We stayed here for our 10 days Isolation (MIQ). We had great food and a lovely walks around the garden. The bed was nicely arranged when we first arrived and the toilet was sparkly clean. Hotel staff and Nurses are really kind and helpful. Thank you to all the MIQ and Hotel Staff. You all made our isolation less isolating.
J.
I was so lucky to stay at the Chateau on The Park for my MIQ time and I can't thank enough the staff, nurses and chefs, you all made our stay so special!
The food was absolutely incredible, super generous portions and very diverse, we could chose every day our meals from great options, including vegetarian options.
The only thing I'll say is yo ask for a room with a good view, as the hotel has great outdoor views, my fo was very comfortable but I was looking at a wall and I think I missed out
S.
I spent 7 days in managed isolation here with my partner and it exceeded expectations.
Room: the room was spacious; shower had great pressure; and there was lots of room to move around. The bed was also very good and we were offered regular linen.
Food: food was 10/10. You got the option of a hot breakfast twice a week and more food than anyone could need. The dinners were varied and delicious. You also had the usual Hilton menu that you could order from, including beer and wine etc. If you’re really worried, you can just order Uber Eats or from Countdown or New World.
I read a previous review criticising some of the food being cold etc, but everyone in this facility is doing their absolute best and if the food was a bit luke warm here and there - it was still amazing.
Facilities: 10/10. You cannot complain about the outdoor area. After you return a day 0 negative test, you are allowed out for a good portion of the day in a massive green space. There’s also a well segregated smoking area, which was grand.
Staff: everyone was amazing. Christmas bonuses for them for sure. My partner is from Ireland and this was her first time in NZ, and she was blown away about how friendly and accommodating all of the staff were.
Summary: Chateau on the Park must be NZ’s best MIQ facility and I’m only sorry that I’m not allowed to stay another 7 days.

I had the absolute best luck to be placed at the Chateau for MIQ. My room was spacious with plenty of space for my rental workout equipment and room to spare for yoga. The windows open which was wonderful for fresh air. The food was plentiful and delicious, almost a bit TOO plentiful! Breakfast weren't the best, continental breakfasts daily aside from hot options on Wednesdays and Sunday. Lunch and dinner were where the meals shined. I got to choose every day from 3 options for lunch and dinner and I greatly appreciated the variety of food offered. Always an option that was a NZ standard as well as Indian and Asian dishes. I cannot recommend the samosas and chicken tikka masala enough! I had planned to order out frequently but I was so pleased with what was offered food wise I only ordered out twice. You can also order food from the hotel restaurant menu. Anything I requested, tea, milk, laundry bags, etc., was delivered quickly. The outdoor space was fantastic and I was given plenty of time to spent outside.
The hotel staff, medical staff, and NZ Defense Force were all friendly, helpful, and made my stay a very pleasant one. This has been my only MIQ experience but I cannot imagine a better one.
I would absolutely stay here again. The gardens are gorgeous, it's well located, and the staff is top notch.

Really nice staff and pretty decent Indian food. All in all it was a great place to spend mandatory quarantine in New Zealand
D.
Wow! Is all I can say. I was so nervous about doing hotel isolation. Needless to say the team have been fantastic! The process was seem less and stress free for the passengers.
Worried about food? No need! The serving sizes are so generous and they are great at meeting dietary requirements. I have actually had to ask to stop some of the meals (no need for food to go to waste).
The time outside is very generous! I can’t thank the team enough. If you are heading here full of worry like I was I hope this review serves you well.
I don’t want to do isolation again lol but if I have to I would like it to be here!
M.
In managed isolation here right now. This place is incredible. Stafford so caring, and accommodating. Everyone is bright, cheerful and helpful. The meals are incredible and they are very helpful with any dietary issues. The rooms are a good size, clean towels, sheets, cleaning items and personal laundry are only a phone call away.
I can't rate this place highly enough. Mazz Williams

Stayed whilst Hotel used for MIQ.
Without doubt the best hotel I have ever tsyaed at in New Zealand.
Incredible food, large comfortable rooms, beautiful ground, ideal location and helpful friendly staff.
Could not be happier.
T.
Really great environment - loved the gardens. I attended professional development there and the food provided during the workshop was amazing. The view from the room where I stayed the night was lovely too and looked out over the pool ( I stayed in the third floor'. The staff were also very responsive and accommodating.

This Hotel just confirms why Hilton is on top of the game and leading in the hospitality industry. From start to finish professional, polite, friendly and welcoming. Just the welcome was amazing - getting a warm chocolate chip cookie is a fantastic way to say hello. Whatever happens after that (if anything would happen - which it never does) would be already forgiven. The staff was excellent and that includes housekeeping. We always forget about them as we hardly have any contact with these busy bees. Thank you for a fantastic Job in getting our suite up to scratch every day. The hotel throughout was in great shape - but nothing else expected, as said it’s Hilton after all. Can’t praise you enough. Thanks again for making our stay so enjoyable.
W.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! Got in late and the staff was very accommodating of this and had warm cookies for me and my family. The hotel restaurant stays open pretty late, and we had a decent meal. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast spread was incredible. It's probably worth staying just for the breakfast! The setting is also gorgeous, with beautifully tended gardens and courtyards. I highly recommend.
D.
clean and spacious room, comfy bed, good wifi connection
L.
Beautiful venue once you get in! Quite unassuming from the front, but don’t be fooled - lovely place. Great conference facilities, with staff more than willing to go the extra mile every time. Food also, may I add, is very good! Location is also very good - close enough to everything you need!
J.
My husband and I stayed here two separate times and really enjoyed our stays. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the hotel could use a little updating, it just feels a bit...old. The rooms are spacious but nothing elaborate or over the top. The grounds itself are beautiful located across from the park and central to just about everything in Christchurch. We arrived here sadly after the mass shooting and everyone made sure the guests were comfortable and felt safe. We like the hotel bar, it's small and quiet, but Jade made really good drinks! We will definitely stay here next time we're in town!
B.
Had a great time at the Chateau on the Park. The staff was welcoming and the room was fantastic.
The room, 10/10; clean, quiet and warm.
Amenities, 8/10; amenities are clean, swimming pool is inaccessible in winter due to the cold. (Unless you appreciate cold water)
The view, 1/10; no view at all.
L.
It looked dull when we arrived but people were very friendly and nothing was a bother. Food at lunches was great but dinner Saturday night was a nice meal but nothing outstanding. I feel they need to label some of the food as my granddaughter spied this looking desert, chocolate topping with the works, all of a sudden, lips were numb, and mouth was on fire.... she was munching on chilled pips not strawberry ones. Sorry my girls, but I couldn't stop laughing. Enjoy your stay there.
M.
The nature in hotel is just beautiful. It's like you are staying in a huge park. You can enjoy in the garden all day. I was having breakfast in the garden, enjoying beautiful view and sound of the birds. My room also had a beautiful view of the garden. This is not typicall hotel at all, it reminds me of the castles from the child books. I would say it's a little bit old fashion but in a good way. Just take your book and towel and enjoy garden and the pool all day!
M.
I like Chateau on the Park. This is a very good hotel with well trained staff and excellent facilities. Recently refurbished it looks great. An interesting building designed like a castle it has a layout that is inviting to explore. They provide a full hotel service and cater for the tourist and domestic markets. The Chateau has plenty of guest car parking and is nicely located close to the central city. I would stay here so if you need need a great hotel give them a try.
V.
A beautiful garden style hotel. It is at the other side of the Botanic garden which is quieter. We actually love the quietness. Service is nice. The lady at the front desk was very informative and patient with a beautiful smile on her face. It made us feel very welcomed. The driver who drove us to the city centre was also very friendly and answered all our questions. A great place to stay in Christchurch.
J.
Good hotel although in need of a bit of an upgrade. Enjoyed setting, gardens really make the place.
Chris, the dining room manager, is fantastic and should be managing guest experience overall!
She was very friendly and professional, offered great service, and advice about local atttractions. Really very much appreciated.
R.
We stayed for 7 nights recently and were amazed at the amenities and the service. Our room was comfortable and big enough for 2 people although an additional chair would have been helpful. The staff were exceptional-courteous, friendly, always ready to help or chat. The restaurant staff-managers, receptionists, waitresses, chefs, were the best I have ever seen. Everyone was friendly, nothing was too much trouble, they remembered our various likes (no dislikes as there was nothing to dislike), and the food was outstanding. They must have a very top rated chef. Service was quick. I would certainly really like to go back again and enjoy the exceptional service.
M.
Friendly check in made even better with a complimentary cookie (warm and delicious). We arrived early, despite which they were able to accommodate our room, which was tidy and had everything we expected. We were surprised to even have a bath too. Breakfast was included which we made the most of, a good selection and good quality. Overall Great facilities and a great location, we would use them again.
C.
Building and room standards are cool but service is not really clever. Tried to contact the hotel before my arrival with som requests but did not get any answer. Food in the bar was perfectly made. Breakfast is under average Hilton. Coffee not drinkable. Nice with the option for a $4 guest laundry.
A.
Had a meal here a few Saturdays ago, was impressed with the amount of food for the price. Had a main and a dessert for $26ish, and it was a generous portion size. Was very full afterwards. The restaurant filled up too so bookings might be necessary. Lovely interior with high ceilings and bright colours and beautiful flowers and plants surrounding the corridors. Would recommend this place for a good meal, and will be visiting again
N.
Fantastic place to stay. The staff are always helpful and friendly. I have stayed here so many times over the last year with my fiancé. Great beds, awesome showers, superb room service and lovely breakfast. Would thoroughly recommend staying here if you are in town.
A.
A beautiful hotel right next to the Botanic Gardens. The staff were very friendly, the room was cosy (and the bed was phenomenal). We ate at the restaurant for dinner and I had the venison medallions. Over a 3 week holiday that was THE best meal of the trip, and very decently priced. We would definitely go again.
M.
A lovely hotel, with some beautifully scenic walkways, great staff, and luxurious rooms/accommodations. The restaurant at the hotel is delightful, with some excellent cuisine. Within walking distance of some other great eatery's. If you are in town for a stay, I would highly recommend Dux Dine and using the Limes for transportation. Fun, easy way to see the city efficiently.
V.
Stayed here as it's one of Covid-19 Quarantine Managed hotel.
The hotel management has impose strict quarantine rules and guidelines but at the same time, endeavours to extend their hospitality as best as possible.
Food delivery service is allowed but the ordered food must be handed over to the security personnel, which will be passed on to the guests.
There're rooms with small patios for those who want some fresh air or smoking. However, it's limited to just the patio area and any where beyond that is not allowed.
J.
Great stay. Clean rooms.
J.
We had a lovely night here hotel was clean and the room very good. All new bath wear and the bed very comfy. When the receptionist learnt it was my birthday she had a large bottle of wine delivered. A lovely touch and much appreciated..will defiantly come here again
G.
Lovely hotel close to the park and a gentle walk to the city centre. Welcoming staff. Had a problem with connecting to the internet but tgey were only to happy birthday to sort it out for me. Comfortable room, decent size for 2 travellers.
A.
3 stars, just because of the room I got. Hotel and staff itself is very nice and friendly! Yet I got room 201 which is facing the road, main street and it's so not isolated, you can hear every single car just passing by and fading away and if car has a loud engine you'll be awake for sure. So before you pay your money and get comfy make sure your room is not facing the road, at night is fine, but nap during the day is impossible. Amenities and room itself was really nice and clean.
P.
This is a great place to stay while I'm Christchurch! Our room wasn't ready when we arrived (after the approved check in time) so they treated us to a free drink from the bar and a cookie. How could I be mad with that haha. The room was spacious and clean, the AC was nice and cool. The views over he grounds were very acceptable. Over all a nice stay. A+++
T.
Hotel is about 15 minutes drive from airport and with walking distance of few restaurants. Our room was adequate all things considered. Room was clean and standard. The dining room had excellent service and our waiter even produced gluten-free rolls for my daughter who can't eat wheat. Will certainly book on our next visit.
V.
This location was booked for my brothers wedding. Such a wonderful location, a great place to hold a service. The lawns are immaculate and a very large indoor area that housed us all. The food was top quality and the staff really put the effort in for a perfect day.
P.
We organised a conference there for one week so got a good chance to be familiar with this famous hotel in Christchurch. I heard alot of about this hotel before and it's true. Its a very beautiful place to stay. Very Big and spacious. Rooms are very good and cleaned. Conference hall and dinner party hall were very good and attractive. Staff was very kind and supportive. We did not get any single problem throughout the conference. Food provided by hotel was delicious and unique. It was different for all days. Garden was well mentioned. The hotel is constructed on wood theme which makes it very beautiful inside and outside. Bar and restaurant is there which is famous in city. The location is also very good nearby Hagley Park. I totally recommend for any programme or for staying.
R.
A very beautiful hotel with average rooms. Unfortunately I was too tired to explore much so I can only base this on service and room service food. Check in was fine but not that friendly. The food was mediocre. The sandwich I got was too salty for me to eat.
Oh yeah and I selected a room on the app and was given something completely different. I also mobile requested a beer to be delivered to my room and that didn’t happen either. Not sure what the disconnect was between the app and the hotel.
C.
Lovely place to stay, awesome hospitality, friendliest, yummiest food and customer service was exceptional. Warmest, beautiful people I've ever met staying in a hotel.
L.
Lovely staff. Received cookies at check in, late arrival in the night. Great location minutes from the huge Botanical Gardens and museum. Gorgeous interiors with ponds, and stunning gardens you can have buffet breakfast in as well.on site parking available and rooms are spacious, modern and clean. Would certainly recommend!
J.
Pleasantly surprised. When we arrived i was dubious: a little old and dilapidated exteriors. But the reception staff member who greeted us was friendly, professional and had the smarts to realise that my husband had booked the "wrong" style room... so he politely checked or requirements and made the change without fuss. Big tick thanks. Then, we got a bit lost finding the parking and our room but we managed (it's a bit confusing in layout) and based on the exterior my expectations were fairly ordinary. However, it's a brilliant room. Nice new bathroom and decent quality fittings. Very clean, spacious, wonderful king bed and lovely linen. And very quiet, our room was off the road... perfect.... love it. Even a wee balcony with opening door so don't have to rely on aircon ... aircon is always problematic esp overnight... so we just turn it off. Easy parking and a gorgeous maid who even wrote us a lovely personal note! Thanks chateaux on the park... Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
A.
So close to the airport, we used the Chateau as our overnighter before heading to the snow fields. The rooms are big, clean and well outfitted in a beautiful building with a ton of character. Absolutely lovely hotel staff greeted us with warm cookies at our 11:30pm check in. It was a really nice touch after coming from an international flight.
j.
Nested iN the residential area of Riccarton lies a Charming 3 story hotel set in a lush garden of carefully laid out floral and fauna making this a nice stopover off you are driving or plan to take a pit stop to your next destination within Christchurch.
The location is 1.2km walk to the nearest township of Riccarton and a 3.9km walk though the botanic gardens to the main city of Christchurch.
Staff are friendly and helpful and provide several complimentary return transfers to Riccarton (1) and the city (6) staring at 0915hrs.
Rooms are basic though recently refurbished and the beds are comfortable. Have a room facing the inner courtyard for a lovely view in the early morning sunshine.
The food served at breakfast is decent but variety could be greater for $32.n
J.
We had a very comfortable 2 night stay. The WiFi disconnected more often than I liked but not a big deal. Breakfast buffet was very nice and the service was very friendly. You're just across the road from a beautiful park and Botanic Gardens and a short walk to an amazing variety of international foods.
T.
A nice hotel in very pleasant surroundings. Our room was comfortable with all the expected amenities for the price paid. To sum up The Chateau it had the look and setting of a warm and friendly small hotel with the ambience and personality of an inner city 4* monolithic chain hotel.
L.
Easy parking, easy access and location. Central to lots of food options and great staff. Loved the biscuit on check-in. We dined out but had a buffet breakfast which was excellent. Very friendly staff. Checking out was quick and easy took.
S.
We stayed here for a night for early morning flight home from Christchurch Airport. Staff is very friendly, we told them we need to leave by 5am for our flight. They offer us packed breakfast and deliver it to our room before we leave.
Room with simple amenities but the friendly and helpful staff make a great difference. Thank you DoubleTree (Hilton)!
M.
Had staff christmas do here in the great hall. Wonderful medieval style room - lots of character. Service was always friendly and helpful. Buffet was delicious, especially the smoked salmon and the Indian curry. Has parking lot and lots of free on street parking nearby.
M.
Here for a conference and the whole thing has been amazing. The staff were super friendly, the venue was beautiful and the room was very comfortable (plus any time you can give directions to someone as "across the moat" deserves two thumbs up in my book)
K.
Great location with moderate rooms. Bed is nice, AC difficult to control as it is old cooling/warming based. Wi-Fi is horrible, remind me on network connections of 90s. Food in restaurant is great. Ambience in restaurant and bar is OK
B.
The restaurant is in a very pleasant setting. We were a party of 5. The service was of a high standard. Our lunch choices looked and tasted great. We felt it was money well spent.
J.
Started for two nights, third time staying at this hotel. The rooms are renovated, the service level has lifted. The fact that it is now a Doubletree had made a difference to the overall customer experience. Great job guys.
T.
I had breakfast in the restaurant which was a short walk from the room and overlooking the beautiful rose garden. Ideal if you have a car or don't mind a quick taxi or über. Rooms were immaculate and comfortable. Its proximity to the park and botanical gardens as well as the mall and restaurants make it ideal for the holiday traveler.
I.
Very nice ambience. How ever let down by small things. We are staying for 9 days but still have to pay extra for breakfast (nz$27.00 per person). Fridge in the room freezes water and milk. They sent some one to fix it, but in the end we were told nothing could be done. The "she'll be right" attitude is not appropriate in such a hotel.
S.
Great hotel across from Hagley Park, so easy access for a walk or run or trip to the Botanical gardens. The gardens in the center of the hotel complex are quite impressive with relaxing water features too. Spacious, quiet rooms with balconies and plenty of parking.
And the bar and restaurant in the hotel serve tasty risotto balls. That with some fries and Chipotle mayo make for an excellent dinner.
G.
We had a spacious room overlooking the pool area. Nice and clean with all the provided essentials as expected. Lovely hotel style for the main building, lots of wood, glass and light.
M.
As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a fantastic front desk team who hand you a warm cookie while they complete your check in formalities.
The Château architecture is fabulous and you immediately feel like you are in a unique hotel.
The rooms were impeccably clean and well appointed. The Californian king bed was perfect and I had an awesome nights sleep.
The bathroom was to the standards that you would expect from a 4star hotel, very practical and functional.
The was heaps of choice at Breakfast and the team was waitresses were very attentive and offered exceptional customer service!
Check out was a breeze and took only a couple of minutes. The front team is very efficient and the concierge service is spot on.
The hotel offered free WI-FI which was at a decent speed.
I would recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again!
J.
Cosy and friendly staff especially Kelvin from the restaurant who was very attentive and helpful with tips of places to see in Christchurch and also Sukhman of front desk for the warm welcome. The food was of good quality and tasty. We would surely come again for the hospitality.
S.
Nice we Cafe with quite a large outdoor area. They do good coffee but the iced chocolate could have done with more chocolate. Not bad food either very friendly staff.
D.
Service was very slow. Took 30 minutes to get food ordered and over 1 hour before food arrived. Serving sizes very uneven. My wife returned hers which was then reserved on a different plate and was then cold. Price was reduced by 50%.
L.
Old older style hotel. Wasn’t what I was expecting. Very uneven walking paths. Be careful not to trip if you aren’t paying attention. Hotel rooms are dated. Bathrooms need renovations
D.
I am still here enjoying myself immensely with the outstanding never ending quality room service ...I arrived late into Christchurch and the bar was closed ..of course it was 11pm...
They state they have room service 24/7 and so I decided to enjoy my first holiday evening in style. I
I am well traveled.... internationally and have been to some super luxury resorts...I quite frankly have to say the service and quality of the food late into the evening even 2.30am is spectacular and gives some of the resorts I've stayed in serious competition.
The staff from the moment of booking in have been so friendly so giving without expectations that when I did tip ..how could I not with this outstanding service and food..that it made me smile at the endearing humble and non expectancy of the people working here.
It's a fantastic pleasure to be here and Ive not been the easiest customer ordering room service 5 times from 11pm to 3am yet not once have I experienced anything more than a sublime professional friendly service that to me puts this place as one of my favorites in the world..yes I did say that...yes deservingly soo.....
I've enjoyed a caesar salad and kumera and bacon soup...the soup I thought...nooooo ...really ??? Kumera and bacon ??? Yet I had another little voice saying try it... everything has been incredible...and it was ...oh wow ...oh yummmmm......yum yum..
Come here to have a break.. a holiday ... a treat.... just know your stepping into a quality faultless experience of delight in every way.
Thankyou for a spontaneously incredible evening ... well done ...I felt so comfortable and happy enjoying the great quality of food and service you offer ...6 star not 5 ...❤😀
C.
Clean room, nice staff, lovely grounds with a courtyard garden, patio, and lawn. The bed was moderately comfortable. It's a bit far from the restaurants but you can walk through the park to get downtown in 30 min. A bit pricey for what you get but a decent choice when visiting Christchurch. Would probably stay here again.
F.
Somebody should teach some manners to Ms. Donna, a waiter in the restaurant who rolls her eyes just because you politely ask her for a toothpick, while she mumbles that they are on the counter and I can help myself. It felt very awkward and unwelcoming.
The hotel is beautiful, the rest of the staff very kind and courteous and the quality of the food at the restaurant exceptional.
T.
Prices are reasonable but like most hotel room service slightly over expensive. The staff are well trained and tended to our every need and request efficiently and with a smile. Excellent location across the road from Hagley Park and within a reasonable distance of the Botanical Gardens and the centre of the city.
D.
The food and Service were a great deal better than our last visit when it had just changed hands. The venison was cooked perfectly. The wine selection reasonably priced.
J.
really pretty hotel, super cool interior!! the lobby and everything is really well designed and the service is super good, definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for somewhere to stay the night in christchurch!! pretty convenient too — near the park / town!
J.
This is a very old hotel. Renovated to be part of Hilton now. Staff are generally pleasant except one staff. Forgotten his name, he saw me standing in front of him. I was waiting for him to finished before I can ask for directions but yet , he turned away to serve a Caucasian at the side instead.
Rooms are incredibly clean. Breakfast are simple though. Stayed in many Hilton hotels but I realized their breakfast are all different . I think this is because they serve according to the local culture. Carpark comes separated . If your room is at the back, you have to exit from front lobby to the back carpark.
A.
Staying here at the moment, unfortunately we were not offered a welcome cookie as advertised so we cannot comment on how delicious it possibly was. We have a view of the carpark but when down stairs in the restaurant the view of the garden is pretty, the bed is big and comfy, rooms are warm but more for business people I think than holiday makers. Directly across from the park and botanical gardens and about 30 minutes brisk walk into Christchurch. Food in the restaurant was awesome highly recommend the roast ! Chef knows what he is doing when it comes to taste that's for sure. Pleasant service staff wise in the restaurant and bar, will defo stay again and hopefully might get a cookie next time.😉
K.
Spacious, clean, good service. Nice rooms, comfortable beds. Good shower pressure. Excellent warm cookies on arrival. Nice fireplace to warm ones hands. Evelyn & Crabtree toiletries.
L.
It's "ok" staff is nice but no one goes out of their way to do anything. The restaurant was pretty bad. I ordered tacos and since the cook was Indian they were masala flavored. I was not happy. The waitress told the head chef who basically did not care. I told her I was going to write a trip advisor review and she came back 5 minutes later offering to take the cost of my meal off the bill. It was conveniently located and a short walk through a gorgeous park put us in town. We used hotel points so our stay was free, definitely would not pay to stay there again
S.
We treated ourself to a deluxe room here for 3 days after hiking the Te Araroa trail (south island). The room we stayed in had recently been refurbished and had very tasteful decor. I understand the entire hotel is undergoing a big renovation as well. We found the value to be exceptional. The hotel is situated on 5 acres of beautifully kept gardens, including a rose garden you can lounge in. In addition (if gardens are your thing), a massive city park is right across the street. One thing that really stood was the room service. Only $1 more than priced at the restaurant! And you get it in your room! outstanding. Nice Pool too.
D.
bedroom was clean and was equiped with free continuous wifi throughout the whole hotel. electrical sockets near the bed to charge devices is a plus. Breakfast offers a generous choice of mueslis and vegetarian options. fruits are fresh and taste delicious. the staff didn't seem to be working under any form of stress and remained available to answer questions about their hotel and its surroundings.
J.
Currently staying here,
Hotel staff are friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast is impressive.
Rooms clean bed comfortable and room quiet.
No negatives to post.
Would recommend and stay again
G.
Prime location makes a quick walk to the botanical garden an easy and fun activity. No issues with parking and the room was both modern and comfortable. I stayed there for one day in early September and then immediately booked another stay upon checkout.
T.
The location is good, with a lovely 20 minute walk into the city through the park and botanic gardens. The hotel is hidden from view of a busy street where they have very beautiful landscaped gardens. Thank Heaven that Christchurch is full of great eating places that actually do understand special diets.
K.
A very special 65th wedding anniversary celebration. The Chateau was the perfect place for people from 7 years old to 88. Lovely lunch from set menu and very good service. Given the number of diners in the cafe our wait time was very brief.
M.
The staff are amazing and the hospitality they provided during our stay was beyond words. Would love to come back here. Not to mention the food..yum!!
T.
We spent a great week at this Hotel and enjoyed every day of our stay. It's 20 minutes away from the Airport which was around $44 each way. The hotel runs a free shuttle but it doesn't go very often or very late so its then a taxi or a walk.
T.
Good location a short walk through the park to the centre. We did not try the hotel brasserie, however there are several good restaurants within walking distance. Our room was not ready on arrival (about 11AM) but our bags were quickly stowed while we got something to eat at the hotel restaurant.
T.
The room was clean and tidy and looked out on the garden. Staff very helpful and you can walk through the park and botanical gardens into the city centre. I am a UK Travel Consultant and will 100%% be recommending this hotel to my passengers when they are visiting Christchurch.
T.
Directly across from the park and the botanical garden which I highly recommend. We had a room on the ground floor where the doors opened out onto the back entrance of the hotel but the view was lovely and nice to have a couple of outdoor chairs provided for guests. I would certainly book here again if I was visiting Christchurch.
C.
My wife and I would like to thank front office manager Ms Cecilia Zhong for her friendly assistance during our recent stay at this lovely hotel. We found our car battery was dead the morning of our departure and she went above and beyond the call of duty to help us out. Thank you Cecilia. I would recommend this hotel to anyone - lovely gardens, nice pool, great restaurant, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room.
B.
Really good and lovely but the toilet didn't work properly and there was no hot water but we only stayed there for one night and they offered us a free breakfast to compensate.
All up I would recommend this place as long as the facilities work.
D.
Very nice hotel with a beautiful park inside. Rooms are quite spacious and clean. The location within Christchurch is quite nice (it's in the richer part of the city)
S.
Disappointed with the menu as was looking forward to Wagyu Steak & Beef Cheeks as advertised on website but all in all, tasty salads with calamari, although calamari was thin but ok. Salmon and Blue Cod deliciously cooked. Cheese board was good, cheesecake also good. Service friendly enough. Atmosphere comfortable and decor could do with an update. Pleasant evening.
T.
About 30 minutes walk in to town. My husband equally enjoyed the lamb. We booked the buffet breakfast when we booked the accommodation via the hotel's website which was a good move as the internet rate was quite a bit cheaper than if you just turn up on the day.
C.
I’m completely in love with this hotel. The atmosphere is amazing as well as the furniture, rooms and common areas. Restaurant staff may seem grumpy at times...

We had our work Christmas function at this restaurant and we were given a private room that's enormous for 30 people. The chamlot room is very well decorated with Santa and Christmas tree. Christmas crackers and some ornaments on each table. The food was great too we can choose between 2 courses or 3 courses Christmas lunch menu and start a tab for drinks for each individual. The waiting staff were super helpful in working with us for the best meal table serving and our entertainments throughout the meal. The missing star is for not giving us steak knife for those who had eye fillet and very slow in replying email and responding calls. Otherwise everything was great. #workfunction #christmasfunction
J.
We had our wedding reception here and it was everything we wanted it to be. Beautiful venue, and the food was divine! Yang Yang was a great organiser! Chateau on the Park has great staff - easy to talk to :)
R.
We attended a conference here. The room was very good and the aircon worked. Comfortable seating. Food was good and staff in this area exceptionally helpful.
J.
Friendly staff. Calm hotel. Nice room, could have been a bit bigger but not small at all. Shower with a real shower head and hose🖒
Warmed up pool to 25°C
J.
This Doubletree by Hilton at Christchurch is such an amazing hotel! Regardless how beautiful is the guestroom layout here, the hotel gave each in-house guest an opportunity of winning the Xmas gift by the "lucky spin" and guess what, we've won the lucky #8, for 2 Golden tickets! How thoughtful are they! Unlike the owner of "You Hanoi Me", Mr. Jason Whitelaw being ridiculously arrogant, he was not only unprofessional of not wanting to treat us like a "customer", but also blamed us to say we were "uneducated" just because he didn't like to see we posted a bad review on his restaurant. Very unthoughtful!
We love this Doubletree hotel and will return for our next trip soon!

The length of time before dessert arrived I did ask for mine earlier due to having to pick up grandson I wasn't sure if the waitress understand .We arrived at 11.45 and dessert hadn't arrived at 1.30 so I had to leave. The main meal was delicious .

I love this hotel. They give you this yummy cookie upon checking in. And the staff are very friendly and nice. Very homey feel. And very good ambiance decorations.
C.
Beautiful, gardened and very quaint. Located by a huge park , containing the Botanical Gardens and the city center
The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Loved my stay for 4 nights. Five thumbs up 😁😁😁
T.
Good location with easy walk into Christchurch through Hagley Park. I suspect we got the more recently renovated wing of the hotel. We had good service but I looked for a cookie or fruit in the room. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone visiting Christchurch.
R.
Great place too stay and hold a function..we had my son's wedding and reception there and the food and staff were amazing they could not do enough for us and made the room look amazing to have the ceremony in as it was wet outside..try them you won't be disappointed.
A.
Good hotel. Perhaps not the newest. But comfortable and if you have a car, easy to access most parts of Christchurch. The restaurant does a fabulous Fillet Steak too.
T.
We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel which was in a good location for us. We were able to walk to the Museum, and the Cathedral from the hotel across the lovely ground of the park. Has outside swimming pool so would be nice outside on a hot summers day.
L.
Cute little hotel in the heart of Christchurch. Very friendly and helpful staff offering chocolate chip cookies at checkin. Rooms clean and tidy. Spacious bathroom. Housekeeping with attention to details.
M.
Had a lovely stay during a recent visit. Located just outside the main city area, it’s a lovely short walk through the nearby park. Friendly and courteous staff, with clean comfortable rooms, although a bit outdated.
J.
As we are regular diners in a large group pork belly crackle not up to usual crispness.Beef and fish meals good. Ice cream dessert too soft poor appearance. Service great.
J.
Very nice hotel. Great Hilton service. Rooms are good sized and everything was great. Didn't eat at the restaurant so can't provide feedback on that. Nice big hotel. Thanks Hilton!
S.
Managed Iso Quarantine, good food & staff, job done thank you, food way better than Crowne Plaza Auckland Dec20 (terrible as publicised)
A.
Chill, quiet, clean. Has a nice touch to it. Kinda feels American kinda Chateau.
Reception service is slow, but helpful.
Big rooms wirh nice outlook.
D.
Pretty disappointing. Check is 3pm our room was not ready until 440pm. Hotel is clean but dated. Could do with a refurb. Only one washing machine so be prepared for a long wait to do any washing
N.
Very nice and cosy hotel. The staff was very helpful. Help me get a room 4hrs before checkin time as i was feeling extremely tired after a 10hr flight.
J.
Had lunch at the brasserie. A very attractive menu, friendly staff, and indoor/outdoor seating. Reasonable prices. A number of famous wines on the list.
-.
Retro architecture. A bit chilly due to single glazing. Coffee is not great should use local roast. Decaf coffee was awful . Rooms are nice enough. Restaurant is old fashioned but service is good.
E.
Rooms were clean and spacious. Very beautiful grounds and located near a large beautiful park. Hot breakfast was delicious and the restaurant had a wonderful dinner on site.
T.
We chose this hotel because it was so close to the train station where we caught the TransAlpine train across to Greymouth (the most comfortable train ride anywhere) but abit of a walk (through the lovely park) to the CBD. The location is …
G.
Nice clean, well appointed rooms. Nice breakfast selection included with room. Gym is basic but functional.
T.
The Chateau is in a great location for touring Christchurch. Close to Hagley Park and a good walk into Christchurch through the Botanical Gardens which is well worth a visit. The best part of this hotel are the staff. Considering the fairly large size of the hotel, it has a friendly and warm ambience which is surprising but nice.
J.
Beautiful hotel with an amazing view, the architecture of this hotel is unique, surrounded by gardens and fountains. Food is great as well! Location is near the city center and the botanical gardens!
S.
Meal was delicious. Waiting for an hour to eat not good. Waitress unable to deal with people shifting places. No tea or coffee offered but was part of the $31 lunch deal.
J.
Lovely hotel comfortable beds and just a 20 min walk from the city centre. Very helpful staff and you even get a warm cookie upon check in!
S.
Super friendly staff and very helpful. It's not as fancy as other hiltons but with more family kind of feeling. The hotel is next to the park you can just walk to the museums in 20 mins
B.
Not only is it well maintained and beautiful but the staff are just lovely. Best service I've had in ages would happily book again :) keep up the great work guys, you're smashing it :)
P.
Big function rooms available for conferences or seminars. Great catering options to suit your budget. Handy for out of towners as they can stay in. The location is right by Hagley Park. Small distance to the CBD.
L.
The steak as hard as my shoes, so it's a nope from me for the food! Bad experience from the food. The strawberry mojito is awesome, staff service is good.
M.

A.
Great place to stay the night and food/drinks reasonable. Been there many times before over the years and not much changed.
A.
Nice hotel, location is 20 mins stroll to city via parklands, shower was a little cramp, beds were on the softer side and TV was old school flat panel, room was clean, being diamond members the breakfast was very good and wifi very fast and excellent value for money
m.
This hotel perfectly fits in the whole armosphere and layback energy here at this place. You have a feeling like you are staying in a beautiful garden or park.Is very close to shoping mall and street full of stores and restaurants. The huge city park with golf course is just 5min walk away.Hotel has restaurant and bar.Very good local food
S.
Conference room was easy to find and a good size for the event. Was catered well and having a bar in the conference room at the end was a nice touch.
u.
Staff are very helful and polite,
Rooms are fine& clean, with all amenities, less selection of channels on TV)) very quite inside and outside the hotel, nice area
R.
The food was superb. I would have given 5 stars but the waiting staff were overworked and had to run around the dining room
D.
Staff really helpful for the event that I attended. Had lunch was quite tasty, crumbled fish was really good. Nice atmosphere, plenty of parking.
A.
Nice as far as hotels go, but overall felt dated and wifi was meh (very big deal for me since I don't use data while international).
R.
Amazing and lovely staff
Atmosphere is very relaxing
As I stayed there many times I once had a garden room
U simply open window and flowers pop out 💐
S.
Nice old style hotel , a bit far from the city center , the house keeping they are so loud they keep banging stuff around , even if u have DND bright sign outside ur room door still didn't make a different .
E.
Very good value for money. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The shower is amazing. The breakfast is also very nice.

Great location, lovely gardens and clean rooms. Would suggest a bathroom renovation in the future but will be back again when visiting Christchurch.
C.
Clean rooms, beautiful grounds, outdoor pool, coin laundry, free shuttle to across the park, helpful staff, very good restaurant and bar inside
M.
Good place if you don't mind the noise of people talking the high old celling design gives that impression... Food is fabulous and the service is spot on... One if the places to eat at for good food.
S.
Had a really good night last night with ANZs Stephen Caunter teaching on How to promote your business using the Internet. Stephen is very easy to listen too as he is funny but also really knows his topic. Chateau on the Park put on a really good super catering well for vegetarians and gluten free. Thank you to all for a very pleasant evening.
L.

Good hotel. Super slow check in/out. Restaurant was little expensive given the meal. Breakfast was pretty average. Room was good.
D.
Really nice hotel, with amazing gardens and just opposite Hagley Park. The rooms are big and clean, and the hotel and the area, where is located are very quite, and the service was of good quality.

t.

Often at the Chateau for ANZ workshops. Their establishment has always catered very well and staff are very helpful. Parking is ample and close proximity to the city and arguably Christchurch's largest Westfield shopping mall.
M.
One of the best Hilton hotels! Amazing service and very comfy room! Would definitely stay again!
D.
The food was delicious. The service left a lot to be desired. Its not nice when 3 out of four are served & we are left waiting for the forth meal. Why can't the meals be served per table.I had a desert no spoon to eat with & no waiter in sight.Ended up getting my own spoon & got dirty looks from other staff.I'm not inclined to recommend this restaurant.
J.

Well to be honest not up to the Hilton standards. The pool isn't functional everything else is just average not exceptional given the Hilton reputation.
