak highly enough of this company. The Premium Mid-Size car we booked turned out to be a Toyota Corolla Hatch which was a fantastic car for our 16 day South Island Driving holiday. It drove beautifully which means that maintenance at Snap must be good. On our arrival at Snap, despite the fact that they were incredibly busy, the Staff were efficient, friendly and anxious to please. The car was fantastic and when we brought it back, the check in process and dropping us at the Airport could not have been smoother or quicker. Well done Snap! I will definitely be recommending your company. You and your hard-working staff are to applauded! P.S. We took out the Top Insurance available, and it was worth it not to have to worry. Also, we hired the GPS which was $10 a day but it was DEFINITELY worth it!

Service was excellent and on time collection. Pickup and drop off to/ from airport was quick and easy. Only 4 stars due the condition of the vehicle. It was old, with over 275,000kms and body had lots of dents with one significant one in front. However, it drove well without any problems and got us back in one piece. It was the cheapest available so can't complain. I would use them again and might be a good idea to check which vehicle they will actually provide if you are fussy.

Very slick service. We were very happy with Snap rentals and all the interaction we had with them. We had the car nearly how and a half months and it was perfect for our needs. We opted for a 4x4 cross over to give extra space and comfort and we were pleased we upgraded especially as we were camping so it gave us piece of mind if we had to take it over grass to get to pitches etc.

The staff at Snap were nice enough, but the car we received was pretty terrible. Literally a dent or scratch on every panel, including the roof, and multiple chips on the windscreen. The car got us around and was mechanically sound. Definitely a budget option but you get what you pay for.

Hassle free car rental process, warm and welcoming staff. They offered very good rates. They have a very modern office, that looks more like an apple store! All their vehicles are new and in good condition too. I actually forgot my camera in the vehicle and noticed it only after I got back home in Dubai. As soon as I contacted them they were quick to confirm that they found the camera and also made arrangements to have it sent over to me here in Dubai!

Best car rental experience I've ever had. Cheerful, friendly, and zero runaround - no upsell on insurance etc. Car had 60k miles but it ran good as new. Only note is that if you book a one-way through an agency they might not convey the one-way fee but I expect I can get it refunded; Peter at Snap expressed frustration that they can't get it clearly specified.

The fully comprehensive zero-excess insurance add-on was extremely reasonably priced and gave great piece of mind. The location is a bit of a way from the airport but they are quick to respond with the courtesy bus.

Handing car back was a 5 minute job, with the mileage recorded and a good walk round for any damage. This was a busy office but they were very efficient in dealing with people as quickly as possible. I hired a 7 year old Corolla. The cleanliness of car inside and out was poor. The itself was a pleasure to drive and well priced. I elected not to take comprehensive insurance. A $2,000 bond was debited immediately to my Visa card which I wasn't expecting. This put my credit card over its limit and made it unusable. Most other hire car companies only record Visa number so any cost of repairs can be charged to the card. For this reason unlikely to use Snap again.

Pick up and drop off was fine, sevice was excellent. Car asked for was a medium size car Toyota corolla hatch or similar we got a Toyota corolla station wagon. Dented and not appealing, had bad lag and didn't seem to have any power. We then rang to get the car changed and ended up with a small car Toyota Yaris. Was much better, smaller but had no problems. If you want a car that gets you from A to B all good. If you want a car that is in better condition try somewhere else.

A bit of a hiccups at first as no one was picking up our calls when we arrived at the airport. Luckily after a few non-stop calls someone answered and the rest was just great. The handing over of the car was very fast and the lady staff explained thoroughly to us on how to maneuver the car. The price of the car is very affordable and we love the car so much that I felt a bit reluctant to return it haha.

Easy to find the shuttle bus from Christchurch Airport (Near domestic door 2). I did not wait too long to get on the shuttle bus. I rent a Toyota Pruis (Hybrid) for 17 days in a good condition, saved a lot of gas but it will be hard to drive on the steep road if your car is full loading. Very nice staff to help us rent the car. Everything was perfect, I will definitely rent from them if I visit New Zealand again.

We rented a people mover for our family of 6. It was an old car with lots of dents but was comfortable and did the job. The price was also very reasonable with no excess for full coverage insurance. Only thing is that the van was a bit dirty and had trash left over from previous driver. Other than that the customer service was also very good and responded quickly.

NO MINIMUM AGE RENTAL! We got a 2 year old Corolla with 100,000km in sublime condition that drove beautifully. But apart from the car, the service and convenience was what made this rental easy. We had after hours pickup, and it was a simple pickup at the airport, and drop off at the car. On return, same easy drop off at the airport. No hassle! Because I held a P-plate license in Aus, I didn't have many rental options, but Snap was great. Price too was very decent (with full insurance compulsory for young drivers). Definitely recommend to drivers especially under 21 for easy rental with a very good car.

Hired a car for 12 days from Snap - got a pickup at the airport and back to the rental shop - 10 mins and we were on our way - easy and quick. The car was clean and mechanically sound . The return was equally simple and then got dropped at the airport. Highly recommend 👍

Mixed review. The check-in process was a bit long and confusing (~30 mins, not including wait time), and the shuttle never arrived to pick us up at the airport. The car was great though (18 day rental, 3700 km driven), and they gave a 1-pager that made it easy to find all the critical info we needed quickly. The price was also great (~480 NZD for 18 days, unlimited miles). The return process at a different location took a while too (15-20 mins), but only because there was no one present in the office (they were out back). Once they realized they had a customer it took just 2-3 mins. The staff were very friendly and helpful both in Christchurch and in Auckland.

Our rental from Christchurch was o.k. but let down by the dirty condition of the car, especially the windscreen. When we picked up the car it was night time and raining, trying to navigate strange roads with a dirty screen inside and out was difficult and not very safe. In the morning I cleaned the windscreen of its grime and also washed and cleaned the car overall. In all other respects the car was good and the pick-up and drop-off procedures went smoothly. As an aside, next time I will choose a more powerful car, one that will cope with our hilly countryside with less struggle.

Only problem is we arrived in Auckland pretty late in the evening n we missed the pick up at the airport due to our confusion with pickup point at the airport terminal. Also, took us a while to find our way to the North Shore accommodation as we desperately tried to figure out how to operate the car GPS navigation. Would be helpful if Snap could provide some simple instruction for the navigation system. Also being not used to Renault, seat adjustment can be a bit tricky as the adjustment control is lower than other cars. Took probably couple of minutes to locate the lever!! Silly me.

Experience with the car was great. Unfortunately the return process was not the same. Beware this company will try to screw you for damage that was there prior to uplift. If uplifting after hours they do not supply with a list of damages on the car. They just state on the damage panel of the booking "photos taken of damage" . On this ocassion I was able to convince the damage as prior. Their photography is of poor quality.

Rented a Toyota yaris, was driving around Christchurch for 3 days without any issues until engine malfunction indicator light illuminated on penultimate day of road trip after we drove 3hrs from Christchurch to Oamaru. Miraculously, the issue sorted itself out without us doing anything to the car after an hour. We called Snap again and they got in touch with AA to undo the roadside assistance. Hired a Toyota Corolla for a 28 day trip around the South Island. The Corolla was as adverised about 4yo, but in excellant condition. Easily accommodated 2 large suit cases plus one set of golf clubs with only one third of the rear seat down leaving heaps of room in the back for hand luggage etc. We drove many miles over all sorts of roads and the Corolla handled everything with ease. Snap were great with the airport pick-up and initial paperwork and even quicker when we returned, plus happy to drive us to our accommodation afterwards. The staff were friendly and helpful and the price and proximity to Christchurch airport was good. Unfortunately the rest was not so good. The Snap phone system was down at Christchurch, so contact with Auckland was the only way to let them know we were at the airport. Apart from being dirty, having dents and scratches all over, having bad suspension bangs and rattles, wheel vibrations at 100km/hr, shuddering brakes and no windscreen washers the car was reliable and economical. No Snap offices south of Christchurch so we had to put up with it. A 5 year old Corolla with 170,000kms might be time for retirement.

3 stars because you need to pay extra to reduce the standard $2000 excess to $200. After the extra charges the rental price is similar, if not more than other companies, so it is a hidden cost unless you want to dice with the hefty excess.There are other rental companies that offer a NIL excess for these extra costs. The car was ok, had plenty of wear and tear on the outside but it was reliable and the vehicle choice as per booking was available.The counter service was good, pickup and dropoff from and to the airport is provided hassle free. There is a small charge for different location return so check prior.

Although we booked an older car the Nissan Tiida was older than I expected - a 2005 model with almost 200,000km on the clock. When I got to our first stop at Kaikoura I discovered that the oily smell was due to the oil filler cap being absent and oil being sprayed all over the engine compartment. We had to stay in Kaikoura until it was replaced. However the response from the Snap team was very good and we got sorted. Despite its age the car ran well and got us to all the places we wanted to go comfortably, so I give them 4 stars.
