S.Stopped by here in the Autumn of 2019 after taking the Bluebridge overnight ferry for a quick bite before our Whale Watch tour (which was unfortunately cancelled due to the big swells that had also affected our crossing of the Cook Straight earlier that morning). Had the Eggs on Toast, which was a nice tummy filler.
J.Fantastic service, amazing views, delicious hot chocolate that comes with a chocolate covered spoon. I highly recommend to anyone passing by Kaikoura!
T.The Frech toast was delicious, the big breakfast wasnt as big as I expected comparing it to others weve had on this trip. Still a decent sized meal just not what I'd call big. Coffee was good. The chocolate coated spoon for the hot chocolate went down a treat with our 7yo
B.Nice service, would of liked to see more wedges if we didnt want the bacon on top to compensate, but thats a tiny did, salmon filo was a little dry. But their coffees were beautiful!
B.Great coffee.We had surprise with chocolate spoon. Its near a beach, so its up to you if you take it out or stay inside.

I.We tried their Seafood Chowder and Mussels in white wine cream sauce and both dishes were great. Very fresh and tasty. Seafood wasn't overcooked, but was cooked just right. Coffee was very good as well. Staff was friendly and promptly and serviced all dishes quite quickly. They have a nice outside area with ocean view and parking just outside. Cannot comment on the other dishes, but if you want to try local fresh seafood then this place is certainly the one you can try.

S.A good, decent kiwi cafe. We stumbled upon this gem after walking the main Kaikoura strip looking for anywhere serving breakfast/lunch and open before 11:00 AM!

L.I had breakfast and lunch here. The place is bright and fresh. I had a seafood chowder for lunch.... Superb and a vegetarian hot breakfast. It was cold and raining so we are inside. The Cafe and gift shop were humming

P.I stopped here for the cafe because the rest of Kaikoura during the winter break seemed closed. Pleasant surroundings with good coffee and a lovely muffin. I can imagine it would be busy during the summer months with lots of tourists. It is slightly out of the Town Centre and seems a lot calmer.
J.10/10 great views, friendly staff, a good brew and a decent feed. Oh and the sun was out!

R.Stopped at Kaikoura for lunch on our drive from Christchurch to Picton, and went to the cafe at the Dolphin & Albatross Encounters place. Wasn't expecting much but the food was excellent, a cut above the ave age cafe. Recommend it.
