Stumbled across this little cafe while out geocaching and thought it would be the perfect place to stop for some refreshments and it certainly was. What a little diamond, staff are so so friendly, take the time to engage with you like your old friends over for a visit. The food was delicious. As a vegan I don't often find something I can eat and when I do the flavour just isn't always there. Not true for here though, the samosa I had was bursting with flavour from the very first bite. I really can't rate it enough. The cafe is also very clean and as a wonderful atmosphere, highly recommend.

Great cafe and gallery just off the main road, and well worth the visit. Had the big breakfast, can highly recommend if you are hungry. Great meal, a good example of a Kiwi Breakfast. Great way to start my trip north, thanks so much.

Friendly staff make you feel welcome. We have stopped a few times for coffee on the run, the coffee and fries are great. We are intending to go back for lunch as the cabinet food looked very appetising, and hopefully they have some hidden gems on the menu as well. Dog friendly which for us is bonus.

Stopped at this cafe and had the chocolate brownie. It was so lovely sitting outside in the sun amongst the tidy, lush gardens. The staff were really friendly and cheerful. The brownie was delicious, seved warm and with cream. A lovely vibe at this place and I look forward to calling in again. My sister stopped recently and her kids enjoyed the playground at the rear of the building.

Wonderful Cafe with great decor. The food and tea was very good but the highlight for us was the history of the Cafe and how it was transformed from an ugly building into a stylish Cafe and gallery. You have to read the book they have about their transition. The artist/owner Kim Henderson has work displayed and a very interesting book of her life and art, the stories are told with fantastic drawings and lots of humor. Kim and staff are very friendly and fun to be around. A must see if passing the area. 1

A great cafe with ceramics and paintings for sale. Huge carpark and lovely gardens with an impressive gazebo. Indoor outdoor tables. A great place to go to. A destination cafe for sure! We were also impressed by the extensive vinyards at Greta Valley.

A nice place to stop mid travels. They have a great selection of food and drinks. There's also some fantastic ceramics by Kim, we may buy some when next in there.

9 of us stopped for a coffee close to closing. Good cheerful service, and nice coffee. Nice ice cream too. Will try the food next time, but what was left looked good.

We had to grab lunch on our way to Picton and this was perfect place. Excellent location but you can miss this if you dont notice. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. We told them we are in a hurry and they set right expectations for wait time. One of staff was so kind enough to keep updating with a gorgeous smile. Soup of day, Fish & chips & brownie were awesome. I would strongly recommend this place.

What a great place to stop! Blink and you’ll pass it so make sure to program it into your google maps - great coffee (decaf was good) and the homemade sausage roll was the best i have had in a LONG time! Great service and plenty of seating inside and outside. Toilets nice and clean too. Definitely recommend...!!!

Awesome cafe! Really friendly staff and very good coffee and brekkie! Had the eggs benny and scrambled eggs on toast with lots of parsley - highly recommend. Super cute decor.

Was cold inside, hot chocolate was warm, corn fritters were hard and not hot. Felt like staff did not want to talk friendly. Enjoyed previous visits.

Never use to stop here but WOW, food excellent (especially homemade pies), coffee excellent, clean and lovely service. Will be a must stop from now on.

The Best Soup & Garlic bread we've ever had! We were in a rush to catch the Ferry and had a long drive ahead of us, staff told us there were other customers waiting for their food but would try their best and they managed to deliver before the promised time! The dude behind the counter looked a bit flustered but the ladies were on point! A definite stop if you're driving past, highly recommended. :)

Large comfortable indoor and outdoor seating areas. Log fire going on cold days to get warmed up by. Great service and great coffee. Good selection of food, but unfortunately I was pressed for time so will have to come back to sample that. Customer toilets including a a disabled cubicle. Plenty of off street parking right out front.

Lovely staff, and the chocolate brownie was so delicious. This place has a real unique touch with all the artwork on the walls including the hilarious and shocking magazine cover artwork from the 1960's. This place is a great little rest stop for a bite to eat and a great coffee.

Stop by for a coffee and snack before head to Kaikoura. Vintage style, love those bakery tray on the wall. I have a beef pie which is just DIVIDE! You can taste it’s so homemade and fresh! It’s the best pie I had ever have!

Eggs Benedict and coffee were nothing short of great. The staff were wonderful, happy and had some great info about the surrounding locations. Definitely stop in this place if you have the chance!

Great food atmosphere and service

Just love this cafe, well worth the drive through the beautiful rolling hills of North Canterbury. A friendly welcome and delicious Moroccan pumpkin soup with bread baked on the premises - so yummy, and filling. Kim Henderson's beautiful pottery pieces are always tempting and yes, I did make a small purchase!

I've never experienced a Chicken , Bacon & Mushroom pie before..it was the best, the $8 was worth every penny. Sausage was nice~ but pie better :)

Delicious food! We had a wonderful meal. Full menu with breakfast, lunch, pizza and many homemade desserts. House made speciality pizzas. Wine, beer and cider. Kim and Kerry are gracious friendly owners.

PS Novermber myself and 10 other ladies went here on the way to Gore Bay for my hens party. The staff were great and much more organized than time before. Food and atmosphere was great. Stopped for a coffee. As with most places these days it takes a long time for the coffee to be made. So much so we had long finished our muffins before the drinks came. Otherwise a pleasant place to stop.

Apparently, due to health and safety, they are only allowed to serve food above a certain temperature. This temperature for some people is too cold😔.....also the cafe was a bit cold despite the fire
