Reviews of Staglands Wildlife Reserve & Café

Such a great outing for both adults and kids. I’d recommend buying a bag of animal food, we didn’t and regretted it.
The park is nicely sized, not too small but also not too big. You can stay on the walking path or you can walk down by the beautiful stream and cross it over a wooden log. Above it is a pretty cool suspension bridge.
The cafe was fine, not the best food or coffee but it did the trick. Service was kind and relatively quick even though it was a busy day, and employees were very kind.

Absolutely brilliant family experience. So beautifully set out, so much for the kids to see and do plus animals and birds to interact with. Added bonus, as a coeliac, was delighted to find such a great range of safe, gluten free food. I am used to making do with a coffee while watching everyone else eat at these kinds of places so am really impressed and would highly recommend.

We had such a lovely time there! Our 3 year old son absolutely loved feeding and interacting with the animals and learning about new animals that he hasn't seen before. The food at the cafe was delicious and staff were super friendly and helpful! Happy 50th anniversary Staglands! Keep up the amazing work!

Great place! Was really neat walking around and interacting with different animals - even had a rainbow lorikeet land on me! The cafe also had excellent food and top notch service! Easily spent three hours there - well worth the entry cost (and the road to get there!)

Awesome spot to grab a coffee or treat while enjoying the scenery and watching the bird life from the cafe. Lovely environment. Hope to see the full park one day.

Wonderful views and you'll definitely love it if you're an animal lover. But just be aware of the goose and swans, they could be quite aggressive if they're not in a good mood 🤣

One of the best places to go around Wellington, especially with kids! Lovely, very friendly and funny animals, beautiful surroundings. For the 3+ hours we spent there, we smiled and laughed as much as for the previous week? month? :-) Little historical area within the reserve is another remarkable spot.

I used to go to Staglands as a kid and absolutely loved it, I thought it wouldn't be the same going back as an adult and the farm would have lost some of its magic, but not at all! The environment created for the animals was so impressive especially the enclosures for the birds.
The most important thing for me about going to a petting farm Is that the animals seem well cared for and Staglands exceeded expectations. You could see that the animals were very well looked after and they were genuinely happy! Could not recommend more, my favorite place to visit!

Impressed with the amount of animals and all the details well thought and set up. The café was also really nice. A must go for families!

Came with our 3 year old and we all really enjoyed the day. Lots of animals to see both in enclosures and roaming around. The historical buildings are also very cool. It is definitely the pretty sketchy drive in from Waikanae.
