Great atmosphere and so much seating! The food is a bit pricey but the serving sizes are huge. We got the smoked salmon eggs benedict and mushrooms on toast and both were delicious! I think it's the best mushrooms on toast I've ever had 😋

Customer service is exceptional. Came in for a coffee and I was served with a blazing fast speed before I could even find my seat. Excellent conversation with with the Barista and did I mention they serve you cappuccino in a giant bowl like the french. Magnifique. Super unique concept and decor too. I will return 👋

If you're after a good old fashioned brekkie, then you have to visit Circus Circus. In the heart of Mt Eden this gem of a place has it all. Great breakfast, good variety of other meals and an awesome display cabinet for the sweet tooth. Nice amd spacious and perfect for kids and larger groups

The staff was really friendly and was a nice atmosphere. The only reason this is not a 5-star is that there were no hotdogs available, and this was the only reason I came here. I ended up having a chicken burger instead, which was good. Slightly disappointed hotdogs were out of stock.

Greeted with a smile as soon as we entered the front door, our waitress was very attentive with a bubbly personality. Food was served quick and very tasty. We sat at the tent and it was very cosy with the outdoor heaters and blankets provided. Good to know they offer venue hire as they have a bar at the back house, upper deck area and side show with deck. Great layout and we will deff be back for the dinner menu.

We went there on a Saturday morning as I have some friends who came to visit in Auckland. It was one of the most amazing experiences I ever had in a restaurant. Hannah has been an excellent hostess, making sure we were comfortable and happy with our meals. We ordered waffles, mushrooms on toast, savory muffin, and sides like hash cakes and curly fries. Love the crème and fresh fruits that comes with the waffles, it was a big hit with the kids. Mushrooms are so creamy, and Hannah was very accommodating. Upon hearing that I don’t take cheese, she offered to take the dish back to the kitchen. We were early (went at 9am), service was quick and the vibe was very chilled and laid back. We will definitely be back!

Came here for an afternoon pick me up - the dessert is not what I remember. Sorry to say but it was a disappointing tiramisu for $13.90. Like melted weak coffee soft serve with a few lady fingers… just bought it and threw it out after two bites, should’ve bought the Oreo cheesecake instead!

Only went for dessert and coffee, but the desserts (chocolate cake and tiramisu) were both delicious and the coffee was perfect. Very friendly staff and food arrived promptly. Nicely laid out restaurant, with different levels and separate areas, which makes it feel cozy, but also spacious. Looking forward to coming back for the big breakfast!

*Updated 29/12/21: Still, an enjoyable experience. Breakfast was well priced, good portions, served quickly and tasty. Staff and atmosphere also impressive.

We used their voucher scheme. We did enjoy our meal and parking along with good service was no issue at all. Noted it was busy and I will be back again. Next time will try different pizza flavours.

This is a Mt Eden classic. I used to frequent here as a uni student having cake for lunch. Lovely staff, solid theme, good seating and parking, food quality is good.. Only reason for not having 5 stars is it hasn't really changed in the past 10 years - the quality of coffee, and range of vegetarian options is a little lower than places like Crave or Orphans. If you are over 35 you will love this place.

This is one of the coolest cafe you can find in New Zealand itself. The theme, the layout and deco says it all about Circus Circus. Great customer service are offered here and flat whites that you can never get enough! Highly recommended to all in Auckland!

Had the best muffin ever at Circus Circus it was Plum and white chocolate so good! With a very enjoyable Soy Latte thanks Circus Circus we will be back. Highly recommend.

Circus Circus is a pleasant eatery with great coffee and good seating. We bought our dog along and we're seated semi outdoor. Food was surprisingly decent portioned and the spicy chick pizza was delicious and a must! Staff were friendly and helpful, my only complaint if I were to nitpick would be that there is no on tap beer. Otherwise 8.5-9/10.

Always a go to for me. Marissa and team are always friendly and they make you feel like part of the CC community. Hash benedict is a mainstay but the other food is great as well.

Took my mum here as we've driven past this place since I was young. So glad to have visited! Staff were super friendly and very considerate of my lactose intolerance, they were able to alter a main breakfast item to suit! Great coffee, wonderful food too. Will definitely be back.

Oh Circus Circus, you came with high recommendations and fully lived up to them. The coffee frappe was DELICIOUS, the service was fast and friendly, the eggs were perfection, the venue is so neat!!!! Next time I'll be back for the sweets which looked delectable.

Circus Circus never disappoints! The food is delicious, always greeted with a smile on entering and the staff are attentive and friendly! Our server Sushant's service was just as good as it was about 2 years ago when we dined here!

Been here for countless times since I moved to NZ Just love this iconic cafe sitting around the corner of Mt Eden village You would never get bored here, the smiling faces, the warm welcoming, family hospitality atmosphere. An Auckland must visit cafe indeed

The dessert cabinet has lots of good choices and is popular with locals. There was a bit of a hold up with the ice cream sundae. Crunchy bar cheesecake is a favourite.

Iconic cafe to visit before or after going to Mt Eden. Colourful and happy circus theme decor inside and out. Tried their burgers which comes with French fries and aioli dip - burger sauce was good, chicken was tender, chips were crispy - only the bun was a bit dry. Must try the hash browns. Service was very friendly and accommodating.

A Mount Eden institution - lively and fun with yummy coffee and great spots to watch all the going-ons in the village. It would be amazing to have more vegan options but we were very pleased with our fresh smoothie and coconut latte 🥳🎪

Had 2x burgers which were alright - Chips and buns were a nicely cooked. Decent sizing that will definately fill you up. However, I'd say other things on the menu are better than their burgers :)

I visited this beautiful cafe with my best friend and it provided us a cozy atmosphere to enjoy our brunch and coffee, and of course, conversation. The any-style-egg was average with clean presentation and well-toasted breads. I added bacon to my dish and it was really good. Coffee was made great and I will definitely come back again.

Love it! Great food, good service, atmosphere is very fun with interesting decor. It gets busy so be prepared for a reasonable wait time on food (30-40 min)

Nice bangers and mash. If you're looking for a flash night out this is not it. But it does serve good solid dependable fare, and it's reasonably priced.

Had the big breakfast. Portobello mushrooms were great, but the bacon and hash browns were both tough and dry. The bread and sausages were ok, crust a bit tough but the poached eggs were very very good, bright orange so good quality.

Can't fault it...fantastic service and the food was cooked to perfection...so very yummy!! Special mention for the Southern Fried Chicken - simply delicious :-)

Welcome to the Circus ... this was how we were greeted by the most delightful staff as we scrambled in off Mount Eden Road as hungry as a pride of lions looking for a great brunch. We chose well scoring ringside bleachers inside this theme attached cafe / restaurant. Mind you, though it’s got a Big Top theme it’s not over the ToP 😀 There was 6 of us so I got to sight a few meals from the menu. I had the Circus Salad with haloumi, see below this one and a few others. Please note the ring sized coffee bowl if you need a wake up call.

Service was really good. Even though the place was busy we were always being checked on and seen to. The eggs benedict was really good. The pancakes were very pretty and the flavours were good, but unfortunately they were quite dry, crumbly, and very heavy. Overall a good place and I would return but probably wouldn't order the pancakes again.

Circus Circus in Mt Eden is my favourite dessert coffee go-to cafe because the they are usually open late most nights, staff is always fantastic to deal with, the dessert cabinet beckons a purchase every time and there’s always ample seating within the cafe with the option of blankets or tables by heaters, if required. The espresso is always amazing and I’m an avid soy latte bowl girl to accompany their gorgeous multi layered peanut butter mousse. The cakes always are stunning however it’s a real Sophie’s Choice settle on a selection so the PB Mousse is my no-brainer go-to dessert! Food and beverage delivery is always prompt so you’re never waiting long for your drink or sweet treat and it has to be reiterated that staff are so friendly and engaging even when serving your order. What’s even better is you can enjoy the wonderment of Circus Circus cakes via UberEats. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed my pumpkin and kumura frittata. But, My husband is very disappointed with the sausage roll. I still love the coffee. Great place to catch up with friends.

Circus Circus is a favorite to go to. The friendly staff & excellent food is a treat! The decor is just exactly what the name states! A truly unique themed fun place to enjoy breakfast, lunch, snacks or dinner! The desserts are the icing on the cake. Their curly fries are superb. The sheer variety of their menu is a real treat for the senses. This is one place you want to return to regularly. One gets a sense of eager anticipation as to what to have next & after that what next! A great menu at a great venue with the best themed decor! The variety of seating arrangements & different levels makes this a cozy regular haunt. Very well maintained in keeping up with the theme & so well & tastefully decorated. Has a unique charm & most of us fit in & feel very comfy & at ease immediately. One of my top favorite recommends to all.

both taste ok, portion of the fish was a bit less than I thought. steak is good. they got several good cakes in cabinet, remember to save a stomach for dessert.

I’m addicted! Is that just caffeine in the coffee? I’m sure there’s something stronger in there. And now I’m addicted damn it. I keep finding myself here and wondering how I’ve managed to justify coming miles out of my way. It’s becoming a problem. So consider yourself warned people. DO NOT DRINK THE COFFEE here unless you are prepared for the long term disruption to your daily routine.

Stopped in here for desert... Wow the crunchie bar cheese cake 🤤🤤 🎂 and then the best of the 2 was the Banoffee pie, just look at that thick layer of toffee and a nice thick base. 10 out of 10 on the desert, dangerous for the waist line 😂👍

Place has a nice atmosphere but can get crowded fast. Their desserts were good as well as their coffee. However, for a 4$ plus a cup of coffee I was expecting a bigger size and cakes were a bit pricey too. A variety of food/desserts/coffee available. Staff was accomodating.

The breakfast was great, food was high quality, staff lovely, and theme works really well. Place looks small from the front but extends far back. Losing 1 star only because the coffee was a bit ordinary, but I would come back.

The interior of the place is nice. But I've eaten better brunch in my life. It's just normal brunch food and coffee. Very crowded but they are fast to find a table for us.

Great place to stop for breakfast after an early morning walk up Mt Eden. Excellent breakfast and some of the best coffee I've had in a while. The staff were helpful and friendly. I really liked the unique decor! The eggs benedict was great but the menu had a selection of other interesting things like pancakes with candy floss.

The shops close at 11pm. It fits us so well cause we are looking for a place to have dessert after having dinner. We arrived at 9:10pm and lots of customers were already there enjoying dessert. The food is so nice and staff are friendly.

Not the cheapest, but if you ever want to feel full satisfaction from hot chocolate, go here. They will serve it to you in a bowl... The soy milk version was very nice indeed.

This is my most favourite cafe in Auckland and I visit every day. Excellent coffee made by the World Famous Mahmoun. Outstanding Front of House service by the wonderful Marissa, Harry & Pauline. The food is wonderful, especially the desserts. They're open late and are family friendly. We often stop in for a late night dessert as a treat. Breakfast options are devine and they even do pizza! Thoroughly recommend.

Top in my books. Latte Bowl and Carrot Cake yes please! A good mix of indoor outdoor spaces. Single, double and 4-6 people and even some 8 or more. Plenty of room here. The cakes and desserts are very bad for you in a good way 😋 Friendly and efficient staff. Thanks guys 😃

Fantastic food accompanied with great service. On the higher end of price for a lunch but worth it for the food and atmosphere. Friendly and fast service from the team. A little cramped/overcrowded at peak times as it's very popular and with good reason.

Great location, plenty of spaces and tables. However lack lustre service (having to ask for menus, forgetting orders) makes me reticent to go back. Good food from the kitchen though, and great for a Sunday roast. Hence just "OK" from me.

What a delightful cafe!! The food was delicious & the atmosphere friendly & jovial. The staff were very helpful especially as I had a walking stick & had trouble with the stairs but they were so kind. They even provide cosy rugs when sitting outside... what a wonderful place. Definitely going again...

As soon as you entered the restaurant you got a feeling of excitement! It didn't disappoint offering an extensive menu & the food was great with large servings & competitive prices. The place had a lovely ambience with lots of light & open to a fresh breeze blowing throughout the restaurant...great for Summer dining. Although the restaurant was full & the tables quite close together, we could easily hear each other talking which was a plus! The different levels of the restaurant also gave it a unique feel & the only down-side was that they only had one toilet! Altogether a very pleasing experience & I'd definitely recommend it!

Dined with a lovely friend , the food was off the chain🙌🏽. Andrew I think he’s the manager , he is very lovely & has great customer service. He charged my friends phone with no hesitation at all , definitely vibrant & welcoming staff. Would highly recommend to dine here, worth every dollar spent. The ambience is beyond amazing😍. A nice and cozy place to relax and unwind, with circus theme. Can be really crowded at times. The food are yummy though a bit on the slightly dearer side.

I love the food at Circus Circus - fairly decent portion & one should definitely finish the meal with one of their cakes! The staff are very friendly & efficient too, especially our server Hannah. She was very personable and was keeping on top of everything :)

Circus circus is one of the very top places in Auckland I love. It’s based more on the style of the building and theme inside with the food as well. Service can be a bit slow due to how busy this place gets. I do make it five stars because I love the food here. Everything I’ve had here to date is cooked perfectly and tastes great. I also love the decor. It’s right up my alley being circuses themed. It’s brings your inner child out here. Brings joy to me every time. So the stars are based on these. The service is great, they are always nice and love to serve you. But as I said before it can be slow on a busy day so don’t expect to have on ball service every time. Worth a visit and get your view on the place. It is definitely worth a visit in my eyes. I take everyone here when they come visit auckland.

We had our office Christmas party here. It was in a great location in Mt Eden. The food was really good and the service was excellent. The cafe itself has some parking behind the building.

Great food with a quirky decor. Came hear with my wife and 3 year old, they had colouring books and pens for the kids and a basket full of toys in the upstairs room so my wife and I could enjoy our food while keeping an eye on the playing child. Good food in a relaxed atmosphere - I'll definitely pop in again at some stage!

Great food. Ordered the lamb roast served with mustard sauce wow was so nice. Never thought mustard combination with lamb would work. I'm going to do that next time I cook lamb.

Can’t really fault circus - have been for both dinner and brunch and had excellent food and service every time. In particular, really loved the steak sandwich - in fact it was the only meal I actually finished whilst I was pregnant (the highest compliment!). Iced americanos were excellent too. My only critique - I went dining with my partner and it was only him that was ever addressed by the server. Not sure if this is an individual thing or company policy but definitely isn’t something that I’m used to.

Always the first place to come on my mind when someone asks me whether I know any nice cafes nearby. Nice ambience, good theme, awesome customer service, and good beverages and food. Never disappointed.

This is our 'local' as we live very close by in Mt Eden. I've no idea how many times we've visited this cafe over the past 14 years, but it is definitely our favourite place for coffee and food. The service is always wonderful and the staff are so helpful and pleasant. If you haven't yet visited this iconic cafe/restaurant in Mount Eden, you really must.

Fast and speedy service. Lively and fun environment for families. An icon in the Mt Eden suburb. We ordered the New York hot dog and the Big Breakfast. The hot dog sausage was a bit too chewy in that my teeth couldn't bite through the skin which made it quite difficult to consume given the amount of toppings and sauce layered on top. The Big Breakfast was quite good, the scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection and the portions were generous. Homemade hash brown stood out in terms on uniqueness but was dry and not crispy enough. Overall a very fun cafe.

Righto, we have been regulars for years. The food and the dining experience are great. The site manager Tony is always welcoming, a great sense of humour and maintains a high standard. Staff look like they want to be there. Kick back and enjoy the atmosphere. It can be busy but this place isn't a secret.

Nice environment, friendly service and cool toilets. However there isn't alot of variety in the menu, not many lighter or vegetarian options. The prices are also quite high, hard to find anything under $20.

Guys, I love the food here , especially the hot dogs! I've tried all 3 styles now, each is unique and flavorsome, but must say Sloppy Joe is my favorite! Coming back for more! Side of charred broccoli with the almond slivers too!

Always impeccable service especially when the cool chatty Malaysian woman and head Barister are in charge. My 'usual' is normally waiting for me ready to go by the time I reach the bar. I need that!... and it's always the best coffee in the village. Case deli food always looks beautiful. Lovely creative salads.

Very unique in deco & meal presentation

Came in on a Saturday (super busy). One of the owners was smiley, happy and eager to find us an appropriate seat (as we had a dog with us, and were about to leave because all the outdoor seats were taken). She took us around the back to an extra seating area, and we enjoyed a very nice coffee and some scones. Prices were really good for the area, will definitely be back!

Interesting venue, with room for 50-60 or so. Seating on three levels (stairs). We were a party of thirteen who had lunch (varied menu) plus two bottles of Chardonnay and two glasses of red wine. (Average: $37 per head including GST) Happy, friendly and very busy staff. And, their manager was working alongside them when busy.✅ Gluten free and vegetarian options too.

I keep coming back to Circus Circus. Their staff are so friendly and professional. Their food is great and they are child/kid/large family friendly! Probably one thing to note is that some of the clowns can freak young children out BUT overall, I will definitely be coming back!

Extremely friendly and welcoming from the moment you arrive. Delicious coffee and fresh fruit smoothies. Food was excellent with a good range of lunch and brunch items. Only waited about 5 minutes for food to arrive! Def recommend

Nice place - food good - but menu not enough on offer..our waiter got an order totally wrong..we were left for ages before waiter came back to ask us if we wanted anything...one outside heater didn't work so we were abit cold

Have been here for breakfast and coffee on the run great service and delicious food, for god sake people if there was an emergency, do you want the head chef to alert everyone in 10 different languages? OF COURSE NOT. Your staff must be on the same page and they must be able to universally converse with each other, lets not forget these guys have been kept on through this hideous covid 19 shutdown, only to cop abuse from y'all. They are still the same people from 2 months ago, the ones who welcome you through the door day in day out

The food was GREAT! I had the lamb roast and it was veeeery yummy and good portion! The staff was friendly and welcoming, specially Hannah who was looking after our table!

Every time we come here it's a great experience. Food is always delicious. However I have ordered dessert here a few times and have always been a little disappointed. The bannoffee pie I ordered had an extremely hard crust that it was difficult to bite into. Most recently I ordered the molten lava cake and it was nice but just too much cocoa. So i prob will stay away from desserts but the food is ace.

Exquisite service! I've been here quite a few times and the staff are fantastic. Once I had a salad that I didn't really like and the waitress got me another meal on the house. Tonight the kitchen was really busy so our fondue took a while to arrive. Without our prompting the manager gave it to us on the house. Top notch

They are so nice! I loved the customer service, the people on the phone will tell you jokes and the checkout lady complimented me. The food was amazing and so was the atmosphere. It can be crowded based on when you go but that's to be expected.

We always enjoy our visit to this place. Everything there is perfect!!! We generally been there for our dinners and evening drinks. Always a memorable time and delicious food with their incredible desserts varieties!

The eggs on toast for 12$ were well priced for scrambled eggs. It is hard to describe just how bad the coffee was though. Mine was like burned tar. I am particular about coffee, but I think I am being objective here.

Went here Saturday March 10 and ordered the steak sandwich and a coke (mostly since I found out they unfortunately and strangely don't offer the lunch menu on weekends). Service almost non existent, food took about 40 minutes to be ready. Chips were cold, bread was toasted so hard I couldn't eat and cut it, steak was tiny and chewy and had little flavor. My drink was never brought to the table. Very poor and small meal considering the approx $22 price. Would not recommend this meal or cafe.

Excellent food, great customer service and ambiance

First the positives. Excellent and attentive service. The cafe is clean and layout is nice with lots of different areas to sit. Sadly the food wasn't great. I had the eggs benedict with pulled pork, the eggs were cold and overcooked and the pork was dry and tasteless. The coffee was pretty good.

Excellent foods, staffs and services. I went today to that place with friends, we had a pleasure to meet an Italian (manager / owner) who gave all the attention and kindness. Also, a Brazilian staff who was very kind with everyone. We will come back for sure ;)

We rocked up for lunch, I was quite surprised how busy it was considering it was a weekday. Had to wander around to find a table, loved looking at the clown theme everywhere in all the little dining alcoves. Was promptly served by patient staff, while I whittled my choice down. We all enjoyed our respective meals, and drinks. Would like to experience a evening meal next time !

Good food but seating can be tight. Don't sit at front as every 5 minutes the blender goes off and can't even talk to person next to you. Service can sometimes be leaving just because it's so busy.

Very good brekky.

The staff are friendly and accommodating. The coffee and food is consistent and good. We visit regularly and haven't had any bad experiences yet. The decor is a little eccentric but in theme with the name. Overall a very pleasant place to spend time with friends and family. There is a park just behind the premise, so it can be kid friendly (if you want to tire them out before or work off some of the energy from a hot chocolate after).

One of my favourite places in Mount Eden village - friendly staff and great decor/ambiance, with many seating options. Unfortunately, there are few vegan options and often no vegan food available from the cabinet, so more ethical options would be great!

Delicious food. Had a too tight table to start but moved quickly when we protested. Carrot cake to die for.... Lovely tasty salads full of pomegranate. Good steak sandwich though not the biggest

Circus Circus is an awesome spot for food. A big group of us headed here at short notice and were accommodated so well by the friendly staff. The food options for lunch are superb with choices for all ages and tastes. The ambiance is fun with its circus theme style and speed of food delivery good. Very highly recommended to all!

I regularly go once a week for lunch. The food is simple but good and there is extensive cabinet food. Meals come promptly. As the name implies, the interior is set up with old circus posters and there are clown statues and a lion statue. The place certainly had atmosphere.

The service was awesome, helpful staff and good coffee. I had the NY style hotdog and loved it! Best one I've had in NZ yet, a bit spicy, really recommend it!!!

Vibrant place with best staff who treat people right. You could never be disappointed in their coffee but you would want to try their saucy chicken livers for brunch and their pork ribs for dinner. Very tasteful and delicious.. Most of their other stuff can be got elsewhere.

Outstanding place if you haven't been it's well worth the experience. As you can tell by the name Circus Circus before you go inside there is clown and lion statuettes. The building is red..as I walked in you can sit down anywhere and seating out doors. I ordered the big breakfast top.. hot chocolate and frappe. Delicious and tasty..the prices were a bit more than I would of expected if I was to compare them to the other cafes. High chair seating for your little ones. Toilets available

First time there. Went on a Sunday but had our food out quick. Staff were friendly. I had the homemade hash browns with salmon. Tasted great, but a little salty. Quite an interesting theme. Overall, had a good experience.

My girlfriend took me here for a birthday breakfast. It was very busy but the food was still great! Sadly I have to wait 25 minutes for my English Breakfast Tea to show up, when it did arrive it was just boiled water, the tea bag was separate! Still would recommend this place for breakfast.. maybe order a more complex drink though, they come out sooner!

Was busy when we arrived but we're seated quickly, service from the start was excellent and continued until we left. Did was great, with a slightly different brunch menu, but it was certainly ruining with the theme of the place. Would go back next time I visit Auckland 10/10

Great atmosphere. Best dessert cabinet ever. Competent, sensitive and efficient staff. They make the largest hot coffees and mochas. Great place for alone time or to share with friends.

It can get a bit crowded at times, even with a booking. Especially at brunch time. Even with the crowdedness of it all, the food is.still very good, and service is always on point with how friendly they are. The coffee is also pretty decent, and prices are actually quite reasonable. Not had a negative experience here ever. It really is just the space at times.

I came to Circus Circus with a friend as a first timer. We both ordered the ricotta pancakes. They were very dry and inedible. However I was impressed with the service of the wait staff who took our concerns seriously and went to the kitchen to try them. Returning to say yes they agreed and a new batch was being made. They also stated our breakfast would be no charge. Whilst anyone can make a mistake I was impressed with how it wS handled. The coffee was excellent. I’d definitely return

We had to try this cafe because the building is so colourful and looks like a circus. With red blankets on the seats outside we chose circus circus as had the dog with us. Good, prompt, friendly service. Water for the dog and lots of attention given to the dog from staff. Brother ordered big circus breakfast with homemade potatoes cakes/hash browns, sausages, bacon, egg, baked beans in a minature pot, ciabbiata. Long black and cappuccino. Very nice brunch

Great place for a dinner or just a coffee, they serve the large one in a bowl and is really cheap. Great price for hot dogs and everything in general, the Italian guy is really friendly and care about the customers, really a place you must go.

Friendly service, good place for drinks and dessert. This is a very nice place to sit and chat. Full dinner meals are available, as well as just coffee/tea and dessert. The banoffee pie is excellent, and I like the chocolate mousse too. The service is personal, friendly and polite. Not intrusive, but there when you need them. Lovely place!

This place always looks busy, which is probably testament to it's quality. You can choose between delicious cooked breakfasts, or even a simple vegetable and cheese scone from the cabinet. Great for smaller and bigger budgets. Loved my scone!

Booked out a room for work meet up. Service was amazing from Sushant, very friendly and accommodating, with quick service with a smile. Food and beverages both delicious. I reccomend this place highly and had a lovely time *if you get wifi for guests I would give this place 11/10

Decent coffee and a good place for a meeting with private rooms available for when you have crowd with you. Didn't try the food so cannot comment on that but it looked good from what I saw of other people eating. The only drawback is parking which is a real problem as all spots including the local car park where full of cars so a bit of a walk to the place

My parents worked here over 20 years ago & I had finally stepped back in 2weeks ago after soooo long. I couldn't believe how beautiful it still is & so much upgrade over the years ! So warm & cosy, The food was fricking delicious. I was greeted as soon as I stepped in, the staff were so kind & welcoming. I met Sashant as I was seated, such a wonderful bubbly guy! Serving our water, food & always popped in making sure we were comfortable & enjoying our time, thankyou Sashant for making our night extra special. I will definitely be back for more. ❤ I love you CircusCircus, since waaay back! 💯👌 Keep up the Good service.

I Go once per month for carrot cake and earl grey tea. Best carrot cake if you love cream cheese icing. Layered on thick. Cake lovely and moist. Very generous slice. Consistently the same month after month. Actually a few years under the belt.

Food was nice but not amazing. Pricing is expensive for what it's worth however we got 1/2 price because of a deal. Without this deal I would of not been happy. Tables too small and a little chlostrophobic inside. Not sure I'd return.

Great coffee and some totally lovely genuine staff. This was the first time I've had a meal here (big breakfast or something similarly named), it was average. I'll deffo add another star if my next breakfast is awesome :)

Very friendly staff. I remember we came pretty much close to kitchen closing time and they understood our condition( we had landed some time back ) and opened their hearts and kitchen for us! Food is tasty, coffee is good, curry could be a bit better and spicier ;)

Pleasant enough, but paid $5.30 for a regular flat white. Not sure this place is worth the most expensive flat white I’ve ever had.

Circus Circus is a lovely place. Food is great and staff are genuinely friendly and most pleasant. This place is my first stop for breakfast every time I fly in from NY (not as infrequent as you might imagine). Go there at any time, it is a gem!

This is a nice cafe with a very good theme. And I would recommend to visit they had a good hot chocolates.

Terrible hot dog experience: for a $14 hot dog which comes with no sides, the expectation is of a quality bun. The bun that came with the hotdog was extremely average as though it came from a supermarket. Great mushroom on toast : the saving dish was the mushrooms stroganoff on toast - beautiful dreamy creamy mushrooms -highly recommend!! I’d give it 1 star for the hot dog and 5 for the mushroom toast and the wonderful friendly service and cool quirky interiors. Hope you please look into the hot dogs considering there are three on the menu.

went here for dinner. the macaroni cheese is exceptional. the ribs were however a bit dry, definitely no falling off the bone meat. My mother in law really enjoyed the pasta of the day. great place to go if you've got people who you don't know what to feed as there is so much to choose from. Oh and the chocolate crunchie cheesecake was AMAZING. definitely something you want to share though. I ate 2/3, i regret it lol.

My wife and I absolutely love coming to Circus Circus for breakfast. They have in my mind a unique seating area which is nothing bad. Their service is also excellent. Breakfast menu is a bit pricey, but when the quality is that good it's well worth the money.

this place had been talked up to me for a while. 1st experience was a takeaway coffee, it was fine. Went for lunch, coffee was less than good, the vege burger was extremely disappointing, very bland, chips that came with it were acceptable. Have been back a couple of times since because of convenience, & have had a couple for coffee since, it seems to be a hit or miss if it's good or not. ok pricing. overall just avarage. staff are friendly

Favorite cafe in town, ambience is just really nice and food and desserts are just so good and rich for its price point. Their opening hours work really well. If I dared to deduct some points from this place though it would be in regards to parking as it is usually an issue trying to find a spot on the street.

Not very wheelchair and pram friendly. So many stairs and very squashed. Too many tables and chairs and no space to walk. Food was nice and service was excellent. Dessert was overpriced and hardly anything. Price should match the size of dessert.

Great place, themed to match their name. Good coffee and food, service is quick and efficient. We went on a wet day however, some tables were unusable due to the weather getting into some areas, I think they could eliminate this with a bit more investment into the building.

Great brunch spot at the south end of tiny-but-vibrant Mt Eden village. Consistently open and consistently good, with fast, good service. The street-front seating is limited but the most pleasant in Mt Eden (and there's a water bowl for the well behaved best friend). A reliable menu; perhaps light-ish on vegetarian options. Excellent cheaper options on the sandwich/ cake cabinet.

My partner and I stumbled upon Circus Circus tonight when looking for a place for dinner. We had a look at the menu and thought the food sounded great and the prices very reasonable. We took a seat in an intimate room and were greeted genuinely by every staff member we encountered. The water came out and after 10 minutes of deliberation (because every item on the menu sounded delicious) we ordered. Our pork and chicken dishes were served steaming within 10 minutes, so impressed! Both dishes were absolutely amazing and looking at the dishes being delivered to the other tables we immediately decided we would come back and try each of the others. The wait staff continued to impress us for the rest of the night, I would highly recommend this place, we will definitely be returning soon!

Really 4.5 stars but you can only do whole stars here. Consistently good coffee. A good range of places to sit. Staff consistently humble and not too in your face :) which I find a good combo. The queuing to order at the counter is a bit of a bottleneck at times but bearable considering the whole picture. Open good long hours. Probably not for people wanting white table cloth fine dining. This is more a relaxed coffee and food cafe.

I love the atmosphere here. Unfortunately the chef is difficult and hates any sort of feedback. I can't eat red onion, asked for a dish without and he told the wait staff he couldn't remove it. So I had something else. However my husband had ordered the dish had originally ordered and it had NO red onion in it. Typical of this chef

Banoffee pie to die for. Other food pretty brilliant as well. A funny venue in that the building snakes on across a weird collection of levels, but it's cozy and characterful, and most importantly the food really is good. Especially the desserts... Staff always go the extra mile to make it a special dining experience. Can be a bit cold inside in winter, but lovely nonetheless. Often quite crowded - as it should be.

Hospitality from staff was awesome, always checking up on us to see if we needed anything. Meals were OK but the desserts were divine, tiramisu and salted caramel creme bruleè were the highlights of the evening. Definitely worth a try.

Service is good. Place is clean and not uncomfortable. I had the Benedict with pulled pork and a hash brown. It was fine, not bad, not great, just fine. I’m not a local though, so my taste may be a little different.

Circus circus arguably has the best coffee in Auckland. One barista stands out as an expert. Bit of a wait due to popularity. Loyal customers ensure always packed out. Bacon and eggs on toast- great portion tasty ingredients and great execution. Compliments to chef and same. Highly recommend

Great atmosphere..I had the corn fritters... More like baking powder flavored American pancakes (suggest putting half half cream corn with corn kernels) but the topping was great.. Smashed avo halumi and poached egg.

Food was good but waited a long time for it to come out, the guy that serviced us was really friendly but never asked us for our second round of drinks and didn't come back to check on table enough, plastic seats are extremely uncomfortable. I probably wouldn't come back maybe for some dessert to go.

Went in for dinner, it was very busy but somehow we managed to score a table. Customer service was top notch, food was a bit let down. Lamb shank tasted bland as compared to the other chicken dish we ordered, will visit again to try other dishes from the menu.

Lovely place and has something new to offer every time you go there. Its different dining areas, outside and indoor, gives you plenty of options to choose from. Awesome staff and of course great coffee.

A popular and busy cafe with an eclectic menu. The staff are really nice and service is quick. The sloppy Joe hotdog I ordered was delicious.

Interesting theme on what would otherwise just an expensive cafe restaurant. Coffee was nice, the broccoli and blue cheese risotto pastry had hardly any broccoli or blue cheese (but lots or rice) leaving it pretty meh, and the tea was really strongly fragmented. We had a great seat outside. Sadly, on the day we were there, the traffic was busy, so it was quite noisy. I'd recommend grabbing a seat inside.

Coffee was phenomenal, quick service, great food. Parking is a hassle in this area, so carpool. A little pricey, but overall worth it.

We regularly call in for coffee and cake. First time for an evening meal. High culinary standard and presentation. Superb meal.

Iconic spot in Mt Eden. Coffee was nice but savoury muffin was overly microwaved to heat it and wasn't great. Staff were very efficient taking plates and cups away but it did make us feel like we were being rushed.

Had a very nice lunch with my kids. The staff were very nice and pleasant. The food didn't take long to come out and it was delicious. We will be returning again.

Always love visiting Circus Circus. Our meals were delicious and given we shared three dishes between us, it was just enough for a light meal. The only downside is the table size but other than that the staff are extremely accommodating and quick to remove items when necessary. Desserts are just to die for and would highly recommend.

I travel all over Auckland and this place has the best coffee, FACT. Dine in only though, take-aways never quite cut it. Great blend, the right temperature, tasty, fabulous milk texture and CONSISTENT. Great Barista's, great service.

Very quirky place with lots of character and circus props. Yummy cakes and desserts along with a wide ranging menu. Open early for breakfast and right through the day and into the night. One if the few places you can get a coffee and a cake at 10pm. Historic building that used to be a Dairy/convenience store decades ago. Parking can be hit and miss but you can usually find one close by

Always a busy place. They have lovely food and drinks. The only downside is that the toilet always stinks of urine. **Update** I'm guessing someone at Circus Circus has read my review as the toilet situation has improved. No more stink! It's nice and clean now.

WOW!!! Circus Circus sells a good cup of coffee. Like the coffee is so good I made a point of complimenting the barrista on his expert skill. The day was cold and wet and the cafe was warm and friendly. So I will be back when I want the perfect cup of coffee in a relaxed warm atmosphere.

Circus circus is one of my favourite place to have breakfast or brunch, their waffle/pancakes with bacon and banana are great and their cakes are pretty good too. This time I went there for dinner, their food is equally good at night. The eye filet was cooked to perfection and meat on the lamb shank is so tender it just fall off the bone.

I just love Circus Circus. Friendly staff and the food is fresh and tasty. It's also open late so a nice cafe to go to in the evening to catch up with friends.

Last time I visited the place, business was doing well. The restaurant tends to get very busy, but the selection of food on the menu, service and atmosphere is very welcoming. Food tastes satisfactory and pretty worth it for the price.

What I may call very average mains, pepperoni pizza was served well but the salt and pepper squid was under seasoned and not crispy. However very lovely and fun desserts would recommend and would return for just a dessert date. The dessert cabinet is full of lovely treats. Banoffee was a crowd winner, with its sturdy delicious crust - the panna cotta had mixed opinions but still we favored.

Enjoyed our meal of eye fillet steak & lamb shank. Both were delicious. Highly recommended.

Love the pizza's, the toys to play with for the kids, the super friendly waiters and the ambiance. A must go!

I had the Circus salad with quinoa, roasted kumara and halloumi. It was amazing, I ordered skinny fries to go with it but didn't really need them, although they were delicious, the salad filled me right up. Will definitely be back.

This place pumps. Despite the how busy it is it still manages to sustain the quality and deliver each time. I use this as a regular meeting spot with good reason, always consistent.

Good food, crispy chicken is recommended! Quick service and good portions. The atmosphere was fun and different, really feels like you're in a circus tent.

Came here after they changed the menu, had the spicy chicken pizza and southern fried chicken. Both meals were delicious, especially the fried chicken! Highly recommended!

To be honest I was only working outside to help install gas, but I have to mention the owner who was so kind enough to offer me a coffee whilst I was waiting for the crew to turn up. Definitely the place to go for service & to be taken care of.

This cafe is very popular and unlike many in Auckland, they are open in the evening. Its an interesting place, the staff are great with children, the food is good and prices reasonable

My all time go-to place for banoffee and curly fries. Friendly staff as well with a cozy ambience. Highly recommended.

This is a constantly great steak. Always superb service. I have been here a few times. Always great. And my wife loves the dessert menu.

The circus themed restaurant provides consistent quality food and services for at least a decade. Plenty of tables including outdoor, semi outdoor and indoor seatings. Comfortable and cosy atmosphere, open 7 days a week from breakfast service until 11pm.

Not a bad venue, above average wait staff but massaman curry was in fact a green curry and the gluten free eggs on toast was very underwhelmingly presented. Coffee was fantastic though.

Have not been here for over 4 years, not sure if same owner, but lovely food and good service from friendly staff.

Looking for coffee after the views of Mt Eden? Clowns and pierrots welcome your visit. Located a 3 minute drive away from the summit, it's a welcoming place with friendly service and a spectacular interior. The clown sculptures are really remakable, and the interior keeps the feel of the circuses in the past. Tad pricey drinks and foods, but the visit is what pays itself off. Would recommend.

Travel all over Auckland with work and the Regular Guy at Circus Circus makes the best coffee hands down over anyone else in Auckland, don’t know what his secret is but his technique is so consistent and coffee tastes great every time. 5 Star Coffee.

Lots of seating. Can take a while to order. But nice and chilled vibe. An Auckland institution for decades. Coffee was smooth and nice. Recommended for groups.

Always a very busy place, great selection of food and deserts and friendly staff. Coffee I had was a little over extracted and bitter however still a top notch place.

Wow! Exceptional service, a culinary delight for a coffee shop, try the pie... Not the ordinary vomit in a pastry coffin... These guys pies can't be rated by ordinary kiwi standards. Yum!

I would have given 5 if there r more are more vegan and glutenfree options..not just the raw desserts but somethng baked and different ..but coffee is delicious!🤗

This is a fun cafe to visit just because of the decor. It has been a landmark in Mount Eden for a long as I can remember and the large Circus Statues and bight red paintwork really makes a statement. The food and coffee aare so good so its a fun place to eat

Circus Circus is one of Mt Eden's High Class Cafe. You ought to be loaded to get inside. I have my Flat White on a regular basis with friends. I would recommend to anyone who wants to try something new.

Visited Auckland after 18 years living overseas, and this place was the only one I still recognized in the village. It still had the same charm as ever. The formula must be just right.

Love the fact that they are open late. So, 3pm when other cafes are closing Circus Circus is the perfect stop. Great outdoor playground out the back for kids as well.

We came here for a breakfast. Great food and exceptional customer service by Himanshu. Circus circus is our favorite cafe in Mt Eden. Look forward to come back soon.

The evening at The Circus was the best l have had in a long time. Amazing food, lovely atmosphere and wonderful staff. I highly recommend spending an evening at The Circus.

Food was decent, service good. Cakes are weirdly expensive though, $13 for a single piece of cheesecake?

Lovely quirky cafe with multiple levels and little nooks and corners. Gets busy so you might need to book otherwise just rock up and take your chances.

This place was packed on a Friday night. It took us a while to get our food but when it came it was delicious. Service was wonderful.

We had breakfast at this place. Lots of food and very quick service. Good coffee as well.

It's decent but crowded and a little unorganized with the line. Cakes are tasty for sure. Serve a couple beers if you don't like coffee.

Delicious hashbrowns, with Portobello mushrooms, and perfectly poached eggs. My fellow diner had the Circus Salad with Halloumi, delicious flavours, unfortunately the Halloumi not cooked well, a bad habit of theirs. Halloumi in a salad is fantastic if the chef would only take the time to practice the art on their own time

Some frends and i attend this place every friday i love the servise the front of house women giv us and tony is always going out of his way to fit us is when its really busy the wakanui steak meal is my fav but also the pasta of the day is devine i love this place soo much thank you very much for having us love your work guys keep it up big thanks to the cicus circus team keep it up From jim :)
