C. W.The 1 bedroom deluxe suite 702 was clean, shower pressure amazing, and the bed comfy; but the fold out couch bed was an absolute abomination! The phone in our room did not work, the front desk was unmanned, the 0800 on the sign behind the front desk was disconnected, and we had zero bars phone signal in our room so ordering room service was a huge mission. Did get there in the end, and while the food was tasty it was luke warm/cold on arrival, puzzling as our room was the closest to the restaurant. The pool and spa were put to good use as the weather wasn't that great for our stay, but a very handy location for walks on the shore.
P.Awesome receptionist upon arrival. She organized a early check in as we arrived with an upset 1 year old. Room was clean and tidy. Grounds needed attention, lawns needed to mowed, gardens cleaned. Spa and pool was a disapointment, place needs a reno as its listed as a resort???? Food was good.
S. B.We were a family of 3 and stayed 4 nights in a 1 bedroom unit with a bed-couch for our boy. Beach facing.
The entire resort meaning rooms, decor, facilities were pretty tired but 20 yrs ago it would have been fantastic. Our bed was king-size but old and needed updating. Good sized TV in the bedroom with sky and larger TV in the living room with sky and free netflix.
The pool was ok but needed a paint job and expansion as there is plenty of room for making it awesome and a real drawcord if done right.... but still fun for kids. Spa pool was simple and old but at least they had one.
The carpets were very stained hallway and rooms throughout and our kitchen cabinetry wouldn't close properly on account of its age and the sea salt affect. Also missing rollers on the dishwasher drawers not making the rooms feel looked after....but these issues weren't dealbreakers. It just needs a good old revamp.
The staff were extremely polite and professional with a fast responsive roomservice/ housekeeping.
We had dinner only once and had pizza.....gotta say the pizza was the BEST I've ever had and fantastic value for money compared to other restaurants. Looking at the other food coming out of the kitchen we were very impressed.
The carpark is unsealed but we used the trolleys to offload and upload our luggage so no big deal.
The whole resort seems like it's set up for functions and weddings with a large ballroom good sized restaurant pool and tennis court.
We loved sitting outside our room facing the ocean and it's amazing sound and waking up to it. There is a public road between the resort and the beach so it's hit and miss on the privacy side as the view was obstructed by day trippers etc.....but they move on eventually leaving the scenery to enjoy.
I don't think we'll be back as the price didn't reflect the quality.
Only a 3 star resort in my opinion.
R. T.we were not told that the restaurant was serving very limited dinners (had pitzas for 2 nights) and no breakfast. website makes proud statement about restaurant which is false. The least managers could have done was advise us in advance of situation as we would not have booked here in that case.

P. S.I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Ramada Resort last weekend. I was totally blown away by just about everything except the weather which in the end didn't matter too much because I had so much fun relaxing and enjoying the scenery and of course the beautiful food. The chef is top class. I loved his seafood chowder and the apple pie tartlet was the best Ive ever tried, The staff were a joy to talk to. Although young they were friendly engaging and helpful.
Our room was very clean modern and comfortable with all the amenities you would expect. I thoroughly loved my experience there and would highly recommend this resort to everyone.

W. B.We spent 6 nights at this lovely resort next to Taipa beach. The accommodations were excellent with plenty of space. The amenities were very good. The restaurant serves delicious food with a good variety. The staff were amazing. From booking on the phone to the actual stay, they were helpful, kind, polite and always ready to assist. In particular Arahine and Terrayna were incredibly professional, efficient and always willing to help. Both had excellent local knowledge and gave us some fantastic suggestions for places to visit nearby. We will definitely be back.

L. T.Another wonderful stay at the Taipa Resort. The beach just across the road is amazing and the facilities at the resort are fantastic, but the staff make it prefect. They are so professional, friendly and welcoming. Seeing the same faces year after year just shows that the staff enjoy working at the resort and that shows in the way they serve their guests and visitors. We look forward to our next visit.

Prices are actually very reasonable.
Most of the time we order two entrees, two mains and two drinks. The bill is usually around $220-240.
T.The room was quite large and the well equipped. We had beachside rooms which were nice and sunny and gave a view of the beach. A good location to stop-over on the way to Cape Reinga and 90-mile beach and then back to the Bay of Islands. Would have loved to stay a few more nights.

T.The ***ager explained that all the rooms would be eventually refurbished and showed us a newly refurbished room which was ""out of this world. I did specifically request a renovated room due to prior experiences and it was a much improved stay. A great place to base yourself for a trip up to the top of NZ.

T.Early January 2011 this resort was fantastic, we had such a wonderful time which is why we decided to holiday here over the New Year. Definitely worth shelling out for the view and being able to throw open the doors from your lounge/dining kitchen or your bedroom and enjoy the proximity to the ocean. The cafe/ restaurant was very nice.
T.Having made a previous review here on the Taipa Resort I am pleased to say that my most recent stay was definitely an improvement. The staff couldn't be more helpful. The rooms were not as bad as I expected but could certainly be improved. Nice to see they value and prioritise their paying guests.

T.I have stayed at this resort ***y times and have always been impressed with the location and staff helpfulness. The units were VERY clean. Creating havoc with our loud obnoxious behaviour is an overstatement to say the least. We stayed during the peak season over New Year's Day so it was overpriced for what we got.
T.We found this very hostile behaviour, especially a couple of days later when we saw a room full of people who had their cars parked outside way past 2am and were making a huge amount of noise. We had a poolside room, liked having quick access to our vehicles and the cafe area. Thanks so much.

T.I would have thought a hotel which was obviously not that old would have had air conditioning. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially the lady who working in the restaurant/bar in the evening. A residential road separates the hotel from the beach but there is very little traffic on it and it certainly doesn't disturb or detract.

T.We just spent a week at Reia Taipa Resort and have nothing but praise for the staff and the venue. Breakfast time was interesting as a coach pulled up for people to collect their food for the trip. Dripping toilet, patio doors which were really hard to close and an electric socket coming out of the wall.

C.We stayed for 2 nights in the Deluxe one bedroom beach front room. Very clean and tidy and plenty of space, nice out look to ocean. Staff very helpful and lovely. They make great coffee in their eating area. We also ordered room service with two pizza's both were quick delivery and yummy.

J. D.My last visit was such a shame. I visit here every few months while visiting family, we make it a habit to come here for breakfast or lunch. I visited mid February for breakfast and left disappointed. I wanted to order the big breakfast and was told that there was no bacon. No bacon for breakfast in a reataurant! I can't remember how many staff were on but they had at least 3 front of house staff on and they only had my table of 3 and another small table in. I couldn't understand why one of them couldn't just go around the corner to the store and pick up some bacon so they could run their menu as normal. I decided against the big breakfast for this reason and decided to get the Chicken Pasta (cant remember the exact name now). I was amazed to hear that they had no chicken! Apparently they were waiting on the delivery truck. With this is mind there wasn't really anything else I wanted so asked if I could go back to the Big Breakfast but have some extra of something else. The staff said this wouldn't be possible! They also didn't discount the price. Service was the usual, nice and friendly but I was disappointed with how they dealt with the missing menu items. Was no apology, staff weren't even concerned and I felt as if they didn't seem to care and it was just 'too bad' that they were missing things. I will be coming back as I usually really enjoy this place but hope someome reads this review and makes some changes so this doesn't happen again. Thank you.

J. L.We had requested three beds, but when we arrived, this hadn't been fulfilled. However, the staff were friendly and helpful, coming to our aid and splitting the king into two single beds when we enquired. The room itself appeared clean and tidy, but the main switch to the air conditioner had been switched off, and it took us some time before we were able to use it. The pool and spa were valued amenities as well. The biggest downside, because the rooms were equipped with kitchenettes including ovens, were the smells that came from other guests' rooms. This needs attention.

M. W.My family ( 13 of us) went to the ramada cafe for lunch to celebrate my mums b'day. We were a mixture of adults, kids and toddlers. We went at about 11am on saturday. Parking was easy and right by the beautiful beach. The resort is beautiful, the cafe was clean, tiday and very nice. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. Our meals came out fast and they looked amazing, and tasted even better. Everyone was very happy with their meal and throughly enjoyed. Thankyou, will be going here every time i visit my mum and dad

P. F.I really want to give the resort more stars, as the staff are amazing and couldn't be more accommodating. But the reality is that you're paying 5 star prices for a 3.5/4 star experience. The rooms are smart (looking like they've recently been refurbished?), but I found the bed really hard and uncomfortable. The staff responded by putting an underlay on the bed, but, unfortunately, the underlay only covered 2/3 of the bed - resulting in my partner having an uncomfortable sleep, as they were right on the edge of the bed. Food was also a mixed experience - after 2 days we learnt to order food that required little cooking, as dishes were often over-cooked, including the Snapper - which was such a shame. :(
r. h.Ramada Resort Reia Taipa Beach was amazing more than amazing. Very clean, the food was beautiful. The settings around the resort so relaxing. The view what more can you asked for The beach all around. The facilities were lovely. Great for children. Rooms so spacious and very tidy. We got married at this resort on 17th Dec 2016. I can not fault them. The staff were extremely amazing. The chef thank you for the great buffet you provided for our special day. Everyone enjoy the lovely beautiful yummie food. The manager awesome awesome. We had organised a bbq for the next day A day after the wedding at the resort. What can we say the staff once again were on hand to help us in whatever we needed. The staff went behond there duties. We had so many guest staying at the resort. Nothing was a problem. We had to do some room arrangements the staff were accomadating to our needs. Surjar the wedding corrdinator manager was fanastatic,nothing was a problem on the day of our wedding and during our stay. We stayed at the resort for 1 week. I would recommend this resort for social events and weddings. I give this resort 5 stars. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay memorable. We will be back in the near future. Lovely staff. Very welcoming.
Restaurant and bar had a couple of problems. Staff " not allowed" to make cocktails. And they didn't know how to make liqueur coffees. Meal was nice though and service superb.
To me toilets define the hotel and the toilets need work. To much like public bathrooms. When I think of 4* hotels. I think of the Waipuna in Auckland. You have to be at least as good as that.
All that said. I'll be back. Best place to stay in the area. By far.
