We had been discussing PV for a while and I short listed 3 companies, including one that advertises heavily nationally, and emailed a list of our requirements, site details etc. Within 2 days I had a response from solarsure asking if they could do a site inspection/assessment within the week (after having the panels for over a fortnight I still haven’t heard from either of the other 2 companies!). Jon was in regular contact and had a discussion with us as to what our expectations were. We then had a proposal couriered by the end of the week. When the installation day arrived Jon, Damon and Joe worked efficiently with only a 10 min break. They were very particular about the fitting of the rails. There was an issue with the data link for the app and Jon was very tenacious at tracking the problem down over a week. You will probably find a cheaper system however the output that we are getting even on dull days reflects that it is worth paying for a well planned system. I found the team great to work with and excellent communicators and have no hesitation recommending them. Update: As our roof faces NW I’ve spent the mornings looking mournfully at all the sun going to waste on our garage roof! Last year we bought a BEV an this year we have also replaced our gas hot water and stove top with electric. An email to SolarSure and Jon and the boys called in after doing a job in Blenheim and checked out the garage and had a chat as to how we would connect to the current system. I thought we would fit 4 panels but Jon was confident that he would get 6 x 390w Hyundais up there. Ivan’s measurements confirmed it. A few weeks later they dropped the panels off and then fitted in the job not long after. The system is now firing up much earlier and was producing 1/2 KW the other morning at 9 am despite being covered in thick frost. The service was as good as the first time.

You guys fitted our solar array and battery backup last September. Its not oftne that I am blown away with customer service and having my expectations exceeded. You guys were nothing short of amazing. The team turned up at EXACLTY the time they said they would and followed all health and safety regs to the letter. They did exactly what they said they would, in the time they said they would do it and when they had finished the house was tidier than when they started !!!!. I was almost waiting for the catch, but it never happened !. There was an unrelated problem with a leak in the roof over summer and just to be sure I called the team. Damon turned up, quick as a flash, checked it wasnt his teams fault, found the problem ( which was nothing to do with them ) and fixed the roof anyway because he was already up there and had his tools with him. I can honestly say that if you need solar fitted, these guys are the ones to use. Thank you so much. Cheers. AL

After going to the market I selected Solar Sure, the others should stick to selling carpet and not try and do deals over the phone / net. Jon visited our house and immediately I recognised he was very knowledgeable about solar systems. I explained what we would like, after consultation with his team he came back with a proposal to use a German Sonnen system which was installed. Solar Sure arrived to carry out the work on time and carried out the installation in very professional manner. Like some others, Solar Sure don’t use subcontractors all work is done by their own staff. After a few weeks we decided that we would like to increase the panel numbers. After discussing this with Jon. He put a proposal together and duly the extra panels were fitted on time and budget. Solar Sure are a very professional competent with the customer at heart, I would recommend them for any installation.

Jon has been most helpful with my EV home charger instal some 12 months ago and again recently with removal so we can move to our new home in couple of weeks time. He has always been reliable and knowledgeable with Electric car chargers and I don’t hesitate in recommending him to anyone. I really appreciated Jon’s hard work to get the install finished just as we went into Covid19 lockdown. Jon and the Solar Sure team have recently installed a Tesla Powerwall with 7kw Hyundai panels and an SMA inverter in our home, it is everything and more than we expected. Why do the local "Carpet" people claim they have an exclusive on Tesla Powerwalls in NZ, because they don't, dodgy behaviour. We found the Solar Sure team (Thanks Mike and Ivan) were excellent to work with and understated professionals in what they do, we highly recommend them . They were also 12% cheaper than the other quotes received, probably due to no multiple agents fees and no big overheads.

I must say - Jon and his team at SolarSure are THE solar specialists in the Nelson/Tasman region - 5 stars hands down. Jon helped getting our 5.15 kWh system installed back in 2018. The workmanship and professional integrity is outstanding. These guys know what they are doing. Just recently we also purchased a TESLA battery to complement our solar installation. Unfortunately we had fallen into a "too good to be true 36 months interest free" trap from a nationwide franchise operation and bought it through them instead of SolarSure. What a disastrous experience that was. Oh no, what did we do? We are embarrassed, but forever grateful that Jon and the team at SolarSure to help us out of this mess and to get things to work as they should have in the first place. We warn everyone who may be tempted by an "unbelievable" deal. You get what you pay for. Don't do it.

Jon, Mike and Ai Van were at my home on Wednesday 7th October 2020 From Solar Sure. They were installing the Solar City Battery System for me, and although it was a 7 out of 10 difficulty job, there was no hesitation in getting on with it with much professionalism. I have to say, the boys from solar sure did an amazing service of installing all of my Solar Panels and Battery. They were very professional, tidy and quick. At the end of October last year (2018) Jonathan, and his team, installed 12 solar panels and the Inverter, to our house. I was very pleased with their work, and the final job was very neat and tidy. For the last 12 months I have kept a spreadsheet with the numbers from the panels, and the Power Company. At the end of October last (2019), Jonathan and his team installed another 4 panels and a Tesla Powerwall. I am now keeping a spreadsheet each day of the numbers from Solar, Powerwall, Grid and Home. Again, I am very pleased with the whole operation, tidiness, efficiency and thoroughness, of Jonathan and his team.

Although this was a first of this particular manufacturer for Jon, he was quickly organized and completed the installation with complete professionalism. If you want your EV home charging setup sorted out Jon Pirie at Solar Sure is who you should talk to. My wife and I have 5.7kW PV system that we are using as much as possible to charge our Nisan Leaf EV. Jon has set up our household 'grid' to maximise this use plus installed an interrupted (night rate) supply for over night/wet day charging over winter. Jon has a very good understanding of a rapidly developing sector of the electricity industry and is constantly researching developments. So - excellent service in many ways.
