H. G.My wife and I stayed at The Royal Opotiki for several nights over the past two weeks. We stayed in a family unit and we found it just right for our needs. There is a great international atmosphere and the facilities were great. They have a great outdoor area to relax in and a fully equipped kitchen to help save money.
Whilst here we also took the opportunity to eat in there restaurant which was exceptional. The food was bar far the best food we had in all of New Zealand. The prices were very reasonable and we never had a meal that we didn’t walk away from feeling full and satisfied with all the flavours. I highly recommend wether your local or not go in and try it. You will go back for more.

R.We went to the Royal for dinner on new year's eve had the most amazing dinner everything was cooked just right, we had 3 courses and enjoyed all of it and luckily for us this night they had inhouse entertainment which was a real treat and 1st class. The staff were great we asked for a recommendation on which sauce would go best with the steak and the waitress could not have made a better choice we will be back again.

Really enjoyable stay, the whole place was very clean with comfortable beds and great rates. Excellent high speed unlimited wi-fi. Owners were very friendly with great advice about nearby beaches.
Kitchen facilities were excellent. Showers had great pressure and temperature.
Only downside were the TV wasn't connected to an aerial and a café/bar operates weekdays with some rooms above it can hear the music.

L. G.I have eaten in this restaurant on many occasions over the past two and a half weeks and it is some of the best food I have eaten around the world. I have tried many dishes on the menu including desserts and everything was amazing.
The chef and the whole kitchen staff work so well together and the atmosphere in the restaurant is very relaxing.
I highly recommend going into the restaurant for either lunch or dinner and enjoying this amazing new dining location in Opotiki.

N. M.It was a Saturday morning and 12 oclock noon rolled around and we hadn't even finished our laundry. But we choose to have a delicious breakfast served in a lovely manner with the most soul warming meal at the Royal. Where we were later told to be back at 8 for a 70s theme party and a DJ.
So we were in!
R. B.I went here for dinner about a week ago and was wonderfully surprised. Although they had mixed up our reservation they quickly sorted it out and the food was delicious, dessert was my favorite! Lovely waiters and also loved the local art work for sale around the restaurant.

T.I stayed one night at the Hotel. It was a somewhat late arrival, but Heather greeted me with a warm smile. The room was comfortable and clean as was the bathroom. I received a 10% discount in the restaurant as a guest. Heather chatted with me for a bit which was nice as I was travelling sola. Hope you get to have a stay and meet Heather and the others. Opotiki is an interesting town.
k. a.We enjoyed our meal but we found the flies landing on table and our plates was not nice. On entering the Royal we already found the background music really loud.The staff were fantastic and busy.
