The people are friendly ,the cafe is our "go to" in Kaitaia. I love the salads and anything I have tried. I visit often and always have a good experience. The added bonus is the freshly brewed coffee of which one can also buy for your weekly shop . They roast on the premises and the smell is divine.

Although very busy, lovely service from the hardworking front staff, a lovely variety of lunch/brunch items available and quality expresso coffee. Highly recommended. Support local, support Kaitaia!

If you want a top breakfast in Kaitaia, have a sleep in and pop in here to start the day. Well priced and great quality cafe food, with a nice atmosphere. Price Indicator: Eggs Bene - $14.50 Long Black - $3.60 Lastly, the staff are super friendly 😄 and the almond croissants were amazing 🥐

Never had a bad experience there, have, however, not been able to get in. My friend bought an eggs Benedict that they said was really quite OK.

Bought a piece of carrot cake and banana caramel muffin. The muffin was really good but the carrot cake had smell of the food which was in the glass so couldn't really get a good taste out of it I would suggest not putting carrot cake with all other food in the glass display.

I had the Cajun chicken wrap and it was actually quite delicious! It was presented well, it came out open so you could see the contents. Also I had the coconut and caramel slice and that was quitegood to. Pleasantly surprised

The cafe appears to be run by kids on school vacation. They got our coffee order wrong. Then completely forgot another coffee, eventually bringing it in a glass when it had been ordered to go. Coffee wasn't that great

I ordered the Rama-Gee here. It's a local twist of poached eggs, hollandaise avocado and a few extra surprises thrown in. As an entitled middle class Englisman who live in Surrey eating poached eggs and avocado is almost a daily occurrence. So I believe im well placed to pass judgement. This is was the best I have ever eaten. I had to restrain myself from immediately ordering a second portion.

Cape Reinga is more than 100 km north of the nearest small town of Kaitaia Gecko cafe is a great place to stop by and get a coffee obviously rest area Parking available. Will stop by again next time
