I went to see Haydn today to sort out a few issues I had, mainly pain on a tooth that has a root canal. The experience was great, Haydn asked me a few questions, listened to my answers attentively, checked my teeth and got some x-rays. After this we discussed a plan to fix the different issues step by step. I am really happy with his approach and coming back next week to start the process. Looking forward to it! Thanks Team! I have had 2 appointments with Haydn after the initial one. 1- He fixed a tricky filling on one of my front teeth which now looks great! 2- I also had an initial appointment to do a root canal as one of my teeth was very sore. I felt no pain at all during the procedure and now the tooth pain I had before seeing him is all gone! I am really happy about the results! Cheers Marcos

I got my wisdom teeth removed a few days ago, which I was pretty nervous and anxious about. However, everything went so smoothly! I hadn't been to the dentist for over two years. I had been putting it off, but finally made the decision to go. I contacted Blockhouse Bay Dental and booked an appointment with Rebecca the hygienist. She was great. She made the experience easy. Then I made an appointment to see Dr (Peter) Raymond for a check up and two fillings (which I knew I needed) but didn't want to do. Dr Raymond was great. He made me feel at ease and comfortable and we just got on and did it. I'm very happy with the whole process. I wish I had done it sooner! It was very easy to book as they have online bookings as well as receptionists who are lovely and try to accommodate you as much as possible. Had severe tooth pain over night, call them and saw me the same day. Unfortunately a root canal was needed (1st one ever), explained the process in a calm and professional manner. Absolutely incredible team. I had real issues with going to the dentist and had ignored it for many years. Then I tried to ignore for longer as its embarrassing and you don't want to be judged. I finally had to admit that I had to go, and when I go to the clinic I was feeling very apprehensive and wanted to run for the door ! I had a tooth out this morning after months of pain - it took about five minutes and I didn't feel a thing. Amazing. Very kind and gentle dentists who really want to help you have a healthy mouth.

As a new patient, the Staff at Blockhouse Bay Dental Centre were prompt and professional. Good communication and listening skills. Both the Dental Surgeon, Dr Haydn Gray and the Oral Health Therapist, Kinjal Divech were patient in answering my questions, offering up-to-date advice on treatment, preventative care, latest technology and costs without being too technical. They were knowledgeable in their field explaining each step before proceeding during treatment which enabled me to feel relaxed. Although the office is upstairs if you have a mobility issue, it had a welcoming atmosphere being greeted by friendly staff on arrival who were helpful. Being a Senior, it was reassuring to see health & safety practice in place with signs promoting hygiene practices and social distancing. A large tv in place of magazines in the waiting area screening the latest innovations in dental technology was educational. There is a 1 hour carpark outside the building and plenty of on street public parking in a quiet street. Location is convenient with Labtests downstairs next to an accountant office, gas station and pharmacy / retail / supermarket across the road. Overall, I didn’t feel rushed, uncomfortable during treatment or pressured into making on the spot decisions for future treatments. It was also good to share a few laughs with Staff to make you feel at ease.

Great visit, new tech! I admit I was a little apprehensive about my checkup and cleaning, because I dislike the cold water blaster thingy... but there is a new option!! Thank you so much to Kinjal Divech for walking me through the new AIRFLOW technology and doing a great job. It was fast, comfortable, and did the job. Excellent new technology, a real game changer!

I had a mouth guard fitted and made through Peter Raymond's surgery. This is the second one I had made after having my first mouth guard for many years which needed to be replaced when I got a new dental fitting. I use the mouth guard when I play the Clarinet, it stops the inside bottom lip from getting sore from teeth pressure when applied to the reed on the mouthpiece. I wanted a smaller mouth guard this time and fortunately with the help of Peter we came up with the right size. The smaller mouthpiece is so much better, giving me more response and control over the sound, which will allow me to develop a more refined technique. Its worth its weight in Gold! So pleased!

On Sunday morning my front top tooth broke. It was a previously repaired broken tooth. On Monday morning I rang the Centre hoping that it could be repaired immediately. I was asked if I could come in at 9.40am. I said ‘yes’. The tooth was repaired and I am very pleased with the result. I think this was excellent service during level 3 in Lockdown. Cheers to Haydn.

I highly recommend this dental practice. My initial phone contact with reception was professional, informative, warm and friendly. Upon arrival for my first appointment, I was once again impressed with the welcoming and helpful reception staff. Assessment and treatment of my urgent dental issue was conducted by Dr Gray, who discussed my options and kept me informed throughout the procedure in a highly professional and reassuring manner. I've put off visiting the dentist for years but I am now a complete convert thanks to this local clinic. The service from the reception is amazing but the service from the dentists and nurses truly are brilliant! The consultation session gave me exact work, timeline and cost with no surprises... Other than the fact there was never any pain! Whatever voodoo they use ensures you don't feel injections and they constantly monitor and check to see you are ok and handling things well. I truly can't recommend them enough.

I had my teeth cleaned early this month. I must say it’s the best hygiene I have done so far among my experiences both in New Zealand and overseas. Due to COVID I had my teeth hygiene delayed for a while. When I was looking for a good dental Center I came across with BHB dental which had very high score. I then looked up their website, it’s so good they have whole team listed with detailed background. I chose Rebecca Chi who I found was very professional and efficient. She also pointed out the correct way to use dental floss Which have done for so many years. This morning when I looked at my teeth I really love the way my gum feels . It’s so healthy now! I have never been to a dentist in my whole life. Visited the Blockhouse Bay Dental Centre because of a broken tooth. I was so nervous as I didn't know what to expect. The moment I stepped into the clinic, I was welcomed by Paula and Debbie at the Reception. I instantly felt relaxed. Both of them are warm and welcoming. Dr Jacy Lin was the first dentist I have ever had in my life and I want her to be my dentist for the rest of my life. She is warm, welcoming, calming, professional and very very helpful. I was worried about the cost so she provided me with different solutions, as well as explained to me the differences between them. Throughout my treatment, she was there to comfort me and patiently explained to me how everything works. I felt I was being cared for and well looked after. Dr Lin and Amber are a dream team. Seeing those two ladies working their magic was the best part of my visit (I almost forgot that I had a broken tooth haha). I know I am not suppose to write an essay here but I am just so happy with my visit and I can not be more grateful (I can eat steak again with no pain no troubles!) . I know the team at BBDC may think they were just doing their job, but for someone who has never visited a dentist before, what you guys did are just magical and it should be acknowledge and thanked. So again, thank you so much for everyone who helped me, welcomed me and treated me that day. You guys are the BEST!!!!!!

I had 2 of my impacting wisdom teeth removed by Dr Peter Raymond. The whole team on the day were so incredibly calm and reassuring that all would be okay... and it was! The follow up care and phone call was muchly appreciated just to ask a few more questions. I’d do it again for the other 2 teeth if I could.... however Dr Peter has my best interest at heart and will refer me to a specialist.

I needed 3 fillings, also previous dental work carried out at A&E lincoln road was also not up to standard. I was a little nervous due to previous experiences at the dentist however my fears were swiftly put to rest. Absolutely love this place. I have a phobia of dentists and anything related to it. However after my first appointment which I really had to push myself to go, I'm super happy with how I was treated. Overdue feedback/review! Visited the dentist for the first time in April earlier this year after years of not seeing one. I felt really daunted and worried about seeing the dentist, but on arrival at bbdc the lovely receptionist Debbie had prepared a note for me to read (I am deaf and informed them of that prior to arrival). It really did take all unnecessary anxiety and embarrassment away before I saw the dentist. Great example of someone going above what’s expected. I have been seeing Dr Peter Raymond for the past few months over a few dental issues. I’m honestly very impressed with his and his dental assistant’s professionalism and care. He’s a very approachable, honest and straightforward dentist. Always ensures that treatments you receive from him and his team are to the highest standard possible and best suitable for your needs. He never rushes into unnecessary treatments. Always examines your dental problems very carefully and thoroughly to properly identify and determine a diagnosis prior to commencement of treatments. Never been put in any pain during the procedures, always puts me at ease. Now I know I can walk into his clinic feeling easy and reassured. The quality of his and his team’s work and dental care is amazing and unique. His dental clinic is highly recommended.

I found my first visit to the practice very informative and engaging. But and unfortunately there is a but, i would have appreciated being informed my teeth were NOT going to be cleaned prior to the dentist looking at them. I was advised after my check up i would have to make another appointment with the hygienist to have my teeth cleaned. I was not happy. This is the first time at a dental practice i have not had a clean done on the initial visit. Maybe this is something you need to inform new patients of going forward.

So after a wee hiatus (I thought I'd try a more local dentist but these guys really are worth the drive) I have been coming back to Peter the Dentist and Rebecca the hygienist. On my first visit after 'the break' they both recommended I switch to an electric toothbrush and I wish I had done it sooner. But no-one had ever explained the benefits the way these two did. Peter is clearly very good at what he does, he explains things very well and he doesn't just find something wrong for the sake of it. This is a modern practice. As an author, what a bonus to learn about her love of picture books, how she relishes reading to her children, how she loves bringing the stories to life with animated voices. How inspiring to learn about her special teacher from primary school who influenced the way she now reads books. These insights were like treasure amongst the madness and I have every confidence Rose could strike the right chord, whatever your interest, leaving you richer for the experience. Well done team, your service is exceptional. And pssst … they’re definitely worthy of five stars: somehow they convinced me to get back in the chair for more of the same after only two weeks!

Peter replaced my old amalgam filling on my 6 year old molar with a ceramic crown this week. I cannot fault his expertise on pain relief ( excellent oral anesthetic).
