A.Really enjoyed the coffee and berry cake. The owner was very helpful and took my order over the phone so that we wouldn't wait too long for our food. Note that they have an updated menu (and opening hours)!

K.Vegan cafe with delicious options to choose from. My friend generally doesn't like overly sweet items from cabinet and she was surprised by the perfect amount of sweetness in the cabinet food. Really loved it. Simple decor and quick service. Bit pricey!!!
A.I overall liked the cafe with soothing interior, very tidy and good hygiene had plenty of things, The "staff guy on barista was interactive and happy to see us", his expressions defined that he was enjoying his work but the female staff was totally opposite and looked super dull I smiled and said Hi to greet her but got no response however we all had delicious pancakes and dumplings that saved our experience from ruining it, they were really good from my experience I would hit (𝟴/𝟭𝟬) for it. Will surely check in again someday to notice things that I have missed. Thank you.
C.Great place for coffee or even if you want to eat some great food. The oat flat white is awesome and their tea has an unique taste. I like the design of The Origin its very modern and you can see they put a lot of work into it.
It’s also very quiet if you like to have a tea and study for a while.
Staff is very friendly, Andy is awesome, highly skilled and always helpful.

S.This is the best breakfast we have had in the entire time we have been in NZ. Cant remember the last time in Sydney we had such a great brekkie to. All vegan and also temple food. No onion or garlic. Coffee is great and there are these cool tea infusion devices they have on the counter which is interesting to watch. Hosts are super nice !

S.This scramble was amazing. I'm often disappointed when I order scramble but Origin does it right! Plenty of veggies and the spice mix was perfect! I had to have it twice during my brief stay in ChCh.
The coffee alone is worth a stop. Their barista knows what they're doing and their coffee beans are fragrant and delicious.
I.So peaceful despite being on a busy intersection. Those big windows must be special. Great to get truly awesome vegan food including a smashing chocolate brownie.

H.A really good place to have some tea with light food. The atmosphere is nice and clean. Staff are so friendly and considerate. I ordered a wrap of veggies and hummus, which tasted delicious with layers of flavour. Highly recommend this place if you want to have something fresh.
S.Gorgeous place so serene,food is so lovely and everything that I had is really good but my favourite is the Vegan Hunan " chicken " rice as its so authentic!The staff are really lovely and its such a lovely interior to be in you want to stay for hours and soak in the peaceful vibe.

We thought our long blacks were quite strong, which is great. The food looked nice, though I can’t speak for the taste as I didn’t order any.
In my opinion the tea is a little pricey, I believe I saw prices of $7. It’s NZ grown tea so that explains - but those prices aren’t exactly my cup of tea.

N.Definately the place to go for great coffee. No diary options so recommend oak milk if you don't prefer another non diary milk option. Nice quiet interior space to chill out a catch up with friends too. Must try for coffee lovers!

W.Great place particularly if you are vegetarian or vegan. They have a good tea selection and great coffee but just bear in mind that they have no milk only dairy substitute oat, almond, coconut etc
L.Today cousin and I went to trial this cafe. Very busy and wet outside so was nice to get a coffee and order some dumplings for me and pancake rolls for cousin. The rolls may have benefitted a bit more from a little extra mayo or sauce on the side. My dumplings were great as not something I have ever ordered before. Coffee was OK not hot enough but apparently I am told you need to ask for a 'hot 'coffee and they can make it hotter for you (who knew that. 😕) anyway will be back staff friendly and the chocolate brownie slice was pretty yum.
T.Such beautiful thoughtful service, food is exceptional and unique. Coffee and all beverages are specialty and prepared to such a standard we haven't found anywhere else in Chch. We make a special visit every time we travel here to see my family, thankful to my sister in law for showing us this place. Look forward to our visit.
M.A wonderful scandi inspired minimalistic space accompanied by an equally elegant and minimal menu. Come and stay for the quality simplicity. A refreshing undertaking in an often overloaded and bombarding environment.

It starts when you walk through the door and are welcomed with a smile and a bit of banter.
Then the only tricky bit starts: what meal and what coffee or tea would I like today? There are too many great choices - which makes any choice the right choice.
And then it's time to sit down, absorb the relaxing atmosphere and enjoy the culinary delicacies.

The food is top notch, healthy and consistent.

K.Wow! Lauren is an amazing chef, so much so that I always order the chefs surprise and don't even ask what's in it.
The service is impeccable, the cafe has a high standard of cleanliness and the ambiance is the perfect panacea to the hustle and bustle of city life outside.
I live in Hornby and work in Waltham, but still consider this my local, as it's worth going to regularly.

G.This is a place for tea and coffee connoisseurs and vegetarians. It was very popular late morning. I've never seen the neat way they infuse their tea. If it weren't for the cabinet food, they'd have a very limited menu. There was a sense of irony with $9 coffees in this cafe, and $1 pies advertised across the road.

M.Crisp clean decor, love the indoor plants. The food is alternative and you want to be there before 2pm to be guaranteed a bite - this food is not mass produced. Ingredients are along the lines of dairy/gluten free, for example I had a lovely hummingbird cake with coconut yogurt on top.
