This is a true hidden gem in Auckland. Located in a secluded area in Mt Albert, you don't think of much when you look at it from the outside but it adds to the charm of the place. Once you order and the food arrives, you'll already be impressed with the way it's presented. And when you take a bite, that's when you're completely blown away. You have to taste it to know what I'm talking about. I always go to eat a sando, end up adding one more. 110% recommended.

Sexy Sandos, 10/10 coffee, top of range staff. Definitely recommend you take your mates, a hungry tummy and enjoy the Young George vibe.

Always a pleasure to grab a morning coffee at Young George. Good coffee, lovely people and a small but excellent menu. My daughter loves their iced tea. They’ve had a tough time there with constant roadworks compounding the misery of COVID lockdowns so give them some support if you are in the area. You won’t regret it!

Firstly, staff here are so friendly and attentive. Really makes the whole experience better then just food. Next, the food! This place doesn’t just have the best Sando (Japanese sandwiches) in Auckland it has the best sandwiches in Auckland full stop. The Sando bread is beautifully soft with a nice crust. The katsu and smash patties is so tender and juicy (not oily at all). The flavouring profile is so spot on you can really taste every detail they have put in the Sando. One more thing. Their latté art is WOW. Really shows you how much pride they take to make sure every little detail counts. They can get quite busy at times so can be a little bit of wait. But trust me. It is soooooo worth it. Can’t wait to visit again!

This is a place is an absolute gem. Total chance discovery for me and I will most definitely be going back. I had the beef sandwich that was like a high class Big Mac toastie - incredible. Also, the chicken katsu and eggplant sandwich were great. Well worth checking this out. Recommended

Every now and then, you have a particularly memorable cup of coffee. My most recent memorable cup was had here two weeks ago- excellent work from the lovely barista. Sandwhich and chats also fabulous. Well worth seeking out this little suburban treasure.

Lovely food in this place! You need to try it for sure. Generous size and a for sure a unique flavour. Never had something like this. Worth a shot or two or three ;)

Little gem tucked off the main drag. Don’t be put off by all the building work - you will be rewarded with excellent coffee and food. Outside seating, child and dog friendly. Well worth a visit

I was visiting Auckland and was stoked to see a cafe was nearby! It did not disappoint. I went here three mornings in a row and all the food was outstanding. I especially enjoyed the pork sando - premo! Great service and vibe ;)

Nice place for a casual brunch. Food is excellent and priced very fairly. Bit of a wait when busy but to be expected as it's a small kitchen.

Lovely. Limited, in terms of seating & menu options. But friendly prompt service, delicious food beautifully presented, good coffee. Outdoor seating & toys for little ones on the grass.

Hands down the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Try the chicken one.

Well worth the detour despite the roadworks. We got in just before the rush for breakfast on a Saturday morning at 9am. Can recommend the Pork Grilled Sandwich and the Katsu eggplant. Coffee is surprisingly decent too. Will return for burger nights on a Friday.

Great casual cafe with excellent coffee and lovely food - their Japanese Sando's are really tasty! A group of young but experienced people running it with a lovely vibe. We really enjoy a bike ride there using the Oakley Creek Cycleway

Been meaning to come and check out Young George, after reading reviews. Did not disappoint. I ordered the Mozzarella and my partner the Chicken. We shared and thoroughly enjoyed both. Would recommend.

What a discovery! Tried their Pork Sando (best seller) and it’s one of the best sandwich type meals we’ve tried in Auckland. Their coffee and side of chips with aioli were great too. Must, must try!

I am happy to say that this place was well worth my families impromptu trip. The service was immaculate and the man at the front was very accommodating for my elderly grandfathers needs. The food was incredible and was well presented. However, the best part was the barista. He was friendly, chatty and gave high quality service. His coffee skills were amazing. From the taste of the coffee to the latte art on top, I am happy to say that he is the best barista I have come across. The only downside of this experience is that no other coffee will be able to top his and from now I will live the rest of my days in a continuous disappointment. Support local!

I was too fast to eat so no picture ! Was really delicious I had the mozzarella and I tried my friends beef and also the chicken. All ingredients are fresh and cooked perfectly. My flat white was also perfect !!! I ll be back

Professional barista placing love into coffee and all the sandwiches they make, what more can I say! This place is a hidden gem and perfect for a coffee after or during a bike ride or gym session! I look forward to the buildings on the road to be completed and an improved atmosphere but can’t rate this place anything less than a 5! Good luck with your business!

Everything you are looking for. From those welcoming owner/operator hospitality feels to excellent food that makes you want to order another one- even before you have finished your second bite. Not just a local but your weekend drive to. Unbelievable can't wait to come back , I'll take 10 x pork Sandos please chef.

Delicious! And I love the random suburban location, definitely makes you feel like you've discovered a hidden gem. We both had vego sammies (Mozzarella & katsu Eggplant) and you would never know they were meat-free. Coffee also great.

Probably the most moreish sandwich I've ever had in my life. I had the chicken katsu one and it was SOOOOO delicious. Chicken nice and juicy and really light (didn't feel heavy for breaded chicken). It hung over past the bread, so you get a couple mouthfuls of pure chicken to enjoy. The slaw was delicious and creamy and I never thought I'd froth over toasted bread, but that bread was perfect. It was served with yummy (also moreish) crisps and naturally had to get the fries. Oh man. They were so great. For the basic crinkle cut, these were perfection. Really light and crisp on the outside and they literally would melt in your mouth. I'm going to dream about this meal every day till I go back. Definitely well worth the trip for a Shore girl.

Before started working, my friend and I visited there for late breakfast and we tried Chicken Katsu & Mozzarella Sandos :) omg they are really delicious and coffee was really beautiful too :)staffs are really friendly and helpful!! I def go back there for breakfast or lunch again!! Thank you guys!! Highly Recommended!!

Awesome spot to chill with a coffee, or enjoy some seriously good food. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and the staff were excellent. I went in with my wife and our 9 month-old, and we really enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend Young George if you're looking for great coffee, food, and atmosphere.

Absolutely loved the beef sando 🥪, I must say the sauce in the sandwich was very good and the aioli that came with the chips was amazing! ☕ Coffee was delicious, best cappuccino I've had in a long time! Great location and the sjroutdoors on the grass was brilliant! The service was amazing, a really friendly bunch! 👍 Love what you all are doing, keep it up! 👌 Thank you, I can't wait to come back.

BEST SANDWICHES I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!! We had the chicken katsu, pork and beef and honestly I don’t know which one was better. The bread itself was crispy and the fillings complemented each other so well. Definitely coming back again and again and again.

Delicious!!! Such a niche little place, doesnt look much from the outside and the menu is small but mighty. We had the chicken katsu and pork and they where both unreal. Plan to head back very soon to try the fish and beef. Really nice guys, great service!

You won't beat this place when it comes to coffee and sandwiches (it's not your usually sandwich... cross between a burger and sandwich). So delicious, I'd eat there everyday I'd I could. Don't be put off by the building it's in, the magic happens inside.

A true backstreet gem. The coffee is excellent and the sandos are superb (the chicken katsu is my fav) but best of all is the friendly welcome and community vibe. Worth braving the roadworks for.

Chichen sándwich really nice flavour, crispy and really good portion! Beef sandwich nice, but less cheese and less sauce will be better, so you can actually taste beef flavour. Very ni e Mocca & really good customer service!

Great little café literally a minute or two off the Waterview bike path. Quiet and unassuming there are tables inside and out, pastries and lovely coffee with dairy-free options. Hopefully this tiny hub of shops will grow over time for this community. We will be back!

Best sandos (vegan eggplant is SO CRISPY!!), delicious coffee, excellent banter! Comfy chill lil neighbourhood place offering delicious kai in a laid-back atmosphere (sometimes there's giant bubbles for your kids as well, always a winner!). 10/10 will go back every Sunday xxx

Fantastic setting the chairs outside are lovely in the sun, the food was very good and well crafted, but most of all the staff were fantastic I only saw two guys when we went but food was fresh and prompt and service excellent, they were very nice and I would definitely recommend.

Nice place but food is average needs a boost

I just got a chicken sandwich for me and my brother and everything about it was to die for😍 the bread was as soft as a cloud, the chicken was still juicy and the sauce was just perfect. Thank yous for the beautiful food and the beautiful service
