Such a fun place to visit - absolute must do when in Dunedin. Such a transparent process, especially when the company is owned by locals. The tasting was so
enlightening - absolutely reminds you why quality over quantity.
A big shout out to Grace - who
made our experience totally worth it.

What a great wee tasting experience! Loved the "Choctagon" and the actual chocolate is beautiful.
G.
Another of Dunedins friendly and very welcoming visitors to their business. Loved the tour and taste at the store. Definitely worth a visit. Well done Dunedin! Chocolate is to die for and a unique flavour for everyone.
J.
Awesome service, the staff member was very well informed about the chocolate being sold, the taste and the origin. Also gave out samplers and the hot chocolate choices were very new and exciting! Definitely recommend and will go again!

Specifically came by for breakfast since we were running out of time in Dunedin. It was a bit hard to find since there was building works and the entrance was partially covered with scaffolding.
They specialise in proper chocolate. They have hot chocolate options with different cocoa percentages, the menu on the blackboard beside the counter. They also had cabinet food which also had chocolate in it. It did take a while for the hot chocolates to arrive but when they did you can see why. We had different faces for the three different hot chocolates.I personally found the hot chocolate (the lowest cocoa percentage) a bit too bitter. The flavours were interesting but it too dark for me. The brownie was a bit better but still on the bitter side. THe caramel slice was good especially with the tempered chocolate on top, but it did make it harder to share. This isn't the place for sweet chocolate items.
They also sell their chocolate block on the shelves near the counter. A great place for those who love their dark chocolate.

Awesome tour with a very knowledgeable guide. Quality locally-craft chocolate with a variety of flavours. Tour and chocolate highly recommended!
S.
Quick little tour of a well explained chocolate experience and production. The tasting room was very informative and samples very varied in taste and quality. Would have been nice on such a cold day to have a nice hot chocolate to finish off the tour wouldve been perfect. But still a good tour.
M.
Great pitstop for quality chocolate gifts (and some yummy well-priced imperfect samples for myself!)
T.
A delightful place to learn more about producing and appreciating chocolate. Level walking distance from Dunedin station (the scenery along the way won't win any awards). The staff are super-friendly and there is a gift shop that's worth visiting even if you can't make a tour.
J.
Great company, great customer service. Really appreciated their help with my missing order! Love their chocolate!! Particularly the Hot Cross Bun bar and in fact, all of their chocolate.
G.
Very interesting. The staff member who gave us the tour and tasting was very good . This Company is another great asset for Dunedin .
M.
Really nice staff and amazing chocolate. A educational tour about chocolate. I recommend buying OCHO chocolate and going a get a tour.
J.
Holy cow! I love chocolate, it's one of my favourite things 💗 I'm talking real chocolate, the rich dark kind. I recently discovered BEEKEEPER by OCHO and it is my new best friend in the chocolate world. Clearly OCHO knows how to make real chocolate because this stuff is delicious! It's rich and creamy with honey, bee pollen and amaranth. With 63% cacao beans it's the real deal for sure 😊
C.
Love the cafe. My go to place for chocolate gifts. The sampler box is great. Off overseas so bought blocks of chocolate for unique Dunedin thankyou gifts. Also tried their chocolate dipped salted caramel truffles. Yum! 10/10.
A.
Superb space to learn about single origin chocolate from the Pacific. Any foodie worth their salt should book a tour of their factory tour. This is the future of retail: ethical, sustainable, and deeply knowledgeable.
B.
The factory Tour was a delight, had an entertaining time watching my nephew, 7yo, and neice 5yo, trying the chocolate samples. It's brilliant how you get to see the machinery and workers making chocolate 😊
A.
Great tour. We were given a lot of information on how chocolate was made and the staff were lovely and friendly. Was ten dollars each and a good experience with a lot of samples.
G.
Its such a lovely cafe, and the hot chocolates are delicious, love the spicy one. I bought some of the chocolate last time I went and everyone at home loved it so much, I bought 3 blocks but they all dissapeared in only a couple days. The cakes are also very tasty
C.
Super cute place! Love the story behind this local chocolate! I had the hot chocolate 70% and it was perfect. I also bought the gift box- so great for a chocolate lover (and a really good deal).
R.
I've visited this shop a few times when I'm in town and it never disappoints. The staff are lovely, attentive, and happy to explain about the different chocolates (including providing samples). The chocolate itself is delicious and really rich. You can even watch them making it in the back room. The hot chocolates are decadent, and the coffee is great. I've tried a few of the baked goods, and again - all superb. Cannot fault this place. If you are in Dunedin, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a little Ocho-Love. (My personal favorite is the H&P. It won't be to everyone's tastes, but I love the herbal fruitiness these pure NZ ingredients impart on the rich dark PNG chocolate).
B.
Wow I deliberately went to Dunedins farmers market to buy this. I am from Gisborne, and a shareholder, but had never tried it before. I am very impressed with flavour. It is definitely a chocolate to eat a little at a time and just savoury the taste. Keep up the good work!
M.
Really lovely and knowledgeable staff. The iced coffee I had was lovingly crafted and made with Allpress beans. Was offered samples of the chocolate before purchasing too. A little gem of a place to visit
C.
This place cares about high quality craftsmanship, and it feels kinda special. It’s just a wee spot on Vogel street, but it’s one of the cutest with absolutely amazing chocolate and coffee. I haven’t tried the cabinet food but that’s because my priority was to eat as much craft chocolate as I could. My favourite has gotta be the salted caramel, it’s unbeatable, but my must try is the horopito and kawakawa, it’s totally unique to Aotearoa, and seriously delicious!
G.
Absolutely amazing experience on their tour, it was so interesting learning all about chocolate and how it's made. Then tasting the beans and raw products as well as the amazing final product was so incredible.
N.
We came for a chocolate tour and tasting. It was excellent and Jared was a great guide. It was really cool to see and taste the journey the chocolate goes through from bean to delicious chocolate!
V.
Can't really say much about this place.
Visited as it had been on the Paul & Nicks tour of New Zealand cookery program, which recently aired in the UK. As a chocolate lover I knew it was a must visit location on my tour of New Zealand.
When I arrived the one member of staff was busy chatting to and serving another customer.
I selected a beekeeper chocolate bar, however as I went to pay I noticed that Ocho had another site nearby, (10 Roberts Street), which advertised tours, so I figured it might be a bigger venue. I put my chocolate back and went to Roberts Street, however it was deserted. No choloate for me 😔
M.
Local fine chocolate tastings, factory and shop. Care and passionate attention to decadence .. support deserved for quality driven Dunedin business...

Calorie palace. Even smells delicious!

Changed upon this little gem while on a walk. Tried the PNG 70% -- yummy. They also do a Mexican style chilli hot chocolate. Might try that before I leave. On the whole though, cozy casual environment and definitely worth a stop if you love chocolate.
A.
A big thank you to Jared for this very interesting tour into Ocho factory. I learnt a lot about how to make chocolate (I'm a chocolate lover) and the tasting part was very nice. Merci beaucoup ;) Andrea

The best thing to do in Dunedin. Excellent chocolate, interesting tour on how chocolate is made - field to market, and fantastic tasting of craft chocolate. Great for adults! Highly recommended to anyone coming to Dunedin for a day, or living here.
