First time here this morning. Flat white was lovely but was so disappointed with the keto coffee cake. It LOOKED amazing but was dry, crumbly and didn't have much of a coffee taste. I will be back though it's a beautiful cafe and has some parking which is handy.

Good service and food usually looks exceptional nice quiet and calm atmosphere. It is a very nice cafe. If I had to make an improvement it would be the amount of parking, you can park on the street but it's a bit difficult especially crossing as it's near a crossroads but aprt from that it is very good

Lovely clean building, great atmosphere and it’s close to the University of Canterbury. There are some spaces for parking but they can fill up quickly. Food and Coffee are good and the staff are wonderful

Just had a wonderful breakfast 'date' with some workmates. The food was exceptional (and that was just off the menu - the cabinet items alone are worth another visit or three!) Staff are friendly and helpful, the feeling is relaxed and friendly, and the 7am opening appreciated. Would recommend.

As a coffee batista myself, the coffee was done great! They use the La marzocco which is a Very expensive commercial coffee machine for high quality coffee. This guy knows how to use it! Excellent service as well from the waiters and waitress

Always such a pleasant time when I come here. The staff are lovely and the food is excellent. Big breakfast is really good and their iced chocolate has ice cream and cream which is always a winner from me!

One of the nicest cafes in Christchurch, with amazing staff, delicious food, great coffee, and a really nice vibe. There’s both a menu and cabinet food, and really affordable deals. Since the new owners took over (some time in 2018) I’ve made this place a destination: I’ll drive past other cafes to get here. It’s also licensed, with a Friday happy hour from 1630 to 1800hrs :)

Perfect cafe experience today. Had blueberry muffins and a brownie - amazing. Great coffee (and offered hot water with long black 🙏). Excellent service - coffee was delivered in under two minutes with a bright friendly smile. Highly recommend.

Awesome staff and awesome place. Pulled pork buns were the best ever and a must-try. Definitely one of the best coffee shops I've ever been to in Christchurch. It's coffee plus more. As a student, the prices are reasonable and I'll definitely recommend this place to my friends.

I came here for the first time yesterday and I had the most amazing experience. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. The smoothie was delicious and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. I can’t wait to come back. This has to be the best coffee shop I’ve been to in a long time. I will recommend them to everyone.

Wow , the charcoal pulled pork bun was absolutely delicious. Followed by a perfect coffee. Thank you for your lovely food and great service.

I've been here almost every day since I moved to Christchurch. They are not far from where I live and have friendly staff that make you feel welcome every time. good food and great coffee. As i said i keep going back for the coffee.

A five star café! My family stopped going before lockdown last March due to a significant drop in the standards of food, coffee, and decent hospitality. It was actually embarrassing, no longer a place worth even walking past. By chance we went back and what a difference! New owner, new manager, new chef, new staff. This is no longer the LB’s that we experienced that short time ago. What David, David & their new team have done with this place is make it a place you are excited to go to! A modern & friendly local café where the service is slick, the food is delicious, and the coffee is fantastic (as are the smoothies by chance.) You feel that same standard each time. No matter how busy, it’s our new Sunday favourite! If you were hesitant about going to LB’s due to past issues please, please try it again!!!

This is a proper café. The coffee is excellent and competitively priced. The staff are professional, and welcoming. I am addicted to their berry pancakes and need a 12-step programme to wean myself off them. Just discovered their house-made brownies — quite possibly the best I have had in recent memory! This place is under new management, and is vastly improved, in my humble opinion. Ilam is very lucky to have Dave, Fiona and Nathan running this place. Highly recommend this place. :)

Very friendly staff. I love coming here for breakfast, the mushrooms and bacon is my favorite.

Excellent service and vibes! The large flat white is definitely a go! The bronze toasted Panini’s were delicious and the chips complimented them well.

Coffee fantastic. Food good value and tasty. All new staff and our order was not standard. Our meals did not arrive at the same time but staff came to us to explain and apologise. Very professional and genuine. Things do go wrong but how they are acknowledged and managed make or break the experience. Staff today made it.

A good coffee shop with tasty food. A good place to have a discussion or spent time alone. Near the university of Canterbury. Good atmosphere. Short eats are also available. Friendly staff.

Chips w cheese n gravy were good as was the coffee. Disliked being given a menu to go and sit down only to have to go up again to order. Finished the coffee long before the food came. $35 for 2 coffee and 2 orders of chips.

Delicious lattes. Have had a breakfast scone and a salad bowl for lunch. All very good and priced reasonably. Very happy to have this around the corner from my house.

Nice place for coffee! Great customer service and good range of food. Spacious place and good number of car parks and plenty of off-street parking. Good value for money and they also have gluten/dairy free options.

This is a great spot to catch up on some work over coffee. The tables are well suited to laptops and at 4pm there are few people about. The coffee hits the spot and it is nice to see some sweet options without refined sugar. Only downside is the lack of WiFi but I usually have enough data left on my mobile plan to use it as a hotspot.

Been here before and food fine, service was as expected, all ok :) As a suggestion for the business ...english breakfast tea.... please get some decent loose leaf tea and don't use the fine mesh tea bags that house the tea leaf dust. For the cost charged this would be expected...you'd not serve instant coffee-btw coffee was good last time.

After a big night, came here with my mates on a Sunday bought eggs bene, nachos, chips and a smoothie. All the food was great, smoothie was tasty and the service peps where great.

Consistently good food (their DIY bagel is fantastic! Especially for fussy eaters) and coffees and very friendly staff. Definitely better quality food and service than the average kiwi cafe! Great at catering to all ages and groups, and they offer a student discount. Great atmosphere and a very clean and tidy cafe. I would (and have) reccomend this to anyone for any occasion. Edit: i've now been coming here for 4 years. They continue to uphold their high standards, love the little team that work there, they will for sure take care of you!

The Cafe has become a regular spot for coffee meetings with people outside the uni, as it is much easier for people to get to than coming onto the UC campus.

Stopped in for a coffee today and specifically asked for it to be in a cup rather than a glass. It seems that was too difficult and it arrived in a glass. Too hot to handle. Next time, different cafe.

Came here for the first time, and was pleasantly surprised! Cosy interior, and lovely staff. Despite not really having vegan options, the chef was able to customise the eggs on toast to mushrooms on toast for me, and they were super tasty! I really appreciated that. Apparently it's under new ownership, and a new menu is incoming, so I'm keen to see what's on that, and whether there might be a few vegan options.
