K.St Matthew in the City is a stunning building built in Gothic style with a unique wooden ceiling which contrasts beautifully with the white stone body of the building. The theological perspective here is progressive and inclusive with an evening Rainbow service every Sunday at 7.30

O.The restored St Thomas’ Chapel now occupies pride of place in the south transept of the church.
The name St Thomas derives from the St Thomas’ Church, a humble wooden building set amongst the workers’ cottages in Union Street, Freemans Bay, during the first half of last century. St Thomas’ parish was a “mission parish” connected to St Matthew’s city church, but serving the then outskirts of the growing city.
N.We had fantastic gala dinner after our conference here. Great food, fantastic ambiance.
D.Attended this beautiful church for my Daughters wedding Jan 2021, what a beautiful experience. The priest was beautiful, her assistant was so helpful in guiding the wedding party & guests, he fixed her dress and was so lovely. We were able to take as many photos as we wanted in the church. Lovely Experience for the bride, groom, guests and family. Book this church you will not regret it!!!

T.Historically Britain church when I visited in the morning,can not enter. Beautiful but it’s difficult to take a picture of the whole building.
B.It's an ok place for gathering. I also realized that the seats in cathedral usually is not designed to be comfortable. Come on. Don't punish people who go to to cathedrals.
A.A historic Anglican church in the middle of Auckland city, built in 1905. You won't miss it as it's right behind the SkyCity/SkyTower complex. The building is very well maintained and its inside is much modern than you might think. Most of the time the church is busy with activities for their member of congregation.

F.I visited this beautiful church today. All people were friendly there. I really enjoyed. A peaceful place. I am a Muslim. I think all religions have a same message to people: "Good thinking, good talking and good behavior". Thank you Janet for your kindness.
J.A lovely church in the middle of the city with a beautiful community who welcomed us as visitors with open arms. Lovely touches of a soup and bread lunch after the service as well as tea and coffee, and the simple but powerful integration of the local language and culture.
S.Beautiful amazing church. Staff are friendly and lovely. Only change ringing bells north of Hamilton, and one of only 6 in New Zealand. Organ is one of the only of its type in the southern hemisphere, and Paul uses it to great effect. The Rose windows at the west end are fantastic and a sight to see. The memorial windows at the east end are also well worth a look. The church is well involved in the community and does well to support the local homeless, and the Rainbow community.

R.St Matthew in the city is an unusual church. I went to a charity event that was booked in there and apparently the church offers excellent corporate rates for charities to host events. I'm also told that they are one of the quirkier churches out there, accepting all comers regardless of faith and denomination including hosting bring your pet services. What a sight to behold when people come with their dogs and sheep and lizards.
J.Amazing church. We had my sisters wedding here in December. This isn't your usual dark and dingy church. This church is so bright which makes for better photos :)
H.Excellent architecture, truly wonderful design, it is worth to visit this beautiful building which is so close to sky tower. If you wish to take some good photos this is a best location.
K.St Matthew's, or St Matthew-in-the-City, is a historic Anglican church located in the Central Business District of Auckland, renowned for its neo-Gothic style since its completion in 1905.
As the city expanded, residential and commercial buildings sprung up to the west of Queen Street. To serve the Anglicans amongst the growing population, George Selwyn, New Zealand's first Anglican bishop, acquired land from the Crown in 1843 at the corner of Hobson and Wellesley Street. On it a one-room school was built from which Selwyn first conducted services.
The building includes a 1300-year-old stone from the ruins of St Augustine's Abbey, England, and is listed as a Category I Historic Place.It has a peal of 8 bells, most of which were made in 1862, rung in the change ringing style by members of The Australian and New Zealand Association of Bellringers
P.A lovely classical church in good repair and cared for. It is nicely appointed and has good atmosphere.
