Lovely food (Sage fried eggs a taste explosion). Coffee temperature a little on the cool side, especially if you didn't drink it as soon as it was served. Plenty of umbrellas up in the sunny courtyard.

A hip little spot in the middle of a nice central location. Their mochaccino was topped with some shaved chocolate as opposed to cocoa powder, and it tasted great. Their pancakes and bacon were nice and fluffy. It's a good little place if you want a small table and good service. It is partially open, so you get a nice breeze.

This place is super cozy! You feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet it is actually located in the heart of the city. Various options for the high quality foods and they can cater for GF and DF. Reasonable price and friendly staffs. Highly recommend!

The kedregee is delicious and well-worth a visit here, but you shouldn't miss the ceviche. Excellent coffee and a very tart and refreshing lemonade make perfect accompaniments.

Went for the try Asado night and it was fantastic! Everything was delicious, with a special shout out to the amazing "pizza pork". Really enjoyable night with a lovely atmosphere, would really recommend for trying something a little different. We left absolutely stuffed, there's plenty food available, with seconds of quite a few things!

Cheese Scone Review : A vertically challenged scone, and yet intentionally so, proud to be different. More of a flatbread, first impression was a slice of very cheesed French toast. I nearly needed a scalpel to peel back a layer and get some butter in. High quality butter that Mainland. I've never seen 4 separate cow pats in a butter container, nice touch. The scone contains Italian flat leaved parsley and LOTS of it, the dominant flavour. Slightly crispy exterior. Nice texture, some air pockets which is good. Not too much salt. Quite a nice finish. I feel it could benefit from a bit more cheese, more crispness and slightly less parsley, but overall very good 74/100

I am pleased to say that the new owners of Nikau Cafe have smoothed things out and resolved a couple of early issues. The new new staff are attentive and professional. My meal was great. I downed an impressively presented pancake that was as tasty as it looked. Well done!

What a welcoming place to stay after a long day of bicycle touring. We soaked up the last rays of the autumn sun on the large porch drinking a delicious brew of Nikau Cafe coffee. Anne and Phillip were consummate hosts delivering a tasty wholesome evening meal and a cosy bed behind the office during our overnight stay. We plan on coming back again!

Good coffee, super friendly staffs, good place to have a little chat with friends. I visit Nikau almost weekly with friends and their little children. Even with kids around, their staffs can keep their cool when the kids spills this and that, we parents appreciate that. Thank you, you are all awesome! Fluffy for kids only 0.50 that is just very cheap comparing to other coffee shop around cbd. I love their turmeric latte, and of course the coffee that always great. They have the best cheese scone in the city, donuts of the day and cookies are favorite to the kids.

I had the most amazing dinner at Nikau Cafe with my friends on Friday night. We were all very pleased with the quality of the food and service. I would totally recommend dinner here, especially the garlic mussels starter, and the chicken, sirloin steak and ravioli paua main dishes. The new owners are also great and extremely welcoming! I look forward to going back to try their breakfast/brunch menu.

Gotta say I had the tastiest/prettiest supreme coffee and the kedgeree is still the best in the country! very good service, though I missed the happy/friendly vibe that use to rule Nikau.

Have been here often last year and it was always good. Really loved the Kedgeree and hot chocolate here. It became one of my favorite cafes in Wellington. Even though the prices are quite high. Still highly recommend! The art gallary is just next door.

The food was amazing. Small dishes but then we did order the starters so probably can't complain. Ordered 5 of them and a desert between 2 and it was enough. The service wasn't bad given they were almost completely packed. It was hard to get some attention when there was a massive queue of people lining up to pay at the till (it's the NZ way!)

It's been a long time between visits, but it won't be long before I go back. They have a fantastic brunch menu with plenty of variety. Gorgeous looking treats in the cabinet and friendly efficient service. We both had the kimchi frittata and thoroughly enjoyed it.
