I have been coming here for years and I have never been let down. The atmosphere, the vibe, the music, the amazing friendly staff. This is the ultimate recipe for the perfect sneaky lunch. I came in here today for a bit of their amazing lasagne and a side salad but in all honesty the side salad really made it wondrous. The dressing tasted exactly like my childhood summers and took me right back to the way salad dressing used to be made. I appreciate the lunch and the beautiful coffee but I really appreciate the walk down memory lane today. Keep it up team, you might never know how much I appreciate every little bit of it.

Always go for a great plate of lambs fry and bacon or an open top steak sandwich. Great lively vibe in there and reasonable prices for the portion sizes. One of the cafes in the street that open the earliest in town so great for an early morning pick me up!

Went to Cafe Jacko for Father's Day, just as well I booked a table they were packed and I know why. The food, coffee, the service, the atmosphere, friendly staff were FAULTLESS!! 5 stars the whole way. There were 6 of us we ordered 5 different meals, coffees and milkshakes and they were all devine! Palmy is full of amazing eating places, but this will be our new Go To now, if we can get in. I'll be back during a work day sometime soon because the cabinet food looked so yummy, scones, cakes muffins etc. Hmmmm

Great service with very friendly staff, two of us both had milkshakes which were amazing, the banana and vanilla. Vanilla was very authentic vanilla bean tasting, and the marmite and cheese scone was fantastic also. Highly recommend.

I have never been to cafe Jacko but I have tasted his food in the childrens ward of the hospital. Each week a fresh batch of scones or similar turns up for the parents of children in hospital. Thank you Jacko for your kindness it is appreciated by far more people than you’ll ever know.

Great service pretty good food except the steak sandwich was all fat the last two times I tried it. I don’t order it anymore. Fish of the day is best when it’s Terakihi but mostly it’s gemfish. Mince great Eggs are great Pancakes great. If you fix the terrible fatty ribeye steak sandwich to the quality it used to be I’d be happy to have it again as the salad mix and onion jam and sourdough are bang on. Inferior meat ruins it.

Food 10+10 I ordered the mince on toast with poached egg. I feel if a cafe can do such a great job on something so simple then they're worth a top score. These guys were great and so friendly. the clients were many and I can see why. its fathers day every client was treated with the same courtesy. What a welcome!!! The staff were so incredibly welcoming and friendly which made the environment very pleasant and lively one for brekkie. Which was absolutely delicious! I had the smoked salmon with cream cheese, avo, microgreens on a toasted bagel and they were even happy enough to switch out the capers for their delicious dukkah! The proportions were perfect; presentation flawless and; bagel was toasted to perfection. Will definitely be making a return trip to this little place of sunshine! High recommend. I would highly reccomend "the Kai" which is their full breakfast, truly and surely an awesome feed with good variety and descent portions. If you’re looking for an easy feed this is the place. Basic but quality food, well made and really generous portions all for a reasonable price. Polished concrete floors, wooden chairs, rustic decor, fair trade coffee and an efficacious use of the colour yellow make mornings at Cafe Jacko a truely delightful experience. Located in the heart of George St Jacko's is truely an indispensable member of Palmerston Norths cafe scene. Offering a wide selection of food and beverage, the salad cabinet is worth special mention where the health conscious patron may purchase a cardboard takeout box (chinese style - love those!) in one of two sizes filled with a selection of their delicious salads - try the roast vegetable (it's famous). As afore mentioned, the coffee at Jacko's is fair trade, meaning the farmers growing the beans get a fair price for their product and are not exploited like other brands, this provides a truely guilt free experience for the socially conscious consumer. Jacko's coffee is consistently some of the best in town and modestly priced at $3.50 for a long black and if one uses their loyalty card price is reduced to an average of $3.11 a cup with every 9th coffee purchase free making Jacko's coffee one of the most affordable on George. Seating arrangement is good, not too crowded with ample room outside if, like myself, you prefer to enjoy your coffee in the sun. Of note are the friendly professional staff which add to the already vibrant homely atmosphere. I really, really enjoy Cafe Jacko and have no doubt you will too. Five Stars.
