E.Was anticipating great meal from here based on ratings. Lucky to find a parking nearby and it isn't costly to park on carlton Gore Road. However, got quite disappointed as it wasn't the standards I would expect from such ratings.
The salad that came along wasn't fresh... Rocket leaves were already turning yellow (and it was quite a turn off for me). The double cheese burger came in 2 small size patties with huge piece of regular bun (that seem to have been bought at supermarket). Hardly much cheese with it. One of the patties had very beefy taste, not something I would expect from fresh meat. Another turn off for me. The sauce was very odd - BBQ sauce with mustard and some mayo. An odd combination that does not blend with the dish. The potatoes was crunchy but after about 2 pieces, you might start to feel its a little salty! When the plate came, it looks odd and unbalance as it looks dry (luckily the table next to us order two burgers too and they straight away also asked for some mayonnaise sauce! This dish need a lot more flavour balance to charge that kind of price.
We also had the creamy mushroom and this was good with mushroom flavours but it lacks balance again with the salad from supermarket packs just won't cut it for the price.
The poke bowl was good but not great.
Overall, it would be a 2.5-3 star for us. Lack balance and they should not give 'yellowing' salad to be served. To me, chef just lack attention to details.

A few weeks ago we accidentally came across their chocolate & berry muffins that were amazing. They've been experimenting with them since then. For instance, today (13 March 2022) they put some 🧀 in. But we prefer just 🍫 🫐: fresh, warm, and moist.
J.Did Billy Cafe change owners? Admittedly it’s been maybe 2 years since I was there last, possibly longer. But it wasn’t what I remember.
First of all, I have a rule when it comes to burgers. If I can’t pick it up eat it, it’s not a burger. This was more of an open sandwich and not really a good one.
The brioche bun was very rich, it tasted like I was eating a slab of butter. The fired chicken was average and as noted before, it was difficult to eat with this unnecessary massive portion.
The fries also came out lukewarm.

R.Have had Sunday brunch nice little care by the domain. Very nice staff and good service. Has an American flavour so there is different fried food choices but also some nice healthy choices. I had the mushrooms which were yum but would not choose the thick cut bacon again because not into the fat enough. My partner had the cheese burger but in a deconstructed manner as he likes it better that way. The lady next to us just ordered off the sides menu which is great if you do not want a big meal and she highly recommends the hash browns.

B.It is easy to pass this cafe when you walk down Carlton Gore cause it lives under the Fuji Xerox building.
The place is quite small but they do have a few large tables inside as well as some smaller ones outside. The menu has a fair selection of items for both food and drink. I tried the double cheese mushrooms and an iced chocolate.
The iced chocolate was ok. Think it needed a bit more of a chocolate bite. The cheesy mushrooms were nice. I quite liked the jalapenos with the mushrooms so they were a bit different from other places. Most items are under $20. Friendly service and quite close to work so a really good lunch option.
N.Absolutely stunning outlook of the domain. Well covered outside and not windy. The hash brown stack is their signature dish and is really good, and very filling. Use supreme coffee and make it extremely well. Not a huge number of tables but you never need to wait long
L.My friend took me here and I totally fall in love with this lovely place. I had the Vegan Breakfast so flavourful and yummy but the crispy kale was a bit greasy. My friend had the Egg Benedict which was very delicious as well. Coffee here was perfect and thanks for letting us try the cold brew and I loved it!
C.Great little cafe near the Domain with an awesome view of the Museum. Coffee was well made and brand are supplied by Supreme, the menu is simple with a few unique touches, well presented on the plate and a decent size. Ordered the vegan breakfast with a side of bacon (there is two options!) and enjoyed everything.
P.Went today and food was good but coffee was off, smelled funny, we didn't drink it and mentioned it when we left and still had to pay for it. Won't be going back.

K.One of my favourite places to have brunch or lunch on the weekends. The coffee is good and the food is absolutely delicious, I have tried a few things on the menu like the creamy mushrooms with added bacon, breakfast bagel, crispy chicken burger. The staff and the owner are so friendly and always make you feel welcome and comfortable. I've taken a few people here and they have also enjoyed it and have returned. The cafe looks onto the beautiful Auckland Domain, is dog friendly with some outdoor seating. I highly recommend.

A.The go to Cafe for a cheat meal! Incredible location that overlooks the domain, great coffee as well! My partner and I tried the chicken burger and were extremely pleased with how they came out! The staff are warm and friendly and the atmosphere is great on a nice sunny day. I know I'm definitely going to be back soon!

J.I LOVE Billy's. We recently moved to the area and come here at least once or twice a week for breakfast/coffee. Their cabinet food (blueberry/banana muffin, scones and caramel slice) are so delicious and when we come in the morning, most of the time their baking has come fresh out of the oven so it is nice and warm. I have tried almost everything on the menu as well and it is all incredible. Also it is a nice sunny spot to sit outside and overlook the Domain. Definitely check out Billy's next time you're in the area, you wont be disappointed.

M.We stumbled into this cafe hungry and exhausted from being tourists after a long flight. We were met with warmth, compassion and a positive vibe. The food was so good, highly recommend the chicken noodle bowl, and there were gluten free options. The coffee was high quality knock your socks off good! If you are headed to the Auckland museum I highly suggest you pop in.
T.Best burgers and waffle fries!! Absolutely love going here for coffee most mornings - depends who is on the coffee machine if it's perfect or not (I am an unashamed coffee snob!).

T.After a bit of a pain to find a park in the area on a weekday at lunch time, I finally got to Billy, and I’m so glad that I didn’t give up and go somewhere else. Both white and black coffees were amazing, food incredible, and service with a smile. I can’t stop thinking about the Smashed Peas!
l.Very generous with the ingredients.. I had the omelette.. It was full of sausages potatoes and spinach evenly distributed.. Very friendly staff.. View was good.. Can even see a bit of the museum.. Great place for a casual brunch.. Keep up with the great work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻..

P.Very good food here, I would highly recommend it. Best food I've had in a while. We came at lunchtime and it was very busy so you might need to hang around a bit to get a table if you turn up at peak times. They were very accommodating to squeeze as many people in as possible though. You can also reserve a table ahead of time if you know you want to come.
