the van was spotless and very well designed - all the things you REALLY want like good solar allowing days on end off-grid with cold fridge and charging power. also the storage was plentiful and accessible even when you leave the bed down. the team were local individuals who dealt fast with my many enquiries and always thoughtfully. you don't get this with the other companies. i have hired many NZ campers and this company has been the best by far.

Really helpful dealing with our bookings around COVID lockdowns, great service on arrival and drop off, great pricing and the vehicle was very well appointed with quality fittings and great equipment. We were so happy that we decided to book with a NZ private company for our Campervan holiday in these times. The staff and service were outstanding.The campervan was so clean and tidy and lived up to our expectations. Even though we experienced a fridge failure it was actioned immediately and we had a working fridge the very next day. We will be back!

First time hiring a campervan and could not have been more impressed. Started at the booking stage. Only required camper for 5 days and the team were fantastic. Gave us a 5% discount plus one day free. We hired the Koru 2ST Walkthrough. Was really impressed with the van. Easy to drive and more than met our needs. Loved every minute our journey exploring the West Coast. Will certainly be booking again.

This is an excellent kiwi company that punches well above its weight. Beautiful and practical NZ built motorhomes perfectly suited to travel around our country. Staff were so friendly and the demonstration on how to use the camper was better than anything I have ever experienced from the larger THL companies. Fully recommend these guys. You won't be disappointed. And no road user charges to pay on drop-off! Brilliant 👍👍

Service was fast and efficient. Great communication. No complications at all to collect and return the vehicle. We rented the Koru Star 2 Freedom for 4 nights of free camping and were very happy with it. Everything worked beautifully. The diesel heater is amazing, kept us nice and warm when it was zero Celsius outside. Wenderkreisen is by far my favorite campervan company in NZ now.

Wonderful 16 day trip. Koru star 2 was very easy to drive and everything worked perfectly. Was able to travel at or just under the speed limit and plenty of power for the hills.We did 3000km so spent a bit on diesel, but the road tax is included in your hire cost so the total cost is quite economical. Can't comment on the phone support because we didn't need it. It was a pleasure dealing with them. Would certainly book them again if we do another trip.

Excelent service and very good relation price-quality. We traveled both islands during one month with Koru Star St (v80 campervan). We didnt have any mechanical problem during our trip and the only little minor issue we had with the door of our fridge was solved very efficently by the Wendekreisen team. It is great that they provide all the needed bed linen and also chairs and tables, without extra charge. I would recommend this campervan. Even if it is a bit more expensive than other models, having a Diesel Engine you save really a lot of money on fuel, so in the end its really worth to upgrade.

This is the first time.i have ever done a google review but this company was amazing! Incredibly helpful over the phone with any questions about booking. Super easy collection and drop off process. Everything done with a smile. We had a basic 2 person van which was very economical on both diesel and gas and once we worked out how to use the space it was all we needed. Thanks for being part of an incredible holiday!!

I had a fantastic experience with Wendekreisen. We hired one of their vans for 10 days and the 2 berth LDV vehicle was really good. It was well serviced, clean and great to drive. The service from the booking to collection to return was amazing. We got clean (possibly new) bed linen, pillows and duvet. The kitchen utensils were well stocked and good quality. The return process was simple with no-hassle. All this for a very competitive price as well. They do pickup and drop off to the airport as well. Overall, it was an amazing hire. Loved the experience. We hired a couple of campers over the new year and had a great holiday. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The vans were in great condition and perfect for our 10 day trip. Friendly, professional people with modern campervans. Ours had a manual gearbox and plenty of power for hills; came with inbuilt shower and toilet, TV (reception only in major cities), linen, bedding, cutlery, plates, bowls, cups, glasses, pots and pans included - even a toaster (campervan needed connection to campground power). Easy to use website to assess the vehicle options available, obtain a quote and book, plus read invaluable information on NZ to plan routes and places of interest for our 11 day South Island trip . Free pick up and drop off at Christchurch airport appreciated. Reviewed all available campervan options before booking Wendekreisen - highly recommend them. We'll be back for more South Island travel with them.

We hired a Koru Star 3 Freedom Camper in winter time. Warm and cosy vehicle in the night, runs perfectly with only battery and solar power for lights, charging phone etc., fridge...Helpful and friendly staff.

You've got to love a small family run business that is personal at every level! We highly recommend this company. We were very impressed at the transfers, upgrades, support by phone and quality of vehicle. The price was competitive and the insurance options great. We hired SAIC Motor LDV / KORU STAR 2ST PREMIUM (Manual) for our 5 day trip and had to deal with mechanical issues with the vehicle. Clutch burned and eventually the vehicle stopped to a standstill but the team sent us a replacement vehicle overnight from Christchurch to all the way Balclutha. Also promptly contacted us later when there was a road closure due to flood and allowed extra day free of cost. I should say the vehicle was a lemon, it doesn't have enough power to carry when on hilly terrain and struggled up hill. However I appreciate the help from Wendekreisen team to resolve issues out of office hours. Apart from that we had a nice trip. Thanks, R

A pleasure to deal with the staff and van was in great shape. The only improvement, and it is minor, is to have USB chargers for house battery in the Cora 2 + 1 and sharp knives in the utensil box.

We just finished a fantastic 20-day family holiday around South Island in one of the budget 4-berth campers. It was amazing! the service and friendly staff were easy to deal with and very understanding. Having a diesel with RUC included in the hire price made the trip very affordable. The camper was an older model with high Km but it drove beautifully and was perfect for what we wanted. Crusied easily through Milford and over the mountains from Nelson to Abel Tasman. Wendekreisen provied everything we needed including transport from and to the airport. I do recomend getting the windscreen insurance as there were lots of roadworks and loose gravel in rural areas.

Rented a 6 berth van late April, early May 2019. The positives were excellent booking system, comprehensive instructions, friendly helpful staff, free transfers, mechanically well maintained vehicle and ideally located near the airport in Christchurch. The accommodation was adequate with plenty of bedding, linen and cooking equipment. Unfortunately the van is getting a bit tired. Not one of the gas struts in the cupboard worked, the gas stove ignition didn't work so matches were used, the TV could only be viewed if sitting directly in front of it although it wasn't used much due to poor reception around the country. The remote control to lock the vehicle was temperamental and needed new batteries and there was no available working reversing camera, even though one was fitted. I would use the company again but maybe insist on a van which is in better condition or inspect the van beforehand to see if would be acceptable.

This company is great! Friendly, helpful staff at both Auckland and Christchurch depots. We got a budget 2 berth campervan which was big enough for 2 adults and small enough to negotiate winding roads. We visited during the NZ winter and the price was a third of the high season. Other companies were charging more than twice what we paid for smaller vehicles. If you're not accustomed to driving a standard shift, I would recommend hiring an automatic shift because driving on the left side of the road takes a few days to get comfortable.

Great experience renting a campervan for 6 weeks! We rented a small 2 person van, Kuru ST 2-Berth and it was perfect for two adults. No major issues with the van. Very friendly and helpful staff. Positive: - Online contact per email for quote and information went quick and easy, answer within two days. - Got more discount than the website stated we would get, which made Wendekreisen the second cheapest, next to Happy rentals. Decided to go for Wendekreisen because the van looked slightly better and smaller company with hopefully better customerservice. - Service was awesome! Pick-up was right on time, friendly staff and was fairly quick. Terms and conditions are reasonable and no pushing on buying extra' s or insurance. Also got helpful tips and good free coffee! - There is a pantry where previous renters leave their leftover food and stuff, for new renters to use. Great to get free essentials like garbagebags, toilet paper, dishwash etc. -24/7 helpline was quick and friendly. On our first day we noticed some strange noise while driving over 60 km/h. Got back to Christchurch, they checked the van and fixed the issue within 3 hours. Got half a day rentalmoney back without asking. Note: helpline is free from 08-20h, you may be charged outside these hours. - Got extra bedding for free for the colder April/May months. - Purchases under $50 dollar are reimbursed, bought a new fryingpan because the current one was old. - Drop-off in Auckland went quick. Within 20 minutes everything was done and they arranged a taxi for us to get to Auckland CBD for cheaper than the Airport-City bus. Negative: - We rented a heater for $15, we saw newer/better model heaters being sold at the Warehouse for $12-$20. - Fuel consumption is not as reported; website states 14 km per litre, we got 7-8 km per litre max. - Van was not well insulated. We got some mold at the end of our trip due to moisture inside. - Camper was a little old and rundown, 300.000+ km. But everything worked well, was clean and we had no mechanical or other issues.

We hired a Koru Star ST2 Freedom self contained campervan for 28 days and travelled both islands. The campervan was in very good condition, worked faultlessly for the entire period, was economical to run and met all our expectations. Having solar on the roof to charge the house batteries easily handled the power requirements and enabled us to freedom camp for almost our entire holiday, saving considerable expense. We found the staff at both pick up and drop off points very helpful and courteous. Would readily use this company again

Very happy about my rental of the ldv v80! We stayed on the south island in winter for 52 days in it! Then rented same model on the north island for another week. Everything worked great! The front wheel drive was very good in the slick conditions as the diesel engine is above it giving good traction.(unlike the oversized rear wheel drive sprinter vans of other companies) It was fairly good on diesel averaging about 9km per liter (22 mpg) water heats while you drive and if your quick you can get 4 showers out of the tank and still do your dishes. Water Stays hot overnight even in the winter! Running Propane Heater at night and propane stove cooking will last about 2 days per bottle and there are 2. There are free dump stations at most bp stations on south island and most parks will let you dump and fill water for $5_$10. I was very satisfied! It wasn't the biggest van but that made it nice so you could still find parking and manuver on nz's smaller roads.They were very kind an showed us all the features of the vehicle before we left and gave us a sheet to check off if anything was damaged before we left so we knew what we were liable for. Both locations were conveniently located near the airport and they came and returned us both times! looking forward to doing it again next year!!

My wife and I have had a Koru Star 6 berth for 3 years in a row while travelling around the South island. It was the perfect way to see the beautiful scenery . We were impressed with the vehicle and its many features. I would encourage anyone to hire from the lovely friendly team at Wendekreisen Christchurch and I will certainly be doing it again in the near future.

We enjoyed our rental with Wendekreisen. Staff was friendly and helpful. The vehicle we received was in quite good condition but had some minor dents. They could have told us that the media player add-on wasn't needed as the built in TV already has a DVD slot and even an USB connector. Their phone hotline was quite helpful when we had some trouble during our travel.

This is a second tier campervan hire place. For our holidays, we decided to use this company and we got a Koru 2+1 berth Toyota hi ace hi-top campervan. It was also certified as self-contained which made it suitable for freedom camping. A bit of hiccup when we took delivery of the vehicle because they were waiting for a locksmith to check the central locking. Pre delivery briefing was very good and fairly comprehensive. Because of the delay, we got a refunded large breakfast from next cafe which was a much appreciated bonus. Trouble free throughout and we really packed the miles and was our home for 3weeks. Very comfortable and though the vehicle getting a bit long in the tooth, the engine performed at 12ltrs/100km. On return, the staff were very friendly and accommodation and final checks did not take long. Courtesy shuttle to the airport. We will definitely us this company again.

Great people excellent service well set out campervans. 6 speed manual with simple cruise control if you read the manual. Very spacious massive bed. Put your heel at the base of the accelerator and whole foot on the plate. Lots of Revs for 1st and second gear then you're away laughing. Very economical diesel engine noisy in first 2 gears then very quiet after that.

Davon abgesehen lief wirklich alles reibungslos, vom Anmieten, der Bezahlung bis zur Abgabe absolut keine Probleme. Das Personal war sowohl in Auckland als auch in Christchurch sehr kompetent, freundlich und hilfsbereit.
