N.Such a great spot! Friendly staff, great atmosphere and the food was delicious. We stopped on our way through and we are so glad we did! We all had burgers, which were delicious and well received by our toddlers. The staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome.

L.We found Tucker when looking for somewhere for lunch while journeying south and felt welcome as soon as we arrived. Staff are very friendly and the size of the restaurant makes it easy to chat with the chef.
The Waikato has a toastie challenge this May, so the husband opted for Tucker’s entry: a cheeseburger toastie. It was apparently very good and tasted just like a cheeseburger but in toastie form.
I opted for the rice bowl with grilled tuna. The tuna was some of the best cooked tuna I’ve had in a long time.
The menu also has burgers, soft tacos and more, plus cabinet food too.
Next time you’re passing through Tirau stop by for tasty refreshments and lovely service.
T.En route to visiting family in Rotorua, we stopped in Tirau for initially what was going to be just coffee but turned into lunch as we were warmly enticed by the news of their special of a pulled pork with apple slaw brioche burger and freshly baked on site fresh cream, berry compote and custard doughnuts.
In addition to espressos, burger and doughnut, we also ordered fries, creme brulee, seared tuna taco and sour vide fried chicken, we were highly impressed by the food. Everything was simply elevated in flavour and texture and the service was exceptional.
It was lovely chatting with the local owners who have only opened up 7 weeks earlier. This really was a gem of a find, so much so that we hope to either return in our way home or come down from Auckland on a weekend for lunch. Highly recommended!

J.My husband and I stopped in Tirau on the way back to Auckland today for breakfast/lunch.
Tucker which is located on the main street in the middle of town was a great choice for our stop.
The staff were very friendly and the service provided was excellent. The kitchen is located front of cafe, where everything is made fresh to order. We ordered the Big Breakfast Burger, it sounded delicious and when delivered was everything described on the menu.
A soft Brioche Bun, with a generous 100% beef pattie, Potato and Kumera hash brown, with bacon and mushrooms, and topped with a great Hollandaise.
All ingredients are locally sourced, and made with care, which in the end, produced an excellent burger, which was delicious. Prices were very reasonable and they make a great coffee.
The cafe itself was small and intimate, with outdoor seating as well, very clean, provided free Wifi and had clean and tidy restrooms.
5 stars here, will definitely be stopping here again. Recommend to anyone looking for a great burger to fill the spot on your travels.

F.Excellent service and great tasting food. Drove passed Tirau enroute to Auckland and decided to stop here for a late lunch. Order the American burger, Grilled Tuna and a side of onion rings. The waitress serving us was super friendly. Food arrived in good time and all dishes tasted really good. The burger patty was very juicy and does live to the shop's claim of having the best burger in town!

So pleased we visited you this evening 😊 We all said we will be back we were so impressed from the friendly staff and management (so helpful) to the awesome entree of Tempura Prawns that were fresh as and Waikato Beef Steak that just melted in your mouth and that jus was to die for. We have all travelled the world and reckon your American Cheese burger in a brioche bun was the best. We finished with chocolate fondant and Butterscotch Pudding and washed it down with a bottle of Mud House Merlot. Such a pleasant evening as good as any restaurant in Ponsonby or Melbourne. C.Absolutely amazing service. I could not believe how quick they were with the meals. We ordered two Eggs Benedict meals and they were ready in five minutes amongst serving other customers of which there were many. The coffee was hot, the food was very tasty and the whole place was clean. The toilets were also very clean, too (Look and learn, gas stations!). This place deserves an award and the staff deserve a pay raise. If you are passing through Tirau, you're doing yourself a favour by stopping in at Tucker Espresso and Eatery. I'll be making sure to make a point of going there every time I journey through Tirau from now on.
Also, the Lemon and Lime Slice is killer.

E.Was passing through Tirau yesterday and we stopped for lunch. Between two of us we ordered the fish burger and fish & chips. Everything was cooked to perfection - the best tasting fish & chips I've had in a while. The hot chips were divine as well! Staff were lovely. Don't often find myself in Tirau, but whenever I am next there I will definitely stop again! Great value for money.
N.Very good licensed cafe. We ordered burgers kumara fries and a beer each. Polite and prompt service and great food! Facilities clean and with small hand towels instead of blowers or paper towels. Highly recommended.
N.We had a quick stop passing thru and ordered Battered fish and chips, Chicken, slaw and chips and our lil one didn't want anything on the kids menu and the waitress said it was ok to order anything else so 2 poached eggs and chips it was. The chicken and fish were cooked to perfection 👌 and was exactly what we wanted! Will definitely make it a regular stop! Highly recommend!!

A.My partner and I stopped by for lunch while driving through Tirau today. The calamari and fish were seasoned and cooked perfectly, the onion rings were crispy and sweet and the coffee and smooth and creamy! The decor is also gorgeous and the staff were really warm and welcoming. We're very glad we stumbled across the little gem!

H.Really good service, very friendly and attentive. We arrived near closing time and the manager/owner was still really nice. I was too hungry to take good photos but we're really happy with the food. The mash potato, chicken, pork belly and fries were on point. Highly recommend. We wanted to come back for breakfast but they open at 11am so will have to stop in on the way back to Wellington.

C.Spending the night in Tirau on our way up the island. This was the only place that's open for dinner on a Friday night and I'm glad because the food was delicious! I had the pasta and meatballs and my partner the burger and kumara fries - all amazing. Was also the only place we could get a drink in town so lucky us. H.Tucker is a little gem we discovered by chance when driving though Tirau. Beautiful fresh food, prepared with pride. Lovely staff and a relaxed welcoming vibe. We are planning to stop on the way home too so that we can try more of the menu! Tuna taco and duck spring rolls both amazing. Coffee was also amazing. Highly recommend.
A.Chose tucker for brunch, fantastic choice. Big breakfast was exactly what it said on the label. Wife indulged with the rosti with chilli scrambled eggs and pan fried salmon. Both perfect. Coffee and mango smoothie also top knotch! We come to today about every 6 weeks so Tucker will be on our schedule as well.

B.A great place to call in and eat or you can take out. There is a good menue choice, the food was extremely good and well presented. Good coffee, tea etc and licenced. The staff are freindly and efficient.
J.Wowzas - we had the unfortunate experience of booking a night at the Okoroire Hot Springs Hotel for staff, who were reluctant to eat there given the poor state of the place. Travelled into Tirau in search of food and stumbled on the miracle of Tucker in Tirau - which was just magic! Couldn't beleive our good fortune, the food and service at Tucker was absolutely outstanding! Thankyou so much - just wonderful.

S.Good place in the small town. The place can get full very fast on weekends so it’s good to book a table in advance. The service was very slow, we waited for almost 45 mins for our food. Part of the reason could be because they were very busy and there was only 1 chef. The staff were good and apologised for the delay. Food was quite average and the protein quantity was small. Loved the pan fried fish with mash and salad but the Southern Fried Chicken was a tiny piece of chicken that came with mash and just fancy lettuce in the name of the salad. Overall it’s a decent place as there are hardly any options around.
