Great little course, perfect for beginners and regular golfers to have some fun. Nice simple lunch menu and good selection of cold beverages. Will definately be back for another visit.

Loved our stay overnight with golf lesson 2 rounds of golf, lovely restaurant meal at an idyllic setting in the country. Kaye is very welcoming and friendly along with her staff. Golf lesson was also valuable. 9 hole Course a bit tricky but enjoyable...

I haven't yet played a round of 9 holes golf but I did purchase a second hand set of second hand clubs. A great bargain and Kaye helped me out with everything, she certainly knows her stuff! I am so excited to get started so I look forward to coming back for a round! Also the outdoor eftpos is brilliant (why don't more courses offer this!) and the grounds looked amazing!

We had a wedding here which went very well, Kaye was amazing and made the day exceptional. We have been back for several visits. The current chef makes some great dishes for what is very reasonable prices, which you can eat while enjoying the landscape. Keen to try the roast. Keep an eye out for Max the friendly cat too!

Just attended one of the Sunday golf clinics that Kaye offers. As a beginner i found this to be very helpful. Followed up with a round of 9 hole which was great. We played at our own pace.. everyone was friendly and didnt feel rushed. It was a awesome day out. Decided to have lunch at the cafe and was delightful. Exceeded my expectations.. thank you

Team building event, its a great place to rejuvenate..

Lovely house well kept and very Spacious, couldn't take advantage of the golf course due to weather however still managed to keep the kids active with Darts, Pool, Indoor Driving range and free putting green by the restaurant. Thankyou Kay and Yolla for looking after us. Will return 4 sure. Lori

Thanks so much to Kaye and the chef at Maxwell's for the outstanding service you provide. We built in the area 3 years ago and was introduced to Maxwell's about 18 months ago. What a hidden wee gem this place is. Great food, an amazing outlook, beautiful 9 hole golf course and exceptional hospitality. We now find ourselves visiting every couple of weeks for a couple of beverages and lunch and feel like part of the Maxwell's family. If you haven't yet visited Kaye and Maxwell's, you are missing out. Highly recommended. You must try one of the golf packages. Great value for money.

Great retreat home on the owners 9 hole course. Hired via Bnb. The owner is a retired professional golfer who also offered classes. Btw the restaurant onsite is great!

Great food friendly service and nice course

Loved being here. Went to play a quick round of golf, but stayed to play another one, have lunch, dinner and drinks. The atmosphere is amazing and Kaye is so friendly. If you're around and you like golf and food, you're in for a treat!

This is one of the best 9 hole golf courses l have seen. Top greens, heaps of Bunker's Creeks and lakes to go over. They also have footgolf (soccer). Great for families. A good cafe, light lunches, snacks, open to the public

Worked at wedding here and found the place to be very accommodating. Prestine and well maintained lawns with great landscaping around. Facilities looked well maintained and every felt cared for. The carpark could do with a bit more parking as it was quite a squeeze for a wedding.

Had a wonderful staff function at Maxwell's Golf Retreat. Kaye is a beautiful and welcoming host. Nestled in the most gorgeous surroundings, I highly recommend Maxwell's to all. Thanks Kaye for the amazing experience.

Beautiful rural, relaxed feel golf course with native wood pigeons and well maintained greens. Great for a relaxed round of golf.

26Oct16 Retired pro golfer Ms Kay Maxwell is the working owner here and it is over a year since I came here for refreshment with a friend. For coffee it was open some days but not others. This nine hole golf course at the end of Ingram Road in the Franklin district is only 25 minutes from Manukau Central where Rainbow's End and Westfield Manukau are located. The club house contains a full catering kitchen, an administration office, a cafe counter selling hot and cold drinks, cakes and hot and cold foods, a conference room and plenty of casual tables and chairs. The coffee is good. It doesn't vary much .. but it does vary a little. The service is very personal and friendly. You can sit on the extensive decks and yak for hours with friends while you look out over the course and enjoy a sandwich or tea or cold drinks. There's a beautiful outdoor fire at one end of the decks - perfect for cooler days and evenings.

20 of us visited Maxwells for a round of foot golf to start off my mates stag party, Kaye was awesome, very welcoming and organised, the retreat has a great vibe and overall it was a nice start to the day!

Great course and hospitality, excellent food

This is a very pretty little course, good for practicing your short game (all par 3), but also good for families with a very relaxed atmosphere and good food. There is also “foot golf” for those who want to try something different.
