By far the best dentist I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. I came across Natural smile by luck, it had been a while since I'd seen a dentist and while looking I received a flyer through the letterbox. Upon my first phone call everything went smooth. Firstly is the communication, always clear & honest. When I had my initial consult with Dave 2.5 years back I felt at ease with everything and never felt under pressure. One of my first appointments was having a crown. As it was my first ever crown I was very nervous but being able to get everything done in one day was amazing. Dave even has the machine in house that designs the new tooth(Crown) so being able to watch the process was very professional. Secondly Dave enabled me to pay weekly prior to the appointments which made it easier to afford. Lastly I thought it was a great addition to see before and after photos of each tooth to show the change. The experience & professionalism in this practice is nothing less than 5 star.

I was recommended to Natural Smile by a family member after asking around for a local friendly Dental Practice. Dr Dave and the team at Natural Smile have created a clinic with an unwavering level of care and put me at ease immediately. I was relieved to have Dr Dave set out a treatment plan for me to help prioritize the work I needed, balancing the costings associated with the work really helped me stay on top of what was a (dentist wise) neglected set of teeth. I have since had numerous procedures from fillings, hygienist cleaning to a root canal and the overall experience has been pretty much pain free and always with the end goal to preserve my teeth's lifespan and integrity. During the past two years covid pandemic, Natural Smiles professional communications and level of care has been as consistent and caring as its pre-covid care. I would recommend this dental practice and Dr Dave to anyone across Auckland.

I was recommended to visit Natural Smile when I was having issues with a metal crown. Dr Dave and Lisa were wonderful throughout the whole procedure, talking me through each step of the process. I couldn't believe the difference in service between my initial crown procedure overseas and the replacement procedure. I broke a crown while in quarantine in Auckland and had a small window of time to get it fixed before heading to the Bay of Islands. After researching and reading reviews I felt quite comfortable with this dentistry and made an appointment. Every step of the way, the process went smoothly from the check-in at the front desk to the making of a new crown in less than an hour. Dave was superb, explaining everything he was about to do and gave me a full review of what I should do for ongoing maintenance of my teeth. Would highly recommend to anyone whether for a crown or any other treatment and I don't make recommendations lightly.

Dave, Stacey, Natasha, and Rebecca excel in customer service, professionalism, and care. My wife and I both needed to find a dentist for our routine check ups after relocating to NZ . Dave's team took great care of us. For my treatment Dave took the time to understand what my expectations were first, then provided great advice on the work that was required. In the end I needed to have a crown replaced which Dave took care of this week. Dave and his team throughout the journey have been able to keep great contact around appointments (in particular with the varying COVID alert levels - Dave even personally calling me when we had to move an appt), Rebecca was also caring and provided a great service. Dave is the best dentist I have been to hands down. He genuinely cares about the long term health of your teeth and sets out careful plans for how to tackle any problems that come up. He never forces any judgement on you and always considers your opinion and circumstances. He makes excellent use of modern technologies to analyse and track the health of your teeth. He takes photos of before and after and keeps a thorough history to refer to when you come in. It is informative and makes you feel like you are always getting cared for. I have had two crowns done here. Love the method, highly recommend it. Thanks to Dr Dave Richards (crown #3) and Dr Ernie Park (crown #4). Also had teeth very well cleaned by Rebecca Woledge. I would never go back to the old fashioned method. My first two crowns were done elsewhere and the process involved two weeks with a temporary crown and it was not nice. Natural smile has the latest and greatest technology which actually makes the process of getting a crown very manageable for wimps. :-) One appointment which includes decent coffee while the crown is created on site. Awesome.

I must admit that after the terror and pain of going through the dental clinic era during the 1950's where drills were treadle belt driven by the nurse who tore away half the tooth and there was no water cooling, no local anesthetic but were massive amalgam fillings ,who could blame me for being hesitant of ever going to a dentist again. Even now the smell of burning meths sends me into a cold clammy sweat. But after a number of years of neglect, broken fillings etc, I was forced to front up to my very founded fears and find a dentist. On recommendation I went to Natural Smile. After summoning up the courage, I hesitantly opened the door. First impressions were awesome; extremely modern, clean, and fresh. The staff were very friendly and engaging (the modern blokes magazines a bonus). And guess what? No smell of burning meths!! Then there's Dave. What a man! An action man in a white coat. His very easy professional manner would put anyone at ease. Dave explained exactly what needed to be done, and what the process involved. This modern surgery has all the up to date equipment you could imagine. I even think Dave knew my favourite music. Unlike 1958, no nurses in white dresses and red cardigans here. These excellent nurses are a part of Dave's professional team. During my appointment, Dave's attention to the smallest detail was evident, even to the point of carefully hand painting my new porcelain tooth so it exactly matched the others.....amazing!! Anyone can see that dentistry is more than a profession for Dave, it's an artform and a passion. You and your entire team are a credit to the dentistry profession Dave. Take a bow!! I've just returned from having several fillings done by Dave, and I honestly can't recommend him enough. His attention to detail is to be commended- my teeth have never looked this good (this is also down to Rebecca too- I've never had such a thorough teeth cleaning before). What makes Dave stand out is how gentle his procedures are. There's a reason why my husband and I call him "Dave the wizard"! I am not a fan of needles at all, but the injection scratch is so minimal and the anaesthetic barely stings- for this I'm immensely grateful. He will show you photos of before, during and after the treatment which is fascinating- and leaves you with zero doubt that it's absolutely worth the time, money and effort to go and have it done.

I found Dave and Rebecca through Google reviews. Their five star rating is well earned. Dave cleared out a bunch of old metal work and fixed some cracks forming around it. He replaced this with nice white fillings, explained that these new fillings would actually strengthen the teeth by bonding the remaining tooth together. He also added preventative fissure seals in a few spots and solved a bite problem that was wearing away the back of my incisors. I’m not scared of dentists but for those that are, you may rest assured, there was no pain. Rebecca, on the hygienist side, polished everything up and I will be happy to be on a routine schedule there. The clinic is immaculately clean, very new and they’ve clearly invested a good amount in the latest kit. That makes a practical difference, I required less scaling from the hygienist and no nasty drilling from the dentist as they both had gentler options available.

I was very impressed with Dave and his team. I hate injections and to be honest I didn't feel a thing. For me that is a huge bonus as pain at the dentist was my biggest nightmare but Dave has changed that for good. I even got photos of my teeth so I could see the improvements. I had to have two crowns replace cracked teeth due to old amalgam fillings. The whole procedure was virtually painless and after 3 hours I have two beautiful new teeth that you cannot tell that they are not real. The technology is amazing and the professionalism that David and his staff display leaves you feeling very confident of a job well done. I'm coming back in the New Year to have all my old amalgam fillings replaced so that I hopefully won't have the same happen again.

Suddenly needing dentistry work again after our previous dentist stopped practicing, Natural Smile Eastmed Dental had informed us they had purchased the business there. I have had almost a year's worth of work done in 2017 with them and have not been at all disappointed. I recently had a crown fitted at Natural Smile Eastmed Dental. It was prepared, measured, designed and fabricated in one appointment of 90 mins. I marveled at the machine as I watched my porcelain crown being made but was equally impressed by the skill of the dentist in preparing the information it needed. Dr Dave Richards is gentle, careful, thorough and precise, explaining throughout your appointment what he is doing and displaying your personal history, programme and pricing on a screen. The other staff of this practice are pleasant and efficient as well. Indeed I found I almost enjoyed the appointment with this dentist as I lay back, watched the television on the ceiling and had no qualms whatsoever because I knew I was in good hands.

Nobody likes going to the dentist so when I was forced I chose Dave Richard's new set up at Eastmed and with much fear and trepidation and some pain happening in I walked. Awesome experience at a new dentist. Finally found a friendly team I can trust to give me the right advice. I though I was going to need a wisdom tooth pulled but Dr Dave advised it wasn’t impacting with another tooth and may only need some minor gum removal around it. I'd like to thank Dave and his entire team for the extensive dental work, which you have just completed for me. We both knew that I am not a good patient. When I was younger, I experienced pain at the hands of dentists and as a consequence, i've been quite reluctant to visit even for check ups, neglecting my teeth despite knowing dental health is very important to one's general well-being. However, I found that the anticipation of my appointments was far worse than the reality and with your considerable expertise and care, the work I needed was without pain and any real discomfort. I know you use the most modern equipment and techniques and that really does result in a pleasant experience – your practice rooms are light and airy and the noises from the drills which ive so hated in the past are considerably reduced. All your team members are understanding and very skilled with anxious patients. In fact, every aspect of a visit to your practice is so much better than i've faced in the past.

Like many people, I had a genuine fear of dentistry, based upon stressful and painful dental work I had in the past. My feelings about seeing 'the dentist' were very negative but I can honestly say that changed after I visited Mr Richards. I have never given a review before for anything, but I am so blown away by the quality of service I have received from Dave Richards that I feel like telling the world. I had my 1st appointment last week. Dave explained at length what I needed to have done. I was so nervous as I hadnt been to a dentist in years and had a mouth of black fillings that were coming out. He was so nice, reassuring and not fazed at all. Xrays and photos were taken..wow..that was an education.. I was looking forward to making a start. On my 2nd visit we started with a root canel. I had two injections to numb the area.. I didnt feel a thing! Stage one has started and cant wait to go back in 3 weeks. - who looks forward to seeing a dentist lol.
