Popped in for lunch. Nice country retreat, very good service, lovely seafood basket & a good range of beverages. Bit wet outside, but very cosy inside. Steady stream of diners, so all up a good place.

Fabulous Historic hotel, off the beaten track (near Tirau). Has accommodation and "formal" dining room as well as bar, bistro, games room facilities. Al fresco dining also.
Manages beautiful adjacent golf course. Has campground facilities as well.
Also, natural hot water pool - not really suitable children. A largely peaceful tranquil place.

Lovely lunch for our family. Great golf for the golfers and wish we had time to go into the hot pools. Going to book a weekend away there soon.

We stopped on the way back from a mystery trip. A lovely hotel of the old fashioned type. Enjoyed a drink sat outside was glorious. Noticed you could stay if you had a motor home looked very peaceful. Wonderful service from the barman on duty.

Uber relaxing stay, with super friendly staff. A big shout out to Dipak who arranged for me a meal that wasn’t on the menu. While not technically legal, it’s little differences like this that leave a warm and lasting impression. Bravo sir!
B.
Can't fault the hospitality and ambience but last 2 meals haven't been the same quality over last few months. Disappointed as we been visiting for at least once or twice a month for a meal. Something changed
A.
Beautiful natural hot springs, the oldest in nz. There since the late 1880s
Highly recommend. The guy who cleans them does a wonderful job
b.
Pictures of the Hot springs dont do it justice. I reckon a well kept secret. The kai was all round Awsum.-thanks to the Chef Naden, whom also graced us with good company and conversation. Bar staff & Managers were accomodating and went out of their way 2 make sure we wanted for nothing. Thumbs up Meri Kirihimete & Happy New Year!

Beautiful spot with three spa pools, right next to river coming from Blue springs. Very relaxing, keeping me going back.

Was lovely to be out and about after coming out of level 3 lockdown. An awesome afternoon spent here. Bar snacks were yummy. Ordered the fisherman's basket.
J. K.
A mix of unique and oddness. Great for having 24/7 hot spring with a unique forestry walk. The accomodation is a bit outdated, however each of our room have our own private spa and continental breakfast is included. Great for value and good escape from auckland. Golf course just across the st
H.
Had lunch on a lovely sunny monday afternoon food was good then into the hot pools great stuff will go again
G. M.
Beautiful and peaceful surroundings restaurant can be busy but worth the wait comfortable bed clean and tidy facilities and room
Great service by staff hot pool available golf course available
S. E.
Aside from it being a bit rundown from years I've been in existence the place is still beautiful the hot pools need a bit of love but the top hot hot pool is gorgeous view of the roaring River while sitting in a nice and usually quite private hot natural spa
D.
Beautiful setting, friendly staff, enjoyed a very pleasant drink and yummy food.
M. K.
The rooms were neat and clean, and the decor suited the historical look of the hotel. The hot springs were very nice and set in a beautiful landscape. The bar is not open though. There are tennis courts and a golf course across the street. Overall our stay was nice but the breakfast was cereal and toast and yogurt, and definitely needs improvement for the price of the stay.
M. F.
Friendly welcome. Chalet was very clean and tidy- would have loved a microwave in the room though. Continental breakfast offering was great. Pools were beautiful too. Thanks for a lovely stay
G. F.
Quaint and warm. So Ole world that it takes you back in time. Bed very comfortable and large. Lovely linen. Shower not so good especially if you have longer hair. Not much room in bathroom but Lovely and clean
s.
Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Great food and great service.

True old hotel style !
Fabulous and charming
Hot pools so authentic and endowed in nature setting .
Caravan camping excellent location - budget facilities but shower and toilet appreciated
2 minute walk to pools
A unique kiwi experience to be repeated .
Thankyou for the pleasure

Great lunch and a dip in the hot springs. Awesome 👌

Started to type and it became a ramble, so I’ll start again.
The rooms. Lovely. Clean and comfortable.
The staff. The waitress that was on by herself, was brilliant. Give her a pay rise.
The food. The food...... the chef needs talking to. The sirloin steak came out blue and cold. The potato mash it sat on was cold. The salad looked like something a 12yr old attempted.
Breakfast.....cold poached eggs and bacon.
Plates were cold. The service in general was poor. EXCEPT the waitress, bless her
But hire more staff!!!

We loved our stay - super friendly and accommodating staff, large chalet, retro/heritage decor, delicious dinners from restaurant, stunning bush/forest setting, and those hot springs are lush! Would stay here again. There was an issue with our booking whereby I booked online through their website and paid in full but didn’t receive a confirmation email. I contacted them and they could see the payment, but not the booking. Hopefully just a one-off technical glitch. Our room could probably have done with a deep clean to get rid of dust and a bit of stickiness on kitchen floor, but the positives of this place far outweighed the negatives for us, and these times of Covid-19 are challenging for many businesses.
J. B.
We stayed three weeks ago and the only room we could get was lemon tree cottage which is away from the main building so nice and quite old but lovely we enjoyed meeting the staff that could not do enough for us . We would stay there again as we had a lovely meal at night and what a breakfast we did not have to eat for the rest of the day
S.
Great to see it back open. Enjoyable afternoon thanks to Sol the Barman shot bro
W. H.
Old world charm at the pub side, attentive staff and good food. A bit of a hikoi to the hot pools if you have mobility issues. A very nice rustic setting.
D. M.
Good food, friendly proprietors, quiet surrounding area. The pools weren't as hot as I expected, and one was a bit slimy on the bottom. The pools are in Bush like surrounds.
S.
Surprisingly lovely, came on end of long weekend after music festival and the place was spotless and new manager very welcoming despite a huge weekend (and his staff didn't turn up so twice as busy for him). Food was really nice, camped in their grounds and although a little tired it was quaint
T.
The shower in the campground was blocked full of water. The campground seems to be neglected why???? If there are poor reviews for this site why aren't they rectified. I see poor reviews over many months it's a beautiful place sort it out.....
M.
Always a great place to visit and especially enjoy golf and hot Springs.
L. H.
Great place to stop for refreshments and a spot of lunch. Very friendly atmosphere and staff. We met the new owner, Tom who has taken over recently. Great chap. Great place for bikers to stop and meet. Nice looking golf course. Gonna stay there overnight next week.
K.
Went for dinner, Food was beautiful. Highly recommend
J.
Good. Everything you would expect. I like that the place is rumoured to be haunted, it adds character to the place. The spas are amazing and staff are awesome.
R.
Pools were awesome. Kids loved it. Friendly staff.
P. R.
Loved the historic hotel and hot springs. Dinner was tasty and plentiful. Staff friendly and helpful. Tidy with nice grounds. The only improvement i felt was needed was breakfast could do with an improvement. Although free with accommodation I would've been happy to pay a bit extra for nicer scrambled eggs and better quality bacon.
R. G.
Great service happy friendly staff. Beautiful food in the restaurant.
Must visit place. Delightful traditional camping ground and beautiful hot pools.
T. P. R.
We found our stay at this hotel good. The bed was extremely comfortable, rooms clean and the meal was very nice.
More people need to visit this lovely place so it does not close.
The only negative comment is that the buildings need some tlc
J. O.
Awesome secluded spot, stayed 1 night in the motorhome. Will definitely be back for a longer stay. The 3 thermal pools perched above the Waihou river are a magic spot and great place to relax. Camp facilities are basic but with a motorhome it doesn't really matter as long as you have somewhere level to park
B. F.
We randomly chose it, as we were passing through. Outside doesn't appear like much, but it's super nice inside, clean, high ceiling, ... And then the hot pools ! We sat in darkness looking at stars and glowworms. Not big, but really nice.
Friendly personal, welcoming, wanted feedback to improve, which seemed genuine. Great.
We couldn't be happier.
W.
Had rum and coke they didn't have any ICE😱
S.
Yummy lunch great setting
Cold beer!!
T. T.
Apparently there are new owners so I am not sure if it was day one for them or not , going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Over priced $44. For no power, facilities were not clean, toilets terrible. If priced right we would have gone up for drinks and dinner. Probably should get rid of the cooks as they may be contributing to the mess. One of the pools was covered in something?? However when we went down a few hours later it had cleared. Pools need some attention. Cleaners came late evening and did collect rubbish. We will visit again but won't stay if not clean.
G.
Nice lunch, friendly atmosphere
K. R.
Nice place for tent camping. Beautiful grounds and hot springs. The only negatives were the cleanliness was poor- no one had taken out the trash in the bathrooms/ kitchen. It was a bit neglected feeling. Cost: 22pp. Bar has a lively local scene and billiards.
M.
Nice for a lunch stop on our country side adventures.
J. C.
Had a family dinner at the restaurant. It was a Tuesday so not too busy which was good. Great old historic hotel in a very significant location. Comfortable feel with v.good food..pub menu looked good too. We had 3 under 5yrs with us and staff were very accomodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and meals and will definitely be back soon.
C. G.
This place has really improved. Credit to the good work being put in by the staff. Nice place for a meal and beer.
R.
Very Sadly Understaffed. We had an overnight stay here and the place is charming and adorable, really love the antiques and historical nature of this place. The young lady who was working here was doing the job of what should have been maybe 4 different employees. She was running the front desk and in charge of all guest relations. She was also bartending the very busy bar and waiting tables. I must say she did a stellar job and still was friendly and managed to have a smile on her face. But I want to stress to management, what you are doing you this poor lady just isn't fair. It's not fair to her. She is working extremely hard and has no help. There were tons of unhappy guests and no way for her to handle it. It's not fair to the guests either because there was no way to give good service. We got a room with a hot tub. The bedroom itself was clean and pleasant but the hot tub was filthy. Also there were many areas that needed cleaning like the fixtures in the bathroom etc. We had to move rooms because plugging in the heater caused a circuit to blow and there was no maintenance person on duty. The hot tub in the second room was dirtier than the first. Note to management, please don't run this beautiful old hotel into the ground. And treat your employees and guests with respect by staffing enough people to handle the load of customers.

Was a lovely serene setting with country views , and enjoyed the food. Our room had a good bed however although there was a jug for tea and coffee, and a water pitcher, there was no fridge in the room to keep water cold or the 2 free milk samples chilled and we were really parched during the night and really wanted a basic cup of cold water.
Very unfortunate as our stay was good otherwise.
W.
Excellent hot springs, golf course, good food. Unfortunately my room did not have hot water.
A.
A pretty cool little place out in peaceful nature. Venue is amazing but poor staff service. Was a bit disappointing when I went to buy a drink at 10am on a saturday when we popped in they had run out of all softdrinks so I could only have a water. No apologies either she just said we have none, we ran out last night and have not restocked... even though the closest town is a 5minute drive away and I would think that staff coming through from town in the morning could have brought some for the bar especially considering many people stopping in are driving throughso a non alcoholic option would be a must!
R. A.
Had the pleasure of attending a wedding here in February 2020, I thought it was amazing. Place was very welcoming, awesome friendly staff, food was exceptional, I would go back as it took me back to the good days when there were no cares or worries. Loved it.
G. J.
Lovely old hotel in the back blocks ooosing character but go out the back to see it. the huge dinning room and private lounge are a magnet for a lovely malt whiskey after a meal. Super friendly and relaxed. Expect level of service to vary considerably so just relax and enjoy the old place
L. a. G. C.
Very pleasant location to spend an afternoon over lunch on the verandah in the sun. Hotel is steeped in history -most interesting, staff were very pleasant and food was delicious. Can recommend the Fishermans Basket and the Fish and Chips -cooked perfectly! We will definitely be back!
V. D.
I enjoy coming here and the staff were friendly. I do however think some time needs to be put into maintenance of the property. The pools need a clean with a lot of leaves and vegetation in them, and the smaller pool was quite slimy and therefore it was very easy to slip on the rocks. The food was very enjoyable, however the vegetables were only luke warm. I will be back, but look forward to a little bit of upkeep being done 😊
N. M.
Been plenty of times, love the atmosphere although the track down was a bit washy, and if only we were able to increase the heat in the relaxing pool
P. A.
Absolutely brilliant. Exceptionally friendly staff even when busy which it was with the winter fun ride. Excellent room. Lovely, clean and comfortable bed. Great food and reasonably priced. Hot pools were also worth a dip. Saw glow worms at night so pretty spectacular. Interesting items to look at wherever you turned. Comfortable, easy going atmosphere. Will definitely go again.
E. L.
Very pleasant experience. An unexpected last mintue booking found us arriving late. Quick drink at the bar followed by early night. Electric blanket was already on & room heated. Quaint & opulent. Fittings beautiful just like stepping back into the late 1800's. Attentive service the next morning over cooked breakfast. Went for a walk to hot springs which looked very inviting but I wasn't organized to go for a dip. Next time. Anyway overall very nice place to stay. Only slight negative is that the room is a little small but this is an old building so can only do much to size of existing room & the king size bed takes up more room than old fashioned double bed would have. Definitely add this to your places to stay.
C.
What a gem of a find enroute back from the Blue Spring! Stopped and had a beer 😄
S. B.
Amazing hotel and pub with the most gorgeous and affordable hot springs. The owners are so lovely and reasonable letting us stay a little longer in the pools for no charge. Would not only come back again but plan to bring my friends any time we have a relaxation day. Such a beautiful little group of pools tucked away in the gorgeous kiwi greenery. A must not just for tourists passing through but also any locals.

What a hidden treasure!
I was initially indecisive about staying here after reading the review but so glad I decided to make up my own mind and go. We camped here for 3 days, dined in the hotel itself for dinner with our family of 10+ and couldnt be happier. The staff are super friendly & helpful. The food was lovely, well presented and a generous share. Everyone of us as well as the kids were happy. The hotel itself is beautiful and rich with history, well maintained with loads to do. The campgrounds are well looked after and a great kiwi experience. The hot pools are lovely! At night you can even spot some glow worms. It's just a beautiful spot. The biker bar stop is also a great part to the whole experience. If you havent been since this review do give it another go our experience was great. Will be out every chance we get. Love it!
D.
Tasty food, well presented.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming, even took the time chat.
W.
Great bar, nice staff

The hotel itself is very nice and the springs are amazing. The rooms can be a little loud (somewhat thin walls), but some earplugs made sure I slept well in the comfortable bed. The bartender was really friendly while we played a few games of pool, and the morning breakfast is pretty good. The hot springs are wonderful and just a short walk down a beautiful path. If you go off on a little path in a forest area on the way there's a quick walk down to an amazing view of a rushing waterfall and pool. The only negative was the restaurant--the food was good, but there are flies EVERYWHERE. That's true of the area in general, but it wasn't a problem until we sat down to eat and had to shoo them away every 10 seconds once our food arrived. Other than that one minor gripe, very highly recommended.
A.
Had a fabulous night staying at this beautiful spot just a couple of hours from Auckland, our chalet was so warm and cosy, lovely and clean, very comfortable bed and a great hot spa pool for a soak before bed. Awesome natural hot pools as well set in lovely native bush. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and fab meals in the hotel. Looking forward to staying a bit longer next time! Highly recommend this place to anyone. It is easier and cheaper to book through the hotel than the booking website.
N.
Caming - We did not enter the hotel. Very friendly staff but the facilities were shockinly poor for the 'top 10' fees charged. Value for camping should be $10 per night, that price I woulld give a 5. Complementary 'springs' pass was the reason for the 3, these were AMAZING and an experience I will share. Seeing is believing and it is a must!!. Wish I could rate the springs and camping seporatly from the hotel, sorry.
G.
Very tired. Needs some TLC on all facilities for what they charge. Under staffed which created slow/bad service. Rooms were clean and tidy. This place could rock with the right make over and atmosphere.
T.
The meals were absolutely amazing, the head waitress/manager was so nice, the owner or boss (an Asian lady) was rude and tried to say we hadn't done changes to our booking which we had, but the food and service made up for the lack of customer service.
Great atmosphere
Hot spring wasn't very hot, this visit, has been better in the past. Loved the settings in the Bush as always, is so relaxing.
J. T.
Returned to the hotel after 25 years, where I first met my true love. Beautifully refurbished with great character. A golf course across the road, hot springs down the road, what more could you want. Friendly staff. Great memories.
M. O.
We go for a drive. Beautiful walk around the golf course and a dip in the little hotpool. Nice walk through the trees to a waterfall. Nice food at Lin h and dinner otherwise bar menu is good. No morning or afternoon tea food. Coffee and tea however. Very beautiful scenery and antique feel to the hotel.
J.
Amazing heritage Hotel that is warm and comfy. Everything is a feast for the eyes. The staff are super helpful.
C.
Good food, nice golf range. Hot springs weren't too hot which I actually liked. Room needs more cleaning thou. We found too many dead flies around the window and dead fruit flies in the shower.
T.
Had our daughter wedding there on the 18 of August 2018 venue was amazing the catering was outstanding and staff was so awesome and very helpful. We booked out the whole venue which made an awesome weekend of it would highly recommend this venue. Thank you so much for a memeral wedding our guests were very so well cared for. Teresa S

Friendly service and laid back atmosphere

Arrived just after 12noon today, Saturday 11 August. Lots of other motorcyclists there as well as a large contingent of classic cars. Lovely setting. Food was ok however the wait time reflected the fact it was so busy.
T.
Good food and drink had been before not so good so great to meet new owners and see improvement
G. H.
We stayed two nights here for a reunion. Lovely historical hotel. The rooms were clean with their own ensuite. Fish and chips were very nice. Breakfast was included in the price.
N.
One of the best place to stay and enjoy weekend/holiday season.
-Excellent location and natural beauty
-Well maintain Restaurent and bar.
-For physical and Mental Relaxation I would advice to take Natural Hot spring bath.
Go>>Enjoy>>Relax

Incredibly friendly and charming staff, beautiful and classy common spaces and hotel rooms, generous dinner and breakfast (had the best flat white of my NZ trip here!). As others have stated, the hot spring pools are run down, but the ambiance is breathtaking-- even if you don't plan to swim, be sure to walk down the tree lined path and see the foliage and waterfall! 100% recommend.
M. C.
The hotel also operates a small basic campground. $25/pp gets you access to the hot springs which are really nice. There are about 3 pools with different temperatures. The campsite is very quiet and has a tiny kitchen and we could only find one shower.
The low star rating is because of the terrible food. We had pizza, hot chips and pork wontons the first night. Worst pizza base I have ever tasted. It was inedible-spongy with a really weird texture. The chips were average. Luckily the wontons were not too bad, and definitely better than everything else.
The second night we had the sirloin steak with chips. It was really over done and very pricey $34. I had the pork stew which turned out to be pork belly and in no way resembled a stew. This was $26.
They do a buffet breakfast for $25/pp but after the horrible food that we had already tried we decided to cycle into Tirau (6km each way) and have breakfast there. I would fully recommend Bugger Cafe.
Go to this hotel for the camping and hot pools but go somewhere else for the food is my recommendation.
G.
Nice location. Hotpools were magic at night, breakfast was good. Rooms were comfortable, but really dated ( we were in the chalets) hence the mark down from 5 stars. If you're into golf you'd probably never leave.
M. K.
The hotpools are beautifully designed for a lovely relaxing outdoor experience...very well landscaped...a LOT of thought has gone into utilizing the surrounding natural resources. One hundred percent clean.
Also the staff were exceptionally pleasant...even when I lost the key and took half an hr to find it. And I observed their polite manner in dealing with incoming foreign guests.
An A +++ experience.
S.
Amazing hot springs set in the Forrest. The lady at the front desk was so nice . Best service and clean facility. Loved it
J. W.
Lovely place with a real sense of history. Pretty cool and not bad prices either. We had dinner there as well, the food was basic but nice and also well priced. We would go back, recommended.
D. “. T.
Awesome food great to be back
N.
This is a quiet little hotel/pub nestled amongst the trees next to the Waihou river. It has a restaurant and bar for treats plus it boasts a 9 hole golf course and hot pools too boot. For the budget minded there are camping facilities for hire. A great place to come for a day of rest & relaxation for the whole family.
K. B.
Is a nice spot in the middle of the country side. Was. Jot busy when we were there, and was a great relaxing soak.. Highly recommend...
The only Downside is no private pools... But in the day that didn't matter.
I. T.
Primarily stayed here for a location to crash at following evening banquet at Hobbiton. For that purpose it was excellent. Went to the hot springs pool as well which was a totally cool walk by the river among the ferns. A unique experience. Parts of the hotel are well maintained. Other parts are not so much. My shower lever spun around and couldn't seem to figure out what temperature it wanted to be. If you're looking for a fancy bathroom you won't want my room here. If you can handle old fashioned faucets on the sink for hot and cold in two separate spouts than this place is quaint. The Wi-Fi was excellent here. Sent out heaps of videos and backed the phone up.
J.
Surprisingly nice spot for lunch.
Appreciate the chef being able to make allowances for my life threatening food allergy. Few chefs can.
m.
really reasonable prices with good food. the spa is amazing although the ten minute walk is more like 3. the TV and wifi suck and the shower takes a million years to find the right heat. was a banging somewhere down the hall all night. would happily return every year on my anniversary as the issues with the tv and wifi dont matter when you dont need them.
D. Y.
We had a sales conference at the Okoroire Hotel, the staff couldn't have been more helpful! The rooms were very comfortable and the food in the restaurant was fantastic! We all agreed that Okoroire Hotel was very good value for money and look forward to our next visit.
S.
Lovely historic establishment with gorgeous natural thermal pools, a great 9 hole golf course and a cosy camping ground. Sitting on the deck in the afternoon sun with a cold drink is very relaxing
F.
If you are looking for a nice hotel in the area of Matamata with a British Flair you should consider in taking this hotel. The huge benefit is that they have their own hot springs accessible only for hotel guests. The hot springs are perfect to relax either in summer or in winter. They have a nice bar that attracts many bikers.
A.
A nice stay ...we stayed on 17 January 2020...we enjoyed the lunch ...scrumptious fish and chips...and the dinner was superb...great outside and nice people to talk to..
However the room needs some implements...
.we were disappointed that there were no bowls for breakfast and no beer opener!..
Also the wifi did not reach from the hotel to the unit...
D.
Been some years since my last visit. The upgrades are beautiful. Loved our visit. The kids enjoyed it too even though they couldn't put the heads under the water.
E.
Pools are in a beautiful setting but really need cleaning! Becoming dangerous to access because of green slime! Steps into pool are slimy and slippery & someone is bound to get injured!
B. “. O.
Drove up from Feilding late Friday night, (terrible fog through Desert Rd/Taupo/forests etc), arrived 9.30pm, and met a very warm greeting from receptionist, Santana. So helpful ! No food available, Dining Room closes @8.30pm. But we had stopped for a burger in Turangi just in case !
Shared a few drinks & stories with our friends from Whitianga, Corrina & Mitch by the (gas) fire in the Lounge. Bar Lady was awesome with politeness, attendance, & service in the Lounge. All the staff here were so obliging !
So off to bed in Chalet 3 at 11.30pm. Room all warmed up with heater ! Very comfy & spacious KING-size bed ! Excellent sleep.
Woke up @ 7.15am & in our own personal Spa pool in our private back yard area by 8.00am !! 42* in the spa, 7* outside air temp. ! Yummy.
Great cooked breakfast , came included with Chalet price.
After brecky, went for a stroll around grounds (no golf for us, but there is a 9 hole course if you want it), & down to the Mineral Spa Pools. What a hike ! The steepest steps I have been down ! And up later ! Very dangerous if you have dodgy knees, hips etc(which I do). We are 69/66! But we got down there and what a disappointment. Alright, they are the oldest MODERN CONCRETE mineral pools in the world evidently (what about the Roman baths in Europe ?), but the steep steps down into them had no handrails, and because they had renovations going on to repair damage from the floods last year, there was gaps in the steps, & path. NOT GOOD ! They need to create a better, easier access, from the bush/river walk path ! So we did not get in to experience them & crawled back up the steps & path to the bar & rested , played pool & drank beer !
Otherwise the grounds, are lovely for a bush walk, & the river bank walk is lovely. The river was in flood mode after heavy rain this week, so was roaring like the Huka Falls ! Exciting !
Had a beautiful Lamb-burger & fries & salad for lunch, (served on a hot plate, with the fries in a mini cook-basket, & salad on a cold plate). 5*****.
So back to the bar, girls played pool, Val WON !! and we departed at 2pm for Rotorua in the rain .
Overall very pleasant break; regardless of the access to the pools & their condition ! So good, in fact, that we have booked again for next year, Wellington Anniversary Weekend, having been assured that the Mineral pools will be upgraded by then (HOPEFULLY) ! I'll learn to hit a golf ball reasonably by then (& maybe even teach Val !). So we can have a good walk ruined by bad golf ! 3***
p.
Stayed at the camping ground The toilet and showers were OK but the kitchen lacked hygiene. It was dusty and dirty. Yuck. The hot mineral pools were lovely
I.
Beautiful appointed rooms in a tranquil setting. Accommodation has a stately vintage style that creates a beautiful homely ambiance
G. W.
A quaint, out of the way hotel. While we only stopped for a drink and a walk to the hot springs, the menu looked good and reasonably priced. I think it would be a good place for a couple of days visit with the golf course and tennis court part of the package.
D. B.
Great atmosphere and food. Lots of bikers go here, not gangs though. Lovely forest walk by the river and mineral pools to swim in if you wish. Golf course across the road.
R.
Pretty average pub really....food may be good unless the communication between the bar and the kitchen doesnt happen, it didnt happen so not sure what the foods like. Dont go in with high expectations for this one.....quick drink and go for this one.
C.
Great staff and service. Thank you. Hot springs were lovely! Authentic.
K.
Whether it's golf, camping, hot springs, kayaks, motorcycles, cars, jet boats, a special day venue, or simply getting away from the hectic city, and enjoying a nice meal with friends, there is something for everyone here. I highly recommend Okoroire as a destination.
B.
Beautiful small colonial style hotel with access to exklusive natural hot springs. They are placed in a nice, forrest surrounding and very relaxing.
The hotel itself is nice and quiet, rooms are large, beds are good.
There is a public bar included in the estate with good food and beers.
Overall a nice place to relax and visit attractions in the Matamata, Roturoa area.
R.
nice place for a cold one, went their with mates last weekend and space was full, great local community.
V.
It should be amazing. The setting is beautiful but it seems to have been let go. There is sliminess on the bottom and on the steps, and the changing facilities are not very nice
K.
They had lost their liquor license, but forgot to pass it on. Not a happy hubby. The walk down to the Springs is beautiful
#.
Another nice stay here. Chalets are simple, clean and spacious. Food is always good however were out of a few things on the menu which was a little disappointing but enjoyed dinner non the less. #1HosponReview
T.
Bit run down. Pools need major upgrade. Hotel looks interesting, on our visit, no hot drinks, no food available. Golf across the road
D.
Food was very nice, pricing was about average and staff very helpful. Take something to put on legs to stop sand flies & mozzies frlm joining you for dinner when eating on the deckin. Overall great place to dine out.
H.
Stayed at the campgrounds to see in the new year 2017. Great tranquill little hide away. Love the newly rebuilt hot springs. Would recommend a little tlc was put into the facilities that were available. 1 shower for the 40-50ppl that were there during our stay. Just a thought. Love how theres sooooo much space and nature. We will stay there again however, its become the new yearly family vay kay. Close enough away from home yet not too far as we only live 45mins away. Looking forward to the new year holiday 2018.
C.
Kitchen shut so early. No remote to turn on TV, no cutlery, etc etc... hot springs looks awesome
D.
Great environment. 2 pools quite difficult to access. One of the best settings in nature. Nice water.

Fantastic place to stop in for refreshments...always full of visitors with accommodation on offer....a golf course available across the road if you wish for a bit of sport therapy....great friendly service with competitive rates...meals are fantastic...lots of parking and situated out in the country providing a very tranquil relaxing visit...
M.
Very accommodating staff, helpful. Campground a pleasant experience. Clean fresh air. Facilities
U.
Stayed at the camp ground. Nice place, a bit close to the road, but close to the hot springs too. There is few powered spots, a small kitchen (not equipped), one shower, and toilets. Not the biggest comfort, but it was correct for us.
G.
Very old, but very comfortable family oriented hotel.....with lots to do..golfing, tennis and of course the famous hot springs. Nice bar area and excellent food in the restaurant. Helpful and cheerful staff.
K.
Pools: Great location. 3 different pools, 3 different temperatures. Gets quite busy at peak times.i think there are private options also. Also great food up at the hotel restaurant. Also provides accomodation.
A.
The food wasn't great and the service wasn't exceptional. Some of the staff didn't even smile at the customers. But the location is great and the contemporary designs of the building and the interior is quite charming.
K.
I rode on a children's cancer fund raiser recently and this was our meet up point..cool place, staff was freindly and so was a beer after a ride..will go back some time and check the place out properly instead of all the bikes
L.
Great meal. Thank you

Dog friendly camping, nice pub meals plus restaurant breakfast available. Very basic facilities made up for by being able to soak in the hot pool (extra cost for campers, free with hotel accom).
M.

Great food, service a little slow at bar. The pools are great, very natural. I love the sand bottom.
M.
Nice food, good service and homey ambience. Could have a more varied menu, and we had some confusion from the waitress that ended up in over ordering
r.
Haven't stayed in accommodation but have had food and beverages...not impressed with food...very pricey for what you get...ordered eggs bene...should be named EGG bene as only one egg but you certainly pay the price for two...hollandaise sauce on side was cold too...chips were soggy (oil not drained enough)...nice atmosphere for us motorbike enthusiasts to come and natter tho
M.
Golf 9 holes was fun. Restaurant food was average. Hot pools need a good clean. All overpriced for experience.
