J.Came here on January 27th 2019 and Timàru was a zombie town, everywhere was closed with the exception of a couple of places (sewing, knitting, scrap-booking and clothes shops) and everyone was either at the concert or other event that was going on. As the only people in the front bar, we got a friendly welcome and the selection of beers on offer is reasonable, but expensive. Background music was mainstream from across several decades, but not offensive. Didn't have any food, but the menu looked good and not expensive. Would come back again. Four stars for the price of the drinks.

G.I've given very positive reviews for The Old Bank before but this was the first time we'd been for an evening meal, rather than lunch.
As we'd expected, the food was wonderful pub-style fare, but on this occasion, we were let down by the lower quality of service and a wine glass with lipstick around the edge.
We know the glass should've been sterilized so that was a lesser concern but we really felt we were being hurried along by the waitperson, asking for our menu choices about a minute after we'd sat down. Furthermore, dishes were being cleared and the next course delivered before the slower of us had finished the current course.
Yes, a good pub but this time was a tad less impressive.

A.Had a good lamb shank meal here which was surprisingly good value. However I found the service pretty unfriendly. On arriving nobody greeted me so I seated myself, saw the menu instructed us to order meals at the bar so I approached the bar to order and got snapped at to just wait at my table for my order to be taken. When the server arrived I asked her about the instructions given in the menu. She seemed flustered and claimed the menu was being updated this week. The service did not get any friendlier at any point. While the food was good I'm giving 3 stars as I can get good food elsewhere without being snapped at. It was also a hot day outside and uncomfortably hot inside and I did not see a single fan, open door or window in sight.
M.$10 for a roast meal $16 if you you include an icecream sundae. Was there Sunday with Timaru BRONZ Motorcycle Club monthly meal.
A.Food was awesome (as usual). Staff were great. However we had to ask three times where our drinks were, and the wrong dessert was provided. We know which dessert was ordered, but we were told we were wrong!
Despite this, would still recommend to others. Prices are very good too.

A.After deciding to go to Timaru for the day from Christchurch walked off the street into the old bank. Being rather cold and coming from the goldcoast I immediately felt the warm atmosphere and greeting from the lady behind the bar. The 3 of us all ordered different meals much enjoyed. Very well cooked food with fresh wholesome ingredients. Large meals and the coffee was excellent. Would definitely recommend the place. Hope fully they will be there next time I visit.
