F.French toast was the go to here. The orange citrus went very well with the sweet maple syrup, bacon and egg. Great customer service and espresso and mocha were also perfect, will return here when visiting Wellington.
E.Red rabbit coffee, aka the best coffee (oat flat white) made perfectly.
Smaller menu but decent portions. The whole table enjoyed every last bit of it.

A.I remember reading the Stuff news article about the new owners at Goldmine. It sounded promising. Then the article about how the burst sewage pipe impacted their business last year. So these prompts to find out for myself and support a local business seemed a no brainer. Wasn't disappointed. The friendly and warm greeting from the dude behind the counter bode well. The coffee was great. Nice touch was sparkling water for the table. And the Eggs Benedict was simply superb. The poached eggs were freshly made, the garnishing of baby rocket was a solid touch and the pan fried asparagus took this dish into the category of being the best eggs bennie I have ever tasted! I'll be back....

O.Omg, this is amazing spot to have breakfast and brunch. I had a French Omelette with smoked fish. And the coffee beans are great!

R.Cheese Scone Review : Traditional kiwi cheese scone, tastes like your mother would have made.
No herbs or cayenne, quite a lot of cheese. Dense floury. Looks like it was rolled and cut round. No real exterior crunch. Competent for its type of scone, but not one I'd repeat.

The coffee was excellent as were the mushrooms and the pancakes. Friendly staff and nice venue.

S.Just enjoyed a wonderful lunch with friends. We all had something different off the menu and each enjoyed our meals. The food was beautifully presented, a little bit different and very tasty. We loved the decor and the staff were all very friendly and well presented. Next time I'm in Wellington I'd definitely eat here again!

Yes some people don't give good reviews when a restaurant can't change scrambled eggs to poached given you actually make poached eggs

D.I'll admit it - I only knew about this place because it had been in the newspaper because of the coronavirus stuff and water pipe burst nearby.
It is well worth the visit, well worth your time and money! Quality food and great coffee. I had an exceptionally delightful lemon tart and friendly service and a great vibe at the cafe. Definitely worth your while. The owners and staff care, and it shows!

For an out of the way place it requires more visits and they sell black pudding here also. The black pudding was really nice and tasty. This is a great find and certainly required more visits to get a feel for more on the menu.

S.Tried the trust-the-chef dinner and was one of the best meals we have had in ages. The sashimi had an excellent combinations of flavours, and the steak in the main was cooked perfectly with complementary sides. Our friend who doesn't like mushrooms even enjoyed the field mushrooms, and refused to give them to their partner! Would recommend and definitely go again.

We went 2 days in a row for breakfast. Bacon is crispy and perfect poached eggs. 2nd morning I had the muslie with poached pear.. sooo good!

J.Great big breakfast in a relaxed space that I was familiar with from it's previous life. My partner raved about the pancakes and coffee was perfect. All in all highly recommend! Can't wait till the construction stops outside so it's a bit more chill.

E.It's taken me awhile to get here, but boy was it worth the wait! A cozy little spot just on the corner of Ghuznee and Willis St, this spot does a fantastic scrambled eggs on toast to help you get your sunday brunch fix!
A.I'm a regular here because I haven't found better granola anywhere else. My favourite is the fresh fruit, coconut yogurt and maple syrup combo. Unpretentious but still pretty hip. The food is at a great price point too.

P.Excellent coffee, friendly efficient service tasty fresh cooked food all be it menu is very limited. The Ruben is very good as is the sauteed mushrooms and vegetable stack with poached egg or eggs on toast. Only gripe is that they only have chilli sauce, have resorted to taking rocket fuel with me when I eat there. Also decour is industrial, which I like but may not be to some people's taste. Especially if you like sofas and easy chairs

R.A relatively new cafe on the Wellington scene opening circa Oct 18 but has quickly earned a sound reputation based on its good food range, efficient and pleasant staff, chic decor and laid back and calm atmosphere - great place to go for casual business meetings - I wanted a hot ham croissant and Americano for breakfast and somewhere to relax in relative quietness and found the goldmine to be excellent and perfect for what I was looking for. Its a handy spot on the corner of Willis and Dixon streets, and has great natural light on both street fronts - all in all everything that I expected and will certainly visit again.
J.Coffee is normally a good here. We have turned this into our local for team meetings as good local and vibe plus seating allows for all of us.
Cabinet food is also pretty good.

Ordered 1 flat white, 1 cold flat white and 1 cola six barrel sodas for drink.
For flat white, it was absolutely perfect. The combination of shots and milk was well balanced and temperature and milk froth was fantastic!
Never thought cold flat white but they make it! If u r into coffee, must try it! Will experience sth new!
For the main, took soba noodle salad with extra kimchi and balance bowl. Both were way yummy! Once I tasted it, couldn’t stop eating it.
Definitely come back again!!
H.Hipster cafe with hipster barista and chef. Serving homemade brekky, brunch, treats and of course, coffee. Black $4, White $4.50, sandwiches $8, etc. good for groups. Outdoor seating available. Can get busy throughout the day.

A.We came in here for a coffee and a chai latte earlyish on a Saturday morning and it was really good. The staff were pleasant and the premises were clean and comfortable. It is a really nice cafe, and the staff were really happy.
