M.Our rescue pup Maggie was a bit of a rebel and was not responding to training techniques that we knew or picked up from books and videos. It was getting to the point where we were considering re homing her. Then a friend recommended Grace from Best Mate. Once Grace started with Maggie we saw an immediate improvement and continue to see improvement as we work through the techniques we have been taught. We still have a journey ahead of us but now we're confident Maggie will develop into loving companion instead of a constant source of stress. I would recommend Best Mate Dog Training to anyone, it was worth every penny.
C.We desperately needed a trainer to help us with our two lovely but high energy dogs when I came across Grace’s website. Training that wasn't food or toy orientated sounded too good to be true, so we didn’t hesitate to get in touch with Grace to find out more, as we had tried so many different training methods that failed and were at wits end, especially with our first baby being due in a few months! Grace’s training method is extremely effective, and we noticed an improvement in our dogs behaviours almost instantly!! They are more relaxed, and we are no longer dreading having visitors over or going for walks. We couldnt be happier with the progress made, and now its all just second nature to us and our dogs. A.Grace has been absolutely amazing! We adopted our Huntaway Lab when she was 8 weeks old, she is our first dog so we didn't really have any idea apart from some basics, four months later after completing Grace's program Hollie is so well behaved and always listens to what she's told. We've learnt so much and know we're able to give Hollie her best life. This training was worth every cent, thanks again!
E.Our 3 year old Border Collie Aria was mostly well behaved, but we had a few main issues that we wanted to sort, now that she is getting a little older! (over excited around guests, selective recall, barking in car etc) We were hesitant to spend money on yet another dog training method (we had tried others in the past), but we are so glad that we made the decision to use Best Mate Dog Training! Grace was great to work with, and after the very first session we felt like we suddenly had control over Aria, as opposed to her just obeying us if she feels like it! We have now completed all the sessions, and have noticed such a huge change in Aria already! We loved that this method isn't food based, and also isn't cruel to your dog. P.Our husky-cross was extremely stubborn and he really struggled with manners and respect, especially when it came to listening and general recall. With the expert help of Grace and the training she guided us through, our stubborn husky became a well mannered and respectful dog who was able to sit, lay down, heel and come when we asked on the first command and not when he wanted too or when it suited him. Would highly recommend Best Mate Dog Training to anyone who is wanting to gain the respect and friendship from their dog without relying on treat based training. Thanks so much for your help Grace!

P.It was great to get Grace out to help with our puppy. Dezil is a German Shepard and we were under no illusion he was going to be a lot of work and needed to be trained well in order to control what is a large assertive breed. From the very first visit Grace took control and showed us the techniques to gain a positive response from Dezil, the introduction of a halter was what made this easy however this was quite a shock for Dezill until he understood that there were consequences when not following instructions. As we worked through the training it has been great to see the progress Dezill has made and we now have the tools and confidence that we are in control and have the pet that we had hoped for.
I would highly recommended Grace and Best Mate Dog Training for anyone considering training for their dog to be their Best Mate..

L.We adopted a two year old dog from the SPCA, Due to Albie’s background he had no training and was anxious and nervous and did things like pull on his leash, barked and jumped at other dogs while out walking, barked at visitors even if he was placed outside , and even barked at us if we gave him a fright. Grace adjusted her training so that we did the handling as he would not allow her near him and the training was still so very helpful and 100 % what we needed. Even after the first two visits there was a change in his behaviour and Grace’s methods are so easy to learn that even my 8 year old daughter is able to apply the methods herself . Grace was very patient and she doesn’t rush you into anything. What an investment!! it’s been a great outcome for us all. It’s so easy to take him for walks now, he better understands what is good and not good behaviour and it’s been fantastic. So pleased with Grace’s work she is worth giving a call. R.Ok, we have an eight month old female spoodle puppy called Charlie, she was shaping up to be out of control and constantly in trouble, completely disobediant, barking, pulling on the lead, chewing, chasing cats, unreliable, she was heading for the trademe dogs for sale page, I had wasted $1,800.00 on a bad dog.
Along comes Grace, after six sessions Charlie is a completely different dog now (so are the owners) shes mostly obediant, showing real good sign for a nine month old pup. Off hunting in two weeks time so will really know then how shes going but shes showing signs of being a great dog.
