Had our team Christmas lunch here and the staff were very nice. It was my first time to try the lunch menu. I had a steak and it was good and priced reasonably for a generous serving size. Great place to hangout and just see the ambience of the gardens

Checked out Cafe Miko today, such an awesome cafe located inside the Auckland Botanic Gardens. They have a large range of food to go and also a breakfast & lunch menu as well, and the coffee is amazing too. They have an indoor bit and an outdoor part as well with plenty of seating both inside and outside, also it’s dog friendly which is the best part about it. Staff are also amazing and super friendly. If you’re in the area you need to check it out. My recommendation : southern style fried chicken with wedges! Will def be back.

Always great service. Huge meals. Beautiful building. 3 stars because the coffee and food is nice but not extraordinary. Great spot for meetings too.

The burger was reasonably priced. Within 5 minutes I had a very interesting looking burger and a rather small portion of chips. Looking at other reviews, it does seem that the portions are on the small side, and that service can depend on what day you go. If the Cafe isnt for you, then you can go for a nice long walk in the Botanical Gardens.

Very prompt service, and good coffee, nice and hot. I had a BLT and it was tasty, but for my taste, a bit dry. More dressing would have made it much better.

Friendly, quick service, good spacing of tables. Very expensive... $19 for a moccachino in a mug and a rather baconless bacon frittata with a small salad. My friend wasnt offered the salad or fries but paid the same price for her frittata. When asked, server said he was "distracted"

Quite a nice cafe in the great Botanic Gardens. Manurewa. A bit crowded during weekends and public holidays, but they manage reasonably well. Food and drink is OK.

Show you Vax Passport , wear a mask and scan in. Friendly helpful staff. Great food and service. Wheelchair accessible parking and entrance. Toilets on site. Cafe is inside by the gallery part. Entrance through the side doors after scanning Vax Pass. Ice creams and drinks for sale outside of entrance without needing Vax passport. Must wear a mask to purchase anything.

The only thing I keep coming back for are their wedges. So delicious and made perfect every time. Their other menu food is unpredictable. When it's good, it's fantastic. But other times it can be kind of disappointing even when it's the same dish. Portion sizes vary each time as well, almost like it depends on what plate sizes they have on hand. Food is always best in a non busy day. Coffee is almost always lukewarm so I stay away from it. I will always be back for those wedges though! Edit: Came back recently and I was blown away. Their chicken pizza was amazing and loaded with the toppings. And as always, wedges were great! Pulled pork sandwiches were good but wished there was more sauce.

Miko Cafe at the Auckland Botanic Garden’s has friendly service and this very bustling cafe, offers great espresso and the thin crust chicken pizzas are the perfect lunch treat when you’re sat outside on the grass. Despite his busy the cafe gets, service delivery is very good and prices are reasonable. The smoothies are also delicious too, when available.

Food and drinks took quite some time to come out. Our food arrived before our drinks which felt kind of weird. However the iced chocolate was delicious though slightly on the too icy side. I had the pork belly open sandwich which was definitely a large portion but delicious. The pizza the other two ordered to share came out very overcooked to the point some slices were burnt and had to be left uneaten. I gave this a 3 because mine was fine but I felt bad for the others as I definitely would have been unhappy if that's what was served to me.

Arrived at 13:40 on a Monday and was surprised to see the tables full. I had no need to attend the counter so cannot comment on the selection of foods on this visit (normally the counter selection is good). My rating is based on the hot tea that I was served.......and it wasn't! The water temperature was luke warm. Like coffee, ask for 'extra hot' if you like your tea hot!

Neat, tidy and open cafe that serves good quality food. Price is comparable to most other places and obviously gets alot of foot traffic via the gardens. Bonus ⭐awarded for the FREE wifi.

Not very many options for someone who's gone carbless, and of what I eventually managed to settle on (eggs bene with no bread or rosti, but served on mushrooms), they had no mushrooms left. The meal was fine, and the server was fantastic. Just wish there had been more variety in options, especially in regards to salads/carb-free, and more warning while initially ordering that the mushrooms were out.

Very busy and not enough staff on to provide service... plates from previous diners sat on other side of the table for 1.5 hours we were there .. never taken away despite my request- just too busy. And took a long time to get our warm drinks.. then my cappuccino was only lukewarm! I enjoyed my citrus cake.. hence rated 3 instead of 2.

Great location, and fantastic service - really appreciated the friendly team and their willingness to be flexible around our orders, so close to closing time! Lovely friendly atmosphere, so we will definitely be back again soon! Also then enjoyed the Lovell walk around the gardens afterwards, even if the weather was less than average!

Lunch today as a birthday celebration, seven people in the group. We were seated promptly and offered menus and the wait person pointed out there was water available and we were welcome to help ourselves while we decided what to order at the counter. There was a reasonable queue and we expected to wait for a while. however our meals arrived very quickly. The orders were exactly as we ordered, several people ordered extra side dishes, one person didn't want an ingredient in their food, not a simple order for seven people. The order also included alcohol of various sorts and hot drinks - all different - all satisfactorily delivered. It was a most enjoyable meal, well worth the reasonable cost.

I walk in the Gardens most days, always visit Miko's for coffee, and often for lunch. The setting is beautiful, the staff are great. One gripe: If it's after noon I have decaf, and I don't get why it costs significantly more.

Disappointing yesterday. Got there at 1.30pm after walking round the gardens. 2 meals on the menu stopped being served at noon, and further 2 meals were unavailable. So had the fried chicken which was dry, and the eggs Benedict eggs were hard boiled. Cafe was clean, coffee was nice.

The coffee was lukewarm not hot at all, the prices and portions of the meal is not reasonable at all. Ratings are given for the taste and view.

I’d have given a 5 star if it wasn’t such a long wait. That being said the food was coming out fast and the coffee machine was pumping, it was just a busy day at the gardens. Thankfully we weren’t in a hurry and everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked delicious, ours included. I used to come here years ago and the food, the coffee and the service is so much better now. I hope you guys stick around, it will only get better. .

Delicious food, reasonable prices and beautiful venue

Wasn't impressed when placed order for sea food basket was told couldn't do it. When my cousin said it was on menu , if unable to deliver shouldn't be on menu.. Then they decided to do it. Was not happy it lacked of sea food . It delivered small portion of fish , 3 small squid rings and 3 curly crab meat in batter.

Food good (had fresh muffins, saw lots of lunch dishes served). Tables were slow to be cleared, several bypassed to find a clear one... The water jugs are still emply... It was busy but not packed (Friday afternoon). Nice outlook over the garden

Great atmosphere friendly staff

Great Cafe at the gardens. Coffee was great and food options looked awesome. It was nice to chill and have a drink with friends while the kids are playing and the live band playing in the background!

This cafe has improved on it's service. It was very slow service before but has improved. At busy times (when people are queuing out the door) they need to have the person taking the orders, not having to also get the food. It now offers a choice of glasses, cups or mugs for your hot chocolate and the little chocolate marshmallow heart accompanying the hot chocolate is lovely. Still need to make a better hot chocolate, maybe more chocolate will make it taste more like a hot chocolate rather than hot milk. Food selection is very good and the young people working their are excellent.

I had a great experience. The lady serving was so polite and helped me with getting my order right. My mocha was absolutely delicious. The best I've had in a long time

There wasn't much of a selection of food but the cous cous salad was not bad. Coffee is expensive there but my cuppucino was tasty. The customer service I experienced was good, also glad they read out what I had ordered, especially how I wanted my coffee made. Cheers for that!

It was busy but the service was quick. Good food and coffee was excellent. Great place to stop if you have a dog, plenty of shady seating outside with water bowls. SUZZIE Q loved it.

We had breakfast here this morning for my birthday. They didn't have an omelette on the menu but the server suggested scrambled eggs and bacon. We didn't have to wait long. Service was fast and done with a smile. Thank you.

Food was pretty good, unfortunately coffee was average at best...abit burnt for my liking personally.

Food was fine yet no tables had been cleared to take a seat anywhere at least 10 tables still had plates an glasses from previous people had to clear table myself with no apology from staff

I meet a friend every so often at the cafe. We share a very longstanding friendship and enjoyed the atmosphere until a customer felt it was necessary to go into a tirade about the "service" she had received. What a shame she couldn't see past her nose to realise how extremely busy the cafe staff were at that time. I, as my friend and daughter did, found the service has always been excellent and, as many times before, the atmosphere prompted us to write another visit in our diaries. Looking forward to it! 👍😊

Cafe Miko is an excellent place for morning tea, brunch, lunch or just a cup of tea coffee or soft drink. I always enjoy the ambience and the beautiful vistas of the star attraction Auckland Botanic Gardens. This whole place is well maintained and a great pleasure to come to.

The brekky was delishious. The portion was huge and all food was fresh. You can sit outside and have an amazing view to the Botanic Garden and afterwords have a stroll around. Would defo recommend. Restroom outside of the cafe.

19Nov16 Back again. Better service. Good coffee! 26Oct16 Would be a four star rating if the counter staff served customers faster. VERY typical to join a queue at the serving counter and find yourself at the fourth or sixth position. Then you'll wait ten minutes to get to the head of the queue and place your order!! The reasonable tasting coffee, beautiful gardens and views and marvellous atmosphere are spoilt by the lousy service at the counter. Smiles and eye contact would make a difference but staff mostly will blank out a newly arrived customer or waiting customer until the staff member is ready to stop what they are doing. Whatever happened to staff looking up from what is at hand and smiling to say, "Hullo, I'll be with you in a minute!"

Well presented cafe. The coffee is great, the food is a step above ordinary cafe food. It is very popular with the locals. Which is usually a good yard stick to measure the worth of any food establishment. Plus for those inclined, it is licenced.

Bright and airy. Good place to meet for a coffee and lunch. Food good and reasonable price

Staff are friendly. Free wifi. Theres options for inside and outside dining both with a great view of the botanical gardens. After you have finished walking your pooch around the nearby dog park both of you can head to the cafe terrace have a drink and relax.

Busy and expensive. Primary feature is it is the only cafe on site. My recommendation would be to have some competitors to drive improvement in service. Food itself is high quality and value for cost. However the wait time during the periods when you are likely to visit the gardens is really bad.

I got served by one Brittney. Such a machine, as if the drinks were made by a factory, perfection at its finest, what a lovely spot, a shame it closes at 2pm.

Good coffee and service. I had the Miko Burger I thought it was very expensive (most of the menu items were)for what it was. The patty was bland, all I could taste was the brioche bun. Great location though

Amazing service and coffee from the middle aged staff. The younger ones could learn from them well. And even after all the people they see in a day they still remember us and our order!

We were here 5 minutes after we were back in level 1. The staff was very happy, friendly and visibly relieved.

Cafe Miko was as usual very good. I go there every Tuesday with a walking group a d the staff are always very obliging even though we take up about 3 tables.

Impressed with the service, really good, got my order right and even put pie to share in to two different plates for convenience.

Wonderful place my grandfather broke a glass and they couldn't have been more lovely including replacing any food and drinks that got glass near. Scones yummy.
