We grabbed a seat at the high tables next to the kitchen for breakfast - definitely try to sit there as there is a great view of the chefs at work. We had a friendly chat with Nigel in the kitchen as he pumped out breakfasts despite being busy on a Friday morning. I changed my order to the Pearl You Complete Me after seeing other lamb cutlets on the grill. Best breakfast I’ve had in ages.

Myself & 5 other family members had lunch on Sunday 9-01-22. Everyone commented on the high standard & quality of the food & the service. I personally had waffles with bacon, bananas, & double Maple syrup with 2 cans of beer. It must have been the best that I have ever had. I cannot recommend this restaurant too highly & we will be back in the near future. 5 star plus.

We’ve heard good things about this cafe but a little disappointed as there weren’t much gf options for celiacs. We went with the mini meals and they were surprisingly filling for us as a snack in between breakfast and lunch. Coffee was good and service was alright

Came out to meet some friends. Lucky to get some nice outdoor seating with space for the kids to potter around. Food was very nice. Service was generally attentive. Coffee was good. Would definitely return.

Ordered a LARGE flat white for me and a coffee for my wife. Much to my amazement when the coffee arrived there was no LARGE flat white.. Just two cups of coffee. The waitress explained much embarrassed that this was the only size. Hmm well....... Very disappointing. Talked with friends locally who were amazed. Wont be back......Nor will they.....

If you want a place that has original ideas and food that is creative, exploding with flavour....then this is the place for you. I've had a lot of the items on the breakfast menu and cannot fault any of them... My only criticism is that I would love a bigger portion because it's sooooo tasty!!! Everything is fresh and the chefs always present their food beautifully. The coffee is always good no matter the barista. The staff are so lovely and welcoming. Plenty of space to move and more than enough seating choices. They are my fave cafe in papamoa

Aesthetically pleasing space, with options of different spaces for seating - if you're someone who loves choice! My highlight was the amazing bread they served with my fish of the day, with slaw on the side. Great choice of cabinet treats also. Lots of choice in all aspects. Parking is very easy. Would go there again more than once.

On the face of it this place should be getting a five. But it’s missing a few essential elements in both Food safety, coffee and info. Nice friendly staff and prompt service that no trim milk and no trim coffee - When I asked why they had no treadmill they said they had expanding the menu To include non-milks

Need coffee? Pop down to the Pearl Kitchen near the beach at Papamoa. The café has great decor and a nice collection of outdoor spaces where you can enjoy the pacific Tauranga climate while you enjoy a superb latte and chat to the locals. We met a charming little Swedish Vallhund named Pete out on the patio! Try their poached eggs on toast, a carrot cake friand or a blueberry muffin, all of which will set you up for a hectic day of beach action or shopping, or relaxing...whatever you have planned. Afterwards, go for a walk on wild and stunning Papamoa Beach.

We had Pearl you complete me and Waffles for breakfast. It was fantastic ! This place is sunny and fresh atmosphere to start day up. Homemade bacon was crunch juicy and very flavoury, tomato sauce on Pearl you complete me was soft n rich! Also the fried something potato was awesome. And i can say this Waffles was Perfect ! Whip cream has cinnamon flavor which was soooo goooood and banana n syrup was not too sweet but so yum. This was very good memory. I strongly recommend this place to have brunch. Coffee was so flavoury too

Kind staffs, tasty menus. Good location to park. Almond chai latte wasn't mine even I love chai latte. The problem was waiting time for food. Even after we drank all the tea and coffee...the food didn't came. But the food taste made me think it's worth it to wait =) I would try other food next time. Also there are many people so it can be a bit noisy inside.

Busy wee place. Obviously the word is out about this venue and extension has happened! Staff are amazingly helpful & cheerful. They also have patience for elderly customers too (not me, my elderly aunt). Prepared to divide the bill when multiples in the group. I had the Waffles! Best waffles I've ever had. These waffles were delicately crisp, served with banana, maple syrup, cream; & bacon by choice.

What a find. Best brunch in Mt Maunganui/ Papamoa Beach. Very mixed crowd cool vibe Gets very busy but wait, the tables typically turn over pretty fast. Small but almost perfect menu . They are also Licenced so u can have a cheeky glass of bubbles at brunch .

Firstly, the service was amazing - friendly and speedy, despite the fact that we'd unknowingly showed up toward closing time. The food is absolutely top notch also - the best we've found in Tauranga! Prices were very reasonable also. Top marks for sure - definitely coming back here when we're in town again!

A regular at Pearl and never once been disappointed. The quality of the coffee and food is only surpassed by the consistently outstanding staff. I had no less then 5 staff members say hi or wish me a good day recently. The bacon is next level. You don't need big plates and massive cups to be fully satisfied at this fantastic new addition to the Coast suburb.

Cakes were absolutely fab ... coffee was the bomb ... and the staff were uber friendly. If you're anywhere near the mount or papamoa, plug their address into your GPS- it's definitely worth the trip. Also coffee is organic and plenty of gluten free options for the gluten intolerant ...yayy!

Great service in nice venue. Lovely pot of real tea & good coffee. But the house made bacon was a truly weird flavour, our table couldn't eat it. I had the crispy squid for lunch. It was perfect! Taste and texture was spot on, serving size was really good. Could have done with more lemon. Loved the chili sauce, and the white sauce on the bowl was amazing. Only down side to experience was the glass that smelled of raw egg.

Pearl kitchen is a lovely establishment with great service. I was served by front of house manager sam. He explained everything extremely well and I personally have never had such great service at any other cafe. Will definitely be coming back soon!

My friend and I visit Pearl every Friday morning. Location is great, awesome food and staff get to know you. Highlight being that you can sit by the kitchen, see and hear what's going on. I love the bacon. It is home smoked by the owner/chef Andrew and from my perspective iit is one of the signature items on the menu. We have had healthy discussion about some of the inconsistencies of slice size, but I think we have come to the conclusion that it is part of the experience.and won'''t necessarily be the same size every time, except for the awesome taste. It is clear that Andrew operates this kitchen from passion and he and his team take personal pride in making the food from scratch and something to come back for time and time again. Thank you Andrew to you and your fantastic team and thank you for taking the time to put perspective on what was our 1st World problems. Kia Kaha and see you again

I just love this place...gorgeous food good coffee. You can get a pizza and other meals into the evening. Love the wood fired oven..such a glorious smell of wood burning. Makes me definitely want a pizza..even if I wasn't planning on getting one! Staff ate awesome .

Good local location, nice to walk to for Sunday brunch. Great outdoor seating, nicely planted. Ok parking too with Fresh choice supermarket near by. Breakfast, lunch and pizza menu. Choose eggs bene with salmon, husband had same with bacon. Rosti and eggs very nice, but my salmon very overcooked and bacon nice but only one slice. Thought they were over priced for portion size. Coffee very nice. Staff polite but not very friendly, no smiles or welcomes when you arrived. Should be a good addition to local cafes once they iron out some teething issues.

Had brunch - Eggs Bene, this morning on Fathers' Day - delicious, especially the bacon! Coffee also perfect. Friendly waitress too. Only gripe was being charged $6 for a side of mushrooms as it was only 2 small mushrooms - seemed way overpriced. The rest was good value.

So lucky to have this place in Papamoa. They have one of those menu's that are really really hard to choice from. It's not a huge menu which is great but everything sounds wonderful. I've been a couple of times now and each time the food has been top notch. I had the lamb crepe this time and I'll be sure to have it again once I get through the rest of the menu. What a great place.

Better half and I had brunch/brekkie here 2nd weekend after opening on a fine sunny Sunday morning. Place was packed. Managed to find outdoor table at back, can be breezy when windy. Nice ambience, hip up to date suburban cafe. Both good blackboard menu and cabinet food to choose from. Good drinks selection. Order at counter, had the big trekkie. Very good. Excellent potato roti, good tasting bacon and free range eggs. Prices on par with every other cafe. Food, timing, service all my bono. Will be back to try something else
