M.The service at this cafe was very warm and friendly. It felt as if I was at my favorite aunt’s house ready to sit down and enjoy a meal. The food is just as great. I’m definitely returning!

L.Excellent food, especially the eggs on toast and rustic potatoes. They do a savory muffin that everyone says is the best they've ever had. Warm and cosy place with lots of inside and outside seating, very popular but can always get a table.
J.lovely cafe in the heart of Takapuna. The food is so yum and great coffee which is a plus. The pulled pork Taco is delish. Great service as well.
J.I had the creamy mushroom brekkie which was Great and came in a bowl of pastry which was light. It was quite a lot of pastry which I didn't finish. Service was good and did not have to wait long for our order. Setting is nice too.

H.We were a bit let down with our visit to Zomer after reading about how great it is.
- The queue at the counter to order was very slow.
- Our coffee order took longer than people who arrived after us. And when it did come, one coffee was made with the wrong milk so had to wait even longer for it to be remade.
- Our two meals came out about 5 minutes apart.
Overall, the coffee and food tasted good hence the 3 stars.
K.Coffee is still good. Food was a bit of a let down. Gnocchi was dry and uncooked. Mince pastry was also dry and tasteless. Vibe was no more. Should have picked up the sign that the place was empty and huge contrast from my last visit

D.The coffee and food are both good here and the setting is really nice, even on a hot day. I ordered the marinated halloumi which was nice although they were a bit skimpy with the halloumi.
W.This place was EXCELLENT! It was just a run of the mill looking place on the outside but the food and service was TOP NOTCH! If there were 6 stars, I'd give them 6.
The food is all made on site and was really good! Can't rate it highly enough!

L.We went there for Sunday brunch on mother's day, and that might have spoiled our experience as the place was understandably busy and the staff seemed a little bit overwhelmed by the situation. The queue to order food at the counter took ages, but food arrived reasonably quick. Portion were very big, but the quality wasn't there... I suspect a lot washed prepped in advance in prevision of the mother's day rush, and we could tell. For example, the toaster ciabatta was dried, as if toasted long ago and kept under a heat lamp for too long. Maybe I should try on an other day, but I feel there aren't soo many other breaky and brunch places in Auckland to try I don't think I'll even bother...
H.The creamy mushrooms was great. However, the mocca was disappointing. I found it too sweet for my taste.
S.Really nice coffee. Even on a variable autumn day sitting outside under the sun cover was very sheltered & pleasant.
Would definitely come back next time I'm in Takapuna.
M.The quality of the service and food has gone down since we last visited Zomer. Perhaps the staff had a busy day and were overwhelmed but maybe the system needs a revamp if getting busy tends to compromise the overall experience.
Just some feedback:
- number the tables so that orders don’t get mixed up (one of our orders went to another table after we had waited 30 mins for our food to arrive)
- have waitstaff take orders at the table, or at least inform customers that they need to order at the counter (we were waiting 15 mins before we realised that it said “order at the counter” at the bottom of the menu)
- bagels need a total makeover, paid $19 for an undertoasted flavourless bagel with feta on one side with sliced tomatoes with salmon. No seasoning or other sauces to be found. :(
As a positive, the staff were really apologetic and kind when we expressed disappointment and offered a pastry and free coffee. Thank you for being open to criticism- hopefully the next experience will be better than this one.
E.Oh my word these guys just got in what can only be described as the best carrot cake in the world! AND it’s gluten free. So now not only the best coffee in Takapuna but this cake on top, they’re Magic. Can confirm, breakfasts are good here too :)

Other than coffee, I really recommend you trying them one of their teas! Absolutely amazing! They use real herbs and spices which gives a great aromatic that you wouldn’t be able to find it elsewhere!
It is a shame that they do not have any vegan cakes today, but otherwise its an absolute lovely experience to be here!
F.I am so glad to have discovered this gem of a cafe. Food was absolutely delicious. I had the pulled pork tacos and boy were they mouthwatering good. Their coffee was also well made. The service also made my visit great. Staff were lovely, really welcoming and efficient. Overall a 5/5 experience.

W.Went here with my wife on a Saturday morning to get some breakfast. We booked through First Table, and were greeted by smiling faces when we arrived at 8.00am.
We both had the Zomer breakfast, and that was a great idea. The food was incredible, and was really good value for money. Using the First Table website, we got a really good deal, but even if we didn't get a deal, we'd be back here. Staff were really friendly. Highly recommended
Location is also fantastic, so close to Takapuna beach, which makes for a nice walk after a good meal.
T.We clearly picked the wrong time to arrive for brunch - 1130. 5 tables were available but stacked with dirty dishes from the last customer. In the end we cleaned up the table ourselves as did several others. Ordered at the counter- 30 minutes wait for food. Still no one cleared the dirty tables during that entire time. The food was good but having to sit and eat amongst dirty tables was not very conducive to any enjoyment of the occasion. I would have thought that post-Covid cleanliness would be paramount and all tables wiped and cleared between customers. Won't be rushing back.
h.After being shown to our seats we were left sitting there for about 15 mins before having our order taken, in the mean time we saw a few tables arrive after us and get served before us and the waitress who seated us seemed to just wander around aimlessly looking confused lol. The food was great and if I was basing this on food alone I would score a 5/5 but unfortunately the service lets this place down. Also please bring mimosas back to the menu!

J.The whole establishment radiates the feeling of a casual summer café, with help from an actual summer day in our case. Wonderful outdoor terrace under a yellow-striped awning, great coffee and tasty variations on plenty of breakfast, brunch and lunch classics.
They were casually accomodating to kids too (we had a 1 year old and an 8 year old and had no issues) staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing. We loved it!
M.We only popped in her for a quick snack so I cannot comment on their menu items. The staff saw to us immediately and dropped us down a bottle of water.
We had a flat white, a Zomer smoothie and a blueberry muffin.
Coffee was good although I do prefer it warmer (personal choice), the smoothie was made from fresh ingredients and was very refreshing on a hot summer day.
The blueberry muffin came with butter. It was crusty and tasted freshly baked.
The cafe is small but has lots of outdoor seating in a quiet relaxing setting. Having sampled these we would be keen to return to try some of the menu items.

M.Nice and cozy place where we can actually have a decent conversation instead of shouting over. 4 of us had different plate and all were very successful. Always love the coffee they serve. A place I will visit quite often without a hassle.

M.Mixed feelings about Zomer. The food was great, but we shouldn't need to ask for cutlery after the food was delivered, nor should we have to ask for kids menus when we had 2 kids in tow. Good food let down by lax service.
T.The avocado bagel was a nice brunch meal. The coffee was okay. The coffee made with almond milk was quite burnt and wasn't enjoyed by my friend. Mine with regular milk was fine but nothing memorable. An adequate cafe.

R.I've only eaten here twice, but there isn't a great range of food. It is often busy, and you have to park on the street. I would't recommend this place unless you are Dutch and want to remember home.
