R.Perfect little spot for a coffee and snack. They serve hot food, homemade cakes, sweets and do the best iced coffees (oat milk also for those lovers out there). The ladies in there are great and make the place feel homey. Highly recommend stopping in for alittle tea or lunch break.

Some places make you 😁 all day. The Mad Hatter's Cafe does that to me. Great ambiance, fanTAStic food. Oh my..., try their asparagus/cream cheese quiche or bacon and egg pie and you know somebody in the kitchen loves her job: Donna 💜Coffee delicious, hot chocolate outstanding. Superlatives won't do, just go there and taste for yourself. Compliments from us. Great service, friendly faces. Mad Hatter, you're aMAzing!
d.The perfect cafe. Nice vibe, nice staff and nice food + drink. The iced chocolate I had there was the best iced chocolate I had ever tasted. It had the perfect amount of ice, the perfect sized cup and perfect amount of cream.
A.Called into Madhatters Donna's Cafe for a Mocha on a drive up north. This Cafe is so quirky and with heaps of interesting various art items to look at. Lovely service from the ladies at the counter.

N.Lovely little cafe with great food and lots of it. I'm going back in a few more days to have the waffles which looked fantastic or maybe the broccoli cheese balls which are always tasty.
R.Sit out on the deck in the sunshine in the comfortable chairs. Pretty and well presented cafe with nice coffee & cakes. Take a photo in the giant chair. Dogs on leashes seemed to be welcome when we visited. Friendly & chatty staff.

R.Always great coffee, but also super accommodating. Nothing savoury and gf in the cabinet on the day I called in so they whipped up a quick gf toastie. Best place to stop in Kaeo.

r.Staff great coffee fantastic n creamy. I had the Truck n Trailer breakfast; sausages were un eatable and black pudding very gooey not the best. Better off just getting standard breakkie. Apart from that wonderfull.

D.Stopped her en route to Whangaroa - which has zero cafés. Didn't have much hope of finding a decent one in tiny Kaeo but I was wrong! Great coffee, friendly service, fun setup and a great chicken and scallop pie made Donna's a clear winner. Well done, we'll be back for sure.

s.Came here with my mother for lunch and was dazzled by the great service and the wonderland theme. The artwork and quotes on the wall really lifted our moods and brought back memories of the classic stories. It has character that most cafes lack as well as good food and good portions. Hoping to return soon, I hear the custard squares are amazing!
M.If I could give ten stars - I would have. Fresh food, thoughtfully prepared that came along with free advice about where else to eat along our journey. The cafe was packed yet the owner took time out for her customers. Excellent!

S.What a cool cafe that says it’s ok to bring your puppy on to the deck and then brings her a bowl of water. Picky eater kids loved their meals here and the adults did too.

R.The Hatters Benedict is as good as you'll get anywhere else and great value. Full on 2 eggs, bacon, hash brown, spinach and bagel with plenty of hollandaise sauce. If thats not enough then go for the full monty with Truck and Trailer that includes sausages, black pudding and tomatoes. And did I mention the staff are so friendly
