Highly recommend this local cafe at Maungatapu. great coffee; they offer large range cabinet foods with great prices. Love the gourmet beef burger, juicy and tasty.

What an unexpected pleasure today when my husband and I came across Fat Cat Street Coffee! Halfway through a long walk, we were wanting a snack and coffee before we continued on our way. We shared the best pie we have ever had - crammed full with a delicious creamy chicken, mushroom and cheese filling. Although pricey it was definitely worth the quality. We also shared an equally delicious spinach and feta scone. The food was very fresh and we were told everything is made on the premises. You could certainly taste this in the quality of their products. Highly recommend this place if you are wanting delicious, fresh homemade food.

Quaint little Cafe. A great place to visit for breakfast. Has primarily cabinet food, but it has some amazing pies and and quiches. Very good service to boot.

Lovely little friendly cafe tucked away in the Maungatapu shopping centre. The cabinet choices are fantastic, coffee and tea selection with great flavours, and meals are very tasty and a good size! Great price too....

Lovely service, good coffee. Very busy. Unfortunately today I went to buy a savoury scone and there was a blow fly under the cloche. No huge thing as it is summer but I feel these things should be checked on regularly.

Excellent coffee, excellent food - their cheese scones are the best in town. And their cheese and bacon scones are scrumptious, too. Ther service is brilliant, prompt, cheerful, and happy to be there. And it's just plain interesting, with the superbly chosen decor.

A great find, wish I'd known about this great little place before now. Amazing food, wonderful friendly service. Much better pies than Patricks and the best toastie ever had. Lovely courtyard to eat outside.. will keep going back !

Nice coffee , service and scones were soooooo good

I was greeted as soon as I stepped into this colorful and cute cafe, it was the first time I had been there. I ordered the eggs on toast and it was the best poached eggs I had ever had in my life wow! I also had the pancakes and iced mocha which was a delicious treat for me. Yum! Will be back again for sure.

Pies! Pies! Pies! These would be the best pies north of Turangi. Beautiful handmade choc-full-of-filling pies. I had steak and cheese as recommended and the old Dad munched chicken and cheese. So delicious, melt in your mouth meat, crisp pastry. Great coffee and other yumsters in this cute wee cafe not far off the main road. Well worth a visit.

Great quirky little café with delicious coffee, amazing food (possibly the best Eggs Bene hollandaise sauce ever?), and a super friendly team! Try the pies, they are pure perfection! We were sad to see Café Vanilla go (which used to be here), but when the Fat Cat moved in it exceeded our expectations! 🙌

Great food, good proportions for the price as some people complained that they'd put up their prices. Don't know if that applies to milkshakes which looked small for the price paid.
