V.Perfect stop while in or passing through Ngaruawahia. Tasty selection. Highly recommend the bao buns and custard squares which we got to go and then enjoyed picnic style down at The Point overlooking the river. Will definitely be back to enjoy an in-house meal.
G.Tasty, fresh & large size meals fascinated us a lot! Outdoor wide views with rose color trees released people from daily grinds.
T.Ngaruawahia’s first true cafe! They use Supreme coffee here - the coffee we ordered was strong but palatable. The NGA big breakfast is HUGE - so full of protein that you won’t need to eat again until tomorrow. It has a more homely comfort food feel than gourmet, and the pork belly and thick cut bacon could well be homekill pork. It would be a great breakfast before a big day’s work. Fresh atmosphere with lots of light, and helpful staff too
C.I would recommend this place for a visit, particularly if you are doing the Te Awa trail on your bike. Nice outside seats on the street side, and bike rack available.
Staff good, and menu pretty good also.
Note for vegans. There are some vegan options on the menu (good), and I specifically asked for the vegan breakfast. Ended up having eggs, halloumi, and butter on my plate! Not good. I'm sure it was just an error but they must take care with peoples dietary requirements.
T.Rich, tasty and delicious. I ordered a almond milk hot choc, lemon coconut slice and a chicken wrap. The food was well worth the money. It was quite filling and the cafe offered a variety of options, salads, wraps, slices, burgers and healthy alternatives. The contemporary cafe did have a few people there today and is a lovely contrast to all the bakeries located nearby. They have a little creche area and high chairs available for infants.

G.Very nice tasty food from the cabinet. Very nicely done. The portions from the cabinet are on the smaller side and the prices are on the higher side, But it was nice to have a place that had a good selection of smaller portions (most places only serve big portions) there were a few of those on offer as well, grilled chicken and chips etc. Counter service was reasonably friendly, not the fastest. The coffee was drinkable but not the best. The atmosphere is very nice.

L.OMG! I have have a big breakfast at other cafes but Nothing compares to Breaking Breads brekky. The best I have had, pricy but when you see what you get you understand. Not for the faint hearted but for the massively hungry. This is what you order after a hike up the Huks. Wow. 🤩🤩🤩

G.A really lovely find. Modern and fresh place with lovely food and great coffee. Town is quaint but tired with typically run down options so this was fantastic and right on the main road yet it was quiet and they've created a nice ambiance. Food very well presented with a lot of good options.

A.I spent many hours here while my car was at the mechanic. It’s lovely! The staff are cheerful, great coffee, and food was fresh and delicious. I especially appreciated a lot of outlets and comfortable spots to use a laptop/wifi. I felt welcome and cozy to stay as long as I needed.

S.This is what Ngaruawahia has been waiting for. The best place for great delicious food and the best coffee in town! A must have is the big breakfast. My partner said it is the best 'big breakfast ' meal hes had at any cafe. Honestly every time we eat here or grab a coffee on the go it is 100% spot on. The locals are very lucky to have Breaking Bread at our doorstep. Thanks heaps team !!

S.A little surprise discovery while walking back from the Saturday main street market. Very new, but looking like they are right on track. Food all looked delicious, coffee was very good and the staff, tho clearly a bit green, were pleasant and eager. Will be back soon.
a.My grand son loved the play area. My dine in coffee was in a takeaway cup but came delivered on saucer with a spoon. And the food top notch. Best of all the service by the nice staff.
K.Came here after doing the Hakarimana Trail and was pleasantly surprised. Everyone's meals were a great portion (chicken burger, pork belly burger and big breakfast)
I had the pork belly burger and it was delicious! The pork was perfect, it wasn't dry, it melted in your mouth and there was a lot of it!
Had an iced coffee as well, it was ok, needed some substinance like ice cream or something, was just a bit watery
They did forget my drink at first as well but got one out to me promptly when I told them
