Pointe Central studio is a really great, supportive environment in which to learn ballet. The studio owner and teacher Briony Martin is highly qualified and experienced and an ex-professional international ballet dancer herself. She is constantly upgrading her teaching skills and knowledge in line with the latest developments and thinking. She is just the right mix of particular and fun in class! Briony is 100% dedicated to bringing out the best in every one of her students, whether beginner adults, nervous child, aspiring professional or syllabus teen. She also (!) is a brilliant choreographer for competition dances and creates as many in-studio or on-stage opportunities as possible with visiting coaches and professional companies. Wānaka is very lucky to have Pointe Central!

Briony is an amazing ballet teacher, a beautiful dancer and a kind caring person. My daughter loves her lessons and competition work with Briony and I also do adult ballet with Briony and it’s the highlight of my week. Pointe Central is a kind and positive learning environment which creates a high standard of exceptional dancers. Briony is a former professional dancer so this ensures that students are taught by someone with a wealth of knowledge and first hand experience both on and off the stage. Briony is an amazing choreographer and puts a lot of love and care into everything she does. We love Pointe Central and being part of the PC family and would recommend it to anyone interested in pursuing a high level of classical ballet dancing from small kids to advanced dancers.
