Stayed here on a whim while on a massive cycle tour and too tired to camp and I'm so happy I did. Absolutely stunning heritage building, meticulously clean, comfortable room and the owners are super welcoming and attentive. Amazing breakfast in the morning too and a great chat about bikes. Highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back the next time I pass through Thames.

This B&B is my new favourite. Planning to return before the end of summer. Such a lovely couple running venue, breakfast was great, room was large and homely. Awesome value for money. Everything was as advertised (no hidden surprises), I particularly enjoyed taking in the late night summer air with a cuppa on the balcony.

Felt very welcome. Room was comfortable clean and we'll presented. Bathroom facilities where exceptionally clean. The breakfast in the morning was the best. I really enjoyed my stay in this historic building and would highly recommend it

Stayed here for about two weeks for business reasons. the room is tidy clean. don't be afraid about the Shared bathroom. there are plenty showers and toilets. someone keep it clean all the time.
both downstairs and upstairs has coffee areas for self serving coffee,&tea cold water and hot water. also someone always watching to keep the water bottles full.
Breakfast served with egg and bacon, self serving toasts. filter coffee or whatever drink you like. orange juice? yep they have.
big living room, play pool, card game and watching TV.
beautiful garden, cute cat.

Beautiful B&B with fabulous facilities and super kind & friendly hosts. Great value for money.
I was a bit worried about the shared facilities but didn't need to be - they are clean and plenty of them so easy to share.

The Lady Bowen is the most beautiful, historic B&B - located in the old gold-mining town of Thames - with heaps to see and do in the area.
The rooms are immaculately clean, with crisp, fresh linens and a lovely atmosphere. I slept like a baby and woke up refreshed and ready to go!
The guest areas are lovely for chilling out, relaxing with a book, watching TV, playing games or even soaking up some sunshine.
Barbara and Stu are the kindest, friendliest and most generous and helpful hosts you could hope to find.
I heartily encourage anyone to stay here. You’re guaranteed a warm welcome, the cleanest, most comfortable rooms and an absolutely delicious breakfast!

We stayed two nights in the B&B and we just loved it… the place is super clean and organised the extra comfy bed is just a plus.
The hosts are super friendly and we definitely will return for more visits.
Awesome breakfast too.

This was my second stay a Lady Bowen -- returning because we liked it so much the first time. Character. History. Hospitality. All that. Close to town. Close to the waterfront. Both times we came in on bikes and were able to wind down that evening and get a sturdy breakfast before the ride the next morning. Yep, very much recommend.

A wonderful place to stay where the hosts went out of their way to ensure comfort. So many nice touches - fruit bowl, drink on arrival, lolly bowl.

Why did we rate this business five stars. Because we loved the enviroment at Lady Bowen Bed and Breakfast. We both felt welcolme from the moment we walked inside to the time we had to leave. The next time we need somewhere to stay in Thames this will be the place we will choose. Clean, comfortable, affordable, ample space inside or outside to relax in. A beautifull resident cat to meet called Daisy. A short walk or drive to main street shopping. We hope to return soon. Thanks Barbara and Stu for making the time we had there a memory, Ken and Michele from Papatoetoe.

The house was beautiful from inside with an amazing garden beside the common kitchen area, the rooms were tidy and clean. Great service from the host 'Stu and barbara' , would definitely visit again ❤

Lovely place. Quiet, comfortable and a very well presented BnB that keeps the authenticity of a heritage building. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and we slept very well. What makes the stay even better is the host. Thank you for an amazing stay, you both made it feel like home. Highly recommend for a getaway to explore the local area. Great place, great hosts, great facilities. Lovely garden too. I had much enjoyment looking at your plants.

A perfect haven for a special mother and daughter getaway. Barbara and Stu went beyond expectations to make this a real treat. Will definitely return with my husband or alone for a wee retreat.

Great B&B in excellent location. Extremely friendly and helpful hosts who go the extra mile. Would highly recommend!

Barbara and Stu were extremely accommodating and the level of hospitality was outstanding. The hotel has been lovingly restored; the rooms are clean, cosy and comfortable there is even a lounge room to relax, drink a glass of wine, play pool and listen to some music. The location is within walking distance of Thames’s shops and cafes. It is definitely a must stay if you are passing through or spending time in Thames.

What a great stay this was. Such a hospitable host who was generous and gracious. I definitely will be returning. Very clean room, comfy bed (best pillows ever), clean bathroom facilities and a charming atmosphere that harkens back to the height of the gold mining boom.

Very well kept 150 year old historic bnb. Tidy and comfortable, friendly owners who were very personable and helpful. Slept well and the showers were hot. Breakfast was great, good meal for our hike to the pinnacles. Would reccomend if you are in Thames.

We loved our stay at Lady Bowen B and B the proprietors Barbara and Stew were so helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were really good and they took our e bikes away and charged then every night, filled and chilled our water bottles. Hotel is a very beautiful and one of the oldest buildings in New Zealand. Was told brief history of it when checking in. The building has a great 19th century style and it's a pleasure to stay there, not only in your room but in the kitchen, garden, play/reading room (books, pool, chess etc.) or the big balcony in front where you can sit with a drink and relax. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. Very quiet area near the Victoria Park and coastal walkway but also short walk from a busy city center. Breakfast was great with a variety of food to choose from.
Cannot imagine staying anywhere else when in Thames.

Wonderfull! Great host! Beautifull garden we had access to sit and relax in! Bedrooms and bathrooms immaculate clean! Had a billiard table, piano, board games and reading material to keep you entertained. Breakfast was nice! Selection of fruits, cheese's, yogurts and fresh bread. Yum!!

Luxury at a budget price! My husband and I went to Thames for one night to hike the Pinnacles track nearby and found our stay at Lady Bowen B&B to be great. Barbara and Stu do a super job with the beautiful historic building, and the service was spot on. Our room was very comfortable and the shared baths were very clean. The garden in the back was a great place to sit and relax with a beer after a long hike. The breakfast provided was such a delight to have before we headed out in the morning. What a gem - hope to be back.

Sweet old b and b. Clean and tidy rooms in a really lovely old hotel. Comfy beds and great breakfast. Quiet area with not too far to walk into town. Locally there is a park and walks along the cycle way too.
Tea and coffee making on the landing and a shared bathroom make this good value for the budget traveller.
