Such a beautiful place to enjoy their services of high tea and other events. The whole homestead and garden are well kept and exceptionally tidy. They have a wide range of teas to choose from, and very accomodating and friendly service. I would highly recommend this picturesque homestead to anyone! Photo credit to @dorismaphoto on Instagram

Peter & the rest of the staff they were just amazing. This place was just far more than expected. Fully recommend this place. It also has a lot of room capacity. We were a bunch of people and we were properly accommodated.

High tea looks great. Venue under new management in the process of refurbishing. Lovely grounds, peaceful.

Lovely venue, we went for a corporate event and the church was large enough for about 80 people with no problems. Great acoustics and easy to use the space for different things. The food was fresh and delicious, we had soup served for lunch which was great on a cold day. Beautiful surrounds, I can see why this is a popular wedding venue.

Recently we booked a group of 14 for a high tea and tour of this magnificent homestead. The hosts Diane and Peter served us a delightful and tasty luncheon, also an informative talk in the beautifully restored ballroom along with a slide show depicting the history of of the building and the amazing restoration they have lovingly achieved. I fully recommend a visit and High tea at Oruawhero. We'll be back!

We had our wedding here last weekend. The venue is incredible and it was so great having the grounds, chapel, and homestead all available for our guests to enjoy. Peter and Diane were lovely to work with and helped us greatly with our planning. Beautiful venue and I highly recommend for anyone who is looking

Amazing venue, beautiful and historic.

Always a good visit. Peter makes you feel so welcome and his slide show and talk on the homestead history is tops. Diane always puts on a nice nice meal. A beautiful wedding venue

Wow - what an awesome venue - idyllic setting, well appointed and supremely well hosted. Peter and Dianne are wonderful hosts, providing excellent menus and an opportunity to go back in time, as well as terrific conversation. Have to get used to a few basic comforts - but that's what you get with an historic homestead like this. Highly recommended as a venue for retreats of any sort as well as business strategy / planning get aways.

My parents and I had a very lovely high tea at Orua Wharo today. The food was delicious (particularly the scones) and Dianne and Peter were very friendly and gave us a lot of their time to tell us about the history of their beautiful home. A very unique and special experience, will definitely return.

A beautiful and historic homestead in a lovely part of the country. Stayed there for a wedding, the hosts Peter and Diane were welcoming and very helpful. The wedding was perfect!

This old home is a credit to the owners. It was going to be demolished if they hadn't bought it. The church on site is beautiful. Thanks to Peter and Diane for a great day there with our Rebus club.

Wonderful restoration in progress of a 19th Century Estate Mansion. Owners are so friendly & informative. We'll visit monthly to enjoy the ambience & camaraderie. And wonderful HIGHVTEAS. 28 varieties.
