I.Really enjoyable cafe. 4 adults and 3 kiddies. We all enjoyed our meals (whitebait and bacon were excellent) and the kids shared a waffles which they demolished. Coffees were all excellent and the owner was lovely and bought out some paper and felts for the kids to draw.
C.Nice wee Cafe. Delicious gourmet pies and good coffee too. Everything is reasonably priced and there’s a great selection to choose from. The staff are very friendly and provide great customer service. I’d be very happy to come here again.

J.Visited this cafe for the first time today and ordered the corn and zucchini fritters without the bacon. The lovely lady who served me asked if I would like something else instead of bacon, like mushrooms, which I agreed to. When my meal arrived, I was impressed with the beautiful presentation (wish I took a photo before I enthusiastically dug in and devoured the lot!) Absolutely delicious...I will be back!

C.Loved our late lunch here and would recommend to others. We had 2 of the lunch specials (bacon and corn stack and toasted sandwich with fries) and they were a good size and great taste. Little things were good like the toasted sandwich was crunchy and the tomato really tasty and the coffee in a big mug. Also the lady who served us was lovely. Try it 😊

K.This is decent cafe with GREAT WiFi ! All most all other cafes in this town only give you 50MB free. So cheap! But cafe 39 is good to sit and hang out. It has a large seating area and also an outdoor space (see photos - March 2018). Light background music. Cheerful waitstaff. The pies are just “OK”. The quiche is “good”. We really enjoyed our time at this cafe, especially in the outdoor patio section! If you go, try it out - you get lots of natural light.

S.Service was perfect. Lovely lady who served me I would give 5 out of 5. I had a Home made which was delicious but not hot enough. I also had a huge date scone which I ate all. The lady heated it up for me. I asked for butter and it arrived with the scone. I had a pot of tea also.

G.This is a great cafe in Hokitika. I had Eggs Benedict here and they were delicious. I also had some of their loaded wedges and again they did a great job with those. I would recommend if you are looking for a nice cafe in Hokitika

m.As a visitor from Christchurch I am just sittting in Cafe 39 after enjoying amazing coffee and the fantastic whitebait sandwich they serve. I thoroughly recommend this lovely Cafe and the super friendly service with a smile.
D.Good coffee, great range of food, allergy friendly. Food was well presented and tasty. A bit tricky to get served, a few customers walked out while we were there as no one served them. Would go back.

L.(Translated) Atmosphere is really uncomfortable. I ordered a white chocolate and got a cocoa. It generally seemed that the employee at the cash register did not know that they offered white chocolate at all. The tomato soup was unfortunately only lukewarm when it was served.
But it tasted very good, the lemon cake was delicious too!

Atmosphäre ist recht ungemütlich. Hab eine Weiße Schokolade bestellt und einen Kakao bekommen. Es schien generell so, als ob die Mitarbeiterin an der Kasse nicht wusste, dass sie Weiße Schokolade überhaupt anbieten.. Die Tomatensuppe war leider nur lauwarm, als sie serviert wurde.
Geschmeckt hat es aber trotzdem sehr gut, auch der Zitronenkuchen war sehr lecker!
