Really delicious food! Fried chicken was killer and the banana waffles huge and yummy! Not a long wait for food but we had to kill some time before we got a table- (testament to how good they are!) Definitely coming back

Located in Lower Hutt, a seaside town just outside Wellington. Is a modern Vietnamese fusion cafe with a semi open plan kitchen. It is worth the travel from Wellington city, just for the beautiful plates of food like edible art!

Simple decor with amazing food. I had the Chicken Scotch Egg which was divine, the red cabbage was so refreshing with a hint of sweetness to cut the acidity, the sauce complimented the dish without being overpowering. My partner had the Chicken burger with fries, the chicken was beautifully cooked with a good crunch coating, the sauces were tasty but not too strong as to overpower the other flavors, all in all two fabulous dishes. The drinks we had were a mocha which was quite milky and more like a hot chocolate, the long black was okay but a bit acidic for my taste. Service was good but I thought the waiting staff could have been dressed in a black uniform which to me would have looked more to the style of the Cafe, rather than jeans and tops.

We went to try the Welly on Plate entry for this year, and to be honest we got a bit of a mixed bag. The Chicken dish they had for their entry was a little odd, the Sous Vide chicken was bland and could have done with pan frying a little more to crisp the skin, and the yuzu puree didn't really work for me, to make it worse it was served pretty much cold, and didn't look anything like the picture they originally showed. I would give this dish 2.5 stars, my wife said 3. We also tried the burger they entered which was a slow cooked beef cheek burger with fries, and an egg on top. This was actually really good, the beef was tender and very tasty, all the flavours matched up well, and the sauce/gravy was rich. The only issue with this one is having an egg on top and being quite well stuffed made it a knife and fork burger, but I can forgive it that. The burger was a solid 4.5 stars, really great. I also had a latte, not bad, not sure on the bean choice, but it was well made, I reckon a 3.5 star coffee. As for the place, simple decor, could probably do with some soft furnishings though as it was a bit loud, but nice enough. 3.5 stars. Service was fine although I think they were stuggling with the amount of customers due to the competition 3.5 stars. I would recommend the place, and will be back to try some of the other interesting fusion dishes on the menu, I just hope they serve them hot next time.

Got late in the afternoon and was feeling hungry. So checked into this place. The food was real good and very tasty. I ordered a Bibimbap. Nicely presented. Fresh and very delicious. My Wife had ordered a Truffle Mushroom with Chorizo. Had a bite from that and was blown away. And yes, the Mocha was nice as well! The Banh Mi was apparently so good that had run out of that dish. Has a few other Korean Dishes on the Menu as well. Simple layout, elegant no fuss experience.

Really interesting food, Korean and Thai mixed with brunch classics and some fusion dishes like Thai scotch egg. We had the scotch egg, soba noodle salad and bibimbap and they were all delicious. The flavours worked really well and each dish was balanced perfectly. Great coffee and service too, definitely will come back.

This place does amazing coffee and amazing food. We had the Chicken Scotch Egg and Pork Belly Benedict, both were beautifully presented and their flavours were amazing. Definitely will be coming back!

Great place for small or big groups. They cater for young families as well if you need a high chair. The coffee here is great. Service was nice and the food came out in a timely manner. Plenty of parking around on the street and off street. The store has a small sign so make sure you are looking for it. They have a breakfast and lunch menu, a fusion with Korean and kiwi dishes

Excellently presented meals, and delicious food. Very interesting new age dining. The food at this place resembles well seasoned chefs. Coffee is great due to well experienced baristas.

A quiet shop with white walls on the outside. Who would have known that you open those doors to chaos and deliciousness? It took about 20 mins to get a table but worth the wait. We ordered Lamb mince on toast and BYO breakfast. Fabulous food.. Fantastic experience.. Highly recommended.

Great choices on the menu & I enjoyed a lovely mushroom & chorizo dish. Even though they were busy there were no delays with food & the service was good. Highly recommend.

Delicious meals. Like really amazing. Tried the Daily Boost and the Pork Belly eggs benedict. Eggs were cooked perfectly and both dishes beautifully presented. Slightly heavy on the chutney for my tastes but that's the only down side I could think of. Coffee was fine. Atmosphere is nice and relaxed and service was quick and friendly.

Went there this Friday after Level 2. The food is still quite good and staff is very friendly. The menu is a bit limited and the annotation of dish is simpler. I can understand it might because the lockdown affects the supply of some ingredients. Will come back again and hope the full menu will recover soon.

Great coffee (Rocket), and friendly service. The menu is varied with a couple of veg, vegan and gf options. Beautiful plating and bright open space. We ordered waffles, Bahn Mi, and cassoulet.

Korean Fried Chicken is a must on top of whatever else you're getting. I got a Chicken Scotch Egg and it was delicious.

Solid food and coffee. Service is good and the spot is really well set up. Not a long wait time despite it being relatively busy (visited Sunday morning). Would recommend.

Food was wonderful - every bite was a delicious surprise honestly...and it was worth the trip out. Also the food looked beautiful as you can see in my picture... yum and beautiful. Service was relaxed but polite. Interior is sparse - I thought it would be a bit cozier but it's white and minimalist. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Brunch favourites with a creative Asian twist. Presented with pops of colour. Every bite is an explosion of deliciousness. Very rich flavours. Coffee is great, staff are friendly and always find you a spot even when packed. Always go here when I'm visiting Wellington!

I had the Almost Turkish and it changed my life in ways I couldn't possibly imagine. The hot chocolate was really good too. I recommend this place to anyone that likes amazing food that's not really cliche cafe food.

Absolutely stunning! As a chef I am just in awe at the level of care and talent that is put into even the smallest details on every dish. I would be immensely proud to serve food at this standard and as a customer I was incredibly satisfied. Understandably these guys get incredibly busy at peak times, we came for brunch during the week and we were fed and left with an amazing looking donut from the counter in under half an hour for an exceptionally good price of around $55. That was for 2 meals, 2 drinks and the donut which not only looked amazing but also tastes fantastic. Really impressed guys will surely be returning. You won't find a better meal in the Wellington area for the price they are asking.

By far the most scrumptious lunch and brunch in Petone. Top quality ingredients made to perfection!

Arrived at C&G on time & we had booked however our table wasn’t ready so asked to wait which was fine. There was still people (7) at the table with all the dishes, staff asked them for the table & we eventually sat down 5-10mins late BUT to then be told we only had 1 hour (less now seen the table wasn’t ready). We made the booking in advance and WERE’NT told it was only going to be an hour. Felt like we had to order and eat in a hurry which we then got a 10min warning. The atmosphere wasn’t nice & relaxing for a brunch, loud, banging & staff running/stomping around. Real shame, food was great.

Not only is the food a work of art, it tastes delicious as well. The staff here are always lovely and the prices are worth the drive out!

The coffees always great! They use Rocket coffee from Hamilton, which in my opinion is one of New Zealands finest roasters. Food is also good although sometimes is a bit to sweet for my liking. But that's more or personal thing as I don't really have a sweet tooth.

The good: good food, interesting and varied menu and good service. The bad: the coffee was adequate at best, tepid and a bit burned. My burger came on an oddly sized plate, too small for what I was given. The ugly: not too fond of the "minimalist" space. Looks more like a white canvas in dire need of some sort of decoration. That being said I'd still recommend the place.

I had the waffles (again) at comes and goes for lunch and they were just as delicious as the first time I had them. Very well presented food, good service and reasonably priced.

AMAZING food and good value! We were blown away by our meals and can't stop talking about them. I had the banana waffles and my fiance had the scotched egg. Coffee was also fab, we will 100% be back!

Great international menu. A little pricey for what these meals would cost in their respective countries however the setting and friendly staff make it worth the experience.

Great food but not many gluten free options

The decaf long black coffee with hot milk was the best. ☺️ I had to close my eyes to savour the flavour! Gluten and dairy free food available. Food presentation was so artistic. There was even food with pink candy floss 🤩. It's is a nice place to have meetings as there isn't that overpowering music which you have to shout over.

This place has gone downhill since I was last there. Its still good but... Chai is now from that sickly sweet syrup that almost every cafe seems to use nowadays instead of their own spice mix. Food is still nicely presented but no longer the "cut above" it used to be. Hard to believe I gave this cafe 5 stars a year or so ago. Enjoyable but I wouldn't go out of my way.

I really enjoy the fusion menu and their inclusive options on their menu. I understand that the food is meant to look pretty, but unfortunately it often comes in place instead of portion sizing. The food and coffee are great, don't come here if you're after a large meal.

Recently moved to Lower Hutt from the Gold Coast and I have been missing good quality breakfasts. Comes & Goes is the best cafe I have found so far! I have tried the mushrooms and the waffles, both excellent. Looking forward to going back and trying the almost Turkish. We did have to wait 25 minutes for a table but once we were seated our drinks and meals came quickly. The presentation and quality of the food is the best I've found both in Wellington and the Hutt.

This is one of my fav brunch locations, great food, so well presented and tasty. Service can be slow when they are busy but the staff are generally nice. If you’re wanting standard brunch food this isn’t your place, but if you have dietary requirements or are after something a little different then you’ll love it.

Beautiful place with a cozy atmosphere. Delicious food well presented. Staff also friendly. Making a reservation in advance will be convenient. Ad the place is a bit busy, no reservation can result in waiting for a table.

First experience here.Really nice and clean and warm on a cold wellington winters day. Staff were a little over the show and didn't have a understanding of what you could and couldn't change on menu or add to certain meals. we arrived at 1.45pm and they informed us that 4 things were sold out on the menu and we wouldn't be able to order these. Overall the food we did order was really yummy and the presentation was amazing!! I returned the next day with my sister for a quick afternoon snack at 3.10pm and was told the kitchen was closed even though they were still open for another 50 minutes what was a bit of a downer.

Amazing looking dishes that are equally as tasty. This cafe can sometimes feel cramped as servers are squeezing past you often going back and forth to the kitchen. Often a wait to get a table and they sell out of the pork belly often. If cafe was bigger or less tables and always had everything on the menu would be a 5.

Exceptional food - we came in for a tasty brunch and we were served dishes that blew our expectations out of the water. The other reviews are NOT exaggerating when they rave about the top-end restaurant level food served here. A true delight - and very reasonably priced for the quality. Also serves lovely coffee.

Wow - amazing food! We dropped in for a quick lunch, ordered two coffees, soba noodle salad with chicken (pictured) and banh mi pork roll. Generous servings, food was delicious made with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. Meal was reasonably priced at $45 and service was good too. Will definitely be coming back here. I wish there were more eateries like this in Wellington.

A wonderful dining experience, with stunning plates and great coffee. I thought the service was a little bit on the cool side - not a lot of warmth and fuss. Delicious flavours, and impeccable presentation! Funky decor, reasonably easy to find parking off the side streets.

Absolutely amazing! The food is so delicious and beautifully presented! It's clear that the cooks really take great pride in the meals they create! The servers were also very polite and friendly :) we travelled out from town to try this place and it was well worth the trip! I'm sure we will be back again

A fair place with a couple of Korean dishes, not cheap or rich in taste but combined with Cafe it is definitely a place you could go for one of the finest dine-in and after-meal coffee.

I was looking forward to return to Comes and Goes after a few months break, as I had some of the best vegan breakfasts here, but was disappointed as the waiter didn't really know the contents of the menu and had to ask the kitchen if they can make dishes vegan that had "be"sign next to them. We also asked if they can replace tofu to mushroom or anything else and was told no :( We felt we were an inconvenience by asking for vegan versions :( Was there a chance of ownership/ chef or something else beetwen April and Oct 2018??

The walls are a bit to white. I won’t be having the waffle again.

Although we ordered simple dishes, everything was done perfectly: Fries- had very clean taste and was crisp even when cold (indicating that oil wasnt overused and that it was exactly at the right temperature) Fried rice noodles was well balanced with the seasoning and raw veggie side. AMAZING.... will come again Thanks to the A Team behind the scenes👌

Awesome Cafe. Quite unsuspecting to find a place like this in Petone. Great coffee, from rocket coffee in Hamilton, also served by the Candy shop in Auckland. Food was amazing, presentation is on point. Definitely worth a try if you are out this way. Their pork belly was especially good, moist and juicy.

This cafe will change your idea of a normal cafe food. The coffee is amazing as well. I've been to quite a lot coffee shops in town and Petone. This is the best one so far. Food is good value for money. Supper clean and tidy. I tried Soba and almost turkish so far. Both are awesome. Highly recommended.

Ordered "the daily" perfect if you feel like a healthy brekkie and so gorgeous you don't want to eat it! Highly recommend, all the dishes were art on a plate.

Food was yum! Service was good too, kept the water well topped up which is much appreciated. It was a little cold in there but it has been freezing outside and we were right next to a window! Overall very happy with the experience, the banh mi was very tasty

Popular eatery in Petones main street. Got taken along by my trendy teen & her mates during a break in their football tournament. More of a full luncheon spot than a snack cafe, I had the waffles with fruit etc. $20 odd which wasn't cheap but a nice meal. The girls shared/loved it - would I go again, probably not.

You get your money's worth. I'm tired of paying $20 for eggs on toast and basic cafe food. This place sets the bar high, hopefully other cafes soon follow.

I love this place and have been coming here for brunch every time I'm in the area for work, slowly working my way through the menu. I have to say absolutely everything is yummy and akways a feast for the eyes too, so beautifully and artistically presented.

We both ordered the Pork Belly Benedict which was a generous portion and reasonably priced at $19, however the pork was quite dry and the eggs were hard (which we later found out were purposely cooked that way) the raw apple slices, we thought, didn't really go, table service was good and the coffee was too. When it came to settling our bill, the staff behind the counter didn't even make eye contact or utter a word which was slightly disappointing. All in all food was ok and I'd probably give it another go.

Nice staff, funky feel to the place. Got the WOAP burger.... It could have been awesome but too many onions and the meat was a bit undercooked. I'll go back again to try something else on the menu.

Four of us went for brekkie. I had the ugly bagel which was very nice tasty. There is a great selection of food ..sort of Asian fusion. And tea is served in a pot!

Amazing looking and Tasty Food, well priced. Can't book and often too full to sit down right away, if going in weekend recommend putting name down, then going for a stroll/coffee down the road a bit, the wait is worth it, coming from someone who never does queues.

Currently the newest, freshest and best café in Petone, Lower Hutt, and perhaps all of Wellington. The food here is unique and tasty, and also beautiful enough that you'll wonder whether you should be tucking into it (you should!). Do believe the hype. Do make the trip!

The presentation is amazing, the food tastes good (edable flowers). There's usually a wait here, pretty crowded all the time. The bronut (donut) is fantastic.

The food was worth the long wait - of was fabulous. A tricky place for kids - a shame there were no toys or distractions for my friend's young ones. Definitely a place for adults.

Comes & Goes is different to other cafés in Petone that tend to be more retro. Comes And Goes has a hipster, San Francisco feel about it. Coffee and food good. The decorations are very sparse, which may be intentional, but did feel a bit like renovations are still in progress.

Very tasty dinner and great service. We had beef short rib, crispy tofu and some bao. All excellent.

Not only that all the food is highly instagrammable (if you're into that kind of stuff), it's also very delicious. All the flavours are there and worth every penny.

For lunch, sharing the chicken soba and the waffles was a delicious treat. Flavour balance in both dishes were on point.
