B.An excellent service. Takes the stress out of leaving the airport - the shuttle service is great. Cheaper because it's not on airport site. The best part is bringing the car back. There is a gas station right next door to Omega cars which means no stressing about where to fill the vehicle up. We will definitely use Omega Cars again.
j.Great experience. Had a late check in and the car was ready, clean and with a full tank of petrol. Instructions on collecting the car were clear and we dropped it off at a different depot for ease.
I spoke to the customer service team to ensure everything had gone through and they were very friendly. Would recommend.

Air NZ changed our flights nine hours before we were due to fly out which meant that we arrived in Wellington later than expected and left earlier than expected. Omega rentals were flexible in the arrangement. The car was clean and tidy, and the service was top class. Very impressed.

Staff at Wellington completed the formalities on pickup very efficiently. After hours drop off was extremely convenient too. On all three occasions we hired for periods between 10-14 days. t.No pick up of the car from the airport you need to be picked up and taken to their depot, minor inconvenience which does help keep the cost down. Some however may dislike this aspect.
P.Car was as advertised and airport pickup smooth. We changed our dropoff point midway through the hire and that was easy to do. Only negative was that the car was not clean when we picked it up. Otherwise would’ve been a five star

m.Arranged rental car from Melbourne for pick up Wellington. Omega were fantastic all the way-understanding when I had to cancel booking due to lockdown and then so helpful with rebooking. Clear instructions for after hours pick up and drop off-really needed on a dark freezing cold midnight arrival into NZ! Car in perfect condition and most competitive price of all rental companies I checked out. Will use again and highly recommend.

T.After a minor hick up at the Wellington Airport on pick up we experienced friendly and experienced staff at the office. The car was well maintained and we had a great trip through the North Island. We left Auckland on a early flight and had no problems leaving the car at Park & Ride and getting the bus to the airport. You do need to contact the company when you arrive at the airport so they can pick you up (we were a little confused here - thought they were going to meet us as they had our flight number). T.We hired the 'luxury SUV' option for a long road trip. The car was clean, operated perfectly, and very comfortable. We were given good advice on pickup, and the drop-off was straightforward. We were happy with the price, for the options we chose. When we emailed to advise windscreen damage (trucks on the Desert Road can throw a stone mighty hard!), the reply was very prompt and told us exactly what we needed to know. Very happy to find a dog-friendly car hire service! We intend to use Omega again for our next road trip.
[Update] After a second hire - this time choosing a bottom-of-the-range priced vehicle - we're just as happy, and have decided Omega will be our preferred vehicle hire option for any future trips. These folks are super-approachable and very understanding about the little things that don't go to plan. Cheers, folks!
l.A great car rental company. They'll pick you up from the airport promptly and reverse that for your departure. The cars are always peppy and they're easy to get a hold of at the end of a phone. Highly recommended. They're charges also beat all other companies.

I needed to rent a vehicle for a research trip I was taking around the North Island and found that Omega had not only great reviews, but a really good price, especially for me as a student! When I arrived at Wellington, I was picked up in a timely manner and was given a beautiful red Toyota. The car drove extremely well and was clearly well maintained. At the end of my trip, it was a very smooth transition and the gentleman who drove me back to the airport was incredibly kind and courteous. Absolutely fabulous rental experience and I certainly go with them again any time I need a vehicle.
D.I booked a rental just a day before and the process was really smooth. The staff were friendly, and the courtesy shuttle from and to the airport really helps. If you decide to use the shuttle I recommend arriving before 4:30pm because that’s the time of their last shuttle to go to the airport or to their rental dealership. Overall a smooth experience and will be using them again for future travels.

R.Generally good cars at quite a few levels, you get what you pay for so prices of course vary but overall prices are very good especially compared to the rental companies based at the airport. Service is smart and the pick ups plus drop offs are reasonably quick and easy.

Sue at the Nelson office is always awesome to deal with and the pickup in Wellington was easy. No delays. We were picked up from the airport promptly and taken to our awaiting car. M.I used omega car rentals because of the discount as part of the work perks. I am so satisfied with them. the car that they lent me is a nissan tiida (idk the year though). It looks really new, well maintained and very clean. Unfortunately, the side mirror had a chipped and idk where I got it hit but the claims are super easy to fill out and since I bought the gold cover, I did not pay any excess. the insurance fee for gold is not bad for the price and the cars that omega offers are cheaper compared to other car rentals even without the discount.

A.Car was affordable, clean, not the greatest to drive though. They did pick us up from the airport for $5, so we didn't need to get a taxi.
The staff memeber at drop off was really unfriendly, kind of ruined the whole thing. Hope they learn to say hello or smile for future customers

D.Wellington Pick-Up driver was a bit rude and very uncommunicative which made both rides quite uncomfortable but the man at reception was friendly and helpful. Car was a Mazda Demio which was very clean, tidy & fuel efficient which was great. If you don’t have a credit card they don’t accept debit cards so either you have to pay bond or buy insurance which i didn’t realise before arriving

C.We were very happy with the overall experience. The online booking system was easy to follow. We were sent instructions for where the car would be parked and it was exactly where they said it would be. The car (Rav 4) was enjoyable to drive, clean and no issues with presentation. We received instructions on what to do with the car upon our return, as we were picking up and returning outside office hours. These were very easy to understand and dropping the keys back to Air New Zealand (with whom we were flying) fitted in with us perfectly.

Because they aren't based right at the airport this helps them keep their prices incredibly low, and they run a free shuttle service to pick you up and drop you back to the airport so no stressing trying to navigate the airport or find parking. Their cars are immaculately clean and tidy with a type to suit anyone, and check in is quick and easy. I will definitely use them in the future and happily recommend them!

D.As on previous occasions, all was seamless and excellent. And a great rate too for 13 days Wellington Airport to Auckland Airport. The 2012 Nissan Tiida was very clean and comfortable, easily swallowed our luggage, and returned 15-16km/litre, so very economical, as well as being a nice car to drive (apart from moving a bit in very high winds). I was able to return the car at 7am,and the Omega team had me at the Auckland Airport terminal before 7.20am. That's excellent service. Highly recommend this company.

K.Normally excellent service but this time it slipped noticeably. Long wait for pick up even though told driver at airport . Driver impatient and made it obvious client should walk at speed which with walking stick and bag difficult.On return to airport dropped off at pick up point downstairs in arrivals long walk to departure level where normally dropped off .Car excellent but could do better and normally do on customer services
T.We got picked up from the airport on a mini bus van, we had to call when we were ready, felt that they should’ve been waiting for us as the flight and arrival time was notified on booking. Other than that I can’t fault the service, all staff are friendly and helpful. Car was clean and tidy, in good condition and staff walk you through any damage if any on car.
Returning the car was an even faster service, petrol station right across the road for convenience of the tank top up, and then they, drop off back to airport again the staff at this end of the service were efficient and friendly. Definitely will use again next year.

All of the staff that I interacted with were courteous and extremely helpful.
I found it really helpful that there is a service station just across the road from the Wellington Omega Rental Car depot. This made it so much easier for me to fill up with petrol and check the tyres before returning the car. There's also a vacuum (with fragrance) available at the service station, at a cost of $4.00.

A.Good service from the Omega Rental team, quickly picked up from the airport and driven to the depot where the car was ready to be driven out. The car was nice and clean, the price is affordable. Good value for money. I wanted to extend the rental for a few more days, called them and was told that it couldn't be done but when I went to return it, was told that an extension could be accommodated. They could have offered me another car/deal but didn't so had to go through the hassle of returning and hiring another car from another rental company for 3 days. This was a bit disappointing.

We accidentally arrived at the wrong office upon drop off by staff were happy to take the car anyway to save us a trip to the other side of town.

D.September 2019. We were really pleased with Onega car rentals in Wellington. We choose them because the price was best (by far of the ones I looked at) and a good location close to the airport.
Their catch phrase is something like 'honest and up front' - and they were - because we had two minor dings - something they would have been in the right to charge us several hundred dollars for - but they didn't because it didn't really impact on the car and it's something they could mainly fix themselves- l like they say, 'honest and up front,' back, something I was fearful they could charge me a couple of hundred dollars fir (estimate) but because it was so minor they said to not mind about it.
Also all the staff were friendly, especially Ali, who was so cheerful and nice and who dropped us and our big stack of luggage at the airport.
Also, there is a petrol station right outside the office so ready to fill up at the end.

D.Affordable, no frills and very easy. At first I thought not having a desk at the airport was a pain, but a shuttle picked me up within 5 minutes. The driver was friendly, as was the chap at the office. Unlike conventional rentals, this is more relaxed. The remote office allows them to give me a better rate.
The return was just as easy. Filling station across the road. 1minute inspection and handover. The return shuttle took me back within 5minutes. No fuss. I like it!.

P.The pick up from the airport was very efficient. The car was immaculate and exactly what we had booked. The car went well. The return of the car was handled efficiently and quickly and we were dropped off at the airport in a timely manner. A huge plus for using Omega Car Rentals is there is a fuel station directly opposite their depot and the fuel price compares well with those outside of the Wellington City Boundaries.

M.Fantastic! Prices compared very well to other companies. When i made an error and booked at Christchurch instead of Wellington, Bevan fixed things up very quickly. Car was great, bond (applicable because i have a debit card not credit card) was back in our acct in less than 24 hours. A lift back to motel was offered when my partner dropped car back. Couldn't fault them and would highly recommend them for competitive prices and friendly service.

B.Pick up from airport was quick. At the rental place, they copied the licences , we signed the contract. We took insurance with 0 excess. The Toyota corolla provided was very clean, I think we got 2016 model. Gas was full tank. They clearly explained where to return the car in Auckland. Overall great experience. We took care about the tolls by paying it online after the trip. Only improvements I will suggest is to have the full road side assistance included in the insurance , also the liability coverage in case of an accident was bit unclear.
S.Omega Rental Cars were excellent to deal with. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and although the rental base was a 5 min drive from the airport, the shuttle service they offered worked well. The car (Toyota Carolla) was clean and easy to drive, and had plenty of boot space for our family of 4. We fitted in 1x large and 1x medium suitcases and 2x medium duffle bags and a few other smaller bags. I would certainly recommend hiring a car from this company and will do so again if we return to NZ for another holiday.

Z.Hired an older Nissan with low kilometres. car was in great condition and gave us no problems. Service at Wellington airport was terrific with pick up and drop off even on a public holiday. A guy in a truck reversed into the car and put a small dent in it but Omega allowed him to pay the $400 excess so no charge to us. Definitely worth paying extra to reduce the insurance excess. Will definitely hire from them again.

The car was waiting for us in the carpark at the Wellington airport on our arrival, all the paperwork and inspection report was there for us. The car was well maintained and we had a great trip through the North Island, we drove 2500kms without any issue.
We left Auckland on late flight and had no problems leaving the car at the main office (open until 7pm) instead of the Park & Ride as we had previously arranged. The return was effortless and walk around inpection of the car done in a monent.
Our shuttle bus driver was funny as in his conversations getting us to the airport.
We have no hesitation to recommend Omega Rental Cars.

Picking up the car was a quick process, no mucking around so we were on the road in no time. The car we had was excellent. Didn't skip a beat. Roomy and fitted 8 of us plus all our luggage. Had two car seats already installed on pick up for the kids. Dropping off the car was quick and simple, no mucking around, straight into the Omega shuttle and to the airport for our flight home in no time. Best car rental company I have ever used. V.About third time I have hired a car from this company in Wellington. Rep arrived quickly at airport but transfer was delayed while he looked for a second customer. Collection of car was okay. Car - a Toyota Vitz - was showing its age a bit but performed okay for the 400km I did. Overall good value for the price.

J.Initial car rental period was for two days, but my car's repair was not able to be completed on time. They handled extending my rental period for two more days with no issue. Very simple! V.We were collected by Omega within 10 minutes of phoning for the shuttle collection to go to the omega office. The paperwork was easy and the man helpful, we were on the road within 10 minutes. We were given a modern and immaculately clean toyota.We chose to pay the extra fee to leave it at the airport after office hours. Would happily use them again.

T.Was picked up from the airport to their warehouse. Didn't take long to process the paper work. Childs seat installed as well by their team which also didn't take very long either. Hired the small economy car and did the trick, especially with gas prices there in Wellington. Ended up only using a quarter of a tank in the 5 days we were there and filled up before returning the vehicle only costing $35. We also had an early morning flight back to Tauranga. Office was open at 7.30am and once all paper work given, was at the airport at 7.45am with plenty of time for our 8.30am flight. Thanks again!

When our flight was delayed and we were left waiting 9hrs at airport with 2 young kids due to the delay we had reached and of our tether but rung omega rentals on Xmas eve to explain why we were delayed and they were so kind and accommodating ! car great also. Would recommend omega 100%. Please also thank the staff member on Xmas eve round 5pm , he was great .
B.Overall good service if you are not in a hurry, but it was not made clear that the depot was not in the Wellington Airport until after I had made the booking. Also even though I gave Omega my flight number, they were not ready to pick me up when I arrived, you have to call them and they come 10-15 min later. Otherwise, friendly service, good value.

They swapped vehicle to a Subaru Forester at Wellington which serviced us very well for next 2 weeks. Staff were helpful and obliging and the process quite seamless. The return of vehicle at Auckland was very simple and swift. Bottom line, a good company to deal with.

M.The guys at Omega Wellington picked us up from the airport on time and drove us to the depot where we picked up our car. The cars we had was not brand new (I guess some of their cars are brand new but personally I like to rent used cars) which was great because we drove around the NZ north island and got the car a bit dirty. When we returned we drove the car in to the depot, they checked it, and the guys took us to the airport literally a minute later. We took out insurance with Omega as well and the whole car was covered in with no excess and the insurance was a good price. I totally recommend these guys if you just want a good car with no hassles (and no stupid advertising on the cars either).

It got me to where I needed to go; but it had no guts and I had to continually change down to low gear for speed when taking off from give way and stop signs. It was spacious and roomy. Next time I think I will get a better quality car for a better quality price,.

Just one suggestion that would be nice ( though yet another thing to clean up between hires) would be for somebody to delete the added "phones" to the bluetooth system so we could have added ours to listen to some music. N.Overall the experience were good however we were slapped with a $2500 bond because we bought the insurance on the website when we booked the car. As we had no credit card we had to move money to an account and paid the bond. These could be made less complicated on the website or communicated better on the website as we were told that we have used an agent.

F.I got two different cars and experiences during my trip. First car in Christchurch was perfect. Very friendly staff and everything was OK. Nothing to say. My second experience was less good. In Wellington airport I had to fight to get the car I booked. After I paid, the guy gave me a Toyota witz pretending no Mazda demio was available since there were a lot of them around us. Obviously a Toyota witz is not as comfortable to drive as a Mazda demio (for example to check your speed is not under your eyes but in the middle of the dashboard and it's very nervous to drive. ..). That's why Toyota witz are less expensive than a mazda but the guy forgot this detail pretending it was equivalent. I finally succeeded in getting the car I paid for it but it was super long and unpleasant. One advice : do not accept if it happens to you especially if you are a young woman, and avoid to arrive after closure time. I was supposed to do so and get a car waiting for me. Luckily I could come before closing and claim for a Mazda. Otherwise it would be presented with a fait accompli.
H.This is the second time I have used Omega. Their prices are affordable and the cars reliable. Pick up and processing is fast. Would use again. I highly recommend getting the Gold Insurance cover for peace of mind.

But 2 system issues.
1. A/hrs pick up fee of $34 should have come up long before final contract.
2. With A/hrs pickup there was a requirement to email licence and credit card details a second time.
These should not happen in this day and age and the second practice is very risky.
R.We are two persons on holidays travelling North from Wellington and had a good experience with Omega. We had no problems at all with the car, which was small and affordable. After returning the car they drove us to our accommodation close to the airport. Thanks and hope to rent again in future holidays.
J.Hired an older car that turned out to be a Nissan Sunny, about a 2002 model. Went like a train, was presented in a clean and tidy state by very helpful staff at Omega's Wellington City depot. Did 1,100 ks in 7 days and dropped it back at Wellington Airport at 5am as we had an early morning departure. All instructions about drop off were clear and subsequently worked well.

When we dropped the car off on Auckland we dropped it a day early so we could settle in to the hotel which was at the airport and there place was so close and you could fill up and take the car back which was great most times when we take a car and drop off your roaming around looking for a petrol station so that was a bonus on the way there.
A.Low cost but nice car. Lost a star because I thought the Rental company was at the airport, not stationed nearby. I dislike having to be ferried backwards and forwards to airport and the website did not make that clear enough. However, the service was good.
r.I rate Omega Rentals very highly as they provide great value and friendly first class service at both their central Christchurch location and also at nearby Wellington Airport. The shuttle link between the airport and Miramar is excellent and by being out of the airport complex they can provide more economical value to the vehicle hire. In both my recent visits I have enjoyed superb white toyota cars - great value. Will use Omega Rentals always on my travels in New Zealand.

J.Search the net for a cheap reliable car and came across the Omega site. After finding them the cheapest by far ( although for an older vehicle, ) I booked it with some trepidation. On arrival I was greeted by a friendly face and everything was explained to me, although it didn't take long as it was so fast and simple. The vehicle I was given was a small manual car with the odd knock and blemish, but by no means a wreck or old banger. It was clean inside and out with a very decent sized boot. We used the car for a week and found it very reliable, economical and had more than enough power to keep up with everyone on the roads. All in all, extremely good value for money, which I honestly believe you would be hard pushed to beat anywhere else, and topped off with very pleasant and helpful staff..

S.Thanks Omega for good car, Corolla, went well etc, and your pickup service was very friendly etc. The unintended reschedule by me meant an after hours drop off for Wellington airport using the Z service station. It also worked fine thanks to my organising a taxi (cheap enough) to get me to the airport for my new flight. One gripe, was the previous customer had underfilled the tank, which dropped on the gauge significantly within 15km. If you can find a way of ensuring the tank is fully fiiled, that would be great and hopefully the cheat is rewarded appropriately along life's path. Cheers, see you again.

H.I rented from Omega on two sectors recently. 1. Christchurch to Queenstown and 2. Wellington to Auckland.
On second sector the car was below par. Although there was just two of us in the car. The car did not have sufficient pulling power for 1800 cc Toyota Corolla Sedan 2014.

G.Service provided as advertised. Pricing presented fair value - considerably cheaper than major brand competitors.
However...note that they are located off-site in Miramar, Wellington. The airport to depot transport took about 15 minutes to pick us up - acceptable. However there was no baby seat available in the transfer vehicle which put us all in a difficult position vis-a-vis the law.
Vehicle was clean, tidy and in good order.
On return we had to pay the airport return surcharge because we returned after 4:30pm. This should be at leat office hours and, I would suggest, actually 5:30pm to be fair as I think very few people can get to their depot and then the airport after using their vehicles for a work visit to Wellington.
In spite of all that even with the surcharge applied Omega still offer very good value.
G.The rental cars are down the road from the airport but the uniformed staff pick you up and have you in your car within 10 minutes of pickup. A good variety of cars too - with modern subaru AWD traction control models.
G.The booking and office service is fantastic. The only gripe (although in fairness Omega do tell you before hand) is the excessive after hours carpark fee. There must be an alternative than having a $33 fee for parking when you collect.

S.I've rented through Omega a few times in the past year and every time I've received friendly and efficient service. The bonus of being able to drop off the car at the airport car park out of hours is a real winner for me. I don't need a flash car - just to get from A to B easily and the cars at Omega Rentals suit me prefectly.

A.The premium budget car (Toyota Vitz) I hired was a great value for my three-week holiday on the North Island. I picked up this car in Wellington and dropped it off in Auckland. The person at the Wellington office gave good instructions about using the remote keyless start feature and did a thorough inspection of the car before I drove off with it.
The only unusual thing was that the car did not have a user's manual. This is the only car that I've ever hired that did not have a user's manual tucked away somewhere inside. During my trip, I had to look up a few things about its operation on the internet (when I actually had access to Wi-Fi, which wasn't always in the moment).
For example, the clock was not set to the correct time (no one had updated it for daylight saving time), so I had to set it myself. There were also some errors that occurred with the remote keyless entry system. Apparently, just walking some distance away with the fob and then returning seemed to solve those, but it would have been nice to be able to look up these problems in the user's manual instead of just winging it.
D.Imagine arriving to Wellington Airport on Good Friday and not having booked a car, you venture to the various car rental desks to be told by all of them they are all booked out. Obviously. Cue, 2 phone calls later, and one short taxi ride to miramar, Omega was able to lend out a car at an affordable price and all done 10 mins after the guy was supposed to finish. Use these guys at any opportunity you get, they really live up to their promise of: "Up Front and Honest reliable car rental service". I would give one more star if I could!

J.The shuttle pick up is a bit cumbersome. Waited about 45 mins to be picked up from the airport. Poor instructions about where to wait. The shuttle was ok on the way back to the airport. In future would book one of the companies with an office in the terminal as we were travelling with a baby and the savings in $ was not worth the inconvenience. The car was in good condition.

T.We (three guys from Germany) had a Mazda Pemacy 1800 from your pool for three weeks and were very satisfied during that time.
The car was in a good condition, and especially the air condition worked pretty well, which was often very comfortable during that time of year (March)...
The fuel consumption was acceptable with respect to the size of the car and NZ road conditions.
There's only one thing which I think could be improved (but I'm not a technical expert, so I'm not sure if this is possible): on uphill roads, especially while passing other cars, the gears shifted pretty late in my opinion, and if they shifted, then mostly not only one gear at a time, but at least two; and then it sounded as if pretty much fuel went through the exhaust in short time.
Our special thanks go to the guys at the pick up point for having the car ready 2 hours before the agreed time, and to the guys at the drop off point for allowing us to return the car 2 hours after the agreed time :-) Both helped us pretty much in our travel planning. Thanks for this unbureaucratic way of business!!!

Btw (for other potential NZ travellers from abroad who may not know this): it's cheaper to hire a car from your home country than from NZ! In our case, the price for hiring from Germany was ~13% less than if we had hired from NZ!

M.Rental prices were reasonable but you get what you pay for. Cars are not located at the airport however transfer was quick and driver friendly. Staff at Miramar offices on drop off were bored and uncommunicative. Cars are older but in good condition.

Toymotor. The staff at omega cars were lovely and despite 2 weary travellers arriving in the wee hours of the morning their instructions were relatively easy to follow. We travelled from Wellinton, to foxton,carterton, masterton, pamerston north, castle point mt Taranaki loved the possum factory, dannevirke, enjoyed a Viking event and a great coffee shop. Hawera, Inglewood, Oakura - loved the beach, opunaki, manaia yarrows bakery is a “must visit”, wiatara, mokua, Auckland, Hamilton, piopio, ,otorohanga, Pokeno, Waitomo caves must book before doing any tour of the caves. Maungaturoto, Whangarei, and finally Kaitaia. We then travelled back to Wellington via the middle of the island which include Rotorua, Taupo and finally desert road. We would recommend this car hire company to anyone
