Reviews of Ciabatta Cafe & Bakery
T.
Must go!! This is amazing! Fabulous day with delicious food! When you walk in to the shop, you feel like “wow” 🤩!!! Trust me, you will definitely come back here. 🤘🤘
T.
What a great cafe! It’s a bit out of town but worth driving over to taste. They have a lot of pretzel based foods and a lot of baked goods and bread in general, and its all very wholesome. Taste great, plenty of parking, very spacious inside, definitely worth checking out if you’re in Rotorua.
M.
Simply amazing decor, staff and best food and coffee you could wish for. We'd give it 7 stars if we could.
S.
One of the best bakery I have ever been, not only the food, but also the dining environment.
B.
Awesome cafe. Been twice now. Make an effort to come here when in town. Love the ham and cheese pretzel!
V.
Great little cafe and definitely worth heading to if you want an awesome sandwich.
Great gluten free options available too.
This is also the official cafe of Puarenga parkrun.
l.
It's been 4 years since I've been here, OMG have I missed this yummmie food. Took my daughter for lunch and now she is hooked. Amazing service and amazing space to relax in.
R.
Good value for money. Tucked away in the industrial area of Rotorua, nice indoor and outdoor spaces. Nice range of food including vegan and vegetarian options.
Dog friendly, awesome pastries and breads. Friendly service.
Relatively accessible via street side and some store parking too.
S.
Hidden in an unassuming location, Ciabatta Café turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. We visited twice whilst on holiday... Seriously good sandwiches, cronuts and croissants. We'll be back any time we're in Rotorua.
M.
Fabulous lunch experience - highly recommend the Lammie & Smokie creations - really inviting environment with either cosy nooks or big open tables - very friendly staff. Note, there's a customer carpark behind it.
E.
This was our go-to spot during our trip to Rotorua. Great quality sandwiches! We tried other cafes in the area but we kept finding ourselves coming back to Ciabatta as it was easily the best cafe there! Lovely customer service too.
G.
A professional bakery that knows what they’re doing. Very good coffee too
L.
5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend!
Sandwiches are very flavorful on fresh baked focaccia or ciabatta bread, tried the brekkie and chookie, and the Banoffee coffee is exquisite! Just as other reviewers said it’s not too sweet yet very similar to the English dessert my partner and I love.
Cafe was buzzing but service seemed quick and we really loved that the owner (we think) came over to see how we were doing. Super friendly and made us feel welcomed.
Place is outside the main shopping district and parking can be tough but make the drive/walk/bike ride and check out Ciabatta, you won’t regret it!
M.
Hidden gem bakery and cafe in Rotorua. Absolutely loved the food and turmeric latte. Veggie bean ciabatta was 5⭐, they also made it vegan for me. Would definitely come back if in Rotorua again
S.
The ciabatta sandwiches here are delicious, I love that you can choose the type of ciabatta bread you want to use here. The chicken sandwich and the bacon and egg ones taste so good. Would definitely go back here again for this.
The cronuts here taste really good as well, I preferred the smaller cronuts as I didn't feel as bad eating something sweet.
The Longdog here is yummy, I just feel that they needed a bit more sauce on it, or a stronger sauce as I couldn't really taste it when I had cheese on top of this.
E.
Top experience for the whole family! Friendly staff, great international coffee styles available. I recommend the cortado!
Y.
My brother went to this place and he kept told me that this cafe is his favourite during his visit in NZ. Then I understand why he made that statement. My favourite is their ciabatta! Try their brakie ciabatta, yum yum yum. Crispy outside, chewy inside, tasty, they cook the egg into perfection plus crispy bacon inside. Will definitely go there again.
C.
Been here a few times and always love it. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Various seating areas and awesome NZ map table. Came here with the hubby, kids and our dogs the other day and here's pics of the delicious drinks. There's a dog-friendly area!!
s.
Coffee is always good , love their ham filled pretzels but they get smaller every time we go in :(
K.
Outstanding!! We popped in for breaky and had the almond croissants and bacon and egg ‘Brekkie’ sandwich. Absolutely delicious, this place is a winner!
A.
The mocha was yummy but the place was so busy on a Saturday so we waited for quite a while for our breakfast to arrive. Their brekkie with bacon and eggs was really yummy.
B.
Amazing food. The gonuts are very delicious. The sandwiches were large and taste. The atmosphere and decor are inviting and comforting. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. The coffee drinks after strong and are presented well. Highly recommended!
H.
Best place for a sandwich or danish in Rotorua. Home baked bread and great quality fillings, pesto, ..... soooo yummy. Go here.
Also available homemade jams and pasta sauce.
Owned by very friendly Swiss guy. Have a chat if you run into him.
M.
Amazing food, coffee and service! The short dog and long dogs are lovely with fresh bread, spicy sausage and mix of sauces. The salmon on ciabatta was light, fresh and tasty with plenty of salmon and capers for extra flavour. The cronuts are small circular heart attacks but worth every palpation. The coffee options are awesome too with some really authentic Italian offering. The place is huge and well decorated. The service is friendly, fast and efficient. Can't fault this place. Please open a training course for other cafe management! I'm just glad that Ciabatta is not in Christchurch because it would be dangerous to have frequently available.
D.
Very good sandwiches, coffee, and service. The mochaccino was fantastic, and the breakfast sandwich was tasty. You also get an option of 4 different style breads, which is nice. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting, it's a very cool spot to grab a quick bite.
J.
Delicious pretzel!!! What a great find in Rotorua 🥨 if you’re in the area, pop in for a treat. They have a wide range of finger-licking-good pastries and sandwiches as well ☕️ seriously worth the visit!
M.
Great food, can get quite messy with the deliciously crumbly pastries and stuffed ciabatta sandwiches. Lovely mix of retro dinner, parisian cafe and modern Kiwi cafe.
J.
This place is hidden on a street that is full of industrial buildings so it is really easy to miss yet it’s quite popular place with the locals that work on that street.
They offer a great selection of sandwiches in between two slices of that great ciabatta bread. They also offer coffee and baked goods as well.
I was surprised at how much sitting room there was since the actual restaurant counter is quite small. The further you walk in, the more room you discover.
We opted to sit on a few of the limited patio with our Lammie (slow cooked NZ lamb) and Smokie (Smoked salmon). They both came in their own little boxes and just unfold into a little plate for you.
Both sandwiches were friggin’ delicious and they were built with the right flavour profile to match the protein of choice.
The Lammie had the bacon jam to enhance the lamb while the Smokie had the swiss dressing & basil pesto.
If it’s not out of your way, we suggest coming here for lunch. It’s well worth it.
J.
Had three banoffee coffees while we were in Rotorua, so yummy and just barely sweet. The foot long was so good and the baguette was wonderful. Also had a breakfast sandwich which had delicious BBQ sauce on it. Cronuts were so good on the trip home too. The packaging of the foot long is cute but a tad wasteful for those eating in.
M.
5 stars.
IF I go back this place will be my go to place . Excellent and fresh pastry and good coffee.
The owner was very friendly as well.
We loved the pastry so much we bought more for the trip ahead.
Don't forget to try the pretzel. YUMMMM
L.
The food is so nice that we order 6 sandwiches and 2 hot chocolate and 2 hot cappuccino for 4 person. It's recommended place to visit and the place is very nice !! The environment is so nice that you can study or relax here . Parking is also easy to find . The best thing is the staff is super friendly .
Y.
Amazing bakery in a middle of nowhere! Very nice interior, great choice of breads and patisserie. Good coffee. Absolute enjoyment!
P.
It would've been so much better if we were in the mood for more fancy bakery fare, but we really were in the mood for more basic stuff (pies etc) and they just didn't have them. The sandwiches look amazing if they're what you're wanting.
The cronuts were disappointing. The flavours were bland; I had a passionfruit one and honestly couldn't taste any passionfruit in it, my daughter loves Nutella and couldn't finish her choc hazelnut one. I'm hoping we maybe got a bad batch or it just wasn't the right circumstances because they LOOKED amazing. Worth another try.
N.
Really cool cafe with great cabinet food and nice coffee. Plenty of seating space inside the cafe. Only issue is the location - in the middle of a semi-industrial area, on a street that is extremely busy, so good luck getting a car park during the work day!
H.
Planning to go to the Redwoods? Must place to stop by then. Not planning to go to Redwoods? Still make a trip to visit this place. It's your loss if you miss their sandwiches!
J.
Should visit this wonderful cafe, nice breads (spoil with choices) and coffee. We had wonderful breakfast experience. Baker's Breakfast is a good way to taste their breads.
S.
Fantastic Bakery! Amazing bread, cabinet treats and super friendly staff. Proper savoury pretzels. Quite an impressive long dog also. Will be back!
N.
Amazing food. Love the gonuts. The atmosphere and decor are inviting and welcoming. The staff are very friendly but very busy. Better be there early.
S.
Their coffee is very good. Totally recommend it. And all their bakery products are amazing. Definitely one of the best cafes in town.
b.
I don’t always leave reviews but when I do it’s because it’s amazing, hidden gem for sure. Brekkie sandwich was the best! And soooo filling! Reasonable price too! They also have super long hot dogs!
J.
Super friendly owners. Great breakfast and coffee. The owners really understand flavor and they have some of the most value for money options. Their sandwiches are definitely top-class and taste absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend the Brekkie for those who love a hearty bacon and egg breakfast sandwich. The Chookie and the Smokie both have a beautiful pallette of flavors that are smooth and rich in taste.
L.
The shop is located near offices rather than on a central main strip so don't be surprised if you feel like your GPS was lost.
If you could only order one item, GET THE BREKKIE!!!! Absolutely delicious and well matched! Our smokkie was good too but couldn't beat brekkie. The long dog was fascinating but tasted normal.
They also have alot of other pastries and bread types and loaves to choose from. We tried one of their pastries, that was good too. If only we were here for longer to return for another visit.
L.
AMAZING food. Will definitely be coming back next time we visit Rotorua. The brekkie was Delicious 🤤
S.
I absolutely love this place the staff are so welcoming and friendly.
The food is amazing love how cozy & relaxing it is .
I highly recommend this place 10/10 for me
R.
Great eating options with great staff!! Had a beautiful experience here with everything we ordered. Specifically their special Hot Dog and the coffee!
C.
We were blessed to have a residency at Ciabatta with Alex and the Crew. Here are some shots showing the lovely food and the music to accompany the experience
B.
Popped in for breakfast, very nice food and a great atmosphere
L.
Totally recommend! Great coffee, friendly service and lovely atmosphere in the dining area. Baked goods are incredibly delicious and the value is really good.
P.
A pearl of a Cafe, just around corner from Yamaha Dealer. Perfect for this rider getting a bike service. Coffee mere hmmm, and the bakery outa this world.
S.
Yummy~ marvelous! Outside is crispy and inside is soft. Taste is good and mood is cosy.
If it is near, I want to go everyday.
B.
Great selection of baked goods, I only wish I tried some of the sweets!
Had a sandwich, pretzels, coffee, and pizza. All of these were great, especially for an or if the way bakery.
The food quality certainly punches above the weight of expectations you might have for a "quaint" bakery.
C.
Beautiful cafe, friendly staff, very nice ambience and plenty of seating. Sandwich was delicious (we had the chookie) and apricot danish was excellent. Highly recommend.
D.
A hidden jewel of a cafe that's worth the drive just outside Rotorua. Great choice of nibbles with great coffee. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
C.
Must stop location in Rotorua. Forgot to take photos so you only get one of my purchase. The best hot cross buns I've had in a while. Lovely big cafe dining area. Everything is freshly made, good coffee and friendly staff.
S.
Despite the industrial like location, they are and they have always been providing the best cafe experience in Rotorua. Some benefits of the industrial like locations are, plenty of parking and a bit below average prices. Nice interior, very very friendly staffs and owner, delicious food and coffee. Have to admit I burst into tears a little bit first time I sat down and started to enjoy the food. You can’t imagine what $30 can get you from here. Everything on the menu well worth a try. Even cute n thoughtful packing up if you want a takeaway.
G.
Wow. Just wow. One of the best cafe experiences I have ever had in New Zealand. Tucked away from the CBD, great atmosphere, zippy service and incredible baking. A 5-star unmissable cafe experience in Rotorua.
T.
Got to try the Lamby they are great and a tennie weenie I now have pumpkin on my sandwich there bacon jam 😋
K.
One of the best place for having breakfest there. We followed the recommendation on tripadvisor and we were not disappointed at all with the sandwiches, soup and coffee. Definitely come back again.
A.
Excellent breakfast sandwiches, great local eatery and superb staff!
A.
Love this cafe! Very friendly staff and lots of space to relax have a coffee and eat the famous longdog or a range of beautiful ciabatta sandwiches and baked items. We make a point of visiting this cafe whenever we travel to rotorua.
N.
Best environment for a good breakfast~~ rate 5 star for both bakery & ambience🥰 love it 💕 must try when visit ROTORUA!!!
L.
Whats not to love? Food and service is absolutely beautiful.
C.
Best cafe ever!! Come every time I am in Rotorua - love, love, LOVE!
A.
Amazing service n great vegetarian food. Liked it
R.
Great food and coffee. Definitely one of the gems of rotorua. A must go for any visitor!
M.
Had a really nice brunch here, staff was friendly and the food was tasty and fresh, good coffee too 👌
H.
This place is unique in regards to only providing sub like sandwiches on a choice of different ciabatta. My favourite being Cook and Bacon and Egg. Yummy, filling and flavoursome. The coffee is probably the best I've had in Rotorua. Service is friendly and the café itself offering an abundance of inside seating for twosomes and larger groups. Outside seating casual. This is our go to place on a Saturday. Parking can be a limited depending on the time you visit.
N.
Nice cafe with good selection of sandwiches and bakery items. Plenty of seatings with cool decor and nice ambient.
C.
Amazing cafe and bakery, staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Not to mention, the food was so good! The potato and leek soup of the day was good but the beef goulash was even better. I also had the teeny weeny and brekkie which were perfect for me. The ciabata bread they use is delicious and leaves your stomach satisfied and it feels nice and light. The cronuts were very nice as well. Overall, great staff, great portions, great prices, and most importantly, amazing food!
A.
Great little Cafe. Loved the pastry and coffee. Nice and friendly staff.
Y.
One of the best coffee i'v tasted! and the bagel was so tasty i went to get another one. Cheers!
C.
You wouldn't know this cafe bakery was here without local knowledge or Google Maps. Fabulous fresh ciabatta sandwiches and divine pastries. Friendly staff and prompt service. And they have recyclables instead of dishes. Chose it for the 5 star rating and given the same.
M.
Beauty spot to have breakfast or a coffee, great food to take away..
J.
Yeah, delicious wee eatery, nice and cozy. Great place for some ciabatta.
a.
Pet friendly, great selection of foods, nice decor and furnishings
P.
A hidden gem in Rotorua. I had the Long Dog and loved it. Will be going back for other sandwiches as they looked equally good. Beautiful baked goods too.
G.
Great atmosphere, friendly and prompt service and the food was on point!!!
C.
Favourite cafe in Rotorua hands down. Their sandwiches are just out of this world. Cracking cup of coffee too.
H.
Amazing place to have your breakfast. Amazing bread and coffee.
I.
Its worth a visit when you come down to Rotorua. Its a hidden gem, tucked in the industrial surrounding area. Its a posh bakery, famous for their artisan breads, with real pretzels, cronuts and sandwich selections, great tasting coffees. They only served the best of breads, cakes and sandwiches.
great atmosphere too with great customer service from the staff, chefs and owners.
J.
Very delicious sandwiches. Can eat here everyday.
E.
Amazing food and ambience. Will be back again.
G.
Bit dark and dingy. Nice food friendly staff
T.
Great food, great staff, great atmosphere.
Will definitely be back.
Lots of seating both indoors and outdoors, and plenty of parking as it's a little out of the way.
M.
Friendly staff and delicious veggie sandwiches. Always a winner 🏆
A.
Best sandwiches we have had in NZ. Its in a hidden spot, so you need to visit it specially. Our favourite was the longdog for which we came to the shop twice
T.
Oh my gosh! This place is amazing! We had the Teeny Weeny and it was delicious and my kids had a giant pretzel and apple cronut and they were not disappointed. Get the ranch dipping sauce or mustard to go with the pretzel. Will make it a tradition to stop here on our travels :)
A.
A very easy recommend, will visit again. Very nice sandwiches, good coffee and tasty danish pastries. Note, it's in an industrial area of Rotorua, but please don't let that stop you from visiting. Surprisingly large area with lots of seating both indoor and outdoor. Friendly and attentive staff.
k.
Yummy food at a great price, nice relaxed atmosphere. Can easily see why it's so popular with the locals. Will definitely be back with the family.
Z.
Absolutely stunning and well priced food
V.
Unbelievable staff and yummy treats food. I regret that we didn’t know it being a dog friendly cafe otherwise we could enjoy the coffee and yummy treats.
Along with some pretzels and sweet stuff I decided to take home some starter and yeast! The expert lady who helped me was kind enough to give some tips to use store and feed starter.
The cafe is open 7 AM onwards so should be the only breakfast cafe in Rotorua. Don’t let the location in Industrial area put you off going there!
BTW Masti, out little Maltese is a picky eater and loved the buttery sheets of Apple Turnover 🐶!
J.
Very good food, nice atmosphere, like a french cafe love it
R.
Super, great, yum! We are thankful for this gem. The police are here queuing up for theirs too, must be their local
M.
Wow awesome selection of artisan breads & treats I'll be back
D.
DOG FRIENDLY We travelled with our dog and with the city center not allowing dogs, this was a lovely surprise with some seats in cute little booths allowed indoors for dogs. Food was great too and I had a lovely turmeric drink.
j.
My mom and I had a great breakfast here. They’re open early which is great for jet lagged visitors. We had delicious breakfast sandwiches on these giant, pillowy ciabatta rolls. In hindsight we probably could’ve shared one but they were so good we ate them before I could take a photo. Also, great espresso drinks as seen below!
Friendly folks here - highly recommend for a quick or a more leisurely bite.
I think the smile below says it all!
S.
Visit every few weeks. It's great.
E.
Very cosy cafe. Nice chief and service. Highly recommend for work and travelers. 👏👏
P.
Top smiles abound here. Hot chocolate and Raisin Cookie 4 me this day. Yummy indeed. Place is like the Tardis.
P.
Just go there. Food is so good. Enough said.
M.
Omg .... what a find 😃😃😂
My eyes where blown away as I walked through the doors of this coffee shop !!!
The menu & presentation of the display cabinet grabbed my attention so much so I felt myself becoming a piggie at 9am in the morning 😍😛🤪
I'm gonna have to return dozens & dozens of times cos I wonna taste every thing. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Btw the pretzel & coffee I had was absolutely spectacular delicious 😋. Top marks 🏆
T.
Ok, so we brought plenty of different things from here, the cronuts were overrated buuuttt you must try the custard and Berry pie, oh lordy it is good, the bagels were also very good, if you can plan to eat in, it's awesome inside
d.
The best bread I ate since I left France, very good coffee as well
W.
Wonderful place to stop for brunch. Just off Te Ngae Road and they bake excellent bread and the coffee is very good. The setting is also very interesting with comfortable and spread out areas. Loved the North and South Island tables. Staff very pleasant and the cafe well worth the extra bit of effort to get to it. Hidden gem.
L.
Worthy of all the high ratings. The best sandwich I've had in a long time. Totally worth the trip! Thanks
A.
We go there every thursday and quite often other days during the week. The staff are extra friendly go out of their way to make one feel comfortable.. As for the food, its outrageously superb..all bread types. Sweets great.pleanty of drinks hot and cold..Go see for yourself.
J.
With out a doubt the best sandwiches in Rotorua!!!
G.
Great food and coffee. 15th March, still as great as ever.
K.
Quality food for the price you pay. Counter staff are excellent. Regular coffee was smaller than what im use to, could also do with air conditioning in the larger dining area, however i Definitely will be coming back.
B.
Tucked away in an industrial area by tradies (which is how you know it's good tbt) -- this was the best coffee I've had in AGES. I'm fussy and drink a four shot black espresso and they nailed it so well we spent our entire trip returning every morning. Fantastic quality food, cheerful and honest service. If I'm ever in the area , I'm stopping by again!
C.
This place is really awesome they donate all bread and cakes leftover at the end of there day to emergency housing motel, really nice bread and donuts still fresh as
A.
Ciabatta was recomended by a relative who lives locally. We we very impressed. The coffee was hot and excellent. The Smokie was amazing. I can highly recommend Ciabatta's. They are so good it is understandable that they get busy around lunch time.
S.
Sensational sandwiches and pastries
We arrived at closing time (1:30 pm) on a Saturday afternoon and were so relieved that Alex and his team were still prepared to serve us. The sandwiches we ordered were sensational - delicious soft, fresh bread and beautiful gourmet fillings. The pain au raisin/snail was amazing! This little cafe really deserves its high rating. We'll be back!
李.
Coffee is good and friendly staff,we got a free dessert😍
N.
My favourite cafe in all of New Zealand. Always have to stop here when in or going through Rotorua. Amazing coffee, homemade bread, and the best cronuts. Highly recommend!
t.
What a wonderful place: we bought pizza, pretzels, croissants and sour dough bread. Ate the first two by the counter, could not resist! The rest was smelling wonderfully in the car! The place was full with people and the owners still had a minute for a nice little comment here and there! Definitely worth to make a detour!!!
S.
Secret cafe and bakery only the locals know about.
T.
Best lamb sandwiches in Rotorua ever! You get to pick your choice of bread and the sandwiches just melt in your mouth. My friend loved it so much he had two of them. The cronuts are also to die for. Absolutely love this bakery. You get to also leave your messages on the wall for the whole world to see :)
A.
Always great food and customer service. Only just discovered parking and entrance at back (with its popularity parking can sometimes be a problem) plenty of room for large groups too and I love all the different seating areas
C.
Really tasty sandwiches freshly made on lovely fresh foccacia, we even took some away. The donuts are also so tasty with a vanilla custard filling. Would definitely recommend here for lunch, reasonably priced too.
P.
Excellent sandwiches made with delicious baked bread. Although limited selection of fillings available, the ones we tried were very good. Free wifi and comfortable dining area. A bit out of the way but a good find.
S.
Delicious bakery with delicious pastries and coffee!
J.
Absolutely gorgeous assortment of pastries, pretzels and rolls. Lovely coffee. Friendly, welcoming staff.
O.
This place is incredible, the sandwiches with freshly baked bread are amazing. The coffee was superb. The owner was super friendly and made all of the furniture and the bread and coffee! Extremely talented and friendly guys with a lovely bakery and happy customers!
D.
High quality coffee and pastries. Plenty of relaxed seating
J.
Surprising place, tucked away in the industrial area but obviously well loved by locals. Great food and coffee, try the breakfast sandwich especially. Pastries were excellent as well. And lovely staff.
S.
Little cafe with a big impact from the moment you walk in. Very friendly staff, a great variety of choices and excellent food and coffee. The wall of napkin drawings and messages is a testament to this place’s service and popularity.
U.
One of the best bakeries in NZ!! Great coffee, finger licking delightful pastries and baked sweet stuff! Very hospitable environment and great service :)
I.
Amazing Sammies and fantastic cronuts. First class service. Definitely recommend this place to anyone,. You won't be disappointed
D.
I just love this caafe and bakery tucked away from city centre. Freshly baked bread and tasty pastries. Fantastic choice of breads and big sandwiches which when taken away are in cardboard containers. No plastic! Great coffee and friendly staff. Interesting decor.
P.
Beautiful store, staff and food. It was soo damn tasty. Has me wanting more already. Portion sizes are also fabulous. Can't praise this cafe enough 😍
P.
Yummy Food!👍
Great Coffee!☕
Great place to spend time with a Group of friends.😉
D.
The decor is brilliant. The atmosphere is very enjoyable. Got to love the large tables representing the North and South Island of New Zealand. The food is always high quality and the staff are very helpful.
S.
Yes this was great as every review suggested. We got the ciabatta (amazing), coffee (amazing), and two sweets; apple crumble cronut (?) and custard something. BEST CRONUT! Best touch was definitely all the staff who were sooo friendly. It’s really disappointing to see when a place has “made it” and then the staff get all snobby. Glad this place wasn’t!
G.
As visitors to New Zealand we were at first not sure if we were on the right path as it is a bit off the main Street of Rotarua but the coffee was great, the Cronuts were delicious and the service was exemplary. Highly recommended.
G.
Tucked away on an industrial estate, but what a gem of a place! Absolutely delicious sandwiches, bread, pastries, excellent value and plentiful seating (much more spacious than it appears from the outside). Very friendly staff too!
H.
Quite possibly the best sandwich I've ever had. I ordered the Chookie, their take on a chicken sandwich. The bread and chicken were cooked perfectly. The two sauces were both delicious. I would order it again in a second!
A.
MUST VISIT! So amazed by the quality of food here. Found this little gem on zomato and tripadvisor and was so glad that we found this spot on our honeymoon! My wife loved the gonuts and streusel! The sandwhich was delicious! Infact everything we had was so good. We came on our last 2 days on Rotorua and took a gonut and struesel to go! Thanks so much for having us and making our honeymoon even more enjoyable! Amazing customer service as well :)
J.
Amazing cafe - a real gem tucked away in Rotorua. Good coffee and great custard slice and custard crumble fruit pie🙃🙃🙃
K.
The best ciabatta breads in the country and delicious (and irresistible) patisserie food. I always call when I'm back in town and take their breads home for the freezer. Im told they do a fabulous Hammy with hot ham off the bone in their delicious bread. Next time!
P.
Absolutely love Ciabatta; awesome sandwiches & tasty sweet treats. Coffee has never let me down either. Highly recommend :)
T.
One of the best cafes we have been too. Had the Smokie (smoked salmon sandwich) and Lammie (lamb sandwich) both on Ciabatta and both were soooo good. The combination of toppings, the freshness of everything and the bread were all absolutely delicious. Came out in cool, practical takeaway boxes as well. Also had a Gonut (puff pastry donut), Banoffee coffee and Cordata which were all so good as well. The cafe is beautifully decorated with lots of seating and staff were so lovely (even letting us use the phone for a taxi). If this was our local cafe we would be there ALL the time!
C.
Nice environment. Relatively busy for a shop so hidden from Main road.
Friendly staff and good service.
The food was acceptable not flash not bad. The coffee was good.
B.
Took a group of village residents to see Jazzanova a three piece jazz band. Music was awesome, food delicious, coffees perfect. Suggest you provide some cushions for benches as they are a bit hard. However, thoroughly enjoyed by young and old alike and understand Jazzanova are now going to be playing regularly. Definitely worth a visit.
y.
Just Super.Fresh ingridients, tasty sadnwiches and lovely coffee, suitable for everyone(including picky children)staff is very helpful and smily at all times .
Loved this place ,its going to be our stop everytime we come to Rotorua for sure.
Q.
Nice and cozy environment. I enjoyed my smoked chicken ciabatta sandwich and flat white, I even had to grab another flat white before I left. Definitely worth a trip!
D.
Great coffee. Great food range. Great service. Go find it. Quiet too...not your usual cafe on that front. Thank you!
F.
Would you believe I got a Brekkie on my way through to Taupo on a Tuesday morning and it was so good I got another one on my way back through the following day?
S.
Best coffee iv hard in NZ, the Doppio quad shot amazing! May not sleep tonight but that's alright! 😎👌

B.
The food was absolutely delicious!!!! Coffee was good too. You can smell the fresh food from the corner. Soooo yummy
A.
I love this place. The sandwiches and coffee are amazing and the service is very friendly despite being quite a busy little cafe. Very nice
R.
Staff were very friendly. the "hammie" sandwich was delicious but the "brekkie" sandwich wasn't great and the hot chocolate was tasteless and no mash mellows.
N.
Always has great food , not ideal for meetings as it gets a bit loud but there are plenty of places to meet but only one to get this kind of food done so well.
E.
Amazing great quality food and lovely staff!
If I lived here I would come every day.. such a great atmosphere
It was a pleasure to meet the staff and to know how everything started.. awesome
K.
Beautiful food and the egg salad roll is to die for. Must admit to falling for their sugar cronuts too...
G.
Nice cafe to have a drink and something to eat. Not your normal quick sandwich. Very made and presented. I had smoked salmon and it was lovely. There is also free internet which is a bonus
A.
Stopped in on a spur of the moment decision, and so glad we did! Amazing sandwiches and treats. Wish it was closer to where I live!

J.
A real great cafe. Hot chocolate is really great. Had a brekkie sandwich and it's nice. Cronut is not bad too
M.
Best bakery in town run by Alex the Swiss ciabatta Guru. Passioned to the bone about baking. Great interior design with Swiss and NZ precision hidden in an industrial area of Rotorua
A.
A must visit when you are in rotorua, best sandwich I've ever had in my life. The prices are so low and everything on the menu is great value! The longdog is massive and the sandwiches are divine. Hidden gem in rotorua
S.
I always stop here for a sandwich and coffee whenever I’m in or passing through Rotorua. Recommend everything served there. Staff are also amazing and good for recommendations if it’s your first time there.
A.
If you want some of the finest bakery food, this is the place. The lambie is a personal favourite. A must try for anyone... Plenty of seating too. Bring the family!
C.
Very good food and not a long wait. Just one of the better cafe places in Rotorua.
S.
Awesome place
Has a rather small menu but makes up for that with a high quality product and surroundings
Its really difficult to bet a hands on owner
Their attention to detail is always exceptional
Its a bakery so its mostly a menu high in bread products
Its just a great atmosphere with some excellent staff
Parking is a little challenging given how popular it is
But well worth a visit
E.
Food was yum. Unfortunately the coffee was the worst I've had in a long time. Extremely weak and the milk (which was nicely textured) tasted terrible. What a shame.
C.
Fantastic! Feels like Europe.
M.
Bloody amazing food in a spacious friendly environment. These guys make the best lunches in Vegas
E.
Tried Croissant, cibatta, short dog and brownie, they are delicious, moreover the coffee are great! Staffs are very kind.

L.
Lived up to the hype! Great sandwiches, service was nice, need to return for a cronut...
M.
Yummy food. The place is amazing to have breakfast and enjoy a coffee.
T.
YUM!!! YUM YUM YUM. Tried streusel for the 1st time, I loved it and wish I could have more. Their Go-nuts are also delicious, not too greasy like other cronuts or gonuts whatever you like to call it. 😅 Everything is just spot on!! Also got a raisin and walnut loaf to go, 😋😋😋. I will 100% go back to get more yummy stuff when I visit rotorua next time.
M.
