Set in Palmers Garden Centre, the Chocolate Frog Cafe is an idyllic setting, convincing me that every garden Centre should have a cafe - or vice versa. I went for the corn fritters which were delicious, perfectly matched with halloumi. I would give top marks but unfortunately my coffee was extremely bitter.

We had a lovely lunch here, great spot in Eastern Suburbs. The cafe is in Palmer's Garden Centre, so handy for a browse/purchase afterwards, to walk off lunch. The 5 of us all had different lunch meals, and all of us very happy with them. They have a good choice of meals, and cabinet food. I enjoyed a lime milkshake with my lunch. There is also a big beautiful gift shopping area, great inspiration ideas... Choice place 😍

4 of us go to “chocolate frog” approx monthly from Upper Hutt. The food is always up to a high standard. What really makes the visit so good is the staff. My niece is in a wheelchair and they always make sure we have good seating so we can all fit. They are always so friendly and look after us well.

Iced coffee was great but my grilled fish salad expensive, small and basic (tasty though). Took an age to get food, but they were inially pretty busy.

We have been looking for breakfast/brunch places that doesn't just serve your usual breakfast/brunch stuff. This place has inventive choices and they are amazing. Decent choices on cabinet food and also serves decent coffee. Space can be a little tight considering this seems to be a popular place.

Great moral, super delicious and tasty scramble eggs on bread with side salad. This was the best scrambled eggs I've ever tasted. Thank you for serving the delicious lunch today. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Awesome food selection including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free choices. Been there number of times. Always provides same outstanding service.

Value for $. Friendly professional staff. Good variety of gf food available. We went at 8.30am. At that time it was easy to get a table.

The food here was great. The Eggs Benedict we're very tasty, and the beef mince was fantastic. They also have great desserts and coffees, plenty variations of cakes and pastries. Definitely recommend their chocolate mousse cake. The restaurant itself is located inside the store to the left. They have a small indoor and outdoor area. Definitely recommend for a tasty breakfast, brunch, or lunch.

Delicious, amazing food. Exactly what you want even if you couldn't imagine it. Coffee is fantastic. The atmosphere is relaxed without being boring. The signs are funny and the staff are fantastic! We were offered a high chair because we were holding our baby which was really thoughtful and helpful. All in all the perfect spot for brunch, especially on a sunny day but it's covered for all weather

Bit of a regular at this place for meetings. Their hot chocolates are fantastic. Don’t often dine here, but used our entertainment book recently and wasn’t disappointed. Very tasty steak sandwiches. May have to eat here more often.

Nice meals in a lovely atmosphere. We were lucky to have lunch in the Gazebo with the 5 year old grand kid excited about the fish swimming around !!

You can usually tell by how busy a restaurant is, it was packed and a queue formed. Great selection on menu, large variety of very yum looking desserts and treats, even muffins that appealed to children. Pleasant staff although worked off their feet. Definitely worth a try!

All staff here are amazing they deserve medals. It’s an extremely busy place on weekends but the friendliness and smiles never falter. Thank you to the kind staff member who found my grand daughter a high chair yesterday during her melt down 🤗 The food is so tasty, fresh and there is a lot of variety. One of my fav cafes and I drive from across town to visit it when I can.

The Chocolate Frog has consistently great food and a lovely staff. I most recently had the breakfast bagel and it was perfection. The bacon butty and fish breakfast are also delicious.

This is a favourite for the kids and is equally great for the adults. There's quite a range of options for both quick snacks or prolonged lunches. Being attached to Palmer's is an advantage, both for the shopping and for the play area with the trampoline.

Couscous salad was to die for. My partner and I were first time visitors he had the all day breakfast and cappuccino. I had the iced chocolate. Was an amazing experience the staff were friendly and attentive well done. Sorry I gave my sparrow friend a tidbit but got away with doing the dishes. Highly recommend this spot to anyone

Good food. Plenty of seats overlooking plants for sale but, did not like sparrows around tables, or picking at left food before tables cleared.

There was a good selection of food, at least three things that I would have happily ordered. It was a cold and wet day so the eggs royale were particularly good, with generous amounts of salmon and spinach.

Good selection of cabinet food options and a well priced menu selection with generious portions. The tables and chairs are basic but cleverly disguised by quirky designs and sayings painted on them. The only negative I have is the staff presentation. It appears the in thing for all the young women to be adorned with face piercings and the worst hair colouring imaginable. They look like hairdressers worst failures. This combination is a distraction as it does not present an image I associate with good food preparation skills and service. While I support self expression however in a work situation, what I want is staff that identify with the customer base which is mostly 30 plus, happy to give a friendly smile and good service When I last wrote a review the manager response suggested I may wish to try somewhere else and we have, just around the corner is the Roxy, now currently our daily stop for coffee and snack fix, plus ther are two others which we have yet to try.

Great cakes/slices/tarts and possibly the best iced coffee I've ever had. On a warm day can be a bit hot inside but they usually have fans running. Quite a few high chairs available for young kids.

Well the positive things: The food, especially the breakfasts are really good. The bad things: The service can be shocking. We ordered some counter cabinet food for takeaway and they made us wait about 20 minutes while they completed all of the other table orders first. I guess they don't understand how to do takeaways. Then when we were slightly annoyed at having to wait the blond girl who served us gave us a really snarky and rude 'your welcome'. Disappointing that the staff let down a usually good quality cafe.

I'm usually dubious of Cafe's attached to other shops, but I cannot say enough good things about this place. The food is great and they have keto options if you're that way inclined, the staff are friendly and service is quick. Plenty of seating inside and out (covered). Would recommend this place to anyone who finds themselves over that end of the city.

Always good as a local cafe. Coffee s take a bit too long though, usually we have eaten everything we choose to accompany the coffee before it gets to the table.

Man, the keto brekkie, with a side of bacon, just superb. Coffee was excellent. Cheesecake, excellent. You guys are at the top of my top brunch list in Miramar. Love it.

A lovely local meeting spot nestled in the corner of Palmers Nursery. A little more expensive than comparable cafes especially considering the prosaic pedestrian outfit and suburban quirky decor. Birds land and cheekily look for an offering left behind on uncleared tables and staff are pleasant but lacking organisation. Large slabs of delicious cakes and an original menu with daily specials make this worthy of repeat custom, however not the place to bring a date if you want to impress.

Stunning food with especially good service. Located in an excellent area with ample parking. Cant recommend highly enough.. my favorite is the beautiful eggs Benedict washed down with a delicious smoothy.. also the coffee is spot on.

It's fresh and fabulous great food and coffee. Industrial decor everyone welcome friendly staff. Busy very little wait time. Loved it especially the whitebait. Come and see for yourself you will be glad you did.

Busy cafe in conjunction with Palmers Garden centre Prices good. Range of food good as is the service. Parking outside also good. Main disadvantage is the noise. Chairs scrape on concrete or and with the low ceiling can be very noisy Worth a visit

Been here a few times now, always for coffee and cake, and never been disappointed. Good coffee, interesting cakes and slices, lovely staff, and a handy location when waiting for a plane or looking for a plant.

Great little hidden away gem. The food is very reasonably priced for the quality and the staff are lovely. The soup of the day is always super nice and priced at $9 for a cup, you can't go wrong

Very good food and coffee. Servers just need to remember to make a note of the table numbers on the order. They're continually delivering orders to the wrong tables (same on 3 visits now.)

Gardens and food - great combination.

This place has everything you need! You could easily spend an entire afternoon here, with delicious food, an excellent gift shop and an even better nursery. There's a playground for kids and a huge variety of plants and gardening equipment

I often take my daughter here on a Monday for a fluffy treat. Staff always super nice and their ginger shape biscuits are the best.

The service was friendly and the food tasted fantastic. The decor was at once amusing and suitable, and the overall theme of the place was the same. They clearly take pride in their coffee, and it shows.

My favorite cafe in New Zealand, mum and dad always took us here. They used to have the best lasagna, last visit they didn't make it anymore.
