Have had a memorable birthday party at the Nineteen Restaurant in The Palm room. Marcus and the team was easy to deal with and accommodated our request to suit our party requirement. Food and service was great, the guests enjoyed it too. Really glad to have chosen this venue for the party. The villa we stayed in was spacious, really relaxing stay with awesome view! Would love to stay again in future!

Love staying here! Burger at the bar was excellent too! It's such a well kept secret this beautiful accommodation set on what must be the MoST stunning golf course In The World. Staff are gorgeous too.

Worth the price. The villas are spacious, comfortable, clean and well appointed, and the staff are friendly and very professional. There's a bar and restaurant on site, but it's a short drive from the village eateries, marina and swimming beaches.

Just had an amazing dinner tonight at the nineteen restaurant great service the food was spectacular had the fish of the day followed by the cream brulee. There was four of us dining tonight all had great meals will definitely be back. If you haven't tried it yet you should. Thank you Formosa!

The room is beautifully set up. Very spacious. Beautiful view. Beds are comfortable. Clean. Had prebooked for a cheese platter upon arrival. Most of the crackers were stale you could not bite into it. Ordered room service on our first night from Nineteen Restaurant. I ordered the steak meal. Chips were very salty and as you can see for $34, the size of this piece of steak was very disappointing. It was smaller than my hand. Also had a ceasar salad on the side, croutons were also stale. Nice rooms but would not recommend ordering from restaurant.

Great venue for a wedding. Apartments were great too. Felt like we were in Fiji. Stunning views

The room I will give 5 stars. Service they tried their best to give. But the main problem is their behaviour is not like a professional. Specially covid 19 preparation. We can understand because of covid so many things they need to follow. But they can do so much better in my opinion. Especially their food service. We ordered food and we know that it will come in a takeaway box. But, their way of takeaway packaging is not good at all. Poor packaging, cold food, bad presentation. They should follow some high-quality takeaway packaging. On top of that, there is no microwave to heat the food. My suggestion will be please follow some international standards for everything. We were in room 19 great view. The staff was so much friendly and helpful.

Had our wedding here and the venue was stunning and staff were very helpful. Just a little delay with the food but overall a great experience

Great view, but for a large group of people (21) the food was very average. Took over 2 hours for the food to arrive.

Course is good, view is so beautiful with nice customer service. Nice breakfast and dinner. Nice living room. Quiet and comfortable.

Lovely food, lovely views. Unfortunately the service let them down. A bit of a drive to get there from East Auckland and decided it's not worth the drive. Maybe if they had friendly, trained staff. The place have potential with the right management. Could be growing pains, might try in a year or so again. Music was a bit loud, but at least the food was good.

stayed overnight at a business event, the resort it quite large spread over the golf course and the facilities that I saw; the bar and restaurant were nicely laid out. the food was good and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The twin rooms were all separated in a little villa style and had a nice view of the course and ocean. Would recommend for a couple weekend getaway or if you enjoy golf, there is a countdown supermarket and some good and liquor stores about 5min drive up the road

A great place to go for time out and relaxation. Stunning scenery and very peaceful. Staff friendly and relaxed. The restaurant food was limited in choice but mostly very good. And the prices were very reasonable for such a unique and quality place. Great for an escape even if you don't play golf! Good access from city with Pine Harbour ferry.

Easter escape without the crowds in a relaxing spacious villa. Tropical setting and expansive architecture, made it feel like we were in a different country. Great service at the pro shop, great all round golf course. Sadly there seemed to be a lot of litter in this beautiful natural setting. Four stars

Great place for staying and having functions. Also has its own golf course.

Snack lunch 4 adults 2 children plus drinks. Great service, nice menu, great food, superlative outlook.

Excellent service, food and location. My partner and I were really impressed. Would highly recommend, the place reminds me of the engine room or depot food and service wise, I had the duck parfait, the lamb duo and the lemon tart and had a nicely matched duck hunter Pinot on our server’s recommendation with the lamb. The parfait was smooth and creamy and pink as it should be. The Lamb was tender and juicy and the tart really well balanced lemony, raspberry sweet and sour with white chocolate mousse on top. Will be back to try more. Really good.

My husband and I had dinner at Rydges Formosa on Sunday night. What an amazing experience! Nick, who took our reservation, made sure the staff knew it was our wedding anniversary and Emma went out of her way to make our evening special. The service was wonderful, the food delicious and the views from our table were absolutely stunning. What a gem out here in our piece of paradise. We highly recommend dining at Rydges Formosa and we will be back again soon. Thank you to Nick, Emma and the team.

I am glad this beautiful resort is back to Kiwi ownership. So much has improved since my last visit. Rooms have been renovated and the restaurant was running at full capacity. Stayed there for New Years and had a great time. Nick, the staff member, was awesome. Very friendly and welcoming.

Had the opportunity to play out at Formosa Resort in East Auckland today. The staff were friendly and the clubhouse is beautiful. The course layout itself is one of the best in Auckland in my opinion. Greens were excellent which was nice to see. Fairways and bunkers still have a lot of work to be done but overall the work that has been done by the new owners has been good in my opinion. Will certainly be back and can't wait to see how the course will develop over the next few years!

We live locally and after reading rave reviews of the restaurant on the local Facebook page we were very excited to try it out. We met some friends for brunch on a Sunday morning. Unfortunately we were disappointed both by the average food and coffee, and the level of service from the staff left a lot to be desired. Such a shame as it has real potential and it is a stunning location with amazing views.

Disappointed with the Mothers day high tea in that savouries could have been heated and maybe warm scones could have been an improvement. Staff were very inexperienced and looked like the local high school were asked for help. Particularly bad bar staff who were definitely young learners and no training or experience. Saw one girl removev the cork on a bottle with her teeth!!! The pink gin supplied was flavored grape fruit and soda water...no gin.Hoped Rydges would have made an effort to improve the place.

First time on this course, a bit of a drive but glad i came. Beautiful country club with stunning views. Staff very attentive & polite. Played yesterday 30 degrees on course it was like a sauna. Course needs a bit of work but lovely to play on. Thank you we will be back.

Renovated since last time we stayed. Much better but requires a bit more to lift it to 5 stars. Restaurant great.

Amazing get away place!! In love with the place

Had a family dinner which included a noisy infant. Tisharne and all the staff could not have been more helpful. First class service and great meal.

We enjoyed our stay and the club house was fantastic. However, the golf course was not maintained well at all. In terms of location and course it has the potential of being one of the best in Auckland, was unfortunately really run down though. Most of the bunkers were clay, greens were sand etc. Hopefully next time we go it is looked after

Nice and clean accomodation with stunning ocean views. The restaurant serves delicious food while the staff take care to experience the best dining.

Quality of the course was reasonable given the amount of rain we've had..great walk and scenery with some real challenging holes. Pity about the 'no cash out' policy even though I purchased a breakfast as wanted to flick in $2 for 2's.... that doesn't make sense for trying to get improved membership...if it's too hard why go there. If the system doesn't allow it then check the 'system'....

We were here for a small wedding. The view was very attractive with rolling golf course and palms. The staff were helpful and kind. The three course lunch was attractively presented. There was a good variety offered for a small set menu. Parts of it were very tasty.

Still a work in progress, fairways and bunkers need a lot of work. They could make drink and food prices a bit more attractive to get the punters coming in considering the state of the course.

We had A good golf play today, the greens and fairways has got much better, but some bunkers still need to be improved.

Baby friendly as checkout is at 11 and they offered me to checkout at 2 to make things easier for me as I had a baby and was waiting for an event to finish

Had dinner here with my best friend . Service was great but the food was outstanding, and delicious. Definitely will visit again with the lovely husband .

Long fairways, some good views off T-boxes, keep away from rough, can be windy at times. If you love a challenge, this course put your best skills to test. Food is not that great & only bottle beers available (costly..from $7.50 onwards). Great outdoor seating available on a good sunny day.

Was really impressed with our room!! Granted the villas are dated and need some TLC, but we had no complaints at all about the cleanliness and the size of our room. In fact we were wowed by the size, general facilities and services provided. And omg the view!!!!!

Clean tidy and the food staff were great. Cant coment of the greens as we didnt have time to play but the stay was amazing, everything was very clean and tidy

Business partner took me here for lunch and then the drive range... I felt like I was in a resort with bespoke decorations and classy features, not to mention the breathtaking view of the ocean from the restaurant. We had a buffet lunch, and the work it off with 50 golf balls at the driving range... I am now typing this with sore arms, as we tried to see who can hit the longest distance

Amazing design. Most greens in good condition. No bunkers playable as no sand and left to grow over. In the dry it's worth playing. Looks like they have 1 or 2 ground staff as in quite a bit of dis-repair.

The villas have been redecorated recently and they are large. Really nice place to stay. Recommended.

Bunkers need work, but a beautiful course that has just the right amount of challenge for the average golfer off the white tees. If it was manned properly more often and the bunkers were in play, this would be easily a 5star rating.

Had Christmas lunch here, it was very good. Great selection on the buffet. Service was very efficient and friendly staff. New owners have just taken over at the beginning of December. New menu's now available.

Stayed and played at Formosa very nice accomadation, clean, great views, warm atsmosphere, staff at reception very helpfull and accomadating. Golf shop gentleman, very heplful, very pleasant. Had a wonderful game of golf, settled into the bar, easy atmosphere. Next day breakfast was wonderful. Again golf shop staff member was very helpful and easy to talk to. In all a wonderful experiance and will be going back again, Recomend it for a wonderful experience at very good rates.Thank you

Has potential. Needs more money and TLC to restore it back to its glory days. Greens are still recovering from coring but another month and it will be playing better.

What potential. This was clearly a fabulous golf course in its prime but unfortunately it has lost some of its sparkle. Fantastic coastal vistas and challenging tee positions. If it were to get the TLC it deserves.........

Whilst it was obviously good in it's hey-day, it's well passed it from a top golfing resort. Actually it barely makes it mentionable, considering the green fees and cart costs, considering none of the bunkers are in play...

Enjoyed playing there. Though, its quite a long course and still needs a lot of work to get the course back to a good condition. I can see they are trying.

Beautiful golf course, very wet and the bunkers are in a very bad state grass/weed growing in bunkers. Will definitely go back and play in the summer.

Not great in winter very muddy grounds. Toilets werent in top gear. A toilet paper holder in womans was broken and held together by clear cellotape. Very tacky.

We are dance a lot in Formosa nearest Mission Bay in a clear night.

Formosa Golf Resort rated 4-1/2 stars: The excellent opening stretch, a par-4, par-3 and par-5 set the tone for this very good American-style, Bob Charles designed course. The open, undulating layout has plenty of strategically placed bunkers, large expansive putting surfaces and small ravines that need to be crossed in front of several greens.

Very nice alcarte breakfast. Villas need inside maintenance e.g. lights that don't go, cupboards and doors that don't function very well. Cracks in floor tiles

I would like to take this moment and thank the Formosa Golf resort staff, specially the event manager "Eva Liu" for her hard work to make my dream wedding a succefull one, She has done everything really nicely and looked after my guests very well.I didnt have any stress at all. I would highly reccomend Formosa for any kind of Function or Wedding.Food was really nice & staff were very friendly.Location is magnificent that can not even think about any other place to compare with it. The overview and layout of courses are very good. but bunkers had not sands and green speed is so slow.

Peaceful weekend away and you don't have to play golf either. Lol. Might do with a microwave in the room. And sky on the TV. Maybe more than 500mb of WiFi.

They have improved the course. Started replenishing sand on some of the bunkers.

Under new management, not sure for how long now, but still undergoing some teething issues. Breakfast closes before 9am so get up early, if you are unaware of this you might miss it.
