This cafe is in a historic building that used to be the courthouse in Collingwood, hence the name. Nowadays, it's a happy place serving cafe style breakfasts, lunches and pizzas at night. It's great to have a contemporary cafe in what feels like the middle of nowhere. Coffee and service is ok. Excellent choice of indoor and outdoor seating, with a choice of different settings. If you're a chocolate fan, try the chocolate torte, it's deliciously chocolate-heavy.

It's been a few years since we've been I think the menu has massively improved. I had a panini, husband had a beef burger which was homemade and so tasty. The chocolate torte, muffin and caramel slice were fresh and the torte was incredible. Service was efficient and very friendly.

Yesterday I ordered a chicken cranberry panini and cappuccino and today a bacon & egg bagel and...cappuccino of course! Very nice double shot coffee and nice food too... bread was quite dry and hard both days though. Apart from that it's a great place to relax and enjoy a good cafe when around Collingwood.

Very accommodating cafe. When it started raining they made room for us inside. The second hand items for sale in the cafe are super sweet. I managed to get one or two wee things that are special! Great selection and decent price. Their cauliflower burger was yum. Only thing I'd recommend is having hot chips available!

A+++ could not ask for a better meal! Will be back again t try more. Quiet more little restaurant just on the right as you first get into collingwood. One of the few remaining buildings that still stands from the great fires of Collingwood township.

They took a while to bring out one person's food in our group, the rest of us had already finished eating but they apologised and due to covid had shortage issues for staff so understandable to a degree. The food was yummy!

Yo yo yo not too bad for a tiny nowhere town like Collingwood. Food was solid fare. It's not going to win the next best café awards but honest and filling. Couple of things, we came in for our morning caffeine fix first thing and seems as though the staff needed some too. Took a while to get the coffees out but perhaps we arrived very shortly after you guys opened. Table also wasn't as clean as we'd liked but very minor complaints for an otherwise pleasant experience.

My wife and I had a late breakfast here on Sat 24 April 2021. Wonderful food, great coffee and good prompt service. My wife is somewhat of an eggs bene expert and thought the Courthouse had done very well with theirs. The little twist of using potato rosti rather than a bread option was delightful. I had the duo of mushrooms on toast. I added an egg from the extras menu. I love my mushrooms and this dish was perfect. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Collingwood.

I walked in the door on a Sunday morning after lockdown and the place was packed and the conversation loud. Food & service were excellent and the vibe was cheerful. I sat and enjoyed my brunch in this lovely cafe in a delightful seaside village and a thought struck me. I need to find a wonderful woman and take her there for dinner. Yes, I know it's a 5 hour drive from home; but what a date that would be. If you're looking for a weekend destination; look no further. As you enjoy your meal I could be the one at the table for two with a smile on my face.

The Courthouse Cafe is an old historic establishment, the original court house in Collingwood, which has been restored keeping many of its original features and decoration. It serves delicious, fresh, local food and deserts, the most popular of which is their sumptuous chocolate torte. Unmissable for chocoholics! The building has several rooms featuring old photographs, utensils and books. Lovely atmosphere and beautiful, sunny outdoor seating. A local jewel and not to be missed if you are around Golden Bay. Great service too, and a friendly dog to pat on the garden area.

Wow - big city quality in a small town location. We have a hard time finding worthy places to eat when removed from the cities, but the breakfast and coffee we had on a Thursday morning rivaled anything we had in Wellington. I can't find a single thing to complain about this place. If you're hungry, come here!
