W.This is a very tidy and well-maintained golf course. It is a flat course with mostly straight fairways on the first nine then several interesting dog legs thereafter. The tee signs are some of the best that I've seen and also very good paths. Note that the 5 par lake IS longer than you think.
The clubhouse is large, tidy and comfortable, perfect for the 19th hole. Easy parking outside and a good pro shop.
K.My boy has joined the junior golf class today. And it is really good place to learn. The green is really good condition and all facilities are good as well. And the tutor is really kind and the class is really good organisation.
K.Played here on a Tuesday morning making for an enjoyable experience. Two very different nines. The first the original layout with very tight fairways, smaller greens and mostly straight holes. The second nine, which the pro shop told me was redone only a few years ago, is much more modern with open undulating fairways and large resort style greens. Not the longest course and flat overall, but in great condition when I visited with very competitive green fees. The staff, including the green keepers were all super friendly, reveiling the club's lovely community.
A.Nice golf course that is reasonably close to the city. Very helpful head pro and other golf pros. Pro shop assistant (tk) very friendly and knowledgeable in golf equipments.
G.The course is long off the blue tees especially into the local winds that can be strong at times. The back nine is excellent with new holes, greens , bunkers and surrounds. The front nine is tough into the wind which occurs pretty much each alternate hole and the par 3's are a good test. Its holding the NZ Amateur in a few weeks so you know it has to be good.
H.It's one of the best golf course in Christchurch, with the course newly redesigned in the last couple of years. The price has gone up a bit also. It's a very windy course, and with plenty of hazards.

S.Although water does make a brief appearance at the end of the par-5 6th and at the par-3 7th, its trees that will dominate your thinking here at Russley - one of New Zealand's older and more established clubs. Many holes on this relatively compact and flattish layout resemble tree-lined avenues, and quite tight ones at that. Christchurch airport is just across the road from the course, but the runways seem to be aligned to create a minimal amount of noise on the golf course and on the terrace of the very smart clubhouse.
