Amazing! I wish I had visited sooner. Staff were lovely and it was nice seeing lots of people bringing their doggos in with them for brunch too 😍 if your looking for somewhere for brunch this is it! 🔥

Beautifully crafted french toast. My favourite place if I pass by hamilton. Found this plaxe when on business trip in Hamilton. It looks like a normal cafe by the church, but it serves yummy food. A must try.

We came down from Auckland to see some friends over breakfast but honestly we would have come down just for the food! So, so delicious. My mushrooms were the tastiest mushroom dish I've ever had in a cafe, the flavours are so well balanced and it looked so beautiful on the plate. It's quite a busy place but our wait time wasn't too long and they have good coffee. It's a nice, clean bright space and very friendly staff. 10/10 would go back.

Kirk Cafe is a lovely cafe located on Te Aroha Street which is a short walk from Hamilton cbd. The interior is decorated with pot plants and has an indoor and outdoor area which is perfect for visiting on any kind of weather. The staff are friendly & attentive and the food is consistently served in a timely manner. All of the dishes I’ve had have been divine and beautifully presented (art on a plate!) 🥰😋 The menu changes on a seasonal basis so there’s always something new to try and if you want a light meal or a delicious treat, there’s a variety of items to choose from the food cabinet as well. The wonderful food and friendly service is the main reason why I keep returning! ☺️ Would highly recommend this cafe to anyone who’s looking for a delicious breakfast or lunch spot! 😊

The food here is amazing! So many flavours and colours on one plate that compliment each other and aren’t too much. You get plenty of food for each dish. There’s indoor, covered patio, and outdoor shaded seating so plenty of options. Staff were nice and the food came relatively quickly. Lovely little spot next to the church. Be sure to order the poached eggs chicken and waffles before 11:30!

Lovely service and extensive food options. Nice spatious outdoor grassy area good for the kids. Mine enjoyed playing in the lovely big tree which only worked as it was a quieter day. Portions were good sized or large and prices were very high, prepared mains being $25 on average. Case salad was huge and kids fish and chips contained 2 bites and a medium sized bowl of chips for $12. Was a lovely experience, but awfully expensive.

Great cafe. Busy with lots of customers. They do sell out of dishes by afternoon so if you want to make sure you can choose from the whole menu, i would go early! Pricey though haha probably highest priced cafe ive been to.

The most amazing take away brunch flavors were amazing and the combinations on each plate work so well together their Lamb Dosa was the star of the show and that’s a tough call considering how delicious the fried chicken burger was, my daughter demolished her cheese burger in the car before we even made it home because she simply couldn’t wait any longer🤤 can’t express enough how much we enjoyed our meals!!! Will definitely be back and if you haven’t tried the Kirk cafe for yourself yet make sure it’s first on your list you won’t regret it 👍🏻

Husband wanted to try this place because he’d seen it full of people every time he drove by! We were beyond surprised!! I had the Vege Spanish Egg and hubby the French Toast. This was the find of 2020. Mine was magnificent! So many fabulous flavours and ingredients cooked to perfection. Hubby was super impressed with the dried berries, fluffy French toast, rhubarb, custard and gelato!! He’s not usually a big fan of French Toast but hadn’t had it for a very long time and was so glad he did. This is a place to take your friends and family (or partner) who you want to impress!! Great spot tucked away from the hustle and bustle and near Claudelands Arena - which was handy for me. The eggs bene with bacon was up there with the best of them. The little potato rostis and feta whip really topped it off nicely. Great coffee to. Loved it!

I ordered one each of the special French tarts made for Mother's day to help support local during the level 3 lockdown. The photos made them look amazing. I am delighted to say that not only were they beautifully made and presented, but they are the BEST I have had in a very long time. I will most certainly be ordering more and once we are able to dine in, I will most certainly be dining in!

WARNING IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO VISIT WITH BABIES/SMALL KIDS! We visited the Kirk Cafe earlier this week, and were a bit shocked how unaccommodating the cafe is if you have babies or toddlers. 1) prams need to stay outside, even on weekdays when there are hardly any customers inside. I can understand this rule for busy weekend times, but not when it's so quiet (I've been to much more cramped cafes and never had this issue). Even though I'm 37 weeks pregnant, I ended up carrying my 18 month old crying son and our bags into the cafe. 2) Once inside, we were told there was no highchair for us to use. Apparently it got broken and not replaced again. 3) We asked whether we could sit outside in the grass (easier to manage toddler in the garden than inside). It was a beautiful sunny and dry day, and hadn't been raining the last couple of days. We were told it's not possible as it is too muddy. The lawn looked perfectly fine and there were even 2 tables already outside. We only asked to put a couple of chairs on the lawn. 4) the inside area didn't have many options for managing small kids either, (no highchair or play area), and I didn't want to spend the whole time running after him. I voiced my disappointment to staff member and asked what families with babies/toddler were supposed to do, but was only given a "sorry we can't" answer. If I may propose some solutions to the cafe: - especially when the customer is a heavily pregnant woman with a small child, I feel you could have been a bit more accommodating and made an exception to the no prams & no sitting outside rules - have at least 2 highchairs available, so that if one should break or be used, there is at least another one We ended up ordering takeaway coffees and left feeling really disappointed at the lack of sensibility to our situation and no willingness to provide solutions. The reason for my stars is that the coffees were good and the food looked good too.

The highest compliment I can give this place is that the only thing that I didn't find perfect was the little flowery decorations on my dish. And that's just my opinion. Everything else was objectively amazing! The price might be a bit higher than average but the quality of the food and drink is bar none the best I've ever had. Totally worth it. Ordered the Eggs Benedict + Southern fried chicken combo with a flat white. The chicken was perfectly crumbed and delicious. The eggs were pristine and so was the bacon. The sauces complimented the flavours nicely. Coffee was strong without being too bitter. Perfect.

I recently visited The Kirk Cafe with my new baby, mother in law and nana. The food presentation was beautiful, it was so delicious and my coffee was really good. While we were there my elderly nana lost consciousness and we had to call an ambulance. Luckily there happened to be many doctors in the cafe at the time. The owner or the cafe was so amazing. She held my 6 week old baby while we were trying to help my nana. She even gave my mother in law and myself a free coffee after my nana was taken away in the ambulance. I cannot recommend this cafe enough. We will definitely be back soon. Hopefully the next visit will be a little less dramatic haha

Very nice cafe just outside the CBD. Food is not cheap but worth the money. Many Asian-inspired dishes and really nice presentation of the food. The vegan curried quinoa salad was lovely and portion size generous. I do wonder if they always have vegan options. There were none on the lunch menu, so the cabinet salad was my only option. Would be nice if they added a couple to their menu. UPDATE: Menu now has a couple of vegan options, and the Thai curry was delicious. Only negative is that all their food seems to be very salty.

A cafe with decent portions that taste good! Had the huge omelette (worth the wait) and also tried some other cabinet food. Took us a while to find as we thought it was a part of the church driving past, but if you find it it's a nice place to stop for a break.

The coffee is perfect, the food is divine. It’s not just divine, it’s art. The plate presentation is exquisite. Each bite unfolds layers of flavor and texture you start to think you’ve never had breakfast before. Without a doubt the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Cheers to the chef, a truly singular and brilliant artist. (Pics are avacado on toast and eggs on brioche with insanely delicious thyme butter and bacon)

This cozy little cafe was recommended to us by a waiter at another restaurant (we were looking for a place to have breakfast the following morning). Wow, what a great recommendation! The food here is terrific, enough to warrant stopping here if passing through town. It's the bacon, however, that warrants making the extra effort to come here from wherever you are. We've had a lot of bacon in our time but nothing ever like this. They may well serve the world's greatest bacon here.

Great cafe! The food at the Kirk is always beautifully presented and tasty. The French toast never disappoints the eyes or stomach. The style of food is less generic than your usual cafe with unique and modern flavour combinations (it offers more than just pancakes and eggs bene). The cafe itself is quite small, I would recommend snatching a table inside early during winter or sitting outside during summer.

Great little cafe near the river in Hamilton east, never been before. I had the tofu noodle salad which was nice, but a little oily, think it would have been better if I’d asked for it to be heated. My friend had the the non carb chicken burger made with butter milk which was lovely. I had lemon tart which was great and the coffee good. Was mid week but would imagine it will be busy at the weekend, be nice if they could put tables on the grass at the front as would like to take the dog with us.

This little gem is a spectacular find... the chef has an amazing flair for colourful plates that are peices of artwork, and incredible on the tastebuds. With new options frequently to the menu this is certainly one cafe that has me going back for more.

The Kirk Cafe is at the River Rd end of Te Aroha Street. Staff are always friendly but sometimes there can be quite a wait. Food is counter or menu. Inside and outside dining although outside is limited in the winter. Free outside-the-door parking in nominated car parks.

Found this cafe via random google search. Food was fantastic! I love it but I didn't like the dessert. It was too sweet for me. Coffee was just ok. Service was just ok too. Some are friendly but some are arrogant / bossy. Quality of service can be improved. For example, we ordered cake. Cake came to our table with no cutlery. The waitress brought it but no serviettes. Prams not friendly. You can take the pram with you and dine at the grass area which is good. However, to access there, there's a steps and you need to lift your pram which is not convenience. Overall, I liked the food so ★★★

We are in Hamilton over night from put of town. Went here for lunch, and back for breakfast the next day. The most delicious cafe food i have had in new zealand over my MANY years on this planet. I've been a regular of this cafe for a while now and it's definitely my go-to in the Waikato. The dishes are bursting with flavour and different textures and always beautifully presented. I'm consistently impressed by how fast their service is despite how busy it can get, especially on the weekends. The front of house staff are lovely and their coffee is amazing! The chef always invents creative, new menus and the cabinet items are divine too. My favourite dishes are their fried chicken eggs bene, their breakfast burgers and their signature french toast. Some of their menu items are very popular so I recommend visiting earlier in the day if you don't want to miss out. I also appreciate that they have lots of vegetarian and keto options so it's effortless to recommend to family and friends with different dietary needs :)

This Cafe is a must try. The food is to die for and the service and coffee is also great.They get quite often busy so I would recommend to go early.There baking and the muffins are amazing. Kirsty and her team serve delicious, wholesome food in a location that is peaceful and quiet and yet so close to the city centre. The savoury muffins, whatever the flavour of the day, are always superb. So many times at other cafes I've been disappointed because a savoury muffin has turned out to be a bit of chopped spinach & feta stirred into a semisweet packet muffin mix. Well, that will never happen at The Kirk. And the mushrooms on toast with blue cheese are a revelation of subtle taste. An unpretensious cafe with maybe some culinary divine inspiration from its church neighbour!

Cool place to sit and have a coffee. I love the deconstructed hot chocolate. It can get very busy, so call ahead if you have a large party. I love the fact that there is an ocean view. The service was good so no complaints there 😉.

Hey guys My daughter and I went here for breakfast the other day, service was amazing, food was awesome. My daughter ate all her meal an the tiny bit that she let me have tasted great. Went there with a friend for lunch recently while visiting Hamilton and surpassed expectations, coffee was amazing and food was beautiful aesthetically and, of course, to eat. Salmon eggs Benedict with beetroot hollandaise was the best. Prices were definitely good, considering the quality of what you get. The Kirk is a lovely wee cafe on the east side of the river. Staff are friendly, service is prompt, and the atmosphere is relaxed with both indoor and outdoor seating situated for the sun. Hamilton has an abundance of cafes and many of them are good, but The Kirk is a cut above the rest. Each time we've been here the coffee has been great and the food outstanding - it is artfully presented and of course delicious. The Kirk's options for various dietary requirements are just as inventive as the rest of the menu, which makes a refreshing change from standard cafe fare!

The pork belly Benedict was a savory treat with a great mix of smooth and crunchy textures. As a traveller I have been to some of the most remote places New Zealand has to offer but if your going through Hamilton and you don’t stop in for a flat white and creme brûlée French toast your missing out.
