Just popped in for a quick lunch so ordered counter food. Chicken filo was delicious and lasagne was amazing, side of small fries was huge! Beautiful crispy fresh salad with each dish made it perfect, quick friendly service, terrific, thanks.

Lovely busy cafe on a Saturday am. Clear signs of Level 2 outside & inside as well as staff smiling to request all customers to register on their Covid19 app. Bright, Sharp & clear paintings around the cafe. Quick orders after browsing the brunch menu. Food served about 15min later. Succulent juicy beef cubes, browned white mushrooms, grill chicken breasts, black olives, crunchy bread sticks. Good coffee & ice blend mocha came with a scoop of ice cream. Good ambience despite the busy social distancing crowd. Ample paying street parking

This is a great spot with options to sit outside or inside. The staff is very hpful and the menu is varied and very tasty. I had the breakfast and it was a great start to a Sunday. This is a great place to socialize with friends and family or grab a nice bite by yourself. The staff are extremely competent, friendly and the food comes out quickly and is well prepared. Highly recommended if you are dowtown Palmy!

As usual the food and service lived up to their fantastic reputation. Confitt duck and pork & sage meatballs , roasted potatoes were divine. The chef catered for special orders. The desserts were above and beyond. Amazing size portions. The lemon cake was divine, carrot cake and sticky date delicious as usual. The atmosphere and staff service made it a lovely evening.

I happened to be at Barista for a cuppa occasionally and every single time I have an exceptional service and delicious Afogatto no matter who is serving. Last time I got spoiled rotten as they had an out of this world quality Florentine. I know as I was selling them in a German deli. This Florentine tasted even better like a home made one. Keep it up, team. You are awesome.

10:10 Perfect Cappuccino. Perfect temperature, texture and taste. Had extra large Cappuccino in a bowl - Awesome. If you enjoy great coffee - this is the best in Palmy - Highly Recommend.

Brunch menu looks better than lunch menu ! Have a good atmosphere and wide seating area. Large portions. Food took a while but good service.

Popped in for dinner on a whim, and they were very accommodating. The meals were amazing, the desserts fabulous, but the lovely, friendly wait staff really capped the meal off.

I love Barista! It's the perfect spot for any sort of gathering. Great for lunch, coffee or as a proper dinner. They have an awesome menu selection as well as tasty cabinet items. Really good portions and well priced. It has a nice relaxed vibe and is great for any sort of get together.

Great place, excellent service, delicious food, went here in the evening for dessert, I had the sticky date pudding with vanilla bean ice cream and cream my partner had the creme bru'lee with rhubarb and a sorbet, very tasty.

I like how barista is open so late. I quite like the food. Im also impressed by the pricing of the hot drinks and the large tea selection, which is fun. Something I didn't take a photo of but people never seem to mention is the wall paintings are actually seriously beautiful, they depict a whole heap of characters from fairy tales interacting in different ways. Something you have to come check out.

Waitress was very nice, the chicken linguine was delicious, restaurant very clean, staff helpful. Good range of drinks to choose from too. Highly recommend

Whenever someone asks me where to get good Coffee in Palmerston North I tell them to come here, hands down the best coffee in town especially if Damian is working - king of coffee! Food and service is always top notch too - their baked cheesecake and fries are my go to.

Barista use to be a nice place to regularly dine. Beef salad over cooked. Scotch "fillet" was half gristle and fat - served with sauce that covered it completely on top when the plate was delivered to the table. Turned over showed how low grade the meat was. Very polite and friendly service team.

Delicious food, friendly staff. Super quick service (on a crowded new years day at that) and an awesome atmosphere with the amazing art work adorning the walls. Our fave café to visit whenever we come to Palmie! Inside and outside seating and clean toilet facilities, with some more cool wallpaper to lead the way.

Antipasto platter at $42 and more than adequate for two was superb. First time visiting during the day and like it’s evening hospitality it is par excellence and in the busyness of Christmas it was a welcome nourishing respite to fortify us for the remainder of our shopping mission without feeling we had soaked up an oil slick. We came here to do dessert for my friends birthday last week and we couldn't have asked for a better night! The food was delish and the staff were especially amazing and went out of their way to make her night special! Totally reccomend!

One of my regulars, good coffee, fries and cabinet food are nice, highly recommend the antipasto platter. Very friendly staff who were so kind to my grandmother! The only downside is that it isn't easy to fit a pram, but you can't expect everywhere to have the ability for that.

The enchilada that I had was tasty and cooked well, however, I was left unfulfilled by the lack of density. It looks like a large thing to eat, but inside was 50% empty space. I expected to be somewhat full after eating, but I'm left still hungry. Aside from this, I enjoy coming here and the service is great.

We love Barista and all the staff here, I am a regular and wouldn’t have it any other way. The guys behind the counter are absolute stars which just makes the whole experience even better. Whether you’re going in for a coffee (always 11/10) or some delicious food, you won’t be disappointed. Have, for years, had a consistent and fantastic experience at Barista.

Went with a friend for breakfast, service was good and food came quickly, although the coffees were a little slow. Food was good nothing extremely special, I ordered the french toast with salted caramel, bacon and maple syrup, and my friend got the eggs benedict with added hash browns and mushrooms. The french toast was far too sweet but I still managed to enjoy it. Overall a good meal, probably wouldn’t come back for breakfast but would be keen to try the lunch menu!

Barista is great cafe and restaurant. Price wise, its on par if not cheaper than restaurants of similar quality. Staff are attentive and friendly. The place also has uniqueness and soul offering something different from the same old same old. Best time is Saturday nights when the owners sing lounge music and paint the mural.

Had a family brunch here and more since. A very generous chef!! The big breakfast was BIG and bl**dy good!!! Kids 5yrs and 7yrs were both well looked after and gobbled up their pancakes. Cabinet food is way too tempting and just as well I was totally full or I would have tried all the cakes in there with their coffee. Definitely a favourite brunch lunch spot in Palmy will continue to go there any chance we get.

Generally very good coffee and also have nice 'bikkies' to have with your coffee. Dinners are very good with good variety of foods and are correctly cooked. Staff are get friendly and management are all friendly. Great progressing artwork is on the large wall and I love it - amazing detail of many differing book characters. When live entertainment is provided this is very good. Have not tried one of their English afternoon tea functions but these are often packed with people and are enjoyable. Great place for a glass of wine or a beer.

Ambience good. Service friendly. Superb food, reasonably priced, I lunched there today. Had potato and leek soup to die for! Up from Wellington with family. Everyone else's meals looked fab too. 5 stars!

Very delicious food, lovely ambience. It's not the cheapest but it's worth the price you pay. A main and 2 (non alcoholic) drinks cost Mr 33 dollars. I think that was expensive. All six of us loved our food.

We are visiting the town from Melbourne so this restaurant was plucked out because it looked busy. My wife had Salt & Pepper Prawns as mains while I had the Duck. The prawns were plentiful, well cooked and well presented. The duck was amazing. Crispy on the outside while still plenty of moisture inside. Combining it with black pudding & cranberry pieces plus pear slices was genius. Probably the best meal we've had in NZ.

Restaurant has a really nice ambience and the food was great! I ordered the BBQ chicken linguine which was delicious! It was Advertised as a light meal but I struggled to finish it as the serving was rather large. I'm pretty sure it was the same size (if not bigger) than my husbands "main" meal! My husband ordered the confit duck which was cooked to absolute perfection! You could tell this cut of meat had been well respected and love put in to it. It just melted in your mouth. We ordered a couple of drinks off menu, which I expected to be exorbitant because they're off the menu) but was thoroughly surprised at how reasonable they were. I ordered a couple of organic ciders (the only type of cider they stock). The cider was at least 500ml(if not more) from memory and was $9. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, but a few small criticisms. Our server was very nice and friendly, but maybe too attentive? I could barely sip my water before it was what seemed instantly refilled. Service is important, but it was awkward having some walk in mid convo. We were seated between two other tables with larger groups which made it difficult to hear. The restaurant wasn't busy and had about six tables seated, but all on one side rather than being spread out. All in all was a good time with lovely food, my criticisms are only small and constructive. Would 10/10 eat here again.

Service was of a very good standard, coffee likewise was very good. The food cabinets were stocked with a variety of offerings, that were tempting. The cafe was busy with a good number of patrons. I found it a little noisy.

Amazing food The staff member Damian was quick, polite and friendly. When he dropped off our order he made polite chat and a joke. Worth coming back here to be served by him again.

It's a good cafe but I don't recommend it for those with young children as the staff seem to frown upon this perceived inconvenience. I'd recommend finding a more inclusive cafe.

The best and busiest cafe in Palmerston north, the busy staff are always concentrating on what happens next, you can see this on there faces, and then when they smile well like the food it is so worth waiting for, the coffee is well extracted the milk so smooth. Well done Barista.

Had lamb shank and scotch fillet. Good value food for the high quality and great service. Wine was also delicious. White chocolate and passionfruit baked cheesecake from the cabinet also fantastic.

Busy place , really nice food. Interesting mural.... What I noted was, .. they kept the music LOW... This was great, as it was a full house, and the noise levels from the tables were quiet, no competing to be heard over the music.

A fantastic place to eat, great atmosphere and movie themed wall art that will entertain you for a while. Well presented food with very well thought out combination of flavors, price is a little on the high side although priced appropriately for the overall quality and service.
