We enjoyed a wonderful brunch at Sol Cafe this morning! Amazing food, wonderful attention and hospitality from the staff and the ocean views and setting were breathtaking! They say that Eggs Bene with Salmon is the bench mark dish of a great brunch cafe. I ordered this dish and I have no hesitation in rating my meal 10/10!! This is a 'MUST VISIT' eatery when visiting Oneroa.

Had two eggs on toast and two crepes. Crepes were very good, albeit the second one was missed off the order so had to ask where it was before it was made, although didn’t take too long. Eggs on toast were good as well, toast was a little hard. Coffee wasn’t great - was very bitter. Overall a decent breakfast.

Had an amazing time at Sol Bar! Food was incredible and the portions were large. The staff was so lovely and welcoming, and I have to mention the view! Amazing. Would absolutely recommend you dine here, breakfast lunch or dinner.

Fish and chips are ready good. The view is extraordinary.

Been to breakfast here a couple times. Been impressed each time. Recommend any bakery item in the pantry, the egg dishes and the French toast. Lovely coffees and chai lattes. Beautiful view of Big O and heaps of outdoor seating. Kid friendly.

Well positioned in the village of Oneroa. Combined cafe, restraunt and bar. Great place for lunch with reasonable prices when compared to other eateries in the village. It has plenty of seating both inside and out. And it has a great out look over the beach and Bay.

Great place to stop when you first get into Oneroa for a snack and a drink. They seem to be the only place serving booze before lunch. Great views of the water and it's cool seeing staff come out to their garden to fetch fresh fruit, herbs etc

What an amazing experience on a beautiful Sunday it was! We took a ferry ⛴ ride to Waiheke island. This island is full of amazing people! We met the restaurant owner of Sol Bar & Cafe. She gave us a tour to the cafe. Informed us about the upcoming event where 200 people are expected to join. She offered us to join their boat in the evening! She said she would be our Argentine mom in Waiheke island if we start living there. What an amazingly positive and energetic person! All the staff including Kiara are so happy and fun people that you will feel happy instantly 😀. Not to mention it in a beautiful location of gorgeous Waiheke!

Wow! Been to Oneroa on multiple occasions yet never really paid attention to this very surprisingly large cafe on the hill! They've got indoor seating in the main cafe (with couches too), outdoor picnic and regular tables, but then also _another_ seating room behind those with even more couches and a mini beer bar. I see a big like pizza firepit outside too. Only got the fish and chips this time, but that was great so eager to see what they have again next time we're by. Overall, it was a great place to read a book for a couple of hours whilst we waited for the next ferry

The food was fairly good but their kitchen is disproportionately small compared to the amount of tables. We waited almost an hour for two mains. If you're sitting outside beware of aggressive seagulls.

Good is fine - we had burgers. Coffee seems a bit hit or miss. Service is also hit or miss. It's a great spot and we like the outdoor space.

Fish and chip very nice one. Hoki fish very fresh.

Eggs Benedict was delicious - generous with the bacon as well. Coffee was great and views are amazing. Would eat here again for sure.

We ordered the Argentinian BBQ for two and wow the food was amazing! Serving size is huge and well worth the price. Service is super friendly as expected and very helpful. We'll be popping in next time we're in Waiheke for sure!

Was a nice sunny day so the views out over the bay were amazing. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious and a special shout out goes to the beetroot in one of the salads which was to die for. (I think I would have definitely stabbed someone if they tried to take it from me.) They also have a great range of quirky little concrete fairy houses.

Great location nth end of Oneroa good indoor seating with nice outdoor seating. NZ Cafe food with a latin American twist. Good service and reasonable price for Waiheke.

A haven from the weather, good coffee and breakfast/brunch spot. Accommodations easily made for gluten free, vegan, vege etc. A bit of a waiheke classic.

Good food and pretty good service with probably the best view in the Gulf. The owner/manager who looks like a very nice guy spends a lot of time on the phone….

Loved this place! The staff were so welcoming! They even let one of our group interrupt their live music session so she could perform. So good we ended up back there the next night and were greeted with hugs! We experienced some pretty bad service from a couple of places on the islandbut these guys have showed the rest of them how it SHOULD be done!

Phenomenal service from Paul and the team! We made a group booking for 37 people fairly last minute and Paul was happy to accommodate and gave us our own private section of the café. Fantastic service, food and setting (despite the stormy day). 100% can recommend. Thank you so much Paul and the Sol Bar team!

Food is lovely but more important then that was the level of customer service, The women who owns the place was amazing, Greeted us very friendly and a bubbly personality, The cafe has a really great vibe. Pretty soon you realise you are on Waiheke island. I would recommend to all my friends

Sol Bar IS THE BESTTTT!! Its a fantastic joint on Waiheke! If you a mainland aucklander i highly recommend this place to anyone visiting. Fantastic and friendly service and absolutely amazing food. Like literally every single meal was just divine Even simple stuff like a spinach feta scone was damn good. Came here twice on the same trip cause thats how good it is. Big shout to the staff today 29/12/20 and on 26/12/20.

Had such a lovely experience at this cafe! My partner and I got the big breakfasts and it filled us up perfectly. Highly recommend!! The staff were also very kind and helpful.

Thank you for catering for our squad of 15 for breakfast on a busy waitangi saturday morning. On behalf of the squad the Sol Bar and Cafe get a 5 star rating for service and food, compliments to all the staff and the owners for providing a first class waiheke culinary experience, Highly recommended and will definitely be back again.

Almost as soon as we parked up, the skies opened up and gave us a good soaking. Fortunately we just happened to pass this restaurant. As well as good views looking out over the bay. It had a nice casual atmosphere, just the place to hang out on a rainy day. I had the poached eggs on toast with tomato relish on the side. The coffee was nice and full bodied (wonder if it was the local brand?) I would like to try again sometime, as there were several good choices for brunch. Staff were very pleasant and friendly.

Came here for my mums 60th and was absolutely blown away with the stunning views and location. Not only that, but I was very impressed with the the staff who were very friendly and worked well together, even in high pressure situations. The pizza and food was top notch, although it probably could've been distributed a bit more evenly to the other tables, but apart from that, I definitely give it a 10/10 and would recommend to anyone

The mushrooms benedict was nice, and the eggs benedict had the makings of a good meal but I paid either $3 or $5 (I can't remember exactly) for what turned out to be a single slice of bacon, and with such a small amount of hollandaise and no butter on dry toast (?!) the meal was a bit dry and difficult to enjoy. The views from the building are excellent, and I love that it's run on renewable energy, but I don't think I'll be returning.

Great range & deliciousness of cabinet food. Excellent coffee. Prompt and friendly service. Reasonable outside seating, plenty inside. Toilets clean. You can buy their own brand sauces & chutneys.

Great view. Live music. Fresh food and good value for money. Don't take any notice of the reviews of 3 or less. They review but not from their brains. They live but not from their sols.

Not only do they have great food, awesome views and friendly staff, the owners also support various community groups. We have a monthly meeting of about 10 mothers and their babies in the back room, for about 3 years now. We really appreciate their generosity, giving us a discount on drinks and on the occasional cake when we have a special celebration.

Family with two young kids. Spotted this place from a traveling family blog. Kids area out back is awesome. Toys and a playground out back where families can eat and not worry about having yuppies give them dirty looks ;) The food was fairly pricy but nothing any different from most standard cafe/eateries. Great standard and lots on the plate. We would definitely come back!

Great beer/wine garden. Green, leafy and shaded spots to sit outside. Amazing views from every spot inside and out. If you can grab a seat on the deck near the entry you've won the lottery for views

It's a popular spot with travellers and locals alike. Their version of 'the kiwi big breakfast' delicious although the menu is slightly on the pricey side. Nice views from either the front or back decks and a funky almost nautical vibe inside.

Went there for breakfast with the rising sun and wow what an experience! Food was outstandingly delicious, would highly recommend the hash - mashed potatoes covered in bread crumbs and lightly deep fried. Very different and unique which stands out from the rest.

Enjoyed the experience! The staff member who took our order was knowledgeable and genuinely friendly. With a great view and lots of seating options this is a great place for a coffee or bite to eat.

I nice cafe with good views, friendly staff and a choice of couches or table and chairs to sit at. They offer free WiFi for those who want to get through some emails or a casual business meeting while enjoying a coffee or bite to eat.

Had lunch here with my family. Staff were very friendly and had a nice wine list. We had the seafood platter which was tasty but a bit on the small side.

The staff we encountered were exceptionally nice and friendly. We were looking for coeliac options and I was impressed that they seemed to understand that coeliac is different from gluten free. There is a nice outdoor area if weather is ok. Fit out looks a little old and tired but the views make up for that if you get a spot by a window.

Booked for a group of 14 on friday night.The room looked nice and the food was lovely but the service... No-one offered to come to the table so that we could order our meals from there and we would have spent even more if they had.Meals of course came in dribs and drabs. At 9.10 when we went to order more drinks we were told that the bar was closed. We would have spent about another $100 and were told that we had already been warned about the bar being closed but no-one knew. Since we had already spent about $600 I would have thought we were worth staying open for.Thank god we didnt have overseas guests or people from town with us.They would have thought it most peculiar on a friday night. Next time we will request table service and check re closing time

Beautiful glutenfree muffin which is hard to come by. Coffee excellent. I had an almond milk which is also hard to perfect.

Getting the SIMPLE dishes RIGHT is actually the more difficult of challenges....especially when it involves delicacies such as cooking fresh squid. Solar's Lady chef HAS that delicate touch....THE BEST salt & pepper squid that I have had in years. She GETS IT. In so doing Solar benefits and customers too. GREAT selection of local Waiheke Island and NZ regional offerings that were wisely chosen and sensibly priced. It was a pleasure to visit them and to recommend them. Poppa Vince MacDonald

The place is ok, it's slightly expensive and the fries aren't that good it's about the only place that does that kind of thing in Oneroa though, could be better
