A.Excellent quality food served in a friendly, welcoming setting, with environmentally-sound practices (no throwaway utensils or cups). Superb!
I’d love the opening hours to be 12pm-8pm (instead of 8am-4pm) - this would make it much easier to reach on a Tauranga-Wellington or Auckland-Wellington trip. Would it be useful to count the visitors to the EV charging facilities and find out when they are most in use? I may be wrong; the morning may be the peak? :)
K.Loved popping in here for lunch with a mate! Spoilt for choice with full menu and cabinet food, great coffee, excellent service.
We had the Reuben sandwich and the smoked brisket hash. Amazing sauerkraut in the Reuben made my the team. Great vege options too. Check out the wall of preserves that they use in their kitchen!

J.Good selection of brunch and lunch items plus good coffee until 2pm. Plenty of room inside as well as outdoor dining. The breakfast beans are tasty! Could do with an ‘Open’ banner on the roadside. Take the time to check out the township.
A.We had the pancakes. Magnificent. The best breakfast ever on the road Auckland to Wellington. And in Mangaweka!. I strongly suggest you stop there. Great hosts. Best food. Very clean.
S.Great cafe. Very clean and tidy. Friendly service. Good coffee. We ordered a big breakfast which comes with black pudding and bbq chili beans. It's yummy! Lovely atmosphere and good food. It's a good stop while traveling around this area.

D.Revamped since Nov 19 - and worthy of their current 5 stars. Pretty good coffee, considering our barista today is a self-professed newbie (well done mate!) I had two! Really friendly staff and the food met the taste expectations and freshness - it was as good as it looked. Will be back on my way south - is gonna be my new favourite stop - and once that texture gets right through the latte, its gonna be a 5-star rating. Thanks guys!! ❤️
S.Amazing burgers and all round tasty homemade cafe staples , but the most stand out is that they are Sauce Masters. 5 star good friendly front of house service too.
O.Really really yum food. My partner has intense dietary requirements (gluten free, dairy free, nut free, egg free.... etc) and they were great at accommodating. My lasagne, fries and mocha were spot on.
I haven't stopped here before but with the kids crying in the car, we needed a place to quickly pull into while it was raining. Will be a regular stop from now on.

H.Visited The Dukes on the main highway at Mangaweke for lunch. A nice variety of cabinet options for lunch, the Ham Crossiant was filled with delicious thickly sliced ham. The cheese and pineapple toasty looked lovely, perfectly cooked with plenty of filling. A definite recommendation when heading that way.
M.These guys are putting awesome care into their food, with quality ingredients and a sound menu. Kids devoured their pancakes. A worthwhile stop on the trip North - South.
R.Dukes has recently been renovated. Food is lovely, fresh and tasty home baking. Modern interior, perfect for a break on the way to the lake. Cool music, great interior.
D.Very good food. Husband had Lamb & Kumera pie. He's a pie expert and gave it a 9 out if 10.
I had a Kumera, olive, feta and caramelized onion hash. Loved it!
S.Nothing for diabetics but sugar free cola or coffee. But good glass-case choices if you can eat bread, pasta and sweet stuff. The cooked menu looks good. I know they can adjust ingredients to meet special requirements.
When I went in, the (pleasant and polite) staff weren't wearing masks, so enter at your own risk if you're trying to avoid Covid.

C.A buzzy cafe and friendly pitstop on SH1, just south of Taihape. Good, strong Havana coffee and scrummy counter food (I highly recommend the Afghan cookies). Menu items look tasty too, will definitely be back for more!

Fantastic place to stop for excellent food and coffee. Home made pies with rich pastry tops are to die for.Also try the cheese scones charred on the grill. Delicious.
Lovely welcoming atmosphere.
T.Decent coffee. Hot chocolate was so-so. Ruben had great potential but wasn't executed well - one of those trendy piles of food stuck together with a stick and a bit too much fat on the brisket. But get it anyway because it was quite tasty! Chips were hot but a bit limp and floury. Lovely bunch of staff.
T.Just enjoyed a lovely lunch, served by friendly staff and lovely surroundings. Definitely worth a stop if your passing by

D.Great place to stop for refreshments on our way to Taupo. So accommodating, helpful and friendly. Coffee and snacks good too. Had stopped at Hunterville but the usual cafe was closed and Dukes Roadhouse turned out to be even better so that was a bonus for us. Very clean and excellent disabled toilet as well especially when traveling with a 103 year old!

A.Unique style, great food and lovely people. Have to add, immaculate restroom outside and it's right next to an electric vehicle charging stop, a perfect time to enjoy a delicious snack and hot beverage

They are a young family who live in the area. They deserve recognition for their passion to serve great food in a comfortable, nurturing environment! Well done.

F.We stopped to use the public toilet next door & then decided to grab a coffee. What a great spot, beautiful food & coffee & a gorgeous little play corner for little people. Highly recommend! And they don’t use takeaway cups, awesome!
T.Both me and my partner had the smoked brisket hash. Was amazing, and the coffee is done very well. Plenty of space for a pram and a kids area with toys. There is also outdoor tables and space for pets to have a drink of water from a bowl. Will definitely be coming back.

M.A hidden gem. So lovely to have somewhere to stop when on route south or north. Newly refurbished, excellent food and bubbly friendly staff. Most highly recommended. Clients were there making it a destination stop too. That says it all!
K.Stopped by on my way to Rotorua. Friendly staff. Had a Rueben Sandwich made with their version on corned beef. A bit more smoky flavor than regular corned beef but it was amazing. It was so tender and full of flavor. Everything else looked delicious. I also took a plum, date custard muffin for the road. Try it you’ll really like it.
T.Beautiful breakfast - plenty of homemade stuff not bought in. A couple of issues which were soon sorted out by the kitchen. The way people deal with a problem is key. Good work here boys. We will be back.

s.On a cold winter morning settling down by the fire to a hearty breakfast was just what we needed. Dukes do excellent quality locally sourced products with proper Wellington coffee. Dukes is child friendly, relaxed and has an ev fast charger out front.
