R.Rooms nicely renovated, could do with alternative bedding as one duvet type is not right for everyone. chowder and Blue Cod was nice. Espresso coffee needs work, no crema.
A.Went out for a meal with the family. What a wonderful experience, even with the covid level restrictions, didnt stop us from having a great night. Food was fantastic and staff were happy, cheerful and really on point. Highly recommend going here

K.Loved our stay here, we got the room we asked for with all the specifications we were after. The service was amazing by not just the front desk team but also the cleaning team, who were all welcoming and friendly. The rooms are all modern, warm and very clean. Loved the location being just out of Gore. If we're ever in Gore again will be staying there again for sure.

D.The hotel took us in during the state emergency due to flooding. Staff was extremely professional and courteous despite having to wake up extra early and host a hundred or so evacuees first thing in the morning. In particular, the general manager of the hotel gave routine updates and checked on people constantly even offering his own home for a shower after a 16 hour shift. Grateful for their generosity and making the best of a bad situation . If they treat their guests half as well as the evacuees (though I'm sure it's even better) then this hotel is definitely worth staying in if you're ever stopping in Gore.
J.Having driven past the Croydon many times on day trips, I was very pleasantly surprised by what I experienced when I needed to stay a night at Gore. We celebrated our friends 50th birthday by having a surprise lunch. The staff were wonderful and the meals came out quite quickly considering there were around 30 guests attending the lunch. The meals were lovely and great value for money. We were in a private room off the main dining room which was great. I would definitely go back for another meal.
I.Only 1 night but rooms were great. Décor quite new so everything clean and tidy. Staff at reception friendly and helpful. Great stay thank you.
S.Good facilities. We only found one towel for the both of us. Usually motels etc put the towels on the end of the beds, 2 on a double/queen bed. We shared the towell but then found out later through others traveling with us that they were stored in bathroom vanity.
T.Excellent value for money. This was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on. The room was very nice, well appointed and sparkling clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although the food at the restaurant was expensive, you get what you pay for - it is delicious and excellent quality. The Maitre D at the restaurant was great! I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!
M.And the legend continues Croydon Lodge......I love staying at Croydon Lodge for many reasons however the standout reason is because of the people who work there. They are so friendly, helpful and very sincere. Nothing is too much trouble. The food in the restaurant is delicious and rooms very well appointed.

E.My stay at the Croydon was so lovely and I recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a breaking overnight in Gore. The room (s) in the main hotel are beautiful, warm and comfy, with large bed. Stayed for two nights. Breakfast, seems there are few waiter/ waitresses, as it took time to be attended and I could only see two people working. Overall great meals. Thanks
S.I stay here for a couple of nights each month on business and would not stay anywhere else in Gore.
However, I do not think the food was up to the same high quality this week that it has been in the past and I may eat out in future. The seafood chowder was so salty I could hardly swallow it, the steak was tough, sinewy and absolutely raw in the middle when I asked for medium rare and the chicken salad was so drowned in mayonnaise that it had become a gluggy mess. I have not experienced this in the past. When I said to the waitress about the saltiness of the chowder she said, "oh yes we have had a few complaints about saltiness recently".
C.Great stay. Dinner was slow to come out but it was a new chef apparently and when it came, it was good!
H.They always make our annual family get together so easy. Communication is excellent, food is good, service is always excellent and the ample sized private dining room is great for us with several kids.
K.My husband was staying just one night while working on a voluntary job in the area for his previous employer. He says it was lovely to be welcomed and given an upgrade due to the hotel being nearly full. The suite can be highly recommended. Immaculately presented, spacious and with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Just sorry it could be only one night! All staff - reception, bar and restaurant - were polite and helpful. Well worth 5 stars in every respect.

A.We had a great refurbished room , just loved the decor. The in house restuarant food was quite rustic with a heart local feel to it and really suited the outskirt country town of Gore. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a real treat even though we were in a hotel it did have a homely feel about it . I think thats was down to the local hospitality team.

L.Had an unscheduled stop here and just had the best sleep I've had in weeks. Lovely clean attractive rooms and a very comfortable bed. Upon check in Emma and Anne Marie were very kind and helpful given I had arrived with only my hand bag and needed a washing machine and a few other items. Gore is is great friendly town and I will plan my visit here again and definitely stay at the Heartland Hotel Croyden.

D.Very surprised at the quality of the suite. Recently refurbished to 5 🌟 quality. Excellent restaurant, great menu and service. Highly recommend. Note many of the rooms still to be refurbished, but I was told this when I booked.
D.Our first time in a "standard" room. Basic, but had everything we needed. Could do with updating though! Room service dinner was excellent, although the hotel employee who brought it commented on the distance from the kitchen and the main hotel!
B.Staff in bar were very helpful and friendly. Loved being able to order from restaurant menu and eat in warm bar. As I stay here 2-3 times a year I find the restaurant a bit OTT and often can't get in if I haven't booked. so will do the bar option more often especially if I stay in the units out back.
R.Awesome place to stay. Wasn't willing to pay the dumb prices for accommodation in Invercargill so for an extra 30 mins of driving stayed here. Great rooms Real quite and nice and relaxing. Had Rm service dinner both nights and the food was excellent and delivered real quick even though on the 2nd night they had 100+ people in the restaurant. Was willing to wait a bit longer if needed. Everybody we had contact were great to deal with a relaxed friendly manner. Will use again.

S.Great place to stay for work, has restaurant on site so I don't have to go out in the car again after a busy day and lots of driving. Rooms are ok not flash but all I need for one night, love the night stall heater makes it very warm and cozy!
C.On Wednesday the 20th I rang to book in for a meal for 4 on Friday the 22nd, we would be going to the movies first so booked in for 8pm, I was then told we would have to hurry up to order because the Kitchen closed at 9pm, I was a little taken aback at this comment, we arrived on Friday night, seated, served and ate our tea and finished by 9pm, 9.20 we had table cleared and were offered tea and coffee, I said that my friends might like to see the dessert menu and we were again told we would have to hurry because the kitchen was closed, we were all appalled at this service, We understand this young waitress was only doing as she had been taught, is this the way this restaurant is being run now? what happened to Service?
L.As a regular visitor to both Islands of New Zealand. We stay in many hotels and motel.At the hotel although very nice for the price we paid,we would expect breakfast to be included. The Motel needs up grading and cooking facilities added.Also net curtains need to be added to the windows so the big curtains can be opened to let in light,When quest just want to chill after long drives

A.One of our guys stayed here , he said the room was flash as , but the toilet was not clean. Quite disappointing when we paid $185 for the room for a night.

Das Heartland Hotel ist ein wirklich toller Ort um Auszuspannen - ich kann mich nicht erinnern jemals so ein fantastisches Hotelbett vorgefunden zu haben.
Sicherlich hatten wir Glück eine der beiden gerade erneuerten Suiten zu ergattern, aber der Charme dieser Motel-Anlage aus den Sechzigern hätte es uns auch so angetan.
Die Suite verfügt über eine gut ausgestattete Küche, ein großes Wohn- und Schlafzimmer sowie ein tolles Bad mit Dusche und Badewanne.
Zudem verfügt das Heartland mit dem Blazing Copper über ein wirklich gutes Restaurant. Somit gab es weder am Abend noch zum Frühstück einen Grund das Gelände zu verlassen.
Alle Mitarbeiter waren außergewöhnlich freundlich und serviceorientiert, wodurch der Aufenthalt nochmal so viel Freunde gemacht hat.
Eine ganz klare Empfehlung für jeden hier abzusteigen der "längs kommt".
