J.My wife and I went there because we knew that Boxing sales were on. I needed a pair of hiking shoes. Something more robust than sneakers but not as clumpy as boots might be. The sales assistant was busy, as there were two other customers also buying shoes. After looking at three pairs and trying on two, with the able help from the assistant I was able to reach a decision and make a purchase of some new hiking shoes. The sales assistant was knowledgable and personable. All-in-all a good shopping experience.
J.My partner and I had a great experience shopping here for a motorcycle camping trip we are taking. We were helped by a young man named Jackson who was amazing! He helped us find everything we needed and gave us some great advice for the trip.

V.Big store with great range, and some decent deals to be found in the clearance section upstairs. Customer parking is also a great bonus.
L.This shop is quite large and caters for men women and children.
Wide selection of outdoor clothing although I feel it's more on the expensive side. The best time to go is sale time if your looking for a good deal as they mark the items down around 50 percent.

S.I just loved the service at this store! The staff member who was looking after me, handed over to another member before leaving me to do another task. Best service in one of the stores so far I think.
S.Nicole at Petone Kathmandu was just the sales person I needed to find. I went in looking for tramping boots. She knew the stock thoroughly, and took the time to explain the detailed specs. She was friendly and made me feel like my questions were no trouble. I came out with great boots and socks, and didn't need to shop anywhere else. Stand out service.
B.Clean store with a reasonable variety of goods for the outdoors. I typically only buy during sales as their goods at retail I do find expensive. Generally helpful staff
J.I have been looking at a couple of travelling bags for the last week, and finally had some time to head into the store. I must've been in there for nearly an hour messing around with a number of bags, trying them on... Filling them up, emptying them out... And not a single offer of assistance. Sure, I could have asked but the store was not very busy whatsoever. I even found myself helping out a couple of people who were looking at the same bag as I was. Totally different experience when compared to other Kathmandu stores... So it's not a systemic problem, just one specific to Petone.
E.Sales are the best times to go there. Especially if you're a member.

p.Good review for this store as its a Kathmandu outlet upstairs - huge discounts at that section. I always head there first and i have bought several items here at good quality. But i would NEVER pay full price for kathmandu gear. Store is huge and well laid out. Staff are nice and friendly, not always 100% knowledgeable though. Beware some of the gas etc in this store you can buy in bunnings for much less!!
